9721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More than 50% of SegWit support comes from one miner on: February 11, 2017, 02:09:19 AM
It is in our nature to want it all. The Chinese Bitcoin mining industry not only wants control in minting coins and what is included in a block they now are making moves to control development to get what they want. Bigger blocks.

To gain back leverage there must be the ability to do transactions off the chain.
9722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More than 50% of SegWit support comes from one miner on: February 10, 2017, 03:22:32 AM
Bitfury.

Somehow this does feel like 'decentralized' to me.

Bitcoin Unlimited support is not "decentralized" too. Most of the miner support comes from Jihan Wu of Bitmain. So do not act as if you are in the right side. We are all in this together for better or for worse. I have a stake in the network. All my savings are in there, I hope yours are all in there too.
9723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PBOC host closed-door meeting with 9 Beijing-based exchanges on: February 10, 2017, 03:14:07 AM
Update: 8th Feb, BTCC announced closing of CNY deposit/withdrawal on its’ pro exchange. Users may deposit/withdraw their funds via bitcoin.  The policy will be effective on 11th Feb.

There is a Coindesk article saying that users may be able to withdraw and deposit using CNY but they forbid doing the same with Bitcoin and Litecoin. That makes much more sense because it ties their funds to that exchange. Think of what will happen if they allowed Bitcoins to go in and out of their exchange. Those Chinese exchanges would lose a lot of volume.
9724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will we have a Block size increase? on: February 10, 2017, 03:08:07 AM
So, everybody knows the Bitcoin network has a serious issue to solve. Meanwhile the fees cost is going higher and higher and that could sign the death of Bitcoin. We all know that the best solution to that is a block size increase, but when is that going to be implemented???

You mean when will they hard fork to Bitcoin Unlimited? I hope never now that I realize how greedy the miners really are. They want everything, the whole piece of the pie. The Chinese Mining Industry already has so much power on the network yet they want more. To have leverage on them, Segwit needs to be implemented and then the Lightning Network created.
9725  Economy / Speculation / Re: New record being at 1000+? on: February 10, 2017, 02:56:22 AM
Prices rose about 15% in just a week, it looks like the trend of rising prices continues. I predict the price of $1.500 will soon be achieved. I'll hold bitcoin and will I sell once the price reaches $1.200 or more.

Bad prediction. Like everybody else who are amateur traders in the forum you should not be listened to when you make predictions. The professional traders who should be the people we listen to do not post their predictions here because they do not want to give away their secrets.
9726  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it still worth it to trade? on: February 10, 2017, 02:50:29 AM
I wonder if someone still should get into trading Bitcoin at this point? There was a time with incredible aggresive swings so that daytrading was interesting, but now the movements appear but much slower. Is it still worth it to trade?

Whatever happen in the flow of market in trading platform, doing trade will always be worth to do it. As long as there is fluctuation happening inside the graph and coins are many swinging or even swinging are getting slow, still there is a heart beating in the trading stage. It shows only that any exchanger's are continue exist because of their active traders.

How can you say that it is still worth to do it? Are you a part of the top 10% of the winning altcoin traders? If you can answer yes. Can you prove that you are really a winning trader? I am asking since you said trading is still worth it.

https://blockchain.info/charts/mempool-count

The network spammers are back. Over 50,000 unconfirmed transactions again. I should have checked the mempool before sending some coins. Does anyone have a clue who or what is happening? Could the spammers be on the side of the big blockers or core? I can see people from both sides arguing that it is caused by one with the opposing group.

"Greetings, Mempool Alpha. We are currently blocking all transactions. Tatamis Hookason, out."

lmao! nice.

To my campaign manager please do not pay me for this post. Gleb might get mad at me again, I only want to laugh at his joke.

Did you decipher Tatamis Hookason?  Wink

I am not sure if I got it right. Is he a loner, hates crowds, prefers to be anonymous, a brilliant thinker, maybe likes to code in his free time and he wants to become a Japanese?
9728  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it still worth it to trade? on: February 09, 2017, 03:17:15 AM
I have asked maybe 3 or 4 people here to tell us what altcoins are good to trade and to show us proof that they are winning traders since they are so quick to advice everyone that trading them is still worth it to trade. I did not get one answer from any of them. It shows most of the posters here do not care.
9729  Economy / Speculation / Re: New record being at 1000+? on: February 09, 2017, 03:14:39 AM
I'm a little surprised that we are holding above $1000 for so long. I won't buy any more until the price drops down below $1000 because it seems to be too high right now (but I could be wrong).

There are pros and cons to this kind of thinking from amateur traders like us who do not know what we are doing half of the time. A good thing about it is we could get lucky and buy at a lower price but mostly what happens is when it goes up quickly we get emotional and get scared that if we do not get in know we might miss the move. The next thing we see is the price goes to the opposite direction quickly.
9730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to analyze an ICO project going to be scam or not? on: February 09, 2017, 03:07:41 AM
They are all scams. Why do they need to attach a new coin with no use in their platforms? Why not use Bitcoin from the start? The result is still the same. The people who invest in them still dump those coins in an exchange and hold Bitcoin including the founders.
Not all , you cannot say or justifying like that pal
As long as it provide a reasonable profit percentage and run under reliable forum member
I think there is a lot of chance for an ICO become a seripus and legitimate project
You just need to do your own research and make a decision on it!

