881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 21, 2023, 06:18:29 AM
The match between Real Madrid and Union Berlin was definitely a little too close for comfort for Real Madrid in my opinion. Maybe Real Madrid should have thought about bringing a decent enough striker, a little more.
Real Madrid have no issue with the result as at the end they got three points and it's enough for them. I don't think Real Madrid will need to get too good goal difference in this group because they can go next without it. They lacked of luckiness to have goals in at least two shots but in other situations, they must finish opportunities better.

Quote
The next match is against Atletico Madrid and I hope they will not be facing any big problems in that match. So far Jude Billingham has been the one scoring important goals for them. But they cannot deny the fact that they surely need a better striker compared to what they have right now. Real Madrid has been able to win every match so far and they will undoubtedly not be wanting to lose that match or even drop points which will give Barcelona a chance to catch up with them and get ahead of them.
Real Madrid have better form than Atletico Madrid but they need their attacking players to be more precisely with their shots. From Rodrygo, Joselu to Valverde, Modric and Kroos, Camavinga, those players must sharpen their shot skills with better accuracy because Jude Bellingham's good streak can stop anytime.

If Jude stops to score winning goals for them, they will need to have other players to do this. Atletico Madrid are no longer strong in both defense and attacking like some seasons ago but they are able to block their box and protect their goalkeeper. Oblak is still one of best goalkeepers globally and he can help Atletico Madrid to get one point from the Madrid derby.
882  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to do a better Macro, micro Economic Research on: September 21, 2023, 06:08:03 AM
So guys, I would love to know how I can do a better Macro and micro Fundamental Analysis in Crypto. I know is not all about reading the news and concluding. I know that some good fundamental traders do a good research and almost get their predictions right. So please if you know the direction I can go to get this, I'll appreciate that and I believe others too would learn from this topic
You can use Compare bull markets chart and get overview.

More fundamentals with Future supply (BTC left to mine) and Halving progress.

With me, those charts are enough for me to have fundamentals. I looked for many indicators in the past but after all, after many years, I gave up and no longer use many indicators.
883  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What exchanges allow you to trade derivatives even though it ban in your country on: September 21, 2023, 01:35:16 AM
Are you sure that's a wise choice? If you use a service that explicitly states you can't use it if you live in the US or somewhere else, using a VPN is likely going to get you a ban. I've seen many cases where people lost their accounts without having a chance to withdraw their money when they used a VPN. Sure, you can use a good VPN that masks your IP with a dedicated IP, but the risk is still there.
People only want to think ways to break rules of a service and they don't want to consider risk. They can find other alternative platforms that have friendly rules for them and they can use those alternatives safely without ToS violations.

Quote
I'm also not sure about the guarantee that no DEX is going to freeze your account. At the very least I don't trust any service that call themselves DEX just because they use smart contract, especially if you live in the US. The SEC fined some services as mentioned above because they believe those DEX services still need to follow regulations. Whether you agree or not, you still have that risk. Better to be safe than sorry.
Using a DEX include many types of services like trading, staking and risk depends on type of activity. If it is staking, a user has to lock their coins in a staking pool that is owned by a DEX. Risk can appear there and that DEX can seize your staked coins.

I was thinking that a new feature might be interesting for the forum. Is it possible to implement zapping (with lightning) on topics, comments and profiles' bio?
Move it to Meta board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0
At bottom, click Move topic, choose Meta board to move the thread.

I guess I’m not in the know because I have no idea what zapping is or why the forum would want it. If it’s sending tips, then this is a Bitcoin forum and I would think having a Bitcoin address is enough to do this. If it’s about patting someone on the back for making a good post, then that’s what merit exists for.
Lightning Network is offchain, not on chain and I think it is not priority of Bitcointalk forum.

Merit is for quality posts and if earned merit can be converted to forum internal currency, for tipping, then convert it to bitcoin, it's so interesting. I feel exciting with this idea but I know it can be exploited by merit farmers, fishers like in Wall Observers or local boards.

