9262  Other / Off-topic / The Pessimistic Thread on: May 03, 2013, 01:06:23 AM
This is a thread that allows only pessimistic and demoralizing posts. All offending posters will be sentenced to 500 lashes with a wet noodle.

I'll start:

It saddens me to see people on this forum take a thread topic, turn it around 180o, and post the newly named thread, claiming it adds value to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
9263  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Amazing Ed Trice! on: May 02, 2013, 10:37:01 PM
While on vacation at an undisclosed location in the US, The Amazing Ed Trice caught a 23lb 7ox largemouth bass on 5lb test line while fishing for crappies. He documented the event before releasing the world record bass back into the yet to be disclosed lake.

Ed Trice plans on selling an eBook revealing the location of the lake for only $9.95, with all the proceeds going toward one of his favorite charities, also yet to be named.

Meanwhile, another line has started up to keep up the demand for the I love Ed Trice t-shirts.

Rumor has it that Ed Trice is running for president in 2016. If he does, he should win by a landslide. To add cred to the rumor, edtrice2016.org/.net/.com was recently purchased.

This guy is so fuckin' amazing!

Coming soon: The Trice Toaster.

Similar to the below, but trice as nice.

Hi All.

It has been a while since I replied I know.
What I can say is that we ARE listening to the feedback you're all making via email/Facebook/twitter and of course here on the forum. There are some very interesting ideas floating around. We are taking note as we need to produce a product that our customers can actually use.

So we will look at producing other types of devices etc.

Sam, you are gonna face competition .. Avalon DIY and other wannabees coming along. Some Avalon DIY guys are buying bulk of Avalon Chips
to make clones of the Avalon Miner for re-sell.. very smart..

Thanks Dan we actually want to see all types of legitimate competition in the market. That puts pressure on all parties involved and should put a stop to companies treating the customers as badly as they have been treated in the past.

We are up for the challenge I can assure you all of that.

Thanks

Sam

Here's my honest opinion: This post is nothing but a crock of shit! Fuckin' Ed Trice could do a better job pulling the alpaca wool over our eyes.

In probably a few days, KNC will be accepting payments to get in the queue and a myriad of customers will oblige, all with not a spec of evidence that something is even the works.

Either ORSoC is behind this or they didn't do due diligence prior to coming on board. Perhaps, an ORSoC spokesperson should register here and give us something of substance. If they do that, than I'll reverse my position and back KNC, but be forewarned, if the project turns into a bust, I will then be sticking it up ORSoC's ass.

Here's something odd: https://www.facebook.com/ORSoC

They joined FB March of last year, posted 5 times, and ONLY have 3 likes to their page. How the fuck is that even possible given the supposed size of their community?

I'm jealous as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore! Is there any way we can go back to the days where we all paid a 3%+ transfer fee for the privilege of spending our own money? This Bitcoin thingy fucked everything up.

Anybody, and I MEAN ANYBODY, who doesn't regard getting in now as an early-adapter opportunity has serious problems and should seek help. Seriously, for these people espousing such a line of thinking have the potential to want to blow something up. Not only does their elevator not reach all floors, they're in a boat with one oar in the water, pushing all the bottoms wondering why they can't get to where they think they want to go in life.

No use giving them a quarter to hunt a clue, for they'll think it's a communion wafer and try to eat it, provided they don't think it's an Avalon chip, readying to build a rig using it as a processor first, and when that doesn't work they'll eat it.
9267  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs just sent me an update e-mail! on: May 02, 2013, 04:34:51 AM
Account server is overloaded at the moment.  I would wait awhile before trying again... you have plenty of time, it's not like your orders will be canceled today or anything.

Thank you, Josh. It's a shame that one little email and a site running a tad slow merits starting another thread to diss BFL. Get a life people!

Everyone stay calm. Remain in your seats and relax. Breathe.

BFL always does this as an accident or mere incompetence.

Do not panic. BFL_Steven is probably going to fix it....probably.

I concur!

9270  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: No FCC or UL label on BFL's Jalapeņo on: May 01, 2013, 05:29:00 PM
I've read that testing for unintended emitters is fairly easy to pass, and way less stringent than intended emitters. Also so is enforcement on unintended emitters, which may be NIL since i cant find and cases about it. So maybe like jaywalking, ya its illegal but... Either way to be in the law ya needs FCC, unless sold unassembled to be classified as a subassembly of a computer peripheral device.

Try jaywalking in Las Vegas where many tourist were ticketed, with some arrested, spoiling their vacation plans.

Hence, Josh putting the naysayers at ease by stating such certification was in the works, but as of yesterday, still no mention of BF Labs on the FCC site.

