I emailed mintpal.

Is there anyway to check if someone voted on ecoinfund? I want to know so I can start a giveaway to get people to vote.

Maybe a screen shot before a and after voting?

I feel like that might be a lot of effort for the user, especially since we need ~900 votes and I don't see 900 people flocking in immediately. I'm not putting this off though, I want to CGB onto that exchange.

123 votes, we are second in line to be added! Keep voting guys!

Miffman, how about good old fashioned trust then? I will donate to your giveaway effort. Those that receive will have a vested interest in CGB growth so I think most will be honest. But I am a trusting person by nature.

I have vaguely followed this coin for a while as it seems like a good one.

But, I just went to look on the first page to see where I could possibly buy it and didn't see a list of exchanges.

Website says Cryptys. That's it? You guys keep talking about a great community (apparently all of whom are over at Reddit) and yet you don't have it anywhere. Mintpal, for example, takes in a new coin every week or so, based solely on voting by the communities.

It's not so much that it needs to be on Mintpal (or Poloniex or others) for it to increase in value, it is for exposure to other investors. After someone makes a profit on a coin, they may be looking to do some research on another coin.

I really think that when people hear about CGB, they like it. But, who has ever heard of it? It has a very serious sounding name that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue and has been around for a long time by coin standards.

Attracting investors who are in it for the long run is admirable and certainly a good goal. But plain old buzz isn't anathema to that strategy. Plus, having a bunch of speculators is fine too. A certain percentage of those investors will like what they see and hold on for longer than usual.

I'm not on Reddit, so maybe this is all being addressed already. But, I think that getting on a couple more exchanges would be in the marketing 101 category. Maybe boring, but required. A lot of people don't like or trust Cryptsy.

I'm not trying to be a downer. I just thought you might be interested in hearing from someone who does not yet own the coin, but is looking.

Great post, thank you very much for the input! We are also on the exchanges Coins-e, Coinex and Cryptokopen, as listed on the cryptogenicbullion.org homepage. We are also actively working on getting CGB on other exchanges at the moment. I agree 100% that is a very important aspect for the success of a coin. I personally have not ever heard of Mintpal before and never cared much for poloniex, but will send both exchanges emails ASAP. All help is appreciated, the addresses are support@mintpal.com and poloniex@gmail.com  Wink

I have also emailed them Smiley

Just got a question, does CGB has a central checking point like PPC currently has? Can the developer kindly confirm this. Thanks.

CGB does not use a central checkpoint server.
So how secure this coin is at the moment? The value of this coin is quite low at the moment which would make it relatively easy to suffer 51% attack?

I really live CGB but I just need to understand it a little more about it before buying some more. I already have 5k and not dump even a single CGB.

Since CGB uses a hybrid algorithm (PoW and PoS), an attacker would have to have both, greater than 50% hashing power and greater than 50% of stake. In essence the attacker would need to own over half of the CGB being staked making the attack mainly against them self.

what stops the coin from  forking and having rollbacks due to competing POW and POS blocks ?

Spacing between PoW block generation and PoS block generation has proven to be sufficient to avoid rollback issues. Coins with shorter PoW block times can find this to be an issue.

Some pages ago a user Mangled Blue reported some payout issues, it was a particular case that was solved and the user received the coins just fine, and no other user had issues. Just wanting to update the CGB community with that and thank you all for supporting us.

As always CGB.Minar.cc is waiting for you all to come and mine with us!
The pool is working great and paying out fast with cashouts processed in 5 minutes or less!

Minar.cc Admin

Glad to hear it is resolved! Thanks for your support and the update!

I am not sure if I am considered an insider but I do not know who it is that is dumping. I know of a couple of top 10 holders but I highly doubt it is them dumping. I have been buying CGB since the start so I do have a top 10 status, but I also know that I am not dumping. I am really puzzled by this as the larger holders would either have bought above this current price point or they could have sold at 10x more a few weeks ago...

Sad to see the dumping but happy for the recipient buyers and welcome them to the family and community! And if distribution is a problem, perhaps this is necessary?

Anyway, the last few weeks the CGB community has really come together and begun some amazing work to advertise and develop CGB. It is a great time to get in at a low price IMHO. There is lots to be done but never in the history of CGB (even when it was $5 per CGB) did we have this kind of community involvement actively contributing to growth and development. I think this rut is very temporary as there are far too many talented and dedicated individuals involved and pushing towards a sustained long term objective.

As mentioned, most of this progress is being released and discussed on Reddit. Perhaps those in the community who are actively promoting and developing on Reddit can keep in mind to mirror the Reddit info over here for our Bitcointalk family. I know I only recently started to dabble in Reddit so I am sure others would benefit from this outlet also being updated.

Here are a couple of Reddit links to share with the Bitcointalk community what is happening:

The name of this coin is so cool I have to buy some. It has stuck in my head since I first saw it a couple of months ago. The project is quite interesting from a technical perspective as well.

WTB 2 BTC, please PM offers, .0011 BTC/CGB or less. Reputation thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=436065.0 . Escrow or seller goes first, smaller increments OK.

Why not just buy on Cryptsy? Would probably cost you market price - about .0012.

CGB PoW block reward has halved again today further squeezing the supply of newly minted CGB. At this point only 112.5 new CGB are minted each day via PoW mining. At the current price of $0.72 USD per CGB, this means that $81 of new money per day is needed to be introduced in order to remain at the current baseline price! Any incremental investments will cause a rise in price. To put this in perspective, Bitcoin needs $2,160,000 of new money each day to maintain its current price! Add to this equation CGB's rarity of 1 million coins as opposed to Bitcoin's 21 million coins...WOW! I am extremely excited for the ride the CGB community is going to take and hope that more people seize this opportunity before it is gone!

951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: February 23, 2014, 06:14:42 PM
yep

Mining pools are not run by the CGB team, they are essentially 3rd party services. Hopefully someone in the community can help but this issue would need to be addressed with the pool owner.

I think sharing CGB to the Chinese market should be a priority, would be great for the community to get behind this. http://www.ecoinfund.com/vote.php

Also, please email Bter and ask them to add CGB.: admin@bter.com

I assume its only me, but I've tried to vote at http://www.ecoinfund.com/vote.php without success. Instructions in English will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that along the top of their screen are a series of national flags. Select the one that you are from and the information will be translated. They have changed their requirements to the voter needing to log in to their system via QQ or Gmail - this is probably where you are having the issue. Once you have logged in, you will be redirected back to the voting page and able to vote once per day, per IP. If you get rerouted to a blank page, just refresh until you get back to the voting page.
I will update previous post.
