XMR is now more profitable than ZEC or ETH  Sad

Sorry to be off-topic but what miner is the best for XMR and how does it compare power-draw wise to ETH/ZEC mining? (AMD cards)

Claymore's XMR miner uses about the same power as his ETH miner. The problem is Claymore focused completely on ZEC and the XMR miner is no as optimized as this one. Still, it's the best available also with 2,5% fee

The XMR miner has already optimsed for the 280X and 290 series. It might not be for the RX series like 470.

Right, that's what I meant  Grin

Dwarf appears to be fully functional again. Most users believe it to be better than flypool but unfortunately lost a lot of miners a few hours ago due to a web server failure
But my shares were calculated for all downtime, and my last 24hrs earnings are the same as before.
The same here. Everything recalculated and recovered.

Yep, me too. No losses due to the failure. But the pool lost some big miners and that is a shame...

accidents but there is a decent pool? actions that do not steal?

I join this question. Any swimming pool? Flypool steals

I'm wondering if I should just leave it running or move until seems to be resolved.

Shares are counted:

Quote
accumulated up to now   ca.1935232   precalculation   precalculation*   wait for block
This number is being increased, only stats are missing.

Dwarf is back online. Let's hope they count all the real shares submitted during this web failure...

I got this on dwarfpool much today Sad ZEC:: No new jobs were received for 10 mins - something wrong with the pool, disconnect. What's wrong to many users or what? Think i gonna change again Sad

Add a failover pool, like flypol. In case of a failure in your main pool, you'll always be mining in an alternate pool
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wolf's XMR GPU Miner on: December 12, 2016, 10:38:25 AM
I suspect most of us that have multi-AMD rigs are mining more profitable stuff like ETH/ETC/ZEC over mining XMR with those cards.

Yeah, but XMR profitability is now close to ETH/ZEC and I wanted to try this miner just in case... Grin
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 11, 2016, 08:24:27 PM
Well i just connected my rig to dwarpool. I'm going to give them 48 hours and report back. I think the best would be that someone with a few rigs with the same cards point 1 rig to each pool and report what they get (Flypool, suprnova, dwarfpool, coinmine, etc). That would be awesome I only have 1 rig.

I've done that but it's pointless...

Let's face, mining is always a game of chance!

I've tested dwarfpool with one of my rigs during a period when the pool was unlucky and taking several hours to find a block. Obviously, during that period, flypool was much better for my other rig.

Next day, I got a different result because dwarf was lucky to find a big number of blocks so my dwarf rig made a better profit.

However, those numbers could not be compared with the previous because the network difficulty was really different!

If you point your rig at one pool in days 1,2,3 and then point it at another pool for days 4,5,6 you cannot compare the results because the mining conditions were not the same! ZEC difficulty is like a roller coaster.

Conclusions:

1 - If you like to get steady, regular payments, flypool.

2- If you don't mind waiting for hours for a small pool to get lucky; dwarf or suprnova.

3- Don't compare what cannot be compared.

4- Keep a close eye on ETH/ZEC/XMR profitability

5- If you have multiple rigs, spread them across several pools, or even several coins.

Right now I have one rig at flypool, another at ethermine and a single GPU mining XMR  Grin

With ZEC and ETH plummeting, XMR is about to become more profitable than both of them.

@Claymore, can you please update this miner?

What? Are you in a hurry to be forced to use SSL or something?

Nobody is forced to do anything. There are plenty options to choose from. I just want to have a XMR miner capable of taking full advantage of the latest GPUs and drivers.

C'mon guys, anyone using this miner on a multi AMD GPU rig?

Can you please help me?

Guys,

Trying to make my way into XMR mining but I'm getting the old error on my rigs:

Code:
Error -1 when calling clGetDeviceIDs for number of devices

I'm using miner version 0.4 on a rig with 6x480 4GB under Win10 x64, Crimson 16.9.2.

This is my conf file:

Two undervolted and underclocked rigs, 6x480 4GB each, stable with v9 for 35 hours.

Win 10,  16.9.2 drivers, -i 8

No issues whatsoever!

Way to go Claymore!

Somehow, I have a feeling this is not the end yet.... is it?

Modern GPUs can still be squeezed a bit more, right?

Go for it!

And thank you for everything :-)

Thanks post, no - Tell me how to paste picture in my post? Or how to add a screenshot here?

Use an online service, like http://imgur.com/

How do I stop it from writing the log file to disk?

Use the parameter "-dbg -1"

Well  lm have to say something about dwarfpool, been mining ETH for along time there , and get all Ive calculated only from 1-3 days after.... So , decisions on less than 1 day mining dont tell enything.  I think when they got more hashing power we will get all we disurv

The question is, will they ever get more hashing power? Right now, things are not very promising to them  Undecided
999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v8.0 on: December 01, 2016, 10:52:30 AM

Yes  but when a person thinks pps. One usually doesn't consider luck. Def my bad on this one. Like I said other day. I didn't think I fully understood hbpps. Now I do!  It's no good!  No wonder it's 0 fee. They need the miners to make their payout scheme work. Smh

BR

Totally agree. I gave up on them too... Cool

Dwarfpool cheating a bit.  Grin
Anytime when you open http://dwarfpool.com/zec page, you'll see in "Last 50 found blocks" that pool found new block with 1-5 minutes back.

But if you reopen this page after 15-20 mins, you''ll se that no block found at that time.

and

Dwarf might be cheating, I really don't know. But I believe you are misinterpreting the info they provide.

The block listed as "2 minutes ago..." is the one currently being mined. And dwarf very seldom is the pool to actually find the block. Therefore, when you open the page after 20 min, you'll see a similar "4 minutes ago..." for another block currently being mined and probably the previous blocks were found by another pool.

Got it?
