To tell someone about bitcoin for the first time you have to be simple and do not use those tech terms like algorithm and block, etc.. . You just tell him it is a digital money that no one control it and s/he can exchange it to dollars easily and the transactions are so fast and with very low fees

If a lot of people sell their bitcoin in the same time that will not help the price to go up.
 That will cause more supply which means low prices, as supply and demand are the two factors which control the price

I do not think that confirmation time is a problem at all because it takes only few minutes to get the first confirm if you pay the proper fees
