New offer: if I don't receive a donation of 10 BTC by noon US mountain time on Monday the 24th, I will call upon the dark powers and curse this forum.

Likely results of a curse:

increase in number of bugs and crashes.

greater governmental surveillance.

hackers.

deletion of important user information.

Possible results:

health problems for forum staff and users.

Bad luck for the same.

Server crash and massive information loss.

Please donate BTC to address in my signature.

Well, with the GLBSE shitstorm, and apparent SEC pirate investigation, I suppose we're on our way to feeling the effects of this curse.

But...I'm not convinced. Server crashes would be cool. Health problems would be super convincing, but I can't say I'd like to see that. Maybe they could have their personal websites vandalized or something more harmless like that. Smiley

If I see more evidence, then perhaps we can talk about a money blessing. I know of some 500k BTC that are in limbo, that some people would really like to get back. Is that too big a job for you? (for some reason, I don't have much money to spend on such a blessing, but I could pay you in pirate debt Wink )

I completely agree with you.
8930  Economy / Services / Re: LF bash/bourne script programmer. on: October 01, 2012, 10:35:24 AM
Hi, I can finish up this important work for you in no time.
I know a fair bit of bash, and I would be happy to work for you for a low fee because of my low skill level.

Is this enough expertise for the job? Just send me a PM if you're interested in having me work for you. Thanks!

for 10btc I will teach how to get a friend, cause I am a big believer in "To give a man a fish you feed him for a night, but teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime"

8934  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever encountered other beings or aliens? on: September 30, 2012, 02:46:14 PM
I have never seen an alien but I believe I've seen a UFO.

It was in 1978.

A HUGE triangle shaped craft flew slowly over my house. It made no noise. It was completely black with no lights.

When I say huge I mean about 1 mile on each side It.

it flew so close to the ground and so slow that it could not have been a commercial aircraft.

It was square edged.

I remember this sighting as if it were yesterday and I've always got my eyes to the sky looking for more.

Before anyone accuses me, I was not on drugs. I was 11.

Well that explains it.

Just wanted to announce it somewhere and this seems like the best place.

Welcome to Off-Topic, the small but cozy refuge of the cool.

He means weird people.
8936  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sorry, y'all: Game Over. I'm about to buy all the bitcoin. on: September 30, 2012, 02:44:06 PM
Aaaaaaaand they're back:

   Whois Server: whois.yovole.com
   Referral URL: http://www.yovole.com

Does anyone who speaks the language call or write to their domain registrar ( http://www.yovole.com ) and request a take-down?
This must have been a nice and profitable scam to be this persistent after both easzpay.com and mtgax.com got shut down.   They keep posting where bots pick it up and retweet, like forum and reddit threads, etc.
I can write and speak in Chinese - but I doubt that'll do a fat lot of good here. Chinese registrars don't give a damn about take-downs unless it's from their government.  Undecided
Never know you are a Chinese. Then file a complaint to the Gov.

The government doesn't care.
8937  Other / Off-topic / Re: McDonald's Monopoly Hash? on: September 30, 2012, 02:41:03 PM
While I still can't help but wonder what hashing and checksum system McDonald's is using, I've discovered that it won't be possible to write a program to try all the possibilities.  The McDonalds playatmcd.com website limits each logged in user to 10 codes per day.  You'd have to create almost 6 trillion login IDs to their site to submit enough codes per day to try them all.

Proxies + multithreaded cracking = potential success

You get laughed at by all the Android users whose phones already exist and work well without controversy.

I put in the check the US Postal service failed to deliver for their $5 billion shortfall in funding their retirement plan yesterday.

You get a 601k.

I put in Paul.

I get Jane.
I put in Johnny.

The 2nd place donator is far more interesting.

And who is this interesting person?