Well it's not just stablecoins, but everything about crypto itself. There's just many to cover first before making your kids use any forms of crypto out there. The security, the risk, the methodologies, and the technical stuffs that they need to obtain first before keeping their hard-earned money into crypto.
Kids should not touch money too early as they can lose control and get distracted to many things in life. As kids, they must learn, focus on education and some soft skills that can be helpful for their life, interactions with other people. Money is not main thing and priority for kids when you are as parents want to educate them.

Cryptocurrency or Bitcoin can be taught to kids through funny games and I remembered there are some such games designed specifically for kids.

Quote
I don't think every parents out there are going to consider this though. It is each of their own at this case. There are parents that do not fancy tech stuff involving their money. My parents aren't really a fan of credit card and I was not able to use it til this day as I don't want to be in debt. Cheesy
Each generation will be exposed to one or some big evolution and they are familiar with it. Then when they get older, something new, new evolution appears but as the elderly, they struggle to learn new things, technologies and see it hardly to use those things for their life. We saw our parents like this and soon our kids will see us like this in future.

Get a lawyer, write a will, go the official way, there is no better advice than this for your situation, that's if you have trust issues but for me, I don't mind, because I have no trust issues, there is nothing that will go back with you when you passed, even if you will all your properties, those who get them might still waste them, such is life.
If you can not trust a family member, the one you love, to know your wallet backups, how do you trust a lawyer?

If you don't trust your loved ones, don't let him/ her know about your wallet and do give his/ her rights to inherit your coins. It's simple and you must accept that when you die, your coins will be lost in the air until a day someone find where you store your seed and get it.

Trusting a lawyer is a terrible idea, should not be used.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 20, 2023, 08:26:34 AM
Another Manchester team will play in Champions League, they Manchester United will be hosted by Bayern Munich. It will be a very big test for Ten Hag and his players after some bad results in Premier League. A big match with Bayern Munich will be a big challenge for them but also a good chance for them to get a bounce and turn their form entirely different after that.

Big clubs need big matches to feel who they are and Manchester United players would feel more exciting when they play in Champions League. It is a dream of many players and sure they will not play there with lack of motivation like in Premier League.

Bayern Munich with a new striker, Harry Kane, will be ready to destroy Manchester United at their home stadium. Kane will face with Manchester United a first time after he left Tottenham Hotspur. This match is a chance for Kane to show his value for Bayern Munich that does not need him to win in Bundesliga but in Champions League.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 20, 2023, 01:40:42 AM
At home, PSG had a smooth start in the group of death in the Champions League when they won convincingly against Dortmund. Determined to succeed, PSG rushed to attack right at the beginning of the match, putting pressure on Dortmund's goal. Mbappé successfully took the penalty kick even though goalkeeper Kobel guessed the right direction.
This penalty helped Mbappe to open the match for PSG and they got a first win in Champions League. This win is a refresh for PSG after a bad streak in Ligue 1 and Mbappe would feel better a little bit. He can feel more satisfied that his goal eventually is helpful and enough for PSG to win a match. Generally, Mbappe will be a key player for PSg in this season and pressure on his shoulders is huge.

Quote
Next, Hakimi sealed a 2-0 victory for PSG. The final score could hardly have been 2-0 without missing at least 2 favorable situations at the end of the match. Along with that, Goncalo Ramos was also denied a goal due to offside.
This is the motivation for PSG to aim for the ambition of raising the Champions League championship.
Winning Dortmund is a first match in this season and it is important for PSG to go through this group but to win Champions League, it is another story. They even have yet gotten a ticket for round of 16 and still have 5 more matches in this group to get that ticket. Since knock out phase, PSG will face with bigger opponents and more pressure to succeed, if they are there.
890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Validation speed for bitcoin transactions. on: September 20, 2023, 01:34:44 AM
Bitcoin transaction fees are the rewards miners get when they verify transactions therefore the bigger the transaction fees the more inclined miners would  be to verify the block.
Miners confirm transactions, find Bitcoin blocks with their computational power from ASICs. Bitcoin nodes validate blocks, pass it to other nodes add them to the Bitcoin public ledger. Bitcoin nodes keep copies of transaction information, blocks and the blockchain.

