This shows how ppl dont understand the concept of BC. What most dont realize is that BC cant be dumped like other mineable coins. Once the pool gets started and assuming everything goes as planned, BC at low prices are history. If you sell now, you will hardly ever see these prices again.
It's posts like this that only shows wishful thinking. Certainly BC can be dumped by whales that hold millions of coins. They have the ability to crash the entire market in one go if they wanted to. Just because it's not mined and coins aren't being generated by PoW doesn't mean the coin can't be dumped. That said, we wont see the same kind of gradual deflation of the currency like other coins. there is no one holding more then 2% of the coins How could you possibly know that? |

The 1% per year means the coin price only needs to rise 1% per year in order for your investment to not lose value. Compare with MINT, the price will have to rise 20% in first year for holders to break even due to higher coin inflation.
1% per annum coin inflation is a big positive feature of BlackCoin. There is no huge new supply of coins to be dumped. If someone wants the coins, they have to buy them at market rate.
Why would the price have to rise for me to break even? Math is hard, but the way I see it, the price of Mint can go down 20% and since I will have 20% more Mint after a year I will still breakeven after a 20% price drop. Why are you are saying the price needs to rise 20% for me to breakeven? To keep same coin price a 20% inflationary coin has to rise by 20% otherwise the coin price drops. It is due to new coins being added to the supply. A coin with 1% inflation does not have this problem, only on a very tiny scale. If everyone always holds their coins it makes no difference. If everyone dumps their extra coins the price gets diluted downwards. Colinfx well put. Too many people who mine and trade cryptocoins have a limited understanding of economics and inflation. Bullshit. If I buy a million mintcoins for $1000 and after one year due to inflationary pressure the price we'll say is 20% lower. Now 1 million mitcoins is worth only $800. But I have 1.2 million mintoins due to POS minting! Explain to me how the price needs to rise 20% for me to breakeven? I can still sell my 1.2 million mintcoins for $1000! You guys are the ones with limited understandings.... Maybe they mean that demand needs to rise by 20% in order for the price to hold, and for you to actually get a 20% return? |

You can leave your wallet locked, until you wish to collect your newly minted coins.
I believe you have to keep your wallet running (even if it is locked) as a node in order to earn newly minted coins but there seems to be a lot of confusion on this point. I have yet to find a definitive answer, and don't have time to go through the code!
As I understand it, If your wallet is locked, you will not be minting. You will still earn 1% interest a year, but instead of compounding daily, it will only compound as often as you unlock your wallet and mint. |

You're right, I'm only speculating and I have no insider knowledge or proof.
Maybe I see trends most miss cause I was around stocks and watched hedge funds and Wall Street manipulate and game various stocks and the market on a daily basis.
I watched a total ShitCoin take off for no reason and some things seemed prepped ahead of time, like the DogeCoin ATM machine. It seemed well orchestrated to me.
What makes it hard to read is that once they give it a boost it reaches commercial critical mass and starts to grow on its own, the media naturally picks up popular trends. So then, the real media hype blends in with the planned engineered hype and you lose track and it begins to look like an organic, natural commercial success when in fact it wasn't.
We'll see if I'm right very very soon.

If I'm right about them doing this, in part for prepping the masses for the intro of their coin of choice, then we should hear about it within weeks, at most a few months, since Bitcoin's image has taken as much beating as it can handle and they don't want to drive it to zero as that would kill any future potential for any alt coins. They need [to steal] these 2 more Board seats and then I think they'll introduce their coin and stop the crazy bashing. That said, the announcement of this coin of choice could come as early as next week.
