ouch.  It makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only moron at times - but I'm not happy about it.  Hate to hear of people getting screwed..  Sorry you got phished...

Well, I learned better, which is the most important part. Anyway, we should probably get back on topic.  Wink

942  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: February 01, 2012, 07:12:13 AM
for the webgui inclined, here is what the fixed and improved node web interface looks like..

the munin stuff is all fixed up and a lot more reliable.  also auto adjusts to the # of gpus installed, dont have to mess with plugins by hand anymore.

Can we get this via /opt/bamt/fixer, or do we have to download a new release? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm new to BAMT)
943  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 01, 2012, 06:21:55 AM
Never mind.. I'm even dumber than I like to admit to..  At some point, I must have had communications problems with GPUMAX.  My miner switched to the backup pool, and I didn't even notice..

Enigma

We all make stupid mistakes. I fell for a phishing scam a month ago... hope that makes you feel a bit better.
944  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 01, 2012, 05:27:08 AM
Currently throwing you a bit of hash power.. But where's it going??

The count of "OFFLINE" and "LEASED" shares hasn't changed in hours, yet I've been hashing (2606 Shares Accepted since I last saw the numbers on the website change).

Is your system having difficulties?  Is all this hashing going to waste?

Enigma

Not meaning any insult, but have you reloaded the page a couple times? Though it's supposed to automatically reload, it doesn't seem to always do so. It's certainly working fine for me...
945  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: 12.1 release (not preview) CPU usage DOWN on: January 31, 2012, 05:38:03 AM
Don't forget it will install SDK2.6 and completely screw up your hashrates.

According to this thread, the effect is pretty minimal, though you do have to clock your memory higher. Upgrading would probably make sense for a hybrid gaming/mining rig.
946  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: 12.1 release (not preview) CPU usage DOWN on: January 31, 2012, 05:30:55 AM
you're kind of late. cpu been gone for a long while now. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=61340.msg715916#msg715916

A long while being three days ago?

Nothing wrong with using a P4, they were sound old chips back in the day. Sounds like 12.1 fixed the CPU usage problem, thanks for sharing. Maybe I'll finally update my drivers.

Also PM'd.

Contracts are available once again!

This still open?

Sorry, it was an XP -> vista upgrade. =) So, I included those years as well.

A seven year stable upgrade install of Windows Vista... Save that computer, it's probably the only one of its kind in the world. Are you sure you're running Windows?  Grin
950  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [488 GH/s] EMC: 0 Fee/DGM/Merged Mining/PayPal Payout/SMS/Yubikey/More on: January 31, 2012, 01:48:29 AM

ROFL! It must be me! Cuz when I mined in the pools infancy and it had bad luck when I mined. I join again last week and look at these horribly long rounds!! Maybe I should just stay away ROFL!

Dude BF3 rocks. You play PC version?
I would meet ya in the game if I could run it on my PC but I lack the RAM being on a 32bit OS and having a 5970...takes like more than 1GB of address space ROFL! so BF3 just crashes.
And I dont wanna get rid of my 7yr old vista install which runs perfectly. GAH, someday Ill have to bite the dust and install 64bit OS.
Anyways, have fun man!

A seven year old Vista install? Windows Vista was released five years ago, in January 2007, so unless you work at Microsoft and have access to really early beta builds, that would be impossible.
951  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GPUs won't mine at full capacity when all of them are on on: January 30, 2012, 04:18:50 PM
I run five 5870s on a 1250W, so power is certainly not your problem. 11.10 is very buggy with multiple GPUs, it didn't work on my system either. I would suggest installing 11.04 and Phoenix according to this guide.
952  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: January 30, 2012, 04:09:38 PM
Looks like the feeding has begun. Mmmm, these worms are delectable!  Grin

I'm getting paid 0.00005 BTC for each share Cheesy

Idiot. If you had even .00005% understanding of economics you would understand why posting that was bad. Thanks for screwing up a good thing.
Hey look at the bright side! Now maybe there will be a fuckton more hashpower added to clear Pirate's backlog!

Luckily (for those of us in) it's still invite-only.
954  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: January 27, 2012, 04:11:54 PM
I suggest some more instructions. I'm not sure what "add pool" does and I can't seem to add a worker. I'll fiddle some more but I highly suggest/request some form of instruction.

Maybe I'm missing something, in which case I apologize.

Thanks for the invite! Cheesy

"Add pool" adds an account on an external pool, which you can connect any of your workers to. "Add worker" creates a worker, with a name you determine, that you can point at a pool you have set up and/or set to accept public work at a certain share price. To see the username and password of the worker (generated by the system), just click the "Details" button on the upper right when you have a worker selected. Does that answer your question?
955  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: January 26, 2012, 04:34:24 PM
It says my worker is connected, but it is not hashing.
I checked on my machine, all it says is phornix r111 starting..... and 0 hashes.
I am using command line, NOT using mining management software like cgminer or things like that.

Have you set up a pool yet?
956  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - The most advanced Bitcoin Client in existence! on: January 26, 2012, 05:19:11 AM
Plus it's not misspelled|misspellt.

True indeed. Spelled differently would have been a better way to put it.
957  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - The most advanced Bitcoin Client in existence! on: January 26, 2012, 04:17:03 AM

This idea is ridiculous beyond any other idea imaginable, first the oh so "scientific" metric system? Now you want us to spell words wrong?!? We will NEVER bend to you Europeans will, no matter how much better your ways of measuring things are.

I am entirely unsure whether that post was serious or not...

I seriously doubt anyone will care how the client's name is spelled, many companies misspell things wrong (eg Google != Googol) and no one ever has a problem with it.
958  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining on an older mobo: Practical? on: January 26, 2012, 03:14:48 AM
Thanks for the advice everyone. As of now I only have one 5830 in that old PC, and I'll have two 5850s in my current mining/gaming rig.

Does anyone have a link to a powered pci -> pci-e adapter they have used successfully?

I also have another question about using multiple power supplies, so I'l start another thread.

Thanks again,
Garrett

Buy from Cablesaurus, their products are excellent in my personal experience. (and they accept Bitcoin)

No you will want at least 1200W, or 1500 to play it safe.

how about this one?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171063&Tpk=cooler%20master%201300w

Just bought for $200

That should be fine. I run five 5870s on a OCZ 1250W without any issues, 1300W is plenty for your setup.

Is there a way to withdrawal just the confirmed BTC

Under the "Pay Me" menu on the right of the "My Account" page, click "BTC" under "My BTC as".
