@OP, Auditing means checking each line of code for possible bugs and recommended actions maybe suggested inorder for a smart contract can function only what they are intended to do according what the projects usecase as an auditor you need to have a solid background in coding, I dont know any software for now that can automatically detects bugs in codes and offer recommendations, its something that manually done by skilled professional coders. so I dont think a normal investors can audit it in a very simple way its really complicated job.

I dont agree with this two btc and eth are one with the slowest chains today when referring to tps yes  this two can process in seconds but you need to pay more fees inorder to prioritize your transaction so far I can vouch for the speed of XRP, XLM, NANO and Tron since already used it many times and all of them can process fast with very cheap fees or 0 fees at all oh I forgot Temtum also has really fast chain with 0 fees. 

Thats correct mate especially if those exchanges you are using have no insurance like small exchanges some big exchanges promised a safe funds like Binance who have a SAFU feature but we cannot really sure if this is 100% an assurance or just a false advertisement to attract users in their platform but the very best thing to do is if you want to hold your assets for a long period of time send it to your personal wallet. 

This happened to me many times specially in spot trading just analyze the chart, see the news and buy the dip and have patience I have been a victim for being very impatient and rekt many times sold too early and after 2-3 days of selling price go to 3-5x dont ever sell your coins in loss wait for break-even or have atleast a profit.
