Any chance to slow down the price increase?
It is a bit distracting to see it continue to make new highs
If this keeps up the Pump&Dump cartel will select BTCD for its pump of the day and this no good, too much volatile

They are already on it. Look at the recent charts and you will see the clear manipulation. It's no secret really. If you feel frisky you might want to join in and gamble on their dump order. You can lose quiet some coins tho if you place it unwisely.

Also the only problem I have atm with BTCD is that it stays and falls with James. If he disappears, gets hospitalized, dies or whatever the coin will crash pretty fast. Other devs working on it should also make more comments on progress so it at least looks more stable and not so one footed.

Unbelievable!  Sure can't step away very long without missing a plethora of amazing news...... and I thought development was moving quickly 24 hours ago........ we've just hit hyper speed!  And so has the rate of increase on the price....... wish I had picked up more when I had the opportunity.  Amazing work james, utterly amazing dude!!!!!!

Yeah glad I picked up another 1k when it sill was at 14. Now 28 and rising fast.

Seems like with every line of code James publishes the value rises exponentially Wink

Price is already going crazy, so I will sneak in another bit of news, it probably will get lost in all the excitement. Not really that big of a deal as we are not on any Chinese exchanges (yet), but I am having the darkpaper translated into Chinese.

James

Awesome Smiley well the price is indeed going crazy. Considering all the developments that are coming out this is only just the beginning. Top 10 very soon, Top 5 a little later. All crypto will benefit from BTCD.
yes
my goal is to make all crypto much more powerful
I do not believe in zero sum game many play
when market is growing exponential, everyone can win, of course some will win more than others Smiley

Also, anybody thinks BTC is going to be dethroned anytime soon, needs to study Microsoft DOS -> Windows history
It wont matter how good the alternatives are, the network effect is too strong.
So if you cant beat them, join them!

BTCD will enable BTC itself to go dark. Very cool
ok, gotta go, too many ideas now, hard to sleep, but gotta rest up for some complex coding tomorrow

HODL!

I have some news. Its not official yet as I just got some early test results and day is late so maybe I made a mistake. I want to verify when I am fresh.

I believe I got multisig support added to telepods. This allows combining of privacy with protection of multisig

So, it took me off the fast track to completion, but I think we all agree it is worth a few days delay to get multisig Teleport

James

P.S. The white rabbit will now have N versions of it beamed across random nodes (third onion layer) and then reconstructed at the destination. Poor guy. Especially since my M of N multisig looks like it will handle up to N of 254!

Awesome James! Thanks for your hard work man.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Sha-256/PoW-PoS hybrid/Bounty Opportunities on: August 06, 2014, 10:29:28 AM
OK, a bit ahead of schedule. I issued the the anon card asset today!

Current price ratio BTCD/NXT is ~27:1 so 25000 BTCD is matched by 675000 NXT, which makes its sale price = 1.35 NXT per asset

The following is the asset description, very short and generic:
Issuer ID: NXT-KKNV-8EPK-W2S4-96VTK Asset number 7110939398145553585

###
NXTprivacy is proud to issue the cryptocard asset which will distribute 1% of processed transaction volumes to the assetholders. This card does not require any personal information. All of the processing and handling is outsourced to coinomat.com. Please check NXTprivacy.org for the latest details on fees and limits. Standard ATM fees will apply for cash withdrawals.
###

The initial text for the NXTprivacy.org site is:

###
We're launching debit card program for easy withdrawal of NXT and BitcoinDark funds through ATM's worldwide and online payments.

Key facts:

- The card is issued by a European bank with a good card programs track record
- This a no-name card; we would need your address for card shipment though
- Card issuance and delivery cost $40 and naturally can be paid in NXT or BTCD
- The monthly transaction volume with one card is limited by $10,000. Multiple cards can be ordered
- Online payments using the card are free, withdrawal fee through ATM is charged by the issuing bank and is 3%
- NXT and BTCD conversion is made according to the current respective exchange rates.
- Processing is carried out by coinomat.com exchange service.

The card will be launched in September 2014.

Our goal in making this card program is to provide an easy bridge for crypto to fiat conversion. In future withdrawal of other cryptos, including Bitcoin, will be possible.
###

So, what we need is to get the NXT account #'s that correspond to the people that donated. And noashh (who has helped me before) has volunteered to coordinate this to save me time. So get your NXT acct (make sure to use high entropy password) to icecoldtommy.