891  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: September 19, 2023, 03:00:36 PM
Newcastle actually seems to be playing worse in the domestic league than AC Milan, who only lost once against Inter Milan yesterday. Ac Milan performed well at the start of this season while Newcastle has not shown good results in the EPL league, experiencing three consecutive defeats even though last week they narrowly won. against Brentford, but I think these two clubs definitely want to win, especially playing at Acmilan's home ground, of course Newcastle will find it difficult to win this match too.
Generally AC Milan have better net result than Newcastle United but recently, last weekend they both have bad performances and results. In Champions League, AC Milan is a bigger club and in the last season, they went too far. Newcastle United is like a newbie in Champions League and they will face with one of most successful clubs there, AC Milan.

Quote
But no one knows the strength of the two clubs in the domestic league and European championship league like the UCL, sometimes it always brings surprises that we don't imagine, playing bad in the domestic league doesn't necessarily mean playing bad in the UCL, I think the result of this first meeting will end in a draw and have to share points.   Wink
They are different competitions and players would have more motivation to play well in Champions League. Because it is barely chance to play in Champions League. Not all clubs can participate in Champions League regularly so playing there is already a dream of many players.

It takes decades for Newcastle United to join Champions League again. In Premier League, Tottenham Hotspurs is another example. They had one Champions League season ago but recent seasons, they struggled to get a position in top four of Premier League. So they less appear in Champions League recent years and players like Kane, Son Heung Min would feel unhappy with it.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 19, 2023, 02:55:21 PM
After successfully reviving Ajax, Ten Hag moved to Old Trafford to wake another giant, Manchester United. Despite what Erik Ten Hag says in public, Manchester United is in a difficult situation. It doesn't look like things will get any more accessible in the future for Ten Hag. Ten Hag has full rights to buy players. What the club received was a fragmented team.
Ajax Amsterdam and Manchester United are different and Ten Hag is facing with biggest challenge in his career. No doubt Manchester United is a bigger club than Ajax Amsterdam nowadays if we skip histories of two clubs. In the past, Ajax Amsterdam won some more C1 than Manchester United but those titles were many decades ago. Manchester United nowadays are bigger than Ajax Amsterdam in both their income, finance and reputation.

Expectation and pressure on Ten Hag are more bigger than in Ajax Amsterdam. He has good support from Manchester United but it also means he always has big pressure on his shoulders.
893  Economy / Economics / Re: 1.34 trillion asset manager Deutsche Bank to offer Bitcoin service on: September 19, 2023, 11:43:04 AM
Bank lockers cost money too, sometimes a lot more than just a transaction fee, depending on the size and the popularity of the bank shop you are talking about, some bank stores are at popular places, like at the middle of the most crowded place, so they have larger safes and a lot more expensive, the further you go from civilization and you reach the same bank but a different store, you will get smaller and cheaper ones.
Banks have different types and tiers and a higher tier they are classified in, a bigger size their banks are, they will have to be regulated by more and stricter rules from central banks. It is to avoid bankruptcies from big banks that will trigger terrible domino-effects. Consequently, using services provided by those big banks will be more costly.

Why do we need those services from banks when we can buy bitcoin on non KYC exchanges, without support from banks.

894  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: September 19, 2023, 11:13:27 AM
They have licensed to operate which you can verify through the Curacao website. It’s your problem if you can’t prove your source of income. You will only put on this kind of security check if you done something suspicious that will make you looks like doing money laundering in the casino.

I honestly don’t know what’s your issue here but your statement here is an obviously attack against Duelbits since you are using their security procedure as some sort negative feature of the casino which you can experience too on other casino with same circumstances becoming of AML policy.
Casinos with license have to follow many laws and regulations including KYC and AML policies. Then a user must be carefully before sending their money to an account on casino if they have yet read Terms of Service and FAQs. It takes time to read, scan or search to find information but it is really worth time to do that.

