1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using Cryptocurrency for Dark Web on: September 21, 2018, 06:07:07 PM
I've searched around the dark web markets just to see what mysterious things I could unfold a couple times but I'm just curious what we're the effects on the market? Is it now easier for people to slip through the cracks buying and selling goods? Was there a massive drop in amount to be paid for said goods? All in all, any information would perk my interest.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You should never doubt on bitcoin investment! on: September 21, 2018, 05:43:32 PM
People are used to live under government incentives: 1. Do nothing productive (or even be counter productive like: getting a degree in lesbian dance studies) 2. Laugh on those that take risks and actually invest in something 3. Laugh on those that fail 4. Those that succeed - demand a share of their property because "reasons" 5. Laugh on those that succeeded and now fund you
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency so difficult to understand on: September 21, 2018, 05:19:18 PM
My journey took me through these steps, each a challenge to master: Paper wallets, Coinbase, Installing and using an Electrum software wallet, and Shopping online with bitcoin. I was helped by many kind and patient redditors, youtube videos, and my slightly techier than I husband who helped to decipher all of it.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin control the market? on: September 21, 2018, 04:43:29 PM
yeah you are right , but sometimes trades though that this is a manipulations coming from the whales in order to control the price of bitcoin and gain more from their usual income.and i think this will be a very helpful for all knowing that this is a legitimate occurrence in the market
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I bought bitcoin at $20k last year on: September 21, 2018, 03:40:54 PM
That's what I did after the crazy bull run September to December, cashed it all out. My fiancee said half, I did all of it - good move too, now I just am bemused, maybe slightly disappointed about everything crashing. If I had left everything in, I would be depressed.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I LOVE PANIC SELLERS on: September 21, 2018, 03:28:27 PM
Yeah, I just phrased it poorly. You made a very good point that too many investors fall victim to: panic is something you'll always want to avoid in investing. But, one also has to be aware of the loss of potential profits by not following momentum and going short during downwards movements.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodlers will not change the world on: September 21, 2018, 03:23:01 PM
The majority of people giving their opinion are usually one way or another "talking their book", so when their book benefits from Bitcoin going up, holding is good, once their book is no longer exposed to Bitcoin or they are shorting it, holding is stupid and bad. And people from the outside looking in, whose book is more traditional, Bitcoin still affects them and their world, so they will also be talking their book and dismissive of holding.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kick against btc now and regret in future. on: September 21, 2018, 03:16:23 PM
Just look ahead. Every second spend regretting, is not only wasted, but is a second less for you to make yourself better in the future. Since youre here in this sub, let me recommend antonopoulous for learning about bitcoin and datadash for investment-crypto-discussion.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High risk results to high rewards on: September 20, 2018, 06:54:11 PM
It’s actually not as high of a risk as others. I️ see tencent holdings as another Facebook, google, or amazon stock. Huge company, tremendous opportunity for growth, and a lot of momentum. Take a look at recent tencent holding news. They smashed their third quarter earning and their stock is going to the Moon.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is crashing due to the falling price? on: September 20, 2018, 06:39:01 PM
It won't happen. The early crashes (2014 and earlier) were orchestrated by a single actor or a bad exchange. Nowadays there's a lot of shitcoins, which if you look past the fact that they are an obvious cash grab, do in fact legitimize Bitcoin. In other words, new ICO's build off the legitimacy of BTC, and at the same time legitimize BTC with their shitiness.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction cost is too high on: September 20, 2018, 06:23:23 PM
What is happening?
