341  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2024 price prediction on: December 29, 2023, 10:02:48 PM
I voted for Above 70k+.

Or at least we would see a new all time high, or get passed the previous at $69k. As for what could be the new all time high, obviously, everyone's target is above $100k conservative estimates, but I don't think that we are going to hit it in 2024 yet.

So going to be a great year to us, if the cycle or the pattern continues 2024 will be the start of the bull run right after the block halving. We might not felt a initial surge, but once the bull pick it up, it's going to be a great and massive run again just like the previous post halving years.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: December 29, 2023, 09:27:07 PM
Questions like this has popped out in several occasions and arguments concerning Bitcoin investment. My friends will say you must lose before you gain or rather have more experience investing in Bitcoin.

It's not how it works, but you need to educate yourself first before investing, not just BTC but any other assets out there. In my case though, early on I was a victim of a bitcoin doubler, just lost small amounts though, not that big amount of bitcoin but it teaches me a valuable lesson.

If its how it work, Bitcoin isn't for a low income earner as well as not gonna make you rich when you can't invest something tangible to it.

I have to disagree though, again if we are talking about experience, there could be more average joe investor like you and me in this market.

On the other hand people are been made big and wealthy in same program. What does it in tell, cos am quite sure people had already known what's going to happen in the market in the nearest future to give them the strong mindset to invest porously. My biggest fear is losing my hard earn to something as volatile, vulnerable and uncertain as btc. What's the possibility you invest without losing. Is it guaranteed in this kinda market?

Those who get rich could be early adopters, or just work hard day in day out, grinding, buying small amounts of bitcoin thru a method DCA and then HODL it for years and just selling it during bull run or if it is necessary. I think you have to change your mindset first and not think of bitcoin investment as a "rich quick scheme".
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 29, 2023, 01:55:59 PM
Inoue isn't that much of a talkative guy so a lot of the media are trying to reach out to his Japanese promoter Hideyuki Ohashi. So the plan is for the undisputed champion to defend all the belts 3-times in 2024. Bigger venues like the Tokyo Dome that could seat 40,000 fans are considered. Las Vegas and Saudi Arabia are also mentioned.

The first title defense is targeted against former 2-division world champion Luis Nery of Mexico. Nery is banned in Japan so it's most likely happening in the US unless the Saudis can offer bigger.

The second title defense will be against former unified champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev who lost a highly disputed decision to Marlon Tapales. Akhmadaliev also won the WBA eliminator in his last fight which means Inoue has to fight him or get stripped of his WBA belt.

The planned third title defense will be against Johnreil Casimero, a 3-division world champion. Inoue and Casimero were scheduled already to unify their belts when the pandemic of COVID-19 happened. It was canceled but it seems like they are destined to really face each other.

I think this is going to be a dream for boxing fans to see Inoue against this 3 boxers. And as fans, we have mentioned already that this is the only fight that make sense for Inoue, to stay at 122 lbs and fought those names and somewhat clean up the division before moving up.

There have been a lot of talks of him and Nery fighting. And then Akhmadaliev winning a week ago makes him another candidate or mandatory for Inoue's belt.

And then the trash talking another Filipino in Casimero, they already have supposedly scheduled fight, Casimero just needed to defend his belt against Butler. But the rest is history. However, as you have said, this two are destined to face each here at 122 lbs.
344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: December 29, 2023, 01:41:07 PM
If I say two hours is bad because it's too long, will you cut your gambling duration?
If I say two hours is too short, will you extend your gambling duration?

There's no black or white in this case, each gambler has it's own answer depends on how rich he's, how many hours he work, his obligation etc.

Yeah, limitations is just based on each individual and the money that they are willing to spend in gambling. If someone wanted to play for hours, then he should have a deep pockets to continue playing as much as he can.

But if your funds is limited, then you will just play dependent on that budget. And usually if you have smaller capital, I don't think that you can even last for hours in casinos, online or offline. There were even days for me that I'm so unlucky that even if I play above my average budget, I wouldn't even last a hour.
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 29, 2023, 11:44:19 AM
And the thing that hurt is that there are games that they could have won, I mean they play good in the first quarter or the first half. And then they will just mentality collapse and it become their story as most of their losing streak is like that game.

