1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New BIOS in Sapphire TOXIC r9 280x decrease hashrate ? on: March 03, 2014, 04:06:27 PM
@ BitOrigin

with the ~same setting :
GPU = 1070
VDDC = 1090
Mem = 1500
Threads = 8192
powertune = -20

I am getting a steady 740khash on 2 TOXIC and 1 triX

The new one with 015.043.000.005... with the same settings => 619 avg, and I have much more variation than the olders

Do you mean that there is nothing to do...?
No wizard stuff that can help...?

If so this TOXIC is going right back to seller.

Another question, is there a way to know for sure, the kind of memory used before bying the card?

Thanks

Same problem here, also, tried BIOS :
 - 015.039
 - 015.041
none of the 2 works.

I am also getting only 620khash.

Damn you sapphire :-(

For the trolls: I'm a happy customer.  Grin

I had to play a lot (it was fun) but I have 570Ghs and my investment back.
Right on!

One could get the impression there was a statement like 'no happy customers at all'.

I'm happy for you that it worked out so nice, that you do not need to pay this f'ing -/+20% Tax like us Europeans, early delivery date, smoothly working devices and therefore reached break-even. Honestly this is great. I know there's always one in the world doing better than me, so I'm totally fine with it.
If nobody would have reached break-even, situation for me would be worse for sure...so really nice!

However I'm confused that you do not care even a little about others suffering (not me).
Didn't you consider further business with KnC ? How about next time it might be you punished by bad luck with delayed/messed up delivery, broken miner, delayed RMA, nobody picks up the phone, several days of exhausting email ping-pong while diff increases and other stuff reported...

And this is exactly my point.
Nice it worked out! But what's next time ?

+1 ...  ^
like less than 1%... nice job KNC!

You wouldn't feel that way if you had to go threw all that "we" unlucky client had to go threw!

I know that KNC is maybe one of the most legit bitcon asic company, but I can't shake the idea that I have been robbed.
Asic miner product only has its original value if it is delivered on time, and performs has it should be.
(Paid my Jupiter 8500$ total and got ~5BTC from it...)

So I am glad for you that you don't feel the same, because let me tell you it is not pleasant!
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 02, 2013, 12:01:04 PM
I know that KNC team is working hard to deliver the best product, but confronting the facts, I must say I am a little disappointed.

The Jupiter miner I received was running at 280 Ghash/s on firmware v0.95. That became a 0 Ghash/s miner after upgrading firmware to 0.97... Firmware revision v0.98 brought my miner back to life, but I now have poor performance.

Back in late september when I was considering asking for a refund, I was lead to think that I was going to receive on the 15th of October a 550Ghash/s miner with less than 1W/(Ghash/s) electric consumption.

What I got on the 29th of October was a 400 ghash/s Jupiter, consuming 535 Watts (1.35W/(Gh/s)).

I have ~15BTC of lost income due to late delivery and since delivery 25% lost of income per day (@todays diff~0.18BTC) due to lack of performance
And with this you add bad life time due to poor efficiency (Ghash/J).... lets say I too am a little screwed up.

I emailed them on those matter, and even if they are kindly looking on my technical problems, they choose not to answer or missed the real issue...
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: when the second november shipping knc??? on: November 01, 2013, 11:06:58 PM
Awesome, just awesome...
Some people got their miners 2 weeks early, some other people got them 2 weeks late.
Professionalism at its best.

dude, I'm watching your posts for last couple of months and you have really bad luck. underperforming Jupiter, 2 weeks delay and now mighty Orama just admit, that KNC accidentally shipped 15 units earlier.) honestly, I admire you manners and patience..

KNC unprofessionalism is really endless..

I'm probably in his shoes as well, i received my 8 boards yesterday (oct order) and all 8 have the die#0 issue. Now I have to RMA so considering the new delay caused by RMA I can safely claim my Oct order (supposed to be delivered  before Oct 15th) will be actually delivered in Nov... after some Nov orders.
At this point there's nothing much we can do, we asked for some form of compensation for our miners being delivered past 15th of Oct, we received faulty boards instead Smiley
Imo, the best KNC could have done, was to "upgrade" late Oct orders to Nov orders price and give the hash power difference as a sign of good faith. Legally they don't have to do that so they chose... not to.

Man I realy feel sorry for you!
I too had a bad experience :

9  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: October 31, 2013, 09:32:24 AM

How much do you reckon they'll be priced at (with or without the chips)?

Probably very close to or more than what they will return in their lifetime.

hopefully the price will be set <2BTC at this point

Not even sure you would make ROI at <1BTC. Even if you has it in hands today...

work on your math. assuming the boards run at >30GH without overclocking, you should be able to see 2BTC return within a few months, and the bitfury chip is pretty future-stable (on par with many 28nm designs when underclocked)

Please show me your math, I would be humble to see how you make it work.

Received my order today, shippement went nice and smoothly :-)

Got 1 hash board HS, "C01L" capacitor isn't present on the board... maybe it is the reason of h-card to be HS...Huh
Contacted Punin has to what to do, but no answers yet.
All other card are hashing away between ~28 and 34ghash/s.

Maybe it has allready been mentionned, but can anyone tell me the legend of stats log

Still concerned and would like some clarification about :
Also, if I may ask.

17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SolidCoin database growth...??? on: September 03, 2011, 05:17:38 PM
It's probably only the log files.. if you have a version of solidcoin that doesn't actually crash on shutdown - it might tidy them up when you stop and start it.

I don't yet hold any confidence that the solidcoin dev will solve scalability issues though.  The solidcoin accelerated schedule and shorter block timing will mean that they will potentially run into file size, bandwidth and other scalability issues if there is any real growth in transactions.

It's possible the mainline Bitcoin developers will solve these issues and solidcoin can just copy that - but I know which devs I'd rather trust.

Still.. if solidcoin does run into some scalability issues soon, it could prove a useful dataset for Bitcoin devs to examine!

Ok, problem solve, most of it was the "log files", in the database directory... I shut down SC, and the whole SC folder came back to 90Mo. Thanks Julz

Does it mean I will have too shut down SC every 2 weeks. Can't I just set it, to automaticaly trash the log files. What purpose do they have?

Thanks all for your help.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / SolidCoin database growth...??? on: September 03, 2011, 10:40:32 AM
I have kind of a problem here with SolidCoin....

Its database is allready 10Go... where Bitcoin database is only 2Go
And has all knows, SolidCoin has only been up for 14days... I am quite concern with this matter.
Can anyone give me an explication, and tell me if it will continue to grow like this?

Thanks
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LINUXCOIN : QWERTY->AZERTY on: August 22, 2011, 09:44:08 AM
I don't know of a way to make setxkbmap changes permanent but a quick fix would be to have "setxkbmap fr" in a simple bash script load on system boot.

I have done that, seem to work fine, thanks. But still I am surprise there is not an easier way.

edit : It seems it only works for a few. After a certain amount of time, I have to make the "setxkbmap" command again, in order to have azerty... ?
20  Other / Beginners & Help / LINUXCOIN : QWERTY->AZERTY on: August 12, 2011, 03:28:24 PM
