+6.0 = ezeminer

I am surprised to see it over 440 so fast. Maybe that halving buy is starting?
962  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🌟 [DENARIUM] | Next Generation Physical Bitcoins | (ALL PRODUCTS IN STOCK) 🌟 on: April 19, 2016, 05:52:24 PM
Well, I liked the the design of the coin very much so I particpated in the auction but I am disappointed by the overall handling through Denarium.
During the shipping process the top of the coin capsule came off so that the coin got moved around inside the parcel a lot which didn't improve the surface of the coin.
Additionally to scratches there is now some really tiny red fluff from the enclosed cloth on the coin and I have no idea how to remove it.   Embarrassed
I asked for compensation since more than a month but didn't get a real answer because they want to handle all of the requests in one go in order to reduce the workload.

So to summarize:
  • late delivery
  • Instead of A9 I received A14
  • bad communication regarding issues like the +5 Sticker problem
  • Coins got cleaned to "impove" quality
  • promising a premium coin product without using a proper mint so the quality can't keep up imho
  • bad packaging so coin surface got even worse
  • no compensation in an appropriate amount of time were offered (waited more than a month)

0.57 btc is imho to much of a premium for this coin so I will ask for a refund today.

Sorry about the delay regarding compensation, we are a small team and we're extremely busy. That is no excuse of course but we do handle every case eventually.

In terms of the capsule coming off during transit, that is not very likely to happen. Are you sure it wasn't opened by the customs or something like that? In any event we'll handle this issue through email.

Just a general notice to everyone that we have a 2-week return/refund policy (from successful delivery of the product) so I recommend doing first contact within that timeframe. Otherwise I can't promise that we can do anything about the request.
I can confirm that this also happened to me. In my group buy thread I had my capsule open once I got the package. It looks like customs wasn't involved, because the tape was intact on the box. Although previously I had believed customs did it, it is probably 90% false.

Another person that received coins also said that same, "their capsule felt loose."

Went and grabbed my coin today... The coin has swirl marks all over it and a big ding in the bulls head. This is hands down the worst quality coin I have ever purchased. The free coin is pretty rough also...not bothered to open its capsule.

I had also sent everyone in the group buy images of my coin for a reference.

I would say go for the silver coins. Many gold coins have been attempted or done here.

But dropping $2500 isn't easy for what I believe is most of the community.
965  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [(Updated 4/2)USA/CANADA GROUP BUY] Denarium Silver 1 BTC Coins on: April 13, 2016, 08:18:51 PM
Eh why not, I'll still take the grading gamble.    Cool

I will take a look at it in person and then decide if I want to submit or not. If I feel it will grade low then grading is a waste of time and $$.

Fortunately I don't have a lot of graded coins or else I would consider not grading them based on the news I have read.
Personally I think we'll get ms-60s. I think that's the baseline for polished coins?

Please send the payment to the address in the OP. Are you taking part in MinerJones' group buy?

I just noticed your PM Grin. You probably already guessed it but YOU'VE FOUND LUCKY NUMBER 2! You'll also receive a #47 silver plated wallet!
Finally playing video games has paid off Tongue

I just thought of it, but what about our free brass coins? I assume you were not grading those since they are not loaded?
If you want to pay for them to be graded sure. I was just going to send in the silvers, unless people specifically wanted to get their brass graded too.
I will try and get everyone high resolution pictures of their coins by the end of the week. All coins have been resting in their boxes and untouched by myself. I feel like my whole customs problem wasn't actually customs. Someone noted that their coin capsule felt a little loose and it might have come off while shipping.
969  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [(Updated 4/2)USA/CANADA GROUP BUY] Denarium Silver 1 BTC Coins on: April 07, 2016, 04:59:29 PM
Good news, 4 packages went out today.

Also ANACS allows drop offs and pickups for coins, so this'll be great for people wanting to get coins graded.

I got my coins today, thanks ezminer (and mitchell)!

Any reason why mine were taken out of the box that they were sent in from Denarium? Mitchell posted a pic of all the sealed boxes. Mine were not sealed in that original box. Looks like the contents were taken out and put into a USPS priority shipping box.
The box they shipped in was larger than the USPS box. I tried, but it would not have worked. If you want me to get a picture I could.
I just transferred the contents from box to box, they had room in the first box. Also to allow padding to be added. Denarium had no padding, but the items were sorta snug when I opened the box.

Edit: I opened each of the denarium boxes one at a time. Just to not confuse the orders with each other. Each box contained coins and an order invoice. I added the denarium piece of paper telling what they are and what they do just because 9 were supplied to me. Each box matched each person by name or address. Also because my coin was originally opened by who I assume was US customs, I had opened each of the Denarium boxes to ensure that no one else had this problem, as the picture from an earlier post.

Correct me if I'm wrong - don't you just need a priority label to ship priority? It doesn't have to be in a priority box, IIRC. So they could have been shipped in a different box and not opened.