So it's really frustration from everyone, coaches, players, management and fans.
That's true, some games the Pistons could have won.
Even in this game against the Celtics at the end In the first half, I was surprised by Detroit's performance, I couldn't believe the feat they were accomplishing, but in the third quarter they lost and the Pistons players psychology only got worse... after all, I imagine they are shaken and are playing under extreme pressure, and this will only affect the chemistry between the players.

Well, the Pistons next game will be against the Raptos in Detroit, I believe that game will be less difficult than the Celtics, but as I said before, unfortunately the mentality and psychology of the Piston players are compromised and I have no doubt that this could be a determining factor in the outcome of this game.

Yeah, and I think they will have good rest and it might be a big improvement that they didn't lost by double digits and they have a great chance winning at Boston in their own homecourt. So maybe in their next game against the visiting Raptors, if they have the same energy, chances are high for them.

At least we heard a lot of good praises for pushing the Celtics in a brink of losing this one.

Maybe it's the mentality, but the coach and the players themselves believed that they can do it the next time.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I dodge KYC using the his medium. on: December 28, 2023, 10:22:56 PM
Is it possible one can dodge KYC verification request after winning a big amount of money and decides not to withdraw a lump sum but bit by bit in smaller amounts. I have read many posts talking about how they wanted to withdraw the money they won but due to the amount they wanted to withdraw was big, they were asked  pass kyc verification because they never did when they first registered.

I don't think that it's a good strategy, casino will find it out obviously as they know that you have big winnings and obviously you wanted to cash it out. So they will immediately ask for a KYC on your part.

Of course, that's the argument that we all have been hearing, with initial deposits, then don't ask for KYC but when you are about to withdraw some winnings, they will ask you to provide information and hide on the reason of regulations. But that's what we need to follow though, and I don't think that there is a way around it.

And if you win it fair and square so what you are afraid to withdraw and not go to KYC?
347  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: December 28, 2023, 09:37:44 PM
That's true, because I also faced this fee challenge now and it got worse few weeks back when the fee was crazy high, I normally buy Bitcoin through binance P2P trade and although it's a small amount but I really don't care so long the process is a continual one but the problem now is not buying but actually when you want to move the coins to a non-custodial wallet like electrum for safe keeping because with all the incident I have read and happening that have occured, I can deduce that keeping your coins in an exchange is not an good idea at all but the issue is how can you move coins out when the fees are fucking crazy.

You can only do DCA at a centralized exchange. For non-custodial transactions, you're going to have to wait quite a long time until the dust settles. Things are going to get worse once the BTC halving takes effect in April 2024. That's because there will be FOMO, adding greater congestion to the Blockchain.

Sadly this is true, and if the transaction will go up during the bull run, it could be worst that 2017. I remember that time that the fees are so high. But in any case, we shouldn't deter bitcoin enthusiast and continue what they have been doing for years or months.

Some say we should move to the Lightning Network for cheaper and faster transfers. But you'd still need to pay a high on-chain fee to open/close a channel on the LN. Therefore, average Bitcoin users are completely "deadlocked". No one can predict the future, so lets hope for the best. Smiley

Or maybe just familiarize ourselves with Lightning Network, I think we will need it just in case. Maybe in the future, more online or offline stores are going to used LN for small transactions. And it will be good if we know how to used it.
348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 28, 2023, 09:12:11 PM
result match inoue win with KO in ronde 10
but the match was very exciting and interesting
but tapales this boxer from the philippines is still outclassed.

I don't know what's wrong about tapales cause what I saw is the opposite of my expectations cause he is not just very aggressive cause he is always waiting the right time which is he control his punches he didn't throw so much punches  while Inoue punch him so much and in the round 4 we saw that tapales was hit a good shot and that's the reason why Inoue getting more aggressive because of that knockout.