will it change after adjustment since the transaction cost is being affected by the crazy price rise
Fees are not tied to price of the coin, no matter what coin. The fees on bitcoin didn't go up to crazy amounts in december because the price went way up. Fees are tied to space in the blocks. Fees got crazy because the blocks were full with a huge back log of transactions waiting so people had to put higher and higher fees to get their transactions sent in a reasonable amount of time. Now at a price of $9000 bitcoin fees are like what they were a year ago at a price of $1000. Price and fees are not directly linked only indirectly through the direct linkage of usage to fees.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Theories with Bitcoin Futures on: September 20, 2018, 06:11:52 PM
Hello guys, what is your theory regarding Bitcoin Futures. Some say Bitcoin will dip, some say will double. What say you? What's your theory? Smiley
The futures would take an extra day to catch up in that case, you would need bitcoin to persistently move over 20% the same direction to lock up the market for longer periods. Possible but even with the huge current runup it hasn't come anything close to averaging 20% a day over a week.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest for Bitcoin on: September 20, 2018, 06:07:12 PM
I remember discovering Bitcoin about 6 years ago with a friend, I was like 18 and broke so I didn't even think about investing. Fast forward to December of last year, I bought $40 worth while Bitcoin was worth over 19k dollars. I laugh every time I check it because my $40 is now worth about $15. Totally worth it.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Tracking Your Crypto Investments? on: September 20, 2018, 06:01:07 PM
Delta is buggy. It has good UI but it looks like developers are not doing any testing. They build the app and launched it. Moved back to blockfolio and using another app Cryptorai. It’s new but has a lot of features including API integration and google backup and sync.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin supply and demand. on: September 20, 2018, 05:56:37 PM
For those worried BTC might not go much higher. There was news circulating in social media about 80% of the total 21 million supplies have been mined and are in circulating in the market plus those are in idles. There are basically less than 5 million btc need to be mined...no need a racket science.. Supply and demand, bitcoin prices will soar high.

I think it's completely the opposite, we can actually analyze the available coin supply and how much BTC is moving around on a per-day, per-week, per-month, per-year, per-5-year period; we can actually analyze everything in Bitcoin because its publicly available. We can't do the same with proprietary fiat systems.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thailand Legalize Crypto currency on: September 16, 2018, 06:05:45 PM
I was in Thailand recently, there were very few places that accepted Visa and Mastercard, never mind crypto, The most widespread form of digital payment was Alipay, and Line this is because, Alipay are spreading everyehere where there are Chinese mainland tourists, since that is a major way to pay, and because Line is the main chat app in Thailand and are moving into payments space like all other non-western chat apps.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung is going to accept Bitcoin on: September 16, 2018, 05:59:05 PM
So first companies accept crypto. Then they realize they can do it in-house. Then they realize they can save 1-2% by doing so, therefore boosting profits. Then, some companies will hodl some crypto for whatever reason and see an even larger boost in profits. Stockholders will be very happy. First some company starts accepting bitcoin then it realizes the overhead is too much for such a little business specially when fees go through the roof and you get customers complains for their TX not confirming then they stop accepting it.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin situation on: September 16, 2018, 05:53:29 PM
90% of those who are talking about death of bitcoin are the same people who are trying so hard to buy bitcoin when it drops a small 5% so that they can accumulate a tiny bit more.
The rest 10% are the newbies who fall for the 90% FUD and are scared of the situation.

I don’t try to predict this, I just stick to my plan. I buy a little when it dumps hard and sell some if it pumps hard. I also hold a little bit, but just holding doesn’t work for me and neither does going all in at any price. I’d rather buy low and sell high. Another way to think of it is balancing. Bitcoin dumps a bunch it is probably irrationally low. If it jumps a lot it is probably irrationally high. Pretty simple. No one can predict this.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money off cryptocurrency? on: September 16, 2018, 05:39:37 PM
Coinmarketcap.com, look at the top 100 or so. Recognize any vaguely familiar names, google it; spot big movements up or down relative to others, google it; low market cap compared to volume, google it. Also look at top 10 bla bla articles, disregard their opinions and google the ones you haven't heard of and those that might interest you. A few of the ways iv found more obscure but promising coins.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will kill itself on: September 16, 2018, 08:39:24 AM
Nobody, no individual and no central power or government can control, manipulate, ban, hack or kill a worldwide distributed open-source peer-to-peer cryptographically secured decentralised system. Bitcoins will continue to increase in value, more than gold and silver, there will only be 21 million bitcoins ever, they are cryptographically and mathematically secured, it is decentralized, so can't be banned, co-opted or confiscated/stolen by any central group or government, you hold your own private keys.
