"To prevent fraud and abuse a customized trust system based on PKI has been designed to weight good nodes over bad nodes, and this is tied to the fee structure to provide an incentive based solution" So how is this trust system and incentive based solution going to work? How does this compare to what's darkcoin is doing? Can someone ELI5? Anyone? Or it's just price talk here? Theres no tech talk in here - just all price for pumps. Go read the unmoderated XC thread - there is more tech in there about this coin in 30 pages then the 400 pages in the moderated thread. Dev doesn't engage with the tech community or answer any questions except for 1 line vague answers about "updates". p.s i dont give a shit how hard he is working - if he wants it to succeed, the community must understand how the solution works.

2. DRK has a mixer (coinjoin) XC has a mixer that is also encrypted? Better for XC?
Did you not read the post above yours - XC mixer is flawed - hard link is proven

Think we'll see 0.015 again anytime soon?
I think we break thru.018 and then that becomes support. Agreed - looks as though 0.018 is the support from here. As we get closer to RC3 I expect the price to gradually rise. If the fork is successful then who knows

8. Honorcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises
Disintegrated into a scam coin. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=645946.0Some of the most popular DRK trolls had this in their signature. I have said it in the past and it seems more and more like a possibility that the DRK trolls have a scam ring going with multiple scam coins launched within the last 2-3 weeks in particular. Some of the scammers then lead the gullible into a "reluanch" of the scam coin aka a pigeon hole outfit to rob them again. Cry foul about DRK, launch scam coin in background, unload coins to exchange, relaunch scam coin as a messiah, cry DRK foul. Rinse and Repeat. 1. XC (X11 / PoW/PoS): It's going at it the wrong way (trusted nodes + coin forwarding from wallet to wallet - leading to lost coins / potential for stealing). They will have to change strategy. 2. Cloak (X13 / PoW/PoS): Laundering through exchanges, LOL 3. Mastiffcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Laundering through exchanges, LOL 4. Vericoin (Scrypt / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises 5. Pinkcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Centralized mixer 6. Cryptcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises 7. Libertycoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises 8. Honorcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises (SCAM) 9. Dreamcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises 10. Cinni: (Scrypt / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises 11. Boost: (X13 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises 12. Anoncoin (PoW Scrypt): IP obfuscation 13. TIPS (PoW Scrypt): Centralized mixer 14. Bytecoin-BCN (PoW): 99% premine of circulating coins + problematic codebase coupled with good anonymity (+2 years in development and still in infancy regarding basic stuff like GUI) 15. Bytecoin clones (PoW): Increasing in numbers every day diluting that field. MRO gets a special mention due to being the first clone. BBR gets another special mention for having a good dev. Still they experience significant problems due to the new codebase. 16. Zerocoin: DOA (?) / delayed for months 17. NXT (PoS): In discussions relative to anonymous implementation
vs
Darkcoin: DarkSend works right now (trustless/decentralized mixing). There are a few bugs to be sorted out in masternode payments.
^^^^^ I dont get why people are so stupid...sheep....Looking to make quick money at such high risk....buy the dev..

There is something I have noticed about this currency that I haven't seen talked about a whole lot, so I would like to point it out.

Yep - Its starting to catch on that bitcoin isnt private at all - and even the bolt on solutions that were created are not secure either. More and more people are realising that an independent solution is what's required (Darkcoin). bitcoin will never fork to introduce privacy, the risk is too high. Bitcoin for public ledger transactions, Darkcoin for all other! All it will take is a website to start capturing business addresses where you can enter someone's bitcoin address and uncover their entire history of spending. Just read the article and I really like Kristov Atlas, he seams to know his stuff. I nominate him to be the third code reviewer So the dream team I would like to see If they would review the code would be: Greg Maxwell Andreas Antonopoulos Kristov Atlas What do you all think ? Yep agreed - we got 1/3 already - I am sure the other 2 would like their 2 cents as well!

gmaxwell, I think it would be great if you could spare some of your time to review Darkcoin's code once Evan has completed it. I have no doubt that you would be able to provide valuable constructive feedback to Evan. Collaboration I see is the key to evolution and advancing ourselves in the crypto technology space - I am sure with both of your minds together something great could happen!
I will, if someone remembers to point me to it— ideally if it also comes with a high level design document so I don't have to extract all the behavior from the code (doing so is very time consuming). As an aside, and apart from the privacy tech— Whats with the claims here that the subsidy was changed after some millions of coins were created? Thats pretty damning if true— shades of Solidcoin. The whole too-low-initial-difficulty plus exponential distribution thing seems to be a trope now. Bitcoin's initial difficulty was high enough (relative to existing hardware and software) that it couldn't even keep up with its 10 minute target during the first year. If I were crazy enough to launch an altcoin I'd set it so that the real mining didn't begin until it crossed some somewhat reasonable difficulty to reduce the land grab intensity, because it smells pretty fishy otherwise. Thank you - Will let Evan know! I guess something positive did come out of all this! To the OP - your intentions were clearly bad - but there's a silver lining in every cloud haha

