People, how it is possible to trade in AE not with NXT?

I have a Tronsmart Quadcore Android TV stick.

I can be in Amsterdam within 15 minutes.

Just need to install that damn thing on the stick I think.

Here is my small tutorial:

OK, here we go. Small tutorial on running NRS in Android TV stick.

Tested on Android TV stick, running 4.2.2, RK3006 Rockchip, internal sdcard.

1. Stick has to be rooted.

2. install Complete Linux Installer from app store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zpwebsites.linuxonandroid

3. Go through all steps as it on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b17Bfza1X3A. I used small 13.10 image, because I installed it in internal sdcard. Extracted it takes 2GB. Important: use ext2.zip files if your android is less than 4.3 and you download them manually from http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxonandroid/files/Ubuntu/13.10/

4. If you did everything as instructed, you should see Ubuntu running on your device. Install java in ubuntu. Important: install oracle java

5. Now copy Your next folder to your desktop folder in ubuntu

6. goto to nxt folder, open terminal window in this folder, type java -jar start.jar sh run.sh and here we go!!!

7. Now you can use chrome browser in android TV stick (no need is to have one in ubuntu) and check everything is working.

Didn't try on other android devices, but I think it should work on any android device.

Ask if you will stuck at some moment (i stuck 10 times in 3 days Smiley), I'll try to help.

Try to run everything in your stick, interesting to have second stick running NRS Smiley

EDIT: red changes to client 0.8.x

I'm gonna try it.  Cry

It's enough to be at simple user level at Android and Ubuntu (as I am), but you have to be familiar with it a little bit deeper Smiley. Good luck and post how do you succeed.

@Fatih87SK and martismartis:

If Fatih is willing to take on the job of configuring his TV stick for NXT and delivering it for the conference, and martismartis is willing to help out with advice, tech support and configuration, u guys will make me very happy.

I can't make any solid promises about payment right now, but keep a record of the hours that u put into the TV stick project and I'll get some bounty for both of you from the conference budget. If i ever sort out a conference budget...... Grin

No problem. I'd like Fatih87SK to succeed on his TV stick. Maybe he could write better instructions how to do it Smiley

Fatih87SK, please feel free ask me if something goes wrong with your stick, for first time it was a little headache to me to run NRS on stick. Second time it took me 20 minutes to do this. In any case, waiting for news from Fatih87SK.

Guys, do you need any Android TV stick for promo at conference? If there is a need, I could configure one and send to somebody attending in conference. Inform me, I'll check the cost of it.

What about this I offered? If it is not interesting, just inform me, I'll throw it from my head Smiley

P.S. I live in Europe.

I'll have it.

Having 2 ( or more) different low-cost/low-energy NXT nodes on display can only be a good thing.
Check out the total costs, including some compensation for your working time, and post/delivery costs and get back to me, please.

Give me country where it should be shipped. I live in Lithuania.

Good afternoon people. Could somebody explain to me the following:

Somebody (j777) issues asset "BTC" in AE. Gateways is working, technically it is possible to sell and buy BTC in AE.

But I also have real BTC and want to sell them for NXT in AE. As it is already "BTC" issued in AE not by me and I'm not an owner of this asset, how my real BTC will appear in AE and I can trade them? Will I need to issue "BTC1"? This question is also for some other "universal" assets.

Did I miss something or do I need to go for beauty sleep for a while? Smiley
You can deposit your real BTC with any NXT gateway using whatever method they have. For multigateway, once you get a deposit address, you just send your real BTC to that bitcoin address and it will appear in AE with the corresponding amount of multigateway BTC.

Alternatively, you could create a BTC asset and list it and convince people that you really do have the BTC and you really will redeem it when they want and then sell it on the AE.

The 1000 NXT fee will discourage the second approach as issuing and maintaining any real asset is a lot of work and should not be undertaken lightly. If it only cost a few NXT, then some people will try to issue their own assets and it will become quite a mess.

Look at the work Anon136 is putting in for his silver asset. There are entire companies that are being created to become an asset!

James

Ok, Thank you for explanation. But what about other "universal" assets, which is not related with cryptos and gateways? For example, I want to trade "salt" in AE. I issue asset "salt" with quantity of 1000. Sometime all 1000 of "salt" is sold, and I want to add "more" salt to AE. It will be "Salt1"? What if my competitor also has the same "salt" and wants to trade it in AE?

While debate about asset naming started, could somebody answer and/or explain my thoughts?
You should have issued enough assets to cover all the salt you thought you would ever use and put the issued but uncollateralized assets in holding. Maybe I need to create an asset holding service to allow people to do incremental issuing of assets. That would make it much easier to do this without being accused of fractional reserving

It seems that decisions are being made behind closed doors against my advice on the Asset Naming and we are about to get identical names implemented, even though we can never go back from that. We could always do the reverse, but it seems that I am too busy coding now that I am out of the loop on the key decisions.

So, your Salt will appear as Salt 72857 and competitors salt will be Salt 94893 and that will magically instill an urge into every salt purchaser to conduct a due diligence research into which Salt is better and why the price is difference, etc. No chance of it confusing the user at all, we all know how much people like to investigate things thoroughly before they purchase $2 worth of salt

James

Bold part could be a solution. But what about possibility for asset issuer to increase (not decrease) own asset quantity later? Could it somehow harm the whole concept of AE?

I think @salsacz was thinking about having the NXT core itself his mobile phone.
I wanted to know if this video will be truthful: http://youtu.be/cP4KFH6Iz0g?t=37s (Nxt cryptocurrency: green energy (green coin mining) )

Yep, I know. Smiley

It requires NXT core on the mobile phone. Otherwise, you would not forge ON your mobile phone. Wink

Theoretically it is possible to forge on smartphone, but it's complicated for now. I can forge on my Android TV stick, but need to root it and install ubuntu on it. For now my TV stick works as public node. I tried to do the same thing with my Xperia Arc, but with no luck, NRS kills the ubuntu on it. I don't know it is memory or processor related. It's quit old smartphone, but I didn't try on newer ones.

Little summary for the average joe like me who will need to make nrs ready on windows7,
please complete if needed :

* download last NRS (message 1 page 1 of this thread)
* unzip
* install last java client if needed
* create .bat file with notepad++
code:
Code:
"c:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe"  -Xmx1024M -cp nxt.jar;lib\*;conf nxt.Nxt
*install this .bat in the main nrs folder unzipped earlier

* double click on your new .bat file
* wait a bit

* in your browser, enter these adresses:

http://localhost:7876/admin.html

http://localhost:7876/alias.html

I know it seems a crap step by step but it may be usefull to some, there are clients
but people need to understand a bit how to use Jean-Luc work.

To use NRS you need to type http://localhost:7875 instead of addresses you typed.

Is testnet running? I cannot enter to it with Wesleyh standalone NxtWallet client.

It's running fine for me on the web client. Block height is 86318.

Strange. Then something happened with standalone client. It starts, but stuck for a long time. I do not have possibility to enter passphrase.