There's nothing wrong with Tapales it just happened that he is facing a monster who is notorious for knocking out his opponents, he was fully aware of all of this because he had watched all of Inoue's fights and he was just making sure that he was well defended and at the same trying to impose his offense and plan, I'm proud of Tapales because he hurt and back down Inoue in some rounds but the gap in power and speed was just too obvious.
Tapales' only consolation is he made a lot of money in this fight and that will help him and his loved ones.

Correct, Tapales really put more than 100% in this training, his heart and he had sacrifices along the long. But it's just that Inoue is very strong that's why he has a hard time finding this rhythm and even if he hits Inoue with his strongest punch, it has no effect whatsoever.

I wouldn't say that he was outclassed though, but the Monster is really too much for everyone, not just Tapales for 122 lbs.

This is probably Tapales biggest paycheck to date, so it's all good as he can go back to the Philippines and enjoy the New Year season.
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 28, 2023, 09:02:46 PM
Right, we have witnessed Cade shredding tears if I'm not mistaken as they have lost another game. I'm not sure though if they have time to fix it, I mean just look at the body language of this players, they surely doesn't want to be in this space.

I heard a lot of fans really getting mad, even in their reddit, if you follow them they are some fans that ridicule this group that you don't want to read what this fans are saying to their team. And I guess as you have said, they are going to carry this one for years until someone erases that record.

Huge frustrations are now in side with Piston since they are now mentally in trouble because it seems they are in situation where they are so desperate on situation they are on. Losing such huge streak is so awkward especially their fans is totally ashamed on how they perform. I feel sorry for Cade but they need to step up and win their game since if they let those frustrations eat them then for sure they might continue to get a defeat. As said they also need to have good adjustment and coach have other plan to make this things work right since their play is totally a huge means and their defense is so poor and that contribute on why they encounter another defeat.

And the thing that hurt is that there are games that they could have won, I mean they play good in the first quarter or the first half. And then they will just mentality collapse and it become their story as most of their losing streak is like that game.

So it's really frustration from everyone, coaches, players, management and fans.

Great game by the Cavs btw, making a great comeback and stunned the Luka crowd. Mavs took control but the Cavs won't simply go.
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying at 35k? on: December 27, 2023, 12:27:49 PM
Hallo people,

I bought some bitcoin at 26/27/30 and 31k. all profit so far, I am thinking about buying more, but is 35k te expensive to buy bitcoin?
If you bought Bitcoin for $35,000 then you definitely made a lot of profit. If you can keep this investment for a long time then surely you will get more money profit. But you always have to plan for the long term and hold your investment patiently for success. Since you are very interested in investing in bitcoins, you should gradually invest bitcoins and hold them for a long period of time, it will bring you enough profit.

At the current price? yeah, if he bought at $35k, easy profit. But for me, if I enter around that price, I won't simply dump it right now. I will be looking for long term, or at least after the block halving and see how far can the price go in 2024.

In any case, everyone of us has it's own strategy, I like the buying at certain price, but I will also love to sell at that strategy. Slowly and then see how the price will go in the future. And with that, I think at his price of $40k'ish, still a good buy as majority expects that the price could hit all time high at $100k minimum.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: biggest misconception about Cryptocurrency? on: December 27, 2023, 11:43:34 AM
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about cryptocurrencies, and how would you clarify it?

I think people who think that it's a get rich quick scheme. Just right now, I have a convo with my wife and she says that someone is trying to borrow money, a friend of her and says that he need crypto as she needed to finished some task? before she  can get her crypto.

So I said that it could be scam if that is the case. I haven't talk to the lady as I don't know here. It was just a friend of my wife who she teaches some side hustle and perhaps it's very slow to her that's why she goes into crypto thinking that he can earn money very quick. But from the sounds of it, she could have feel victims to scams already.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 27, 2023, 10:13:56 AM
Biggest upset today!

Kings fall to the struggling Trail Blazers. Final score 113-130, it was a blowout win by the Trail Blazers, and I'm one of the victims who bet on the Kings thinking they'll get the win and cover the high spread.