Which part of vegas? I assume you mean the strip. Doesnt the strip have pedestrian bridges along the length? You should get a ticket if you are jaywalking across the main strip thought that's like 6 lanes of traffic, you are a moron if you do.  Old vegas you can jaywalk, also suburbs?

Fremont Street is notorious for jaywalkers to get ticketed. I've lived in Las Vegas six time, approximately six months each.

9273  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is the bitcoin community filled with scumbags? on: May 01, 2013, 04:49:56 PM
BFL Josh - no comments needed
Avalon- Batch #2 delayed for 2 weeks, no communication
Kano & Luke Jr - Josh three way triangle love fest, hatred for eachother

These companies and developers are the face of bitcoin and they are all assholes. I guess when bitcoin becomes a one world currency it will easily be accepted by the scumbags who run the world. They ignore customers, talk down to them, verbally abuse them, and fight amongst each other like children. Is bitcoin the movement of psychologically disturbed people?

Below is an email to a company where I bought an extended battery from, maybe these assholes can learn a thing or two:

Sorry to hear that!  Here’s how we are going to help...  We have always attempted to treat each of our customers like we would want to be treated, and in light of that I have done two things: FIRST, I have shipped you out a replacement item of:

ITEM:   Hyperion Samsung Galaxy Note II  Titanium Grey Back Cover
 TRACKING #:  *****

SECOND I have decided not to ask you to waste the time to ship back the defective item, and would ask that you just dispose of it when the working one arrives.

Thanks and have a good day,
 Christine
 Hyperion EA

 --- Original message ---

 Hi,

I ordered the extended note 2 battery and the back cover never really seated on the left side. Now it is completely loose only the right side is holding the cover on.

 Please send another thanks

If this was loser Josh, the customer would of been degraded with such comments as "Pics or GTFO" "Liar!" "Or profane filled words", hopefully when new companies and developers enter bitcoin due to it's popularity these losers will die out to the breed of an actual human being, and not the inferior species that they have proved themselves to be.

Let me see if I have this correct. It's because, somewhat, of the issues you duly pointed out that I have expressed concerns of KNCMiner, an entity of which you champion, and have kindly shone upon naysayers like myself with a bad light.

Apologies if I come across as a scumbag.

Testing to see if I could put a URL of an image inside code brackets of which are inside URL brackets, thus making said image clickable.

Confirmed! I was able to do it, though the results weren't what I had hoped.

I recommend trying to learn basic English before trying to debate me.  You're pathetic it at.

LOL! It seems even native speakers have difficulties with the syntax.

April 15th I reported a missing wallet (first transfer after April 1st), didn't hear a thing since. Does anyone have any information on why that's taking so long?

Everybody with less than 50 BTC will be refunded on July 1, 2013, and those with over 50BTC will be refunded on a case-by-case basis.

Take a look at this shocking development:
https://forums.butterflylabs.com/pre-sales-questions/2004-i-want-cancel-my-order-been-week-no-response-office%40butterflylabs-2.html

Do you think he will get his Jalepeno immediately?

Comments welcome...

Something's not right!

I'm sorry for your frustration. Messages are answered in the order they were received. You sent a refund request for this order number on 22 April at 20:23.

Due to high number of messages, please allow 1-2 weeks for responses from office@butterflylabs.com

My sister works for an outfit that ships goods to convenience stores. She single handedly directs the entire fleet drivers replying to over 300-400 emails a day along with her other activities her title consist of, and she's not what one would consider management material, if you know what I mean, but she's able to conduct this task without blinking an eye better than the previous person who had some type of college degree.

She does handle company money in a sense that when a driver reaches the maximum amount of time he's allowed to be on the road, she books a hotel for them, paying for it with the company CC.

If I remember correctly, the CS staff count consisted of  ~6-8 people with more being hired, and that was months ago when that was expressed by BFL.

What the hell has changed?

Quote
Does anyone know what the delivery time is expected to be now if orded today? It seems to in constant flux.

Projection times will no longer be supplied by BFL until units are ready to be shipped, so quit asking.
9279  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Received BFL Jalapeņo Today! on: May 01, 2013, 05:59:39 AM
There are a handful of people who placed orders on the tail end of the FPGA process who elected to wait for the ASICs (since they were shipping RSN (TM)) after they had already placed and paid for their order.  Scared is one of them, and we ship by date paid, not order number anyway, so it's kind of immaterial.

Before I read subsequent posts of this thread, I wish to comment that this is excellent response by Josh, one of which upon reading I have no reason to doubt its validity.