Also, if customs opened your box, you'd obviously be able to see that. The tape would be broken. If the remainder of the boxes were still sealed, wouldn't it make sense to assume that customs did not open them? Tampering with the boxes (breaking the tape) to see if they were tampered with doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Is anyone else bothered by this? No offense to you personally, ezminer, but this is a very security sensitive item. Isn't it important to ensure that the packages arrive at the destination unaltered from how they left Denarium? For all I know, these coins could have been removed from their packaging, or the activation cards switched, or the coins themselves switched. The coins are able to be easily removed from the white card they're on and replaced without evidence of tampering. You or someone else could have physically handled my coin and put it back.

Please help me understand.
I just did a quick lookup about that. It says you can use a non flat rate box with a flat rate sticker. But these boxes here would not have ensured your coins made it there safely. They are like 1/16 inch or something for the cardboard, the only padding you would have received on your coins is the white waxy paper thing, and the bublewrap on the bonus coins. I only provided padding just because you all may have spent a lot of money on these coins depending on what you paid for it.

I cannot be a 100% sure on the US customs idea. First I thought that because all the boxes were taped the same, except mine.

I made a mistake with flat rate boxes because they went from 5.95 to 6.80 since I last shipped flat rate, but kept it at the 5.95 just to not keep changing things around.

I personally have nothing to gain by altering or changing the activation cards or coins. (If you are thinking from a criminal's perspective, you would do something you could get away without people noticing. That would be the smart way correct?) If your activation cards don't work then maybe that can raise some concern, I would recommend contacting denarium at that point. I just wanted to be a helpful forum member in this group buy since minerjones told me he was busy during the time when coins were being auctioned.

971  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows - Trade Safely! on: April 06, 2016, 06:02:36 PM
There aren't many trusted escrows left. I think only 3 or 4 that I can remember last time that I checked when I was looking for one to do a free escrow of funds for me.
Are the paid ones any better to trust with your deals and funds? After the last big one that was witnessed a month ago, I know many are questioning who can be really trusted with a very large escrow amount.

Which is why I'm suggesting people at least consider my suggested method using Part Public Key of the recipient - the Escrow doesn't have any control over the coins (by way of withdrawal) only the intended.

Wouldn't that somewhat kill the purpose of the escrow or how can he negotiate in case of a dispute.

Besides that... creating vanity addresses and building addresse with part keys might be some level of experience that not many traders can follow.
Anyways it should be done offline to ensure safety of private keys. On another machine. It just gets complicated.

You mean like how Escrows are signing messages with PGP/GPG now via an offline computer?

Asking for Part Public Keys might slow down some one who's looking to scam, it'll at least make them sit up and take notice (and pay closer attention).  It's an option an Escrow can offer.
I only read Sebastion's post. But looking at it now, it looks time intensive. I think I have wrapped my head around the concept, but am not completely sure.

I was meaning to secure the generation of bitcoin addresses you should generate them offline.

My ears are burning !

Good first place to start is the e book at http://www.coinfirm.org/, written by Elianite, gives you a good overview of the different Casascius coins. Well worth a read
(Elianite is also about to publish a book of all crypto coins https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1022071.0;all - free plug ! )

Casascius Silver ANACS 2013 MS-64 Bit coin 0.1 BTC Loaded - 500. So thats 1.2 ish
Casascius Silver ANACS 2013 MS-67 Bit coin 0.1 BTC Loaded - 675. This is 1.6 ish

I currently have the following 0.1 coins listed @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1364089.msg13876780#msg13876780
MS69 @ 1.9, MS68 @ 1.5, MS67 @ 1.4
(as well as many others)

So those prices arent a million miles away, but I can beat the 67 price !! Including delivery from the UK.

Feel free to PM me about any of the coins in my sales thread, or if you just need a steer (if you are looking at someone elses coins here), happy to help

Plenty of folks who can help you - TookDK, Blazed, bithalo, Mitchełł, Eodguy149 etc etc many others. Just look at the thread for Elianites book, and you will see most of the physical crypto collectors. They are a friendly bunch, and will help.

Hehe. Thank you so much for the detailed information.

I will buy the .67 from you. I sent you a PM. Smiley
If I recall correctly the 0.5BTC Casascus Silver 0.5 Series 3 are 2BTC, the 1BTC Casascus Silvers are about 2.5. Those are just the silver ones. A gold BTC 1BTC Casascus Silver is like 2.75-3. These are all ungraded prices.

Just for future reference if you stay around in the bitcoin community. (If any of the prices are wrong please correct me)

Well good news is everyone's coins made it.
Bad news, I was the only one who had a package broken into by customs. But good news is everyone else's coins were intact and did not look to be tampered with. I will ship out the people whom had declined to grade their coins on Monday.

Sad Hopefully they didn't leave any fingerprints or marks on your coins.
Small scratch on the front side. But it isn't very noticeable...

I did not receive a message.

Thank you
You should be good now.