Looks like the Kings are tired of playing on the road, LOL... Losing to the Blazers is embarassing, especially that they are building their team to be a playoff team.
Unfortunately, the same for me, I confess that I was surprised with the defeat of Sacramento
Sabonis and Fox had an excellent performance, in fact they carried the team on their shoulders, on the other hand, the Blazers had an interesting performance because most of the players, including the reserves, scored relatively well in that game.

I believe that a crucial point that also favored the Kings' defeat was the 3-point shots, they only had 23.8%, while the Blazzers had 40.00%, which in my point of view was a high percentage of success.

Yes, another great upset and too bad for basketball fans who bet on the Kings as we thought that this is going to be an easy game for the Kings. Sabonis and Fox have a great game, but if you don't have the support cast, even if this two scores 50 point apiece it will be not enough.

It's Blazers homecourt and they take advantage of it by shooting hot in the outside.

First quarter was close until the Trailblazers put up a show in the second quarter and never look back. Although they allow Sabonis to bully himself inside, but the team really give everything to pull this upset.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: December 27, 2023, 01:50:35 AM
I don't think that there is such numbers for gamblers, I mean if we have the money to gamble, then we are going to play as long as we want isn't it? So maybe a minimum of like 2-3 hours for recreational gamblers.

But for those who have serious problems in gambling, this can go on until they've lost everything. But wait, they will surely has to find another way to continue with their addiction so they will comeback in the next couple of hours and then continue their playing for more.

So no time limit, maybe even for those weekend gamblers who just want to have fun with friends and be entertainment, it could still consumed hours.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 26, 2023, 04:11:47 PM
Yes, everyone thinks that Tapales will not last that long, but he did and that is already a big accomplishment for his endurance and really willing to win this fight. You can see that he was really hurt and trying to get up from the canvass. But the pain though, it was very tough to see fellow Filipino again falling to the Monster.

But it is what it is, so history has been made today by Inoue. Let's see if Inoue is true to his words that he wanted to remain in this division and clean it up.
Agree, well. Disappointed but not surprise.
I didn't comment this before but i really have a guess that Tapales doesn't have a much in this fight. Based on his previous fights the agility to match Inoue's, doesn't have a signature killing punch to match the Monster, like i gave him 7/10 rating while 10 is the Monster. But unfortunately it happened just what i thought. Thing is I didn't made a bet because of busy holidays, which is the saddest part.

Yes, I think we all agree that as much as we gave Tapales a slim chance to win, Inoue should be the clear winner and so it did. But you have to give respect to Tapales that even if he goes down in round 4, he manage to stay in the pocket and take the best shot of Inoue.

But I guess it's too much even for the likes of Tapales, those body shots have taken a toll on him.

So who's next for Inoue now? is he going up to another division and make himself a 3 weight class unified champion and separate his name from Crawford?

356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 25, 2023, 07:38:51 AM
Christmas day match-up, a lot of good games to watch,

Nuggets vs Warriors - GSW a change team after the Draymond incident, winning back to back.
Lakers vs Celtics - Lakers have the homecourt advantage
Knicks vs Bucks - Knicks looking to bounce back, will be at MSG
Suns vs Mavs - Suns on a losing streak, and we all know that there's no love lost between Luka and Booker

All Christmas Day matchups are exciting to watch maybe with the exception of the Heat and the 76ers. Jimmy Butler is unsure but Joel Embiid cannot make it because of an injury.  We can watch them all matches because they do not have similar playing time. It will be a day loaded with entertaining NBA basketball.

The Suns and the Mavs are the last match, and it is perfect. Luka and Devin are bringing their high energy on the court. Dallas has a higher rating but they are playing a much more comfortable at home team.

It's going to be Luka vs Devin Booker again as we want to see this game. They have been at each's other for the last couple of years specially in the playoff and I think Luka has the advantage.

