Sorry, but he got distracted. There are more important things in life Wink

942  Other / Off-topic / Re: if you found won a $100,000 in BTC from sweepstakes how would you spend it? on: January 24, 2015, 03:29:26 AM
I would exchange them to LTC  Grin
IMO that's probably the worst possible thing you could do. You'd end up happier just giving it away instead of losing it on some tanking altcoin.
943  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do them Big Boys protect themselves from attacks? on: January 24, 2015, 03:27:44 AM
with the money they have they buy the best technology to fight it.

What's the best technology to fight hack attacks? Bitstamp was pretty rich and I would think they must have had taken security measures to protect themselves but they still ended up losing a big chunk of money.

This wasn't DDOS somebody got into their wallet. As long as there is money to gain people will find ways to disable protections and hack sites. Every security program will become outdated in time, it's a cat and mouse game.

Hilarious! What an idiot. I hope he doesn't think he actually looks cool acting like that.

He actually is an idiot. I read that nobody from the ST crew liked him.

Back to the topic, here's what I'm listening to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uUJITSZ64c

Don't know the purpose of this but here you go: Total time logged in: 2 days, 15 hours and 53 minutes.
946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 13, 2015, 05:43:38 AM
We never did test the $32 to $45 range. Maybe it's time we did.
That'll never happen, we're seeing plenty of buying action right now and it'll only skyrocket as and if the price seeps any lower. The panic selling is just about over and the bulls' fiat is picking off whatever coins they can and a market switcharoo is a coming.

You're right. The slide from 270s was fast, similar to the slide from last week and we can clearly see a temporary bottom forming. It will again repeat the rebound from last week before going hard up or down again.
947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just a friendly advice for the new guys on: January 12, 2015, 09:40:38 PM
Very well said... It's very true that when you make them, and try to spend them, you see that they ain't worth a dime based on some very small faucet earnings and go back empty-handed... They should learn to invest instead or to gain them by doing jobs for it like writing, translating, photography, microjobs, etc...

Invest? In BTC? With what's been going on with it's price I don't think it's a good idea. If bitcoin keeps losing value that fast nobody will want to get their salary in it.
948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 12, 2015, 05:44:32 PM
Wow, they really decided to buy paycoin for $20  Shocked Great news for the ones still holding Wink
949  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you can get a wife from another country - which country wife you choose ? on: January 12, 2015, 05:37:23 PM
Russian.
I can only fantasize.  Smiley
Not really. I heard that in Russia and especially Ukraine they have more women than men and girls are looking for husbands in the neighboring countries.
950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A theft solution? on: January 07, 2015, 11:55:13 PM
Imagine receiving coins for a legit deal and later finding out they are tainted and can't be used. Now the con man has swindled 2 people, the person he stole the coins from before they became tainted and you.
951  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Class Action on: January 07, 2015, 11:44:49 PM
I've been reading the forum and looks like not many are willing to disclose their deals with GAW. On one hand there's an angry mob shouting scam and on the other those who took the profits.
Most people are hating them not because they lost money, but because of failed expectations. They thought they'd get paycoins for 4$ a piece and sel it back to GAW for $20. Just like that guy who accused them of scam because he put hashlets on the market for x times the market price and they didn't sell.
952  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp's first annual statements on: January 05, 2015, 11:54:31 PM
Now bankrupt?
They lost 5 million out of 65 reported here. Not enough to go bankrupt Wink
In an extreme scenario they could get more if they sold the company and the buyer would cover the loss.
They don't get to cover their losses out of customer funds. If they lost $5M, and they have less than $5M of investor capital available, they are bankrupt.

Remember that they are fees and they aren't a new exchange so they must have a lot of cash on the side. If they really lost only 5 million it shouldn't be a problem.

954  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitstamp closed for? on: January 05, 2015, 11:31:06 PM
I don't think they got Goxed. It will be test to see if we can count with them to future. I hope they will resolve the issue without any funds lost. Kind of like Bitstamp.

GOX was dead long before they announced it. They were faking trades for months and people reported withdrawal problems a year before.
Owners of Bitstamp know that a functioning and popular exchange is worth more than their lost coins.
955  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp - hot wallet problem on: January 05, 2015, 11:26:59 PM

Don't you find it interesting that it happend on the same day bitcoin broke through 12 month low?
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much has GAW/Josh stand to make from Paycoin? on: January 02, 2015, 05:39:22 PM
I think Gaw developed a loyal following in the early days by selling hardware and cloud mining.

Apparently he treated his customers well and many will attest to making money.

Declining prices pretty much made hardware and cloud mining a losing proposition. That's when the Paycoin idea was hatched.

Was it a grand exit plan? Who knows.

They will think of something. They have the money to do it and they aren't people who pack their bags and run.
The facts are that people, who bought hashlets from GAW early made a lot of money, those who didn't because bitcoin went down and mined hashpoints instead, also made money.
If you mined paycoin you also made money, so IMO GAW is a succesful company.

If you came to the party to sell early and bail without profit, don't blame them, blame yourself.
957  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ███ Stay away from GAWminers.com ! ███ on: December 31, 2014, 04:43:13 PM
Beware there is no more floor. Now you get banned for mentioning the $20.
Ban is something you could really use, spammer.

Still pumping? Shill

You don't even know who a shill is, but you know how to spam.

You mean like this one...  NOT my account... but visible.  (I've seen 5 other accounts when logged into my own account.)

Sweet, heavy hitter there.

There are idiots with tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars sunk into this thing. One yesterday was in a bind because he'd assumed Josh would keep the promise of a $20 floor, and was depending on it to repay a loan that was due. Oh, and that was his "safe" back-up investment, which only became a problem because he'd lost money on hashie and on ltcgear when those blew up. I guess that's the kind of mindset you need to have in order to be vulnerable to scams like these.

I know they're adults and responsible for their own decisions, and yes they're gullible idiots, but I still feel sad for the ones who have put more into this get rich quick scheme than they can afford to lose.

If you add together all the people who lost money on companies like lunaminer, PB, hashie, ltcgear, hashprofit, gox, amt, bfl and so on you'll end up with the majority of crypto users. Are we all idiots?
There are no safe investments in crypto!
I'm off to a party, have fun and happy new year!

Stop spamming your scams troll

Go back to spamming bitpop, every time I see a post by you it's a generic one line spam, usually full of curses.
959  Other / Meta / Re: Why is ico/ipo/ito/presale not banned from altcoin section? on: December 31, 2014, 04:35:45 PM
If real ponzi's are not banned and posted in the gambling section, why ban this? In an open market you have to decide for yourself. If you're a fool no amount of prevention or warnings will help you.
