Masternodes (aka bonded validator systems) act as blockchain protectors from network attacks. They function similar to proof of stake algorithms but using slightly different incentives and market structure.
Masternodes (like with DASH) serve functions like instant and anonymous payments. Additionally, they support decentralized governance where node operators can vote on any issues.
One critique of miners is the incentives can switch from one coin to the next as day to day as profitability and difficulty fluctuates. To remedy that, Masternodes require a set amount of collateral to operate the node keeping operators loyal.
The way Masternodes receive compensation through a dividend-like yield (similar to Bitcoin’s miner rewards).
ZenCash works on a a similar incentive model. First Hard Fork will occur in July to modify the protocol and allow the change in miner reward division to 10% supernodes, 10% securenodes, 10% treasury, 70% miners. Second fork is planned minimum two months after the first one, and it will be focused on the extended transactions confirmation. Got your plan, MedaR. Changing distributional block rewards (more to secure nodes and supermodels) to maintain healthy network and prevent attacks. Then, increasing required confirmations for transactions. Good plan. I have several questions about this competition. Where those ZEN for reward came from? Were those included in listing contract, like listing fee, with Binance? (If you can't answer, please just ignore it.) Is it possible to get reward for Tier B by just depositing 1,000 ZEN right before the end, and withdrawing it right after the snapshot? Not sure but I believe it comes from Binance pocket? It helps them to incrase the trading volume ? vrap.pm Join the Discord channel, I got help from there.  I'm interested in this too. I don't mind what the answer is but Binance runs these type of competitions often and I wonder if it is a requirement of the listing fee or negotiated separately to the listing fee. Maybe, they bought up from several exchanges before listing on theirs. I heard that Binance did same kind of competition with Ontology, and IOST. Its kind of scary to gather huge percentage of coins at single exchange. I hope it won't be hacked, or something similar happens. I will reply to all quoted posts. But because it seemed complicated and not very rewarding I just did not pursue it.
Can I get a supernode with the same amount of Zen Cash as before?

But i am with you in this boat, because i also have enough coins to make a few nodes but i am always postponing my decision because is extremely complicated to configure one node. And dev team done almost nothing untill today to help less savvy people to configure nodes, either getting a less complicated process or an easy undurstandable how-to guide to do the job.... We need a degree in master computing to do the job, and i think i am a guy that understands a little about computers, but not that complicated process of configure VPS, SSL certificates, Linus environment, etc, etc,,, This was already explained, the process for now cannot be more simplified. Regarding security, Windows platform cannot be compared with Linux distros, and as such is not in focus of developers. If you have problems or need any help you can get it on discord channeL. I agree this is litle bit complicated but if you want to be secured forget easy setups. Join discord channel and if you want fast solutions, maybe you can pay someone to setup a node for you, or buy one from other members.. |

Yes you can. you need 42 zen.  Super Nodes introduce sidechaining, and will be able run a bunch of different services. .I think listing in Binance and a project by IOHK’s contribution with a upcoming supernode, it is a positive time for Zen overall.
There were many questions "when Binance"..Binance 24h volume of trade is 2k BTCs, And price is recovered. I think Zen investors must be happy now. If we don't think on price for a minute, we can get bigger picture: Zen has better distribution and access to many people, who previously were unable to join trading. |

Honestly now that Zencash is on Binance, Bittrex and Okex, there is no reason to stick with cryptopia! Probably worth cashing out once cryptopia sort out their wallet issues, if that ever happens.
