1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: Today at 02:39:52 AM
It's over now, the Boston Celtics is going back to the finals again. White's dagger 3 in the corner is enough for the Celtics to win. So it was a sweep for them, nothing to be ashamed for the Pacers though, they have 2 games in their homecourt and have a great chance to win, but as I have said, they seems to feel into the last minute and can't sustain because no one will take the lead for them as Haliburton is injured.

We are now just waiting for the Western conference, but most likely Dallas Mavericks vs Boston Celtics in the NBA finals.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did/do you handled a gambling addict story. on: Today at 12:32:48 AM
Gambling addiction can be very terrible and frustrating that it affects both your financial and emotional wellbeing.  There are lots of gamblers out there in the open struggling with gambling addiction  wishing to share their pains with someone who could understand, but they don't actually know the right person(s) to confide in about the pains they bear as they fear that they will be judged, criticized and the rest.

I had this conversation with a stranger today, he had to tell me a few things he's struggling with with his gambling habit and how he had tried to put an end to it but finds himself going back to same habits thereafter. And he felt that  talking to somebody about it will help his state but instead the person he felt comfortable talking to about was so judgemental towards him which had made him resort to self-help but nothing has really changed.

Has anyone gambling addict shared his situation with you and how did you handled it? please come clean about it let's learn from each other.

I'm thinking though that gambling addicts are not known to admit to themselves that they have the gambling addiction until it's too late or others have notice it already because his relationships have been affected. So it's really hard to say how the addicted gamblers will share his stories to others.

But in any he did share it to someone that he is comfortable, then that person is not the right individual to tell our stories. Or maybe that friend just using reverse psychology to make him quit his gambling. The question is, what effect does it have to addict hearing that judgement that he had received, did he take it constructively or not?

And what's scary is that there are reports that KP might be back in Celtics line up in the next game,

https://x.com/CelticsUnite18/status/1793065185768358093

This is good news for Celtics fans, and for sure they are looking for a sweep next game in Indiana. Although it could backfire or disrupt the chemistry of the team, but I think it was a good plan in preparation for whoever they will face in the NBA finals. He will have his hands full as either the Mavs and the Wolves had bigger man.

6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 26, 2024, 12:07:06 AM
I would like to ask everyone here who is into sports betting for some advice. I've come to realize that maybe I should start fading myself. I've noticed that my recent gambling journey hasn't been profitable, so I'm thinking maybe I'm missing something. I tried an experiment by just recording my picks and then betting the opposite of my analysis. Surprisingly, this resulted in profitable betting.

Isn't it contradicting yourself though, I mean you already have made you pick and should be betting on them and not the other way around. I haven't known a gambler who does this strategy though, so no offense, but this doesn't make sense, in my opinion.

So how about you? Have you ever thought of this idea when your picks aren't hitting? I mean, if we keep following how we think and feel with our picks and it doesn't translate to profit, there's no reason to continue following the same strategy. But are we comfortable with betting against our own picks just for the sake of fading ourselves strategy?

I guess one strategy is just completely stop from betting then. Just have a couple of days off and it seem you are unlucky with your selection instead of contradicting your belt. Or just bet on other games and see how it goes for you. You just need to break that losing streak to be positive and have a confident pick again.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - May 26 on: May 25, 2024, 11:29:16 PM
And it was great fight indeed, but at the end of it all, it was Jack Catterall who come in top, with a score of 117-111, 2x and 116-113. Although the score card looks ridiculous, as it seems 9-3 for Catterall, but I guess the correct winner is announced.

Jack dominated the fight from the first round and Josh hasn't anything to offer in this fight. It's just so sorry for Jack that there are no more belts in the line, and if he was given the nod in the first fight, he could be the undisputed champion.

For Josh Taylor, as a boxing fans, I think it's time for him to retire.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 24, 2024, 12:10:27 AM
[....]but I think it will be easier for the Celtics to win this time because I'm sure Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla will make some adjustments.
Easier huh? Are you willing to bet on them with -handicap?

I think this is going to be another close game with less than 10-point gap but I don't know who will come out as the winner. I'm still betting on the Pacers +10.5 since they are the underdogs just like in game 1. It just makes more sense to pick that with odds @1.7

And it's really hard to predict this game. Yes, it was very close in Game 1 and it can go either way. Pacers had a great chance though, they blew it away by allowing Brown to have that good shot at the corner.

