881  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Submerge your rigs in liquid on: November 02, 2012, 07:34:44 PM
Submerging your gear in oil actually works pretty well.  But there's one downside.  Forget about ever salvaging or reselling that gear.  Once you dip that stuff in mineral oil, you will never get it all off.

Thanks, I never knew that. Do you guys think mineral water could cool a card as powerful as a 7970? Or will it overheat?
882  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Anyone starting to sell GPUs? on: November 01, 2012, 09:11:16 PM
I am keeping my GPUs and my whole rig intact. We are going to see a rise in gaming and a fall in productivity among the Bitcoin community XD
883  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best place to get Raspberry Pi? on: October 31, 2012, 11:20:49 PM
My friend bought the 256mb version when it came out and got it within around 2 weeks from element14.
884  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: October 31, 2012, 05:06:08 AM
I would guess they are going to ship right around the last day or so of november so they can say they met the november date guideline.

Gonna be a slim chance of that happening....  https://forums.butterflylabs.com/showthread.php/251-More-Jalapeno-Pictures-amp-Shipping-Update

Wow they look very sleek! It's amazing there is no fan needed even considering the low power/high ghash usage.
885  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL refunds works flawlessly and fast on: October 31, 2012, 03:17:21 AM
Thanks for cancelling your order......LOL. One less to delay my order.

And less difficulty :p
886  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Difficulty drop on: October 30, 2012, 07:54:12 PM
What do you guys think is up with the Bitcoin rise? We just hit 25,000 Ghash, up from 20,000 Ghash just 2 months ago. I'm not making as much coins now Sad
887  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Obama or Romney more likely to support Bitcoin? on: October 30, 2012, 01:51:35 AM
I can't see any president ever supporting Bitcoin. But who cares, bitcoin is by the people and for the people.
888  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I need to reformat computer... on: October 27, 2012, 11:11:32 PM
I suggest just sending them to mtgox, but make sure your account has google authentication. I have been hacked of 5 coins before authenticator was available.

There is also Christmas coming up and new ASIC that people are investing in.
Christmas is an aspect. I've bought one gift already with bitcoin and have plans for a few more.
I've only been involved in Bitcoins for a year now, but I bought about 1/3 of last years presents with BTC. The difficulty was quite literally 1/3 of what it is today.

Yeah I used to make like 1.3 btc a day with my quad 7970 rig, now I only make .8 :/. What seems to be driving up the difficulty?
890  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [POLL] Mining Solo or Mining Pool? (once ASIC products are delivered) on: October 26, 2012, 12:06:35 AM
I think you're better off solo mining for about a week if you're the first to receive an ASIC SC have a decently sized portion of the Bitcoin network. But once everyone else gets their ASICs, you will have a smaller chance of mining coins.
891  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: What is better Ozcoin or Eclipse on: October 24, 2012, 11:35:01 PM
I mine on Eclipse, it has been great, although the US server has gone down twice in 2 months. No biggie, I just switch to the EU server and it's all good. My first pool was Slush, then Deepbit, now Eclipse.
892  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: October 23, 2012, 01:20:20 PM
Here is a video of mine, haven't really taken pictures:

I actually don't mind the delay, more time mine with my Quad 7970 rig Smiley
894  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Suggestions on Power Supply? on: October 19, 2012, 03:14:47 PM
I use this PSU:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194092&name=Power-Supplies

It powered a watercooled quad 7970 system with a 3770k and lots of fans, it has been mining for 6 months non-stop and has never given me an issue. Even though the breaker in my room has gone out countless times.

Here is a video run through of my rig:

895  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best 7970 card for cooling/quiet on: October 19, 2012, 08:46:47 AM
Best cooled/quiet 7970 is a watercooled 7970 XD
896  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GPU MINERS: What is your Electricity Cost? on: October 18, 2012, 06:03:36 AM
I pay $0.09/kwh. I use about 1050watts with my quad 7970 watercooled rig. I noticed the watt usage drops to 1KWh when I dust out the fans, keeping the system cooler and more power efficient. I just have to get some more air dusters soon XD.
897  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: my system's are 1.6kwh?! on: October 17, 2012, 04:08:58 PM
My Quad 7970 watercooled Rig uses 1KWh, memory at 170, core at 1160, stock clocks. Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-A_NlkGvbM

You should invest in a Kill-A-Watt

Haha nice! How long did it take you to carve out the troll face?

Where do you get these anyway?
900  Economy / Lending / Need 400$ dwolla loan on: July 11, 2012, 08:13:03 PM
Hey guys, I need a 400$ Dwolla loan. I am going to buy shares in a glbse.com IPO that opens the 14th, but a transfer from my bank to my Dwolla will be complete around Monday or Tuesday of next week. I can pay back 415$ then, I just would rather give the fee opportunity to someone here, than say bitinstant. Now that I think about it, I could pay back today via PayPal gift, let me know whichever way is best.

Thank You!

Josh
