8802  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed to spend $45 billion a month on Treasury bonds on: December 14, 2012, 07:40:05 AM
It isn't based on trust, it's based on deceit, central bankers have been lying for centuries about how much their fiat currencies are worth and now finally people are catching on how these notes are made, they're supposed to be backed by gold but of course they're keeping tight lipped about where it all is. As far as I'm concerned, no government should be able to borrow money in the name of the taxpayer because the people who borrow this money don't even pay out of their own pocket, you should either raise the money through taxes or not at all. Otherwise it just simply isn't mathematically sound and that's how inflation gets started as the central bankers come in acting as lenders of last resort.
8803  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What I learned from MtGox, Coinbase, Bitcoin-central, etc on: December 14, 2012, 07:04:18 AM
This kind of thing will be really helpful actually, the one thing internet does pretty well is point out scams etc. you know a company is bad when there are several thousand people calling them out.
8804  Economy / Goods / Re: More hand-poured ingots coming... on: December 14, 2012, 06:55:01 AM
You do realise that could be worth far more in that form than in ingot form right? You should probably take it to an appraiser and see what they think of it first.
8805  Other / Off-topic / Re: They call me the Grinch on: December 14, 2012, 06:52:25 AM
I don't hate Christmas itself, I think it could be a very nice idea, what pisses me off is all the bullshit like where you're constantly pressured to be sociable with family you never see etc.
8806  Economy / Economics / Re: Annual Gross Income and Currency Debasement on: December 14, 2012, 06:49:32 AM
It's effects the price of everything because the newly printed money is now in circulation this means that the currency you have has less value and means you can buy less things with it, some companies i.e Goldman Sachs/J.P Morgans etc. would get the printed money in the form of bailouts which they then in turn also invest to companies that are listed on the stock market so that adds to the devaluation.

They really are a bunch of devious bastards lol.

Because the Syrian Rebels like the Libyan Rebels are likely supported by the Americans.

8810  Economy / Economics / Re: Annual Gross Income and Currency Debasement on: December 13, 2012, 12:26:00 PM
It's not the income itself that really gets affected from what I know but rather how much you can afford, so what inflation does it causes prices to rise far more than any speculative trading could cause and that means if your employers aren't getting extra money from money printing both you and they have to work longer and cut costs even further in order to pay for things that would previously be lower in price.

This is a completely made up example but:

You normally buy a loaf of bread: $0.95

inflation hits from printing: $1.95

inflation hits again: $19.95

inflation even more: $119.95

depression: $1119.95

it will keep going like this until the printing stops, normal people often don't get affected usually in income but rather in the price of ordinary items, your employer is likely going to get even harder hit than you are because they are having to support an entire company and deal with more expensive things than just the usual basic necessities which of course means loans for the business etc. if a government gets desperate you might see your income actually rise slightly as they try to keep the inflation going but in the end it's all just going to collapse.
8811  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to really make money as a newbie on: December 13, 2012, 09:38:14 AM
Yes, sounds great, until you realise you have to sign up an email address to receive thousands millions of spam emails to earn any kind of money.

If you guys want to earn money the big difference between Bitcoin and conventional currencies is honest people will actually be able to pay you because Bitcoin is worth so much now, what is needed are people who are going to run legitimate and long term businesses that offer an actual product for Bitcoins, so go get thinking on what you'd like to make and sell it.
8812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Economic Growth - What do you want? on: December 13, 2012, 08:22:33 AM
I'd just like to see Bitcoin companies that don't revolve around mining and have a real long term plan to be a business, not just a blatant scam.
8813  Other / Meta / Re: Only the loud survive on: December 13, 2012, 08:16:06 AM
There's an ignore list that's great to use and has made my time on this forum much more pleasant, use it, I don't register on forums or places any more that don't have a working block function, what you describe is precisely why I don't go on a lot of forums anymore, when they lose there are people out there who just try to troll/harass you off the boards.
8814  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If society was an organism... on: December 13, 2012, 08:12:19 AM
Governments aren't smart enough to be the brain, the brain is the people, I vote for them being cancer too lol.
8815  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed to spend $45 billion a month on Treasury bonds on: December 13, 2012, 07:26:41 AM
Johnyj, try thinking for a moment, where is all that money going to come from to purchase the bonds? Oh yeah! Printing! Because there sure aren't countries that can afford it in taxes! Tongue Just like when the banks got bailed out the government had to ask the fed for money to do it, how did they get that money? Printing again! You think the federal reserve actually has any money of its own? Trust me, it doesn't, even if it did have stuff like gold for instance which they have reportedly been stocking up on, they certainly aren't going to share it with you muppets, you're getting conned and you don't even know it, it's the ultimate scam.

lol you're welcome marcus_of_augustus, I just thought I'd put it up because I was watching CNBC and Bloomberg when they were making a big deal about it so I thought it might be interesting.
8816  Other / Meta / Re: We need more transparence on: December 12, 2012, 09:05:19 PM
if you pay attention to common sense

What should be done to users who ignore forum rules? (for example, deliberately refuses to post topics in appropriate subforums ?)

Moderators can just move them? It's hardly a big problem that, especially considering the amount of spambots you can get if you aren't constantly on guard >_<
8817  Other / Politics & Society / Re: People and opinions do change (me 3 years ago) on: December 12, 2012, 09:01:45 PM
Happens to all of us, I almost thought about joining the army when I was younger, definitely would have ended up losing it and shooting a superior officer.
8818  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed to spend $45 billion a month on Treasury bonds on: December 12, 2012, 06:36:28 PM

8819  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed to spend $45 billion a month on Treasury bonds on: December 12, 2012, 06:16:05 PM
lol dunno, may have been a rumour but $45 billion has been officially announced now.

Edit: oh wait double checked, looks like they're going at it for each month for sure
8820  Economy / Economics / Fed to spend $45 billion a month on Treasury bonds on: December 12, 2012, 06:02:32 PM
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20121212/NEWS03/121219860

The fed are on the move and are printing money like crazy and trying to inflate the economy even more, I can feel a depression coming, gold has just spiked massively.