And Suns has been struggling even with Durant, I mean as we have observed getting Bel and KD and along Booker, it's all offensive and they don't have that much defensive that's why teams are defeating them easy and it could be the case here. But Phoenix Suns is the favorite as per sports bookies, so who knows that this could be another trap for bettors.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: December 25, 2023, 03:01:38 AM
Don’t increase your bet when you are losing because it will just amplify your loss immediately once you are in bad streak. Always test the water before you increase your bet.  Wink
I mostly agree with this part because losses will always come and you only need a bunch of back-to-back losses to burn most of your bankroll.

The unexpected win streak is the part I struggle to take advantage of because I prefer to risk the same bet amount no matter what, and I overthink that the next round could be the start of a losing streak.

Also, congrats on capitalizing on those winning patterns while playing with a small bankroll.

That's the classic martingale style though, trying to double your bet after each lost. But we all know that it's not for everyone, I mean we don't have the capital to make that kind of run specially if you are losing that's why I don't used that strategy.

As for the suggestions of the OP, not saying that it's not true, but the thing is that it's going to be very difficult to control, whether you are winning or losing. When you are winning you feel that you are unstoppable and very lucky and you want to stretch it. When you are losing, you want to recoup and change everything and hoping that lady luck will be on your side.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which hosting or domain name providers does shady gambling sites use? on: December 25, 2023, 02:48:24 AM
Today, when I was browsing the service discussion board I found a thread created by a Hero member where he was asking about good hosting providers that doesn't require KYC. I didn't feel to reply there because others users have already answered the question and OP found his web host with the help of those members.

But something came in my mind after reading that thread that which hosting providers and domain name providers those shady gambling websites use. Most of us know the shady websites like 1xBit for their shady activities and we also know that they got license from countries like Curacao but does anyone knows that which hosting providers and which domain name providers such gambling sites use.

All those gambling sites had to use some domain name registrar that registered those domain names for those shady sites and they all need some kind of hosting plains in order to make their site accessible to everyone but the question is that which domain name providers or hosting companies allow such sites to host their domains or register their domain and renew those domains even if they have been tagged for their shady activities.

I don't think that gamblers are going to be interested to look at who is hosting who as far as this crypto based gambling site. I mean literally you can just register any names you want from this hosting company and they will readily give it to you regardless of what niche is it although the name itself could have a hint on what it is or what is should be.

So they don't care if you as owners and registrant of the website run a scam latter and chooses not to play your customers. This is also the same case with thousands of scam sites that we have right now. As long as they pay good money to this hosting domain, even if it obvious that it's shady in this case, they don't care, sad but true.
359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it give fuel to skyroket for btc ? on: December 23, 2023, 09:18:35 PM
Didn't click on the link, but it's it obvious though that it will fuel the price of BTC? last month there were news that it was approved or something or that it's ticker has been displayed and then removed:

https://cryptoslate.com/bitcoin-retracts-and-rebounds-after-blackrocks-new-etf-ticker-removed-from-dtcc-website/

Perhaps there are people who just wanted to test and see the reaction of the investors, and it was very positive. And after that the price of bitcoin continue to go up to $40k++. So just imagine if next year, the BlackRock Bitcoin Spot ETF is going to be approved by SEC. We might see the price getting a massive run, that I think we might get closer to our previous ATH.
360  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis everywhere it's time to come together and unite on: December 23, 2023, 08:56:07 PM
Times like this it's time to join and unite together
So what is the next innovative business we should do ?
Times are difficult and we feel like victims of beyrayel
I see that anyone who bring up some good idea not trusted instantly....but only way is unite together many people don't have income anymore and no money.
So who from us Will create us new currency? And we All use this currency and get some airdrop ?

What idea do you have though? another crypto? I think we have enough already, bitcoin is the top choice for us and then we have the "alternative" cryptocurrencies. And I think crypto market are already saturated, maybe there are meme or shitcoin that will come along to make some money, but it's going to be pump and dump scheme, so it's not good.

I know it's difficult times, but to make money, you have to push yourself. Perhaps a new business will do, or just re-invest your money in bitcoin and let it grow. I think that's the best thing that we can do as far as crypto, invest on solid coins, like bitcoin, accumulate and HODL. No one to come together or work together, there is no secret formula for getting rich in crypto.