Once it is distributed, then it could start trading on NXT AE, actually nobody can stop this, so it should have some immediate liquidity. Plz dont complain the NXTprivacy.org site is not ready yet, this all came together much faster than expected thanks to awesome BTCD community!

James

P.S. For those worried about the need for postal address, we will also be arranging having the cards available at tradeshows for a cash basis, so you can meetup with the NXT booth and pay cash and grab a random card from the box of pre-issued cards. Then register the number at public internet shop.

This is so awesome, thanks for your hard work guys! You really are doing great things for cryptocoins around the world.

Quick update on the dividend payout. We were not able to get the USD converted into BTC as scheduled on Monday. I am re-scheduling to get this taken care of as we were not able to meet as planned. This should be taken care of within the next few days. Thank you for your patience.

Hmm, so I'm guessing you do person-to-person exchange (dark alley, flashing headlights, obscured faces of dark silhouettes sort of things).

Very romantic Smiley

As long as the dividend pays out soon I don't mind how they do the exchange  Grin

Can someone write up a quick guide how to set up your BTCD correctly to get the maximum stake? (Let's say for example splitting it to 10 wallets)
To get the maximum stake keep coins in one wallet/address and try to keep all coins together, you can use coin control for that

So what you are saying is to ignore the various guides from members telling us to split into multiple wallets to get maximum stake efficiency?
yes

Care to explain?
Having coins split in many addresses will just lower their minting weight, yes you will get more minted blocks but they will all be like 0.00... and by having 1 address with all coins gathered in one piece you will gain weight faster and get minted block like 0.5(example). Also important is that after your minted block gets all confirmations you use coin control to resend coins back to your address becose after they stake they split in 2 chunks. Depends of your coin size but you can get about 3 blocks in 2 days with 5-6k BTCD which will be about 1.5BTCD in 2 days

After I read jl777 guide on how to maximize staking I had to read a little about POS to understand how it works. I guess a crucial question I need answered is, when a stake finds a block isn't the reward supposed to be independent of the amount of coins inside the stake but instead equal to what ever the reward is for that block? As far as I understand the amount of coins should only influence how fast a block is found, ie. the difficulty for your wallet to find a block is proportional to the amount of coins (relative to total staking on network) multiplied by the time it's been staking, or did I miss something?
Because in that case, if we'd suppose a stake after it has found a block will start staking again right away, without being locked for a period of time, then splitting one big chunk into a multiple would still get you the exact same amount on average after enough time. to prove that you just need to draw x-y axis, x is the time, and from x=0 that's where the staking starts, a line is drawn where it's slope is equal to the amount of coins. let's say on average at y=1 you get a block. then dividing your stake to N stakes, you create N lines with slope S/N, and after N periods of time, your original stake would have earned you N rewards, and your small stakes would each earn you one reward but multiplied by N the number of stakes, so same rewards. But since there is a lock time after a reward is found, the amount of time lost with your funds locked is N times smaller if you spread your coins to N wallets instead of one big wallet blocked N times after each reward. I'm just not sure about the amount rewarded if it's independent of the number of coins or not.

Would be good to get a definite answer from a dev on this.  Cool

you can always test it, split all your coins in 2 addresses, leave all coins from address number one, and from number two split them in 10-20 addresses, so you will see which way you get more

You did this and came to this conclusion then?

In my country there is a proverb that said :
Reason of some people is what they see !
I'm not going to force you believe me but the below story is a real story and For me it does not matter you guys believe that or not !

The story :
I always rent rig from beta rigs !
Two days ago i rented two rigs : One of them was 10 MH/s scrypt and another one was 110 Mh/s x11 .
And these are graphs .

In picture 1 :

From start to 11:20 the rig was mining on wafflepool and it's showing average of hashrate is 75-80 MH/s .
I thought the rig has problem then i switched to Multicoin on dedicatedpool.com from 11:20 to 13:15 and saw the rig is okay and average hashrate is 103 Mgh/s
Again i switched to waffepool but this time to another server eu.wafflepool.com:3331 by d=1.28 password and saw again hashrates down to 65-70Mh that is a little larger than 25% stealing hashrates .
After that i was sure waffepool stealing hashrates i switched to dediclatepool until ends of rental time .

In picture 2 :
Form start to end i was minig on wafflepool scrypt algortim and the pictrue is showing average hashrate is 8 MH/s .

During all time graphs and 15min approximated in the wafflepool was showing 10 Mh/s and 110 mh/s .

Sorry for my english but waffepool is really scammer.

Damn. Wafflepool confirmed scam. Now I see it too!  Roll Eyes