Ok then prove your point. Please post an ICO project that does not have a ponzi scheme in it. Which ICO do you think can "become a serious and legitimate project" for you?

For your final sentence, since you have done your due diligence and researched on them, tell us what the best ICO project there is and why it is not a scam. I hope you will say it is Ethereum.
9731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IBM and Dubai Government initiate blockchain logistics initiative on: February 09, 2017, 03:00:33 AM
The blockchain pumpers are at it again. The people behind it keep using the blockchain buzzword to scam the Dubai government for money and to use their "blockchain" for whatever purpose the can think of. All they need is a database. There is no need to use a "blockchain" whatever that means to them. In their "blockchain" they have taken out the most exciting parts from Bitcoin and have created SQL. Nice.
This is something that has really been grinding my gears, I do not understand why or how people think that the blockchain is something more than a glorified database that is supposed to magically revolutionize fintech and change it as we know. It is essentially just one large database that uses a lot of electricity.

It has some uses, like stock market stuff, but beyond that it doesn;t really offer benefits.

"That uses a lot of electricity"? They took that part out and that is what I was talking about when I said they are taking the most exciting part about it. Proof of work is a revolutionary concept. How can you take that out in a "blockchain". It is how we all agree and how get to a consensus.

yet another hyperledger advertisement.

im starting to think we should create a whole new subcategory in the altcoin section for the bankers to talk about their hyperledger plans.

They can call it the "Blockchain Pumps".

9734  Economy / Speculation / Re: New record being at 1000+? on: February 08, 2017, 04:06:10 AM
hoping the price will be higher than $ 1,500. it will create a new record in bitcoin world, even in the world of cryptocurrency. it would probably cause most global investors will glance bitcoin, or maybe it will make cryptocurrency made headlines, in the business world.
We don't need new ATH to be noticed, not by pros anyway. Every major investor is monitoring bitcoin already, it would be foolish not to do this.
ATH is more of a bait for normal people, a potential future users, they are always teased the most by raw numbers.
I speak from experience, as I was lured by BTC because of that 2013 ATH too.

A new all time high will create new long term investors in Bitcoin. Why do I say this? Because they will go buy with everything they have as much as they can and then the price will drop hard. Now they cannot sell at a big loss because of fear. Now they have no choice but to keep supporting Bitcoin hoping that it will go above their price of entry which sometimes will not happen for a very long time.
9735  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it still worth it to trade? on: February 08, 2017, 04:02:09 AM
Yes it's still worth to trade. You can trade bitcoin with altcoin or just buy bitcoin and keep it until the price goes up. Both you can earn profit.

It will be always worth to trade because the market is still tough and a lot of coins that are coming but that doesn't mean that you are going to invest to them. Just invest to those coins that are standing still and tough in the market. It also depends if you are a day trader, if you are that type results are on a daily basis.
Trading on altcoin could able to give you decent profits compared to bitcoin in terms of short tradings but we should really be careful on choosing coins on the market since there are lots of coins out there which do pump once and dump hard which would really lose out your money and on bitcoin its really worth to trade specially on both short and longer ones depends on your amounts to spend to trade.

Can you please advice us on what altcoins are good to trade that are not pump and dumps? How much Bitcoins have you made in trading the altcoin market if you do not mind me asking. I have been asking all the, what seemed to be expert traders in this thread the same question but no one likes to give an answer. Maybe they are to modest to tell us their winnings. All they do is encourage everyone to trade altcoins because it is "profitable".
9736  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Mass Adoption even possible.. on: February 08, 2017, 03:48:15 AM
Mass adoption might just be a dream, given the problems being encountered with delayed transactions. I think that will be the biggest stumbling block and will be such a big obstacle to hurdle for years to come.

That is the biggest stumbling block for you? What about the big banks owned by the ruling elite and they also own everything including the government that you so love to follow and support.

Quote
But then there is hope, and we can only hope that bitcoin reaches a point where everyone is familiar with it where banks and governments have set a certain policy towards its acceptance and usage.

I can say that you are not too bright looking at your posts. Try going to your bank and ask an executive if he knows about Bitcoin. If not tell him about it then ask him if he should care. Come back here and tell us what he said.

9739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Mass Adoption even possible.. on: February 07, 2017, 03:48:28 AM
Of course it's possible. But not on 1MB blocks.

Not if the banks still have a say in government policies and laws created. They control everything, they own the world and if Bitcoin really gains "mass adoption" then that means they allowed it. What they cannot take away from Bitcoin is its ability to be a censorship resistant value transfer system. Perfect if you want to be "anti bank".

Why are you saying that? Are you a winner in trading? Can you prove that you are a winner by please showing us your trades? We would appreciate your advice and tell us what altcoins are profitable so we too can trade them.
