I noticed you can select a language on the website. I guess you used something like Google Translator?

Because when I look at the Dutch version some parts of the site (especially the Why CB section) don't make sense at all  Grin

If you want I can translate it to proper Dutch. PM me if you are interested.

Thank you friend. We are in the process of completely rebuilding the site with a brand new and improved design and text. I will reach out once complete if we need your assistance.

It is with great pleasure that I announce the most recent updates from the Cryptogenic Bullion development team!

Client Version 1.1.6.6:
-   Updated splash screen
-   Updated logos
-   Updated checkpoints
-   Fix to getbalance vs listaccounts discrepancy

Download here:
http://www.gotcrypto.net/#download

Work has already begun on Version 1.1.6.7 scheduled for release in about a month. Below is a sample set of the features we are looking to add in the next client:
-   Visualization of PoS staking and estimated time until next reward
-   Button for unlocking wallet to stake instead of having to go through the console
-   Update checkpointing code

Lastly we have been working on a complete rework of the website (design and content) which will be released shortly.

Stay tuned!

Good job elambert! Looking forward to v. 1.1.6.7.
BTW if you need help with the Italian translation of the redesigned site please consider me!

Will definitely keep you in mind, thank you!

OP updated, thanks guys.

Yes, that looks better!

I have bean thinking, got two ideas and would love to hear your opinion on them.

1. New feature for the Client: Is it possible to Integrate a News feed in the client? There we could have announcements about new updates, events, votings, etz.
Most CGB owners are likely not following this thread, so they are unaware of the exiting developments going on here and would also miss the opportunity to vote for the bter.com poll right now.
I am not sure about the technical possibilities, but I am sure that it should be something doable....maybe Ariface can comment on that?

2. Right now we have a huge opportunity to get CGB on to bter.com, but I am sure we will have a hard time to compete with all those new coins that have a big swarm of miners that want there coins to be added to an exchange so they can dump them better.
Now we could make a bounty and pay every voter 0.001 Bitcoin, but obviously there is no way of telling if some one voted or just says to have voted. And I believe I have found a way that people will actually vote.
My Idea is to make a raffle thread that asks every one to vote for CGB and to reply with there bitcoin address, the raffel rewards should be realy high (maybe 1 btc ?).  Rule is, the raffle will only be paid out if CGB wins and gets added to bter. I think this way we should get a lot of votes, what do you guys think?

I like the thinking here but giveaways are banned on BCT so this would have to be via Reddit or alternative...

Also, we have the following to focus efforts on as well:
1. http://www.coin38.org/ - I received a tweet from btc38 (Chinese alt trading site) encouraging us to get involved in their forum to promote CGB for potential addition
2. http://www.ecoinfund.com/ - 2nd in line to get added per voting structure. 191 of the necessary 1k votes
3. https://www.mintpal.com/ - pretty far down the list but climbing fast considering we were just added to their voting poll less than 1 week ago
4. https://www.allcrypt.com/voting.php? - 16th in line to get added but climbing fast

Since I seem to have started this questioning of elamberts commitment and image I guess I should respond, firstly to thank him for his response. It wasn't quite the statement of pure dedication that I would have loved, but it would have been silly and unfair of me to realistically expect that, and the dude replied at a time when he could have simply said, sod this, I'm at a wedding, I'll deal with this crap when I get back (which is what a lot of people would have done).

I can kind of see where the issue with the 'professional image' comes from, but why the hell should we expect elambert to become some faceless entity with no life for the sake of anything, let alone something that is peer-to-peer. For me, peer-to-peer is a big part of why I got into cryptocurrency. It represents people providing a service in a better way than that service would otherwise be provided by a faceless entity that is blind to everything but profit. The people behind CGB are what makes it. Development team and community. I prefer it that I know some stuff about elambert, much better than being told some anonymous dudes trying to get me to invest, but hey, he's not willing to reveal anything at all (like it is with a lot of altcoins). That is majorly dodgy to me.

Anyway, from what I've read so far it seems like this new structure is good. Things seem to have been given a bit of a kick with recent events and I now have more confidence in the coin than I did. Hopefully it will continue, and keep the info coming guys. I'm sure there are some new ideas in the works, keep the community up to date and involved and if there's anything we can do, say so. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

Thank you for the kind words Trevor, I do appreciate it.

To reiterate what PSD said, the newly assembled team did have our first of recurring meetings last night to align the new development team and to discuss the direction for CGB. The meeting went extremely well and I am more excited than I have ever been at the level of interaction, creativity, passion and team work exemplified. CGB is in very good hands! Our Director of Marketing and Strategy, PSD, will be making a formal announcement soon to update the community of the ongoings with the development team and most importantly the development of CGB. Stay tuned my friends and thank you for your faith and support!
911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 03, 2014, 08:10:21 PM
We could start up a CGB donation to get listed on Mintpal.  Non-members can vote 3x an hour, members 6x, and votes can be purchased for 0.00005000 BTC each.

