https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXez338kg-8IOHK's Research Fellow Prof. Roman Oliynykov talks about the collaboration between IOHK and ZenCash, most recent projects including the treasury and a consensus scaling protocol. Roman Oliynykov is a Ukrainian cryptographer, IT security researcher and lecturer (professor). He graduated from Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics in Ukraine with expertise in Computer Engineering and Security, and after further research activity got his Ph.D. and Dr. habil. degrees in symmetric crypto. His professional experience includes development of Ukrainian cryptographic standards: the Kalyna block cipher (DSTU 7624:2014) and the Kupyna hash function (DSTU 7564:2014). As a professor, he gives lectures on software and network security, general crypto and cryptocurrencies in Ukraine, South Korea and Norway. He is also involved in training of Ukrainian cyberpolice officers. His current projects focus on flexibility and security improvements of blockchain-based technologies.

So my conclusion: to prevent this happening again it is better to fork as soon as possible and please not to an algorithm already used by any coin with more value then Zen. Doing this to protect the network from more attacks should be the main priority for the Zen team.
the real problem here is the lack of vision from the devs. They should have had another algo with a procedure ready to go a long time ago. Rob wrote an article that will be published in about 1 hour.

your post specifically says delete this trolls post lol happy that you ignore me because im just defending my opinion
I'm quite confident MedaR will respect freedom of speech. I knew there was no need to get into details (specific) with MedaR to inform him HOW to respect freedom of speech if posts were to be deleted. Especially, repetitive posts by me and someone else repeating the same thing. MedaR and I are both veterans [He, Air Force and me, Marine Corp]. If you know his credentials, you would know he needs no "specific" instruction regarding how to respect freedom of speech when monitoring a forum. I apparently had to get "SPECIFIC" with you regarding HOW to respect freedom of speech to avoid being labeled a "communist." However, I honestly don't give ANY "merit" or "weight" of this "label" from you, pitt59. I doubt anyone else with an unbiased mind would either. I must correct you I'm not Air Force, but yes I've been in the army ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) (Rober Viglione @finpunk is military officer). Anyway, this is for all: I will tolerate everything while it is on topic and while it is non-offensive for participants and others.. So please stay polite. Also notice that im not moderator here on this forum. Better stay on topic, rules are strict, don't mess with moderators..

What is the difference between making a "backup" of my Swing wallet and Exporting my private keys? Do I need to do both to backup my wallet? I would assume I should store these on a USB in a safe place.
Well, it is up to you to choose what method you prefer. I have practice to do both, just in case. Also in my case I'm doing this after every transaction I have made. Yes, store it on the safe place!

Has the ZenCash network been stable and secure to make transactions ATM? I would like to send my coins from windows wallet to exchange address. So, what should I do now? Send them now (due to stability of network) or wait for days later to do those transactions?
“IS MY MONEY SAFE?” Increasing required confirmations to 100 makes another attack highly unlikely, however, if you have any specific concerns about the general security of exchange platforms, please contact the exchange directly. As always, we recommend that users store their funds in wallets that they control such as cold storage with something like a Ledger Nano S or paper wallet. The Zen team will continue monitoring the network and conducting forensic analysis with the affected exchange. All information gathered will be provided to the appropriate authorities. ZenCash remains committed to ensuring the security of its customers’ funds and recommends that our users contact exchanges directly with any specific security-related questions. ZenCash also remains committed to providing timely customer service to our community and will provide regular updates on the situation as it develops. Please follow us on social media to receive the latest update on this ongoing investigation. https://blog.zencash.com/zencash-statement-on-double-spend-attack/?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=ann&utm_campaign=double+spend

Great article on ZenCash Q11. What is the ZenCash teams position on ASIC Mining vs GPU Mining?
The edge case for ASIC mining is that there is a risk of being effectively taken over by a single mining company with asymmetric advantage in hardware. On the flip side, more hash power from powerful machines — if relatively evenly distributed across the community — is a very good thing for system security. In an ideal world, everyone would have a super ASIC, but we don’t live in that world and the reality is that sometimes a single manufacturer can dominate. In this sense, we’re quite sensitive to the network being captured and are actively looking at alternatives to mitigate that risk. Much of our community is in support of changing the hashing algorithm to have it remain optimized for GPU mining, so we take this option seriously and are investigating the best alternatives that weigh risks and opportunities.
Our community is very important to our future and a decision of this nature would have to actively source the opinions of involved parties. What is the problem with Bittrex with ZenCash wallet. It's under maintenance for the second day. I can not send my ZEN ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) The ZenCash network was the target of a 51% attack on 2 June at approximately 10:43 pm EDT.
The ZenCash team immediately executed mitigation procedures to significantly increase the difficulty of future attacks on the network. We are conducting forensics and will forward our findings to the appropriate authorities. https://blog.zencash.com/zencash-statement-on-double-spend-attack/ It was taken down as a precaution and will be up again soon.

Suprnova pool has a major big farm mining with an incredible hashrate, and two more "small" farms... so incredible that does not take to long to have 51% hashrate, in theory... My guess finger is saying to me that new ASICS from Bitmain are beeing tested on Zencash right now... This is infamous.... 16.720.549 Sol/s - half of Suprnova hashes... equivalent to about 2000 units of Z9 mini Bitmain ASICS. https://ibb.co/hPfTv8If we not get ride of this guys ZEN will be severely hurt... Suprnova doesnt attack us, on contrary they are very helpful in this process.