Money laundering is more regulated globally so casinos are not exceptions but I really believe big casinos with proved business, good reputation don't pull their KYC and AML card if they don't detect any suspicious activity from an account. Their casino reputation is more important than investigating a user without solid proof and take risk of damage on their reputation that takes many time like years to build up.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: September 19, 2023, 11:05:55 AM
When Messi, Neymar and Mbappe were all together in PSG the strength of the team was undoubtedly formidable as they could stand any team in the french league, with these three player in the team then, they had the best front line in Ligue 1, their convertions were excellent with matching assist and every match was epic with good number of goals.
Those players are guarantee for sexy football and many goals, winnings for PSG against clubs in Ligue 1 but they are problems of PSG when playing in Champions League. Because in Champions League, they need more proactively defense and those players failed to provide it for the team.

Attacking is good but without proactively defensive contributions, those players create a lot of problems for PSG's midfielders and defenders. Without proactively defense, they are more vulnerable to counter attacks from opponents. In Ligue 1, it is not big issue because French clubs are not strong enough to exploit it and beat PSG.

Quote
The effects of the departure of two of these three players on the team cannot be overly emphasised as it's evident and obvious with every game as dependency and pressure has been moved to the only one of this player left, a typical example cam be seen in their match against Nice where the lost, all goals were scored by mbappe, the team showed a weak moral until mbappe's first goal.
PSG did not buy big star players to replace Messi and Neymar. Only Mbappe is not enough for their attacking system and in this season, so far Mbappe is feeling that he is nothing if a club is not strong as a team.

It is also great chance for Mbappe to sit back, think deeply about his role in a club. I hope he will realize that in football, winning as a team is important than stunning performance from a single player.
896  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does monitor size affect trading? on: September 18, 2023, 08:16:53 AM
Back when I used a new trader I got like 4 monitors and couldn’t make any money trading. Now I can trade from my phone and make good trades.
Your post is funny but it mentions about facts in trading. Traders can start with good capital, prepare good trading tables and many accessories like multiple monitors like you did, but if lack of knowledge and more important experience in trading, risk to lose capital is always big.

If it is a newbie trader, having many monitors and overlook at those monitors will destroy that trader emotion. Bad trading positions and bad results would come unavoidably.

Quote
You don’t need many monitors like they do in the Wall Street movies. It helps to have at least 2 so you don’t need to look back and forth between windows. However if you don’t know what you are doing in the first place then having 10 monitors won’t help you at all.
Monitors are useless and can bring side effects too. I have one more advice for newbie traders, they should not trade on phones because they can make mistakes when opening or closing their positions. If they have computers, laptops, they should use those devices rather than phones for trading.
897  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Psychology and tips on: September 18, 2023, 07:05:03 AM
Not only that, but the higher the leverage, the lower the percentage of traders who consistently make money. In other words, by using leverage you get closer to a 100% probability of failure and the more leverage you use, the closer to 100%. Let's see without leverage, only day trading:
Being a successful trader is hard and most of traders fail to do it. By saying successful, I mean it must be verified through a long time for trading. We can not look at a trading history of one day, one week and say that trader is a successful one. It can be temporary success by luckiness and when a market moves with a same thinking of that trader. Verify a trader and a trading history need a longer time, like few months, few years because the market will have some big turning points to kill bad traders. At such points, temporary profit will be taken away quickly by market.

Quote
“95% of all traders fail” is the most commonly used trading related statistic around the internet. But no research paper exists that proves this number right. Research even suggests that the actual figure is much, much higher.