Getting listed on more exchanges would be beneficial imo.

More exchanges is certainly a priority. I would recommend that the community continue voting. We are climbing the poll ranks quickly and will have a new team announced and a new client in place very soon so we can continue on the growth path that PSD has so tirelessly outlined.

Hi guys,

congrats on the currency, I like it a lot!
However, I have one big problem, after downloading wallet version 1.1.6.5, I am getting:
Code:
WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download or notify developers.

Isn't this the last version of the wallet?
Also I guess I will not be able to mint any PoS stake this way?

A new version of the client is under construction and will be released shortly.

Thanks guys.
1. Avatars cannot be changed on bitcointalk
2. A quick blurb about my family in my bio? You think is negatively effecting CGB?
3. I used a real life example from yesterday as a specific example in response to my dedication, commitment and character being attacked
915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 02, 2014, 06:54:53 PM
I think CGB has very strong fundamentals with the limited supply and deflationary aspects that encourage savings.

Leadership is essential to the success of any business, and that was clearly demonstrated yesterday.  Instead of panic, elambert took the high road, found a new developer, and restored confidence to the community.

Thank you my friend.

Additionally I would like to mention that I have been away at a friends wedding this weekend. I think I have shown that I am dedicated despite hardships and can be counted on to make sure the interests of the community are attended to. I will let my actions speak for me.
916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 02, 2014, 05:13:34 PM
@elmabert

I think you owe it to investors, believers in CGB, and the community in general to come clean about your commitment and, more importantly, ability to dedicate time to this coin/project. You have said previously that you have a full-time job and other businesses if I am not mistaken, and so it seems unlikely you can attach too much importance to this project. Now doubt this is leading to the question in some investors minds (and it's starting to appear in my mind too) that this was never really nothing more than a bit of a money maker like the vast majority of alts, rather than something that genuinely had big ideas, big innovations, and big potential. To clarify, I'm not suggesting this IS the case, just that you cannot be surprised if those concerns start to appear. You have done a great job of presenting a friendly, helpful and enthusiastic public face, but ultimately that is meaningless without actions, and many people have been able to do this is in the past who then turn out to have completely different agendas. Again, this is definitely NOT the accusation I am laying on elambert, I only mean to say that being able to put on a good public front is not enough. There is no doubt that Mercury would not have made the accusations he did without at least some basis. So I guess what I have to ask is, are you the right man for the job? Are you willing to put in some time, and more importantly effort, to deliver on something you believe in even if this means sacrifices have to be made elsewhere? Or is this just a side project with a few nice ideals and the potential for a bit of a profit?

Anyway, sorry if you think I'm out of line, this isn't intended to be as harsh a criticism as it probably sounds, there is some really good work you've done and I can't possibly know the full picture. But I just wanted to raise some questions and hopefully the community can learn a bit and be given some confidence from your response. Thanks.

Fair enough. First off, you have heard one perspective of past events which I experienced quite differently than how they were portrayed in the version you heard. I am not going to launch into a public airing of he said he said, sorry. Secondly, I am not a developer. I came up with the concept for CGB and have to the best of my ability worked to support the talented developers I have worked with. I have made sure to recruit and support the best developers I could find. I have invested a lot of time and money in this venture and continue to do so. I give what I can and yes I have a family, son, full time job and a business venture. I am spread thin but I am not CGB. CGB is an open sourced community run project (just like Bitcoin). Has always been. We have assembled a talented team of 7 individuals who will work together to keep CGB moving forward and the community will be integral to success.
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 02, 2014, 03:47:38 PM
Thank you for the clarification PSD. Just so the community is aware, PSD is one of the new official CGB team members and will be heading marketing among other things. Official titles will be announced soon.

? until new wallet comes online

They get their information from the old block explorer which is down. We will launch a new explorer to resolve this issue shortly.

Quick update for the community. It has been a turbulent past 24 hours that caught me off-guard. I again apologize to the community as these events were not handled in a manner that I approve of or that the community deserves. Whats done is done though and we can only pick up the pieces, learn from this and most importantly move forward!

I am pleased to announce that a new development team of 7 has been assembled! We are scheduling our first of recurring meetings for early this week after which I will announce formal position appointments. There will be some other announcements as well and we are looking to release the new client next weekend.

Thank you all for your continued faith and support, you all deserve better and will get it.
