Electroneum is a great project which I am equally looking out for but common guys lets not just be blinded by what the price will be so we can dump. The project is one I want to see succeed but focusing on its price alone wont make that happen rather the use of fund raised for its intended purpose is something that will make the price skyrocket within a short period of time.
Don't forget this project has a very high chance of getting global adoption (almost 3 billion smartphone users by 2020), so prices could really go well over 5$ Yes, I agree that the potential is endless!! |

I dont think its going to be real mining. It at most will be a fake screen with running code to "simulate" mining. then after x number of minutes the person gets 1 coin.
It is based on the processing power your phone would have to put towards mining, but it then it doesnt use that processing power so that it doesnt ruin your phone. You are still mining real ETN coins from the phone and no it is not based on just "x number of minutes" Thank you for answering my questions. If traditional miners will be moving actual blocks will this be public information on the algo and how to mine it directly as well? I run a decent sized farm so if I have the opportunity to invest BTC and mining power this is the best of both worlds for people in my position. It is running a modified version of cryptonote, but I have to warn you the devs have put protections in place against "farms". We definately want your support AND for you to mine this coin. ETN coin is for anyone and everyone to mine on their home computers or mobile phones. Miners on home computers are the people powering the blockchain. Thanks Trade_BTC!! |

There will be plenty of step-by-step youtube examples before Nov 1st when you can move the coins at launch I stopped investing in ico because of the current deluge of pure garbage over the past 4 months. I am tempted to buy Electroneum but only on two conditions. Will mobile mining be available the moment this coin sale ends (within 24 hours.)? When mobile mining begins it absolutely must be phone hardware dependant. What I mean by condition 2 is that if some pleb in his windowless mud hut is mining with a galaxy s2 or Trac phone and I'm mining on a galaxy s8+ I'm hashing at a faster rate than said pleb is. If both of these lead to the answers I am looking for then it's time to open a cold wallet for this cash grab. If the mobile mining is just some Java based browser bs then please let me know. Yes, it is available the second that the the tokensale is over and we go live, and yes the better the phone, the more you will mine. This is the first ICO I've invested in , It looks like there is a good team working on it and I can see it being a success. Problems with the iOS app is a concern though.

A lot of Hero Members showing up recently, I always love to have you guys involved in the thread because of the influence of your experience here in crypto land  @shtako - thanks for the support @erre - we have a mobile App thats already fininshed that does allow your cellphone to mine in the background, but there has to be people mining with the CPU/GPU of their home computers to power the blockchain, which also keeps the blockchain decentralized. The mobile mining App, whether it be iOS or Android (which is already on the Playstore but doesnt do much until launch) is centralized and measures the specs and available processing power of your phone, but then doesnt use that "available power" but uses it just as a benchmark to calculate the rate and amount of ETN coins you will be rewarded for mining. Does electroneum already have an iOS/android app developed that is capable of mining? Mobile crypto is definitely the next logical step for this ecosystem, so hopefully these guys can pull it off.
Yes, both are developed and the Android version is already on the Google Playstore and iOS is finished as well but wont be available until Apple approves it after the launch and they see volume on exchanges. We are already confirmed to be on Cryptopia and Yobit and are talking with Bittrex and others as well. The only thing still being touched up is the in App game that people can choose to play if they like and get bonus coins. Isn't there just a handful different crypto currencies apple have approved so far? I really don't think it's likely to see electroneum accepted anytime soon when many established coins are on the sideline aswell. Yes. Crypto is in "competition" with Applepay, which isnt a cryptocurrency, so they do make coins jump through a lot of hoops to get the App approved. The dev team has already made the iOS App and have already had talks with Apple. ETN is to the point now, where all that needs to happen is ETN launch and then be listed on an exchange to finalize the approval process. Cryptopia and Yobit will immediately list ETN and it looks like Bittrex as well. The only thing they are still putting finishing touches on, is the in App game a user can choose to play and get a few more coins than they would if they were just mining in the background. |

I don't understand the point of a "mobile mining crypto coin". Mining on a mobile phone ? With its battery and short autonomy ? I hope it won't involve heavy calculation/PoW system.

ETN is a POW coin with a modified twin algo with a centralized App for the mobile mining. The people who are mining on their home computers are powering the blockchain, so that those mining on their mobile phones are not powering the blockchain. The mobile miners will NOT be using their phone processing power of their phones to actually mine. This way it will not put stress on your phone at all. Hi, I have a question. Will Electroneum issue out more wallet types? I already have found the offline wallet. But will there for instance also be an online wallet or a desktop wallet? Will after the ICO is over my ETN be stored in my account, or do I need to send them somewhere? Thanks.  There will be the App in Android and iOS, and desktop wallets that also mine at the push of a button on Windows, Mac, and Linux. You will send your purchased ETN from the tokensale site to your wallet. These will all be available on Nov 1st when Electroneum launches. |