People are talking about adjustments here in the part of Celtics. But that's how they play, high scoring game and not concern about playing defense.

And money are pouring on the Celtics, but I will change my betting here with a Under 58.5, 1st Quarter - Total.

I never thought they could do this kind of stuff no wonder there are lots of victims who are not vigilant enough to check whatever files they are downloading on their computers. That's why when you are a crypto holder, you really need to update yourself when it comes to protecting your crypto and learn the latest method of preventing yourself from getting hacked because scammers and hackers always come up with new ideas and techniques, and sometimes in a way we don't perceive such as this one.

This is a handy work of sophisticated criminals, everything is now possible specially they know that they can trapped their victims and if they successful gain access, they can have our cryptos. And as a crypto enthusiast, I do agree, we should really be updated on what is the latest not just the news about the crypto that we follows, but as well as how to world of criminals are targeting us.

Before, it the malware was very simply, but not it's very different, so we really need to educate ourselves and thanks to some members here who keeps on reminding us and reporting such attacks are possible.

12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - May 26 on: May 22, 2024, 09:15:53 AM
Taylor was the slight favorite in the beginning as posted by the OP. So that lost to Lopez was already accounted for by sport bookies. But with another postponement and with Taylor reasoning that it was due to another injury, the odd maker shift it more to Catterall now and so it's almost 50:50 now. But I do agree that this is not going to be a snoozer fight, both might really take it personal and hate each other and likely wanted to take each other's head off because they are rivals. However, for me Taylor might have lost some step as well, and he is in the division that is very stack-up, 140-147 lbs.

As of this writing, Catterall is now the slight favorite with an ML odds of 1.63 while the odds if we bet for Taylor is 2.14. Basing on their latest fights, i think i'm more inclined to bet for Catterall as Taylor is on a decline basing on what we saw on their last bouts. Though not a championship fight but i do believe that this fight is worth watching for those who love this sport of boxing as they have unfinish business.

BTW, the fight will be in a few days, this weekend to be specific.

What a turn of events for this fight. I mean it started as Josh Taylor as the odds favorite, but it seems that the betting is leaning towards Jack Catterall as it seems that he is the bigger man now because Josh Taylor could really be just breathing some in this division as he could have a problem making weight at 140 lbs.

Yes, I do agree, it's better to put money on Jack Catterall now, I haven't check the line for a decision win, but I guess that's what I'm going to bet if it is more attracted than a ML bet. They are domestic rivals others have pointed out, they have to settle a lot of things regarding their rivalry specially that the first fight is controversial.

14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: May 17, 2024, 12:06:03 AM
And imagine the trash talking of Tank Davis and not respecting Loma at all.

That would motivate Loma more, of course he can do that because that's part of marketing, he sell the fight and both are happy with the paycheck. Based on the current ranking now, it's Tank Davis who is above Loma, so most likely the betting odds will favorr Tank Davis as the heavy favorite, and that means we all who believe in Loma here will be happy betting on Loma.

Tank hasn't fought a tough challenger after beating Ryan, I think this time he needs to consider Loma which is a real threat to him.

Lomachenko's career resurgence after the win is evident, and since he is in the retirement stage, there were rumors of him retiring, but there is no formal announcement yet; he should go for top names in his division, and we can all agree Tank is the best choice for Loma, and Loma is also the best choice for Tank.

That is a bad move if Loma chooses to hang up his gloves after this big win against Kambosos. I mean he is the favorite in this fight, but we still don't know if he still has it. But he proves everyone wrong with this mastery class against Kambosos and that body shot is perfect.

This will be a big demand after Tank defeats Frank Martin; Martin is one tough customer for Tank.
Of course, I also want to see Lomachecko get revenge on Haney because it's a controversial win, and they need to run it again for the boxing fans and each other so there will be a closure on who is a better tactician between the two.

It's a style made in heaven, I think Loma is more of the tactician here while Davis will rely on his power. In this fight against Pitbull Cruz or Rolly Romero or even Ryan Garcia, it takes him a couple of rounds to figure out his opponents. So it will be a great match up to see him how he will do against a fighter as well with a good IQ just like his and better technique.