Previous comments aside- I think based on how respected he is in the community having a core bitcoin dev give the nod of approval would essentially implant this coin as the #2 instantly. However, I hope he is open and willing to provide an honest un-biased opinion based purely on the solution - and not from a "bitcoin is the only solution" approach. So Evan - we have secured you a reviewer - I trust your decision on who you think is best gmaxwell, I think it would be great if you could spare some of your time to review Darkcoin's code once Evan has completed it. but rather your attitude because the altcoin space is the boiler room for tech improvements that the bitcoin team are unwilling or unable to develop.
There is very little technology development in the altcoin space... but there sure is a lot of deceptive hype from people eager to separate people from their money, no surprise when many of the people creating altcoins hardly know how to work a compiler. Most of the time when there are non-strings changes at all, it's just another worthless ill-considered proof of work variant that hasn't seen a drop of peer review (and which is compromised, e.g. failing to meet its "cpu only" promises, the moment someone does review it). In the rare event that there is interesting technological development that I'm aware of— I credit it— which is why I brought up the bytecoin&forks in the context of privacy technology, even though I think creating an altcoin for it is not a good idea and I'm not involved with its development. When Darkcoin is completed, it will be vetted by a respected Developer and if no issues are found open sourced. You created coinjoin. Darkcoin is created from coinjoin. Would you be interested in vetting the code? I review many interesting looking things as I have time available, but only if they are open source. I am uninterested in handling anyone's private code, however. It's getting a little late. This system was created month and months ago, but there is still nothing for me to look at... and now aggressive promoters are spilling into other threads and degrading other efforts that are already delivering or are at least out in the open. I hope you can understand how this creates a very negative impression from my position. gmaxwell, I think it would be great if you could spare some of your time to review Darkcoin's code once Evan has completed it. When a viable privacy alternative to Darkcoin exists, I'll be one of the first to diversify. Until then it is pointless in my view. I do not like the name Darkcoin, however, I see no viable alternatives.
The name will not change, get over it. I have. No worries mate. I was just making the point I'm holding Drks despite the name. In fact, I bet you I'm one of the few people here who have never sold a single Drk in their lives. You are right NEVER sold a single DRK too ! am getting more and they stay in the bag until ….. lets talk in December ….> Now I don't just feel stupid for trying to "play" the drk market (and losing half those coins) but also ashamed! This hasn't been a good day for me, and now this, thanks a lot I'm joking I agree - I played in the past and got burned and had to buy in at 30% higher price!!. Thats why I hold them nice and tight now.

TLDR: There is no other coin on the market that is even in the same league as DRK - why even bother trying fudsters - all questions have been closed off and answered https://www.bitfinex.com/pages/announcementsDear customers, We are pleased to announce that Darkcoin will be available to trade on the Bitfinex platform starting at 6PM CET. It is rare for us to add new trading products, but we believe that the advent of privacy-centric cryptocurrencies warrants our attention. Specifically, we believe that Darkcoin and the team behind it represent the most credible foray into this important frontier, and now that Darkcoin's market capitalization has reached non-trivial levels, we have decided to offer it as a trading option to our customers. As one might expect, will support trading in DRK/BTC, but, in addition, we will the first exchange to support trading in DRK/USD. While we have no crystal balls at Bitfinex, we do nonetheless believe that the new features that Darkcoin aims to implement represents a substantial development in the cryptocurrency space, and we believe that any innovation that enhances privacy deserves our attention. Naturally, we do not condone the use of Darkcoin for illicit purposes, but we do believe in the right to privacy. Initially, we will only offer cash exchange transactions. In time, as our order book deepens and Darkcoin successfully navigates certain milestones, we will also possibly allow swap leverage and shorting, should Darkcoin's risk profile and volatility merit it. Darkcoins can't also be used as collateral for margin transactions. We hope that you that you find these new trading products to be of value to you and we, of course, always welcome your feedback. Best regards, The Bitfinex team

doesn't the network have to agree on what was the initial transaction? Therefore knowing that a bad xnode didn't do what was supposed to do?
xnode owner can change mind. xnode can suffer Windows crash. xnode can suffer power failure. xnode can suffer network interruption. if any one of this happen, coins are gone, belongs to xnode. Truth or FUD? Say. Truth - XC coin transfers the actual coins to the xnode! Xnode decides to keep the coins, there's no way to stop the process. I raised this very early on! DRK on the other hand works alot differently and doesnt have this problem Truly decentralized!

@mike3's "analyse": I know what he is meaning , i know what he is trying to see in the charts... BUT CHART ANALYSE WORKS ONLY FOR REAL WORLD MARKETS
funny thing is, mike's attempt of analysis isnt even close to "real world" technical analysis. all he brings to the game is some shitty google drawing of "bubble phases". thats as close to technical analysis as a formula one car to a bobby car. pretty bullshit to come up with such sketchy "analysis". could it go at or below 0.01? maybe, but personally i doubt it. fundamentals as well - once masternode payments are working in the next week or 2 and the media announces - watch the bull rush. I will bet a new ATH for sure.
