981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][WDC][POOL][RBPPS][DDOS-protected] WorldCoin mining pool on: May 16, 2013, 01:48:00 PM
p.s. since the worldcoin network is a bit crazy with 15sec blocks, there will be alot of orphans and rejected blocks, be aware...
982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN][WDC][POOL][PPLNS][DDOS-protected] WorldCoin mining pool on: May 16, 2013, 01:39:28 PM

* server gone to another ddos protection provider, should be less latency/stales/rejects now, please change pool hostname to wdc.epools.org *
* server upgrade done: accepting new registrations again! *
if you have >= 10% of rejected shares, try adding this to your cgminer startup string: -Q 0 -s 1 -E 5

Hey all, I have made a pool for worldcoins: https://wdc.epools.org/
Pool fee is 1.5%, payout scheme is PPLNS.
Only stratum is supported by now.

Come join us!

p.s. my pools reputation thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200074 and here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=203265

p.p.s. please be aware of high orphan/rejected blocks rate. this is due to a huge pump in the network hashrate which is not yet covered by diffuculty raise. please read:

Diff jump!
just wondering about your pool numbers:
     Network Hashrate: 93.19 MH/s       Local Pool: 101.38 MH/s

pool does more than network, uh?

JKC leaders: we need to think about going to an exchange! There are so many around there, I found a few:

btc-e.com
vircurex.com
bter.com
mcxnow.com
cryptonit.net

JKC is growing into a pretty big community now, we need to have a stable platform to do exchange!

My vote is for btc-e.  Lot's of ways to get coins in and out of the exchange.  Seeming much more reliable then vircurex.

btc-e is best i think, easy and clear use. But why hurry to exchange? Last altcoins what have go to exchange have go down really fast and i think there no have way up for these coins anymore.
Because coins are useless until you can spend them somewhere?

AND WE ARE BACK UP AGAIN!!

http://jkc.allpoolz.com is down, I am unsure if it is host related or attack. I cannot tunnel in.

This means I will be moving to one of my VPS much quicker then I first thought.

I will have to buy a another VPS for the pool, at least temporary, as the VPS i had planned for it is not ready yet. I still have service to move off it to the large VPS.

As soon as I can get into the server, I will start copying it over, while keeping the old one up.

I will try and make this a painless as possible.

I'll be honest, this is the first time this has happened.  The host has had some attacks on their website in the last few days, but this was on the entire network.
yep that took both our pools down for few minutes
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][ROYALCOIN][POOL][RBPPS][DDOS-protected] RoyalCoin mining pool on: May 15, 2013, 07:48:13 PM
i'm sorry to say, we had a network interruption for a few minutes. that was a failed ddos attack i guess. everything should go back to normal within few minutes.

Yes, seems hash rates slowly returning to normal. Thanks.
I've just got confirmation from my provider about the DDoS attack. again. Good thing is that we were ready this time and attack mitigation took around 10 minutes instead of going down for hours Smiley

i can report a ddos attack on my pool as well. but our protection does its trick and we're slow but online and still accepting shares.

I have an announcement to make.

Due to time restraints with family and work, niteryder has given me the http://jkc.allpoolz.com pool.

I could not allow him to give it to me, so I personally paid him a nice sum for the pool .I believe he should be paid for all the work he has done. A pool is also a business and as a business person, I could not just accept  a business for free.

The bounty on the pool has also been paid to niteryder, as he did complete the requirements for collecting the bounty.

So, as of now I own/run jkc.allpoolz.com pool.

For now nothing will change, but I will be moving the pool unto one of my VPS. niteryder has graciously allowed me the use of domain name and when I am ready to switch over will change the DNS record to point to the new domain. When niteryder wishes to have the domain back, I will make sure there is plenty of time for people to change over to the new domain, which they will be able to use at any time after I switch the pool's VPS.

One of my goals with this pool is to offer a PPS option, either as a separate pool or as a payment option on this pool.
just wondering how much does installed mmcFE cost Cheesy

Looks like the data center decided to restart my server without letting me know.  http://jkc.allpoolz.com is coming back online now.
http://jkcpool.erundook.net is ddos-protected and is up for >3 days without a single glitch. see testimonials here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=203265.0

Good job, you use the same company I use for my pool.
and i'm using handmade software instead of mmcFE Cheesy

i'm doing my best at it. hope we will see JKC at some exchange soon Smiley
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][JKC][POOL][RBPPS][DDOS-protected] JKC mining pool on: May 15, 2013, 02:18:59 PM
I like this pool.  I'm currently mining as user (String).  Tried allpoolz this morning and within 1 hour, that pool went down.  Back on erundock as it has been up for the past 3 days I have been mining, without a single glitch.

I have a question for the operator though, how are the bonus tripple blocks shared out?  For that block, are shares worth triple?  My payout doesn't seem to reflect the bonus..??..??  For example, I average 5.x coins/block, the 150 coin blocks still show 5.x payout for that block, I would have thought it would be 15?..

Thanks,

first, thanks for your words!
about superblocks: they behave just like any other blocks, their reward is split for shares in round. so its just 1 share cost is 3x more than usual, and that's weird you got same reward for that kind of block, but maybe you were unlucky and sent too few shares for that one. all the block stats are very transparent, you can see how much shares were accounted for block, how much each share costs and how much shares were yours in that block. just try to calculate the numbers and you'll get it.
