you should start small as a beginner
Yes. Especially if you have limited experience with building computers from their constituent parts. I have limited experience building anything with more than 2 GPUs. As in no experience haha. But building from components is not foreign to me.
It would always depend on your expertise, if you're confident enough to do the 12 GPU builds then why not, its proven not a plug and play scenarios to make on this build and a challenging one, I'm not against it, however, what I always consider is that once in a while a rig may fail and so as all of your 12GPU also idled, compared to 6GPU with two builds, you still have one that running when the other one fails.
Your argument for 6 is one that appeals to me. Essentially "silo"-ing your rigs. Thanks!

So one thing I've noticed in my time in this forum is how many of the experts here recommend 6-GPU builds instead of recommending 12-GPU builds.
Is this because of personal preference, or do you think that you should start small as a beginner? Because obviously, 6-GPU builds are less cost efficient than planning for expansion from the beginning.
Let me know what your thoughts are!

Hey, this is as good a place to ask this as any:
ASUS B250 Mining Expert
Do they work well?
Reason I'm asking is that a wholesaler is offering these in a different thread. I'm curious to see if any of you guys have had experience with these? The whole "19-GPU" thing is exciting to me because then you're spreading out your redundant costs amongst many GPUs.
Obviously, that's what we're all searching for. But I don't want to see $ signs to the point that I get blindsided by cheap/low-quality hardware.
OP, we're not trying to bash on you. It's just that many of us are tired of the scalping situation. I don't think miners should be sold for more than $300/TH. And that's pushing it.
I would love to see if those ASUS B250 Mining motherboards have been used by anyone on this forum, and if they have good experiences?
Obviously, we're all looking to have less redundancy in our mining systems.
As for the other components, I am interested in:
2x Radeon RX470 Mining GPU's

Have u recived the miner?
I was told yesterday that it was shipped Fedex and will arrive today, and it's still early here. I'll update the thread whether it shows up or not. r00tdude You ignorant stunned moron. You truly do deserve it. How the fuck can someone be so naïve?? You're a sad little man. Go home neckbeard, this is where real men speak.

New in box 3 Avalon 741 With APW5 ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FBTn2bvL.png&t=663&c=g0Qil3QM4khgdQ) escrow accepted. 10k usd Please tell me you don't seriously want $3k for each.. This scalping situation being prolonged is probably the most detrimental to the longterm decentralization that is offered by mining.
1-2k gets you nothing in the Bitcoin mining market right now. S7s and Avalon 6s are your best option and even those are selling around $1k as of now. You might get better deals here but that is if you can even find them on sale. Cloud mining is risky and I wouldn't suggest it unless it's from a legitimate source like Bitmain's Hashnest. Difficulty's rising very quickly lately too, which changes on a whim but it's just some food for thought.
Just bought an Avalon 6 for fairly cheap before it sold out. I wish I could find more at a lower price :/ I know everyone says that about any miner, but I really like these things. Want to stock up on them and R4's once the miner scalping dies down a smidgen.
Let me start out by saying I do not have the necessary funds currently. But in the next couple months, I will be looking to pick up a good few of the R4's.
Please begin hoarding for me haha. Much appreciated.

Naw, looks like the guy I was responding to deleted his post.
Anyways it wasn't anger so much as incredulity.
With the questions I've seen you be asked in this thread, incredulity (and even a bit of anger) is justified.
Seriously? I literally just said I'm out of stock, have been for a week and will continue to be for several weeks.
Anyways the first post also says I don't ship to Europe.
I think you posted to the wrong thread. I was confused as to the reason behind your anger at first haha.
All y'all still asking for these need to take note of two things - the part in the first post which says SUPPLY IS LIMITED and the recent post by me saying they're out of stock for several weeks.
Just curious, did you raise the necessary funds to help your friend?
Do you do local pickup? If still available I can pick up from either Wisconsin or Florida.
Its been established he is a scammer When was that established?

Yaboy, I appreciate the feedback. I will locate the correct forum. As far as mining being profitable I dont do it so I am not able to speak on that. What I can tell you is the need for this hardware right now is stronger than ever based on my sales #s . Again I do appreciate the info and the fact that you took the time to respond. By the way I like people that are blunt and upfront. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Of course, anything I can do to help. There is a need for trustable hardware, but ASICs are really all you can use to be profitable on this particular coin. That's why you're seeing scalpers sell their units for double or even triple what the units are actually sold for/worth. You could probably find some good customers that are mining ETH or other "ASIC-resistant" coins. Good luck in your future endeavors!

Sadly we're to a point where I feel safe purchasing from somewhere that charges multiples of the retail price.

Hey Guys & Gals, New to this forum not for sure where to post this. I am a sales rep at ASI a national hardware distributor. www.asipartner.com we stock most of the hard to get video cards / GPU'S that you use for mining. We also do the motherboards, power supplies, memory and cpu's. We are typically a wholesaler that sells to computer dealers / resellers . However this mining craze has changed the way we do business. We are selling to companies that all they do is mining. What I am trying to say to you guys that are doing a lot of the mining I have hardware solutions available for you. We are direct with all major manf. so we can usually get the hard to get stuff. My contact info is below along with my email address if I can be of any assistance. We are legit . ASI has been in the computer hardware/distribution business since 1989 Robert Wood robert.wood@asipartner.comdirect line 678-502-1346 www.asipartner.com Do not take what I am about to say as rude. Just blunt :/ GPU/CPU mining for Bitcoin is now worse than unprofitable. You would pay more in electricity than you could ever hope to make through mining, even accounting for price appreciation. If you do want to sell to this forum, there are many things you need to do first. But top priority is to post this somewhere where people mine altcoins that are dependent on CPU/GPU mining.

placeholder for what, dumbass? Writing 9999 usd and the price TBA. Normally it s a blank price with "price TBA", dummy
Often in sites that deal with selling goods, you can only place a numerical value in the field for the price. Thus, $9,999.99

Take this thread as a learning experience. Now if you try selling again, you'll know what information to have from the start. As well as not allowing other family members to try and run this for you.
Good luck in your future endeavors.

Moonlander 2 is the only USB-based miner currently available using a current-generation chip. With the recent runup on Litecoin pricing, it's looking like it has a real chance to achieve ROI sometime next year.
Sidehack so far is selling sticks and pods based on older-generation Bitmain chips, he's not gotten a pod or stick working with Bitfury current-gen chips yet.
I'm only buying mining equipment with gains in value from my crypto holdings. I ended up preordering 13 of the Mainlanders ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Didn't think I would buy that many, but I'm excited to support the creator. Hope he follows through on some thoughts he's had of using multiple chips to create a pod-type miner. I'm kind of hoping it stays along the same lines as using USB connections so I don't have to keep buying Ethernet splitters.
