I believe there is no way the Saudi League is doing all that anytime. Because winning the league doesn't get the champion team anywhere. That team can't join the Champions League for example. Where is the prestige in that league then? Just because they are signing mostly old stars does he think the league quality will be topping others?

Some young players also go there but the general situation is like this. I will never be expecting that league to get ahead of any big European league including the Serie A.

Gvardiol transfer is about to get official for Manchester City!

There is an agreement on transfer fee finally and Manchester City have already agreed personal terms with the player. This is going to be another wonderful transfer for them surely. Besides it is a great investment thinking of the future also. Because Gvardiol is one of the special defenders who is this much good at this age already.

He fascinated people with his performance in the World Cup as well which drew the attention of top teams more. There is a quite number of centre-backs in the squad maybe but it might not take Gvardiol much time to consolidate his place in the starting eleven as long as he plays his usual game.

Dortmund don't look like active in the transfer market these days. I'm checking Transfermarkt regularly for new transfer news and rumours but there is no fresh rumour about Dortmund. Jadon Sancho, Cole Palmer and Edson Alvarez have been the most recent rumours for them. But I don't know if they will refresh their interest in any of these players in the coming days.

Sancho can't adapt to Manchester United well as far as I have seen. Maybe a return might be possible. But on the other hand he is playing in the Premier League and for one of top teams there. This would still cause him to think twice before deciding to go back to Dortmund.

Cole Palmer would be a great signing for Dortmund to improve his skills more by finding more chances. This can be beneficial for both sides in the long run.

McLaren have made a really serious progress in the recent times. They are like the second fastest team now considering the latest race. But for now Norris has just the kind of a car he would like to show his skills more comfortably. This even helps Piastri do a good job also. He missed podium slighly due to safety car. I can't wait to watch his development on one hand also.

I think it is still early to bet on Champions League matches from this round. I'm speaking for myself at least because there are still so many teams that I don't have any idea about. I tried to bet on such teams in the past and it didn't end up well for me.    It feels safer to bet on the matches of more known teams than these for me.

This is the last season with the current Champions League format indeed. I wish it didn't change because I find the new one ridiculous. You are in a league-like system but you don't even play with all the teams there. I don't know how fair this system is going to be but let's see. If it doesn't work out well they would return to the previous version I guess.

Lukaku has no other option left other than Juventus now if he is determined to leave. Chelsea are also eager to sell him if possible of course. While Inter have withdrawn from a possible deal and Lukaku has turned down Saudi teams there is only Juventus option left for Lukaku to go for.

Kean and Milik are going to be his competitors in the same position at Juventus if he joins them. But lucky him that Allegri has two forwards in the attacking line of his system. Even if Chelsea had interest in him I wouldn't expect either Real Madrid or Vinicius to confirm this deal. Vinicius is very happy at his team now and he has newly signed an extension until 2027.

There has been a big downgrade in Monaco's performance in the league for the last two years. They finished the 2021/22 season in 3rd place but they finished as 6th last season. Technically they collected only 4 less points than the 2021/22 season. But this wasn't good enough to compete for a Champions League spot. They even couldn't qualify for any European cup this time.

After Philippe Clement era came to an end as of this result they have brought Adolf Hütter to the team. I won't make the obvious joke about his name.    He worked with some German teams like Gladbach and Frankfurt most recently. He has zero experience with a French team in his career.

However hopefully this won't affect his adaptation process in a bad way. Maybe Monaco don't have a squad like they had in the 2016/17 season in which they won the Ligue 1 title with Leonardo Jardim. But they can still do better things like getting in the fight for 2nd or 3rd place again.

Roma have a good potential with Mourinho in fact. They have been doing well in European competitions so far. First winning the Europa Conference League title and right after that qualifying for the Europa League finale. If their opponent wasn't the king of the Europa League - Sevilla - they could have won that title also maybe.

Now looking at Roma's current squad I can say that they have a pretty decent one. But I believe there is still some need to strengthen a couple of certain areas. There is only one left winger and right winger now. They should increase the number of alternatives. I think they would make use of a little more reliable central midfielder also. I know Aouar has just arrived but I don't know if he is the one for now.

Other than these things I think the squad is quite good for doing better things in the Serie A like making it to top 4.