[...]
Cavs did enough for me to lose my -10.5 bet on Celtics last time so I'm going to pick Cavs +15.5 @1.96 this time hehe.
Good luck, the ball is definitely balanced and round and no one will know until the game ends.
All I really care is winning the bet to be honest hehe. The first half is over and the Cavs are still holding on despite the absence of several key players. Garland is expected to carry this team again but Marcus Morris is playing surprisingly well. I'll be happy if they can keep the score close to the Celtics in the second half too.
And that bet was a loss, that's okay.

I am also like that even though I know that these odds would mean nothing when the favored team wins. I'd say that it's still a good match and Cleveland had made it this far again.

Dallas with this win put a feet in the final of conference but still a way to go, is not a easy team to beat Oklahoma, and i dont think they are gonna give up right now.
Props to OKC, they're still breathing. We'd see if the game 6 will be final for them or will take a revenge win.

I'm a knicks fan so I definitely don't want to see a game 7 there but for both series in the west I'm hoping for a seven game series.  Starts tonight with the wolves at home needing a win.  Ant has to have a huge game for them.  Will see what the young kid is made of tonight.  It's amazing he is only 22 and has pretty much taken the NBA over.  Once he gets to 25/26 years old the dude is going to be unstoppable.

Yes, he is still very young and this could really be a good experience for him, and we have seen great players in the past, who after suffering a lost, then improved in the following years and then become legends.

So we have SGA and ANT as the future of the NBA right now, and again even if they are eliminated in this series against Jokic and Luka, this for sure will stamped in their memory and will improved drastically in the next season. One hour the game will start between the Nuggets and the Wolves, I will definitely watch this game, but not betting though, just enjoying and may the best team wins and goodluck to all bettors.

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: May 08, 2024, 11:40:17 PM

Inoue should give Casimero and the fans a chance to makeit happen, as a fan of both, I like to see them fight so we can conclude if Casimero is just trolling or telling the truth. I guess it's quite overdue, he should fight Casimero this year.

Everytime Inoue win in a fight, Casimero would always want to gain attention so Inoue will fight him, but until now, it has not happen yet because Inoue is not interested on him for some reason. Some probably thought that Inoue is afraid of Casimero, well, if that is the case, he should not be calling himself as monster of Japan because no monster is afraid of anyone.

honestly, I feel that Casimero will just keep chasing Inoue and Inoue will have plenty of excuses to avoid Casimero as he can. Of course, he is the champion, and as long as Casimero is not a mandatory challenger, Inoue has no business on fighting him.

It's because Casimero is not the same when he was in bantamweight and so it make sense the Inoue will skip him for better fight. And it will be the same outcome to be honest, I don't think anyone can beat Inoue, although we have seen him getting knock down. But what's more scary is his ability to recover, maybe 60% of the opponents of Nery that tasted that power can can't back, but not Inoue.

I saw the video of him mocking Inoue when he goes down from that punch, but it will just added for Inoue not to face him.

Casimero should be back in the ring though, he is not getting any younger and although he won his last fight, majority of us here are not captivated by that win.

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 30, 2024, 02:09:15 AM
Every fighter is confident though in facing anyone, that is there job. And we don't know if this is going to be exciting as it could be very quick like the Donaire fight with just a couple of rounds. Specially if that confident says that he can go toe to toe then it will be an easy and fast ending for Nery here.

What he should do is at least have a good plan in the fight, trying to feel Inoue and see if he can outsmart him. And then uses his power from time to time and score points on the judges scorecard. If if he lucky that the fight goes to distance, maybe he can win in the scorecard.

I think scoring points is not enough for him to win. We saw the quickness of Inoue, Nery cannot outplay Inoue if he uses a score and run technique. IMO, Nery should conserve his energy and go for KO, because once he hurt Inoue, there's a chance that he could knockout the champion.

Nery should be confident, he must believe in his power becasue his record speak so, and although it's dangerous to go toe to toe with Inoue, but if it's the only chance for him to beat the monster, I think he should try to gamble.

It will be enough as I have said if the fight goes to distance and judges will have to score the fight. But it should be very well convincing round win for Nery as this fight is in Inoue's home backward. I think you contradict your self by saying he should conserved his energy and go for the KO. You can't KO anyone if you are not throwing any power punch and it means their are no conservation of energy.

Again, everyone is confident. Donaire was able to extend the fight in 12 rounds and for me this is the best way for anyone to beat Inoue. It's hard to score a KO in my opinion, maybe the closest blue print we have is how Donaire almost got Inoue in the first fight.