As I say, add leverage and you'll be close to 100% failure rate.
I know about that high percent of failed traders. Thanks for quoting and I agree with you that using leverage, futures trading will increase risk and probability to become failed trader.
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 18, 2023, 06:55:18 AM
I thought so too, I thought Harry Kane’s departure would badly affect them and their performance would decline even further but they have surprised us all, they are having a flying start and the players are enjoying themselves. Bissouma and P.M. Sarr are coordinating things well and blending perfectly with Maddison. The good performance is all thanks to the coach though, he have so much belief in his players and he said in an interview that the secret to the team’s performance is simple he just tell them to go in and do what they know how to do best.
The good form of Tottenham helped them to gain a second position in Premier League table. Together with Liverpool and Arsenal, they have only 2 points less than Manchester City that have perfect first five matches with 5 wins and 15 points. The impressive performances of Tottenham are unpredictable and unexpected because losing Harry Kane is a very big loss for them.

But as we know, when a gate closes, another gate will be opened and it is exactly what's going on in Tottenham. They don't have too deep player resources like Manchester City and Liverpool and are more like Arsenal, so they will have to try a lot to maintain good performances in rest of season. At least the good start gives a lot of hope for Tottenham players and their fans.

At top of Premier League, we have another big surprise, Brighton. They continued their past good season and are still playing well in this season. They are not far from top four with Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool.

What I really don't understand with the choice of players that was signed to Chelsea in the summer transfer window was if they were Todd Boehly's personal choice or he consulted the opinion of the new manager Mauricio Pochettino before signing them because the connection between the players and manager doesn't show that they were Pochettino choices.
Chelsea is not the only big club that has been diving in second half of table. I can name two other big clubs, Manchester United and Newcastle United. They are not far each other in the ranking table as well as don't big point differences.
899  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Psychology and tips on: September 18, 2023, 01:07:37 AM
Utilize Risk as a Tool (Leverage Risk)
You must understand that risk is an integral part of trading but can be used as a tool at minimal levels. Readjusting your stop losses and incurring losses in a bit to reduce your loss isn’t an ideal approach. After a proper setup involving a moderate risk management, allow for trade to play out as most times, we incur the losses we are avoiding when we go readjusting our stop loss.
When you use leverage, you take bigger risk. When you face with risk, your mentality will become less stable. When you cope with bigger risk, your emotion will become more chaotic and as psychological effects, you will make more bad decisions which are affected more by your emotion and uncertainty as well as fear that you will lose money by bad decisions.

In fact sometimes you make good decisions and open good positions, but your fear and uncertainty force you to close your position, exit it before you can take profit. It is not worst. The worst comes when you miss profit, you open next positions more emotionally and then actually end them with losses.

What if we will only see the same united in UCL?

The club is still struggling in EPL. I expect nothing from manchester united this time. Being able to to go the play off stage will be big achievement for manchester united. Manchester united has been coming to the UCL without any preparations.
Playing in domestic league is always easier than playing in Europa League or Champions League. I don't expect Manchester United will be a different, in means of better team, in Champions League than what they shown in Premier League. They must improve their quality, then performances in Premier League to build up confidence for their players, before can make better performances in Champions League.

They have many problems in all areas especially defense that have yet been resolved. Those problems are barriers for Manchester United to succeed in Premier League and Champions League.

Teams from Serie A cannot be underestimated in the Champions League this season. The reason is that Inter Milan, Ac Milan, Napoli and Lazio could possibly make a bigger surprise like they did in the previous season. I'm sure Inter Milan is highly regarded by their opponents.
Chances for them to repeat success like the past season is slim. They are not actually too strong clubs compare to other big clubs in Champions League. So their success depends a lot on luckiness and I am doubtful that those clubs from Serie A will have luckiness in two consecutive seasons.

Quote
Apart from that, the rise of Bayern Munich will be a big threat to other teams because they are increasingly integrating their strengths. It's just that they really miss Manuel Neuer in their goalkeeper position. Harry Kane's presence will make the competition in the Champions League this season even more interesting.
Kane actually improves attacking power of Bayern Munich and he will be very helpful for them in Champions League. They are already one of strongest clubs in Champions League and with a striker who is ambitious to win big titles, first big ones in his career, Bayern Munich will become more dangerous. They also have some good attacking midfielders who can support Kane with key passes for him to find goals.
