881  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: October 31, 2016, 08:59:07 PM
I'm going to take all the extra money I have over the winter and invest in a couple coins like
Lisk, Augur etc
hopefully one of them is successful and in a few years returns a huge profit.
I will probably split my buys 50/50 between some altcoins and Bitcoin.
882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZEC biggest fail ever so far?? on: October 31, 2016, 08:48:00 PM
I'm sure the devs are quite happy with the results,
as are the government agencies monitoring the operation.
You're a fucking fool if you use this coin for anything illegal IMO.

/tinfoil hat off
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which incoming ICO to invest our BTC into? on: October 31, 2016, 08:37:23 PM
almost all of them are shit and as barry silbert mentioned recently the sec is gonna start exterminating them soon. I dunno how many developers are anonymous but I hope most of them are.

Crypto currency ICO is the hot new moneymaker.
Teams of devs are going to be cranking out shitcoins like never before, especially after what happened with Zcash.
I expect 99 out of 100 coins produced in the next year or two to be total vaporware that gets pumped, dumped, and disappears in a matter of months.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins potential in a year from now (List) (25/08/2016) on: October 31, 2016, 05:00:15 PM
Yeah I've decided to stop checking the exchanges so much and just hope for long term profits.
I've got too much work to do to worry about a few dollars gain or loss.
All the coins I bought are things I believe could have potential over the next few years- Augur, Factom, Lisk, etc
so the daily price doesn't really matter to me anyways.
885  Economy / Speculation / Re: 700$ - Support became resistance on: October 31, 2016, 04:56:27 PM
Yoyo $10-20 until we hit around $750.
I'm not sure if we will reach $800, but I'm fairly certain this will be the last time to get Bitcoin close to $700 for a while.
886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin just broke All Time BTC Low --> RIP on: October 31, 2016, 03:35:14 AM
OP is making these threads all the time.
I can't tell if hes trolling, trying to get people to sell LTC so he can buy them, I have no idea LOL.
But its certainly entertaining.

Litecoin hasn't really moved much.
Is that being stable, or being stagnant?
Everyone wants big gains but there is certainly something to be said for a stable price in an uncertain market.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 31, 2016, 01:41:39 AM
Lol 5-10 years?? No one will hold that long with clear mind

People that bought stock in Google and sold it after 10 or 20 years are the ones that made money.
I don't need the money now, and I believe the company has the potential to become big.
It's not a short term investment.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: October 31, 2016, 01:30:53 AM
I've bought a couple Nemesis XEM after people mentioned it in this thread.
It's definitely an interesting coin. I've read the website but I still don't understand how "harvesting" works as opposed to traditional mining.
I tried to open the announcement thread here to get some more information but the forum is still not cooperating with me.  Tongue
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 30, 2016, 10:47:23 PM
5500 in less then 3 weeks.

I really hope so.
I've been picking up Factom slowly any time I have a bit of extra cash, and sold some other coins over the weekend to pick up more when I saw how much the price dropped.
I'm in it for the long haul. I'm just gonna buy FCT and hope that five to ten years from now it pays off.
890  Economy / Speculation / Re: $700 HIT ^^ TARGET 900-1100 on: October 30, 2016, 10:43:37 PM
As I expected, it went up a bit and then down about $10-15.
Should probably go back up a few dollars a day until it hits the $710-720 mark by the end of the week, if price follows the recent trends.
891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Barry Silbert Reveals 10 Bitcoin Predictions for 2017 on: October 30, 2016, 02:44:02 PM
I think the SEC looking into ICOs and exchanges is a sign that Bitcoin is really heating up.
Government bodies and regulators are starting to realize that crypto coins aren't just a bunch of kids messing around on the internet,
and that there is a lot of money being made here.

Whether more regulations are a good thing or a bad thing is a topic to discuss for sure.
892  Other / Meta / Re: Another DDOS ? on: October 30, 2016, 02:38:37 PM
Just got a message that my session token was invalid, please log out and log back in again.
Was able to sign out and sign back in but site is still lagging randomly.
893  Economy / Economics / Re: Paying taxes on forum? on: October 30, 2016, 01:09:19 PM
Now that exchanges are getting bigger and starting to come under the scrutiny of regulators,
and the number of Bitcoin users is getting larger,
I fully expect to see more mention of crypto currencies by lawmakers, and eventually some more laws passed regarding their use.

As of now it's not really considered a taxable income anywhere, I don't believe.
894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: October 30, 2016, 01:03:56 PM
Will fall more? If I started buying, but with much uncertainty  Undecided

Still might go down a bit, so its probably not a good short term position.
If you are looking for a long term hold, the last couple days are a good time to buy and not look at the price for a few months.
(That's what I'm doing, at least.)
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is Craig Wright doing now and where is he? on: October 30, 2016, 12:53:29 PM
I'm doing great, thanks for asking.

I'm currently on holiday, travelling around Europe.

Does Craig Wright really post on this forum?
I guess I wouldn't be totally surprised.
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best coin to buy on polo now? on: October 30, 2016, 12:48:57 PM
Last couple days were a good opportunity to pick up some cheap alts.
I grabbed some Lisk, Augur and Factom.
Hopefully at least one of these pans out.
(I'm looking for a long term investment, not a quick flip.)
897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ether price? on: October 30, 2016, 12:45:44 PM
All things considered, ETH held pretty strong over the last couple days.
Probably a good sign if you are invested in a long position.
898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZCASH - What is this shit? on: October 29, 2016, 12:57:47 PM
I think the smart investors will scoop up some of the coins everyone else is dumping to buy Zcash.
At least one of the alts posting double-digit losses will bounce back.
Someone will make a lot of money, and I don't think it's the people paying multiple Bitcoin for ZEC.  Grin
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 29, 2016, 12:54:40 PM
Holy fuck I went to bed to a pool of blood and woke up to a sea of red.
Literally half of altcoins on Poloniex are posting double-digit losses.

I still think this presents a really interesting opportunity.
Personally I'm going to put a little bit of my money into Factom, Lisk, Augur, etc and not look at the prices for a few weeks.
I like to gamble and hopefully at least one of the projects isn't a total bust.  Wink
(Crosses fingers)
900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Upcoming ICO's we should analyze? on: October 29, 2016, 12:46:03 PM
With the amount of money being generated by the launch of Zcash,
we will certainly see a new wave of coins being developed.
Prepare for a bubble not seen since the dot com days of the early internet.

Personally, I'm going to stay away from any ICO for a while.
(And probably alt-coins in general, unless someone can show me a project that really has something special to offer.)
