961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin Be Badly Hurt if Binance Goes Down? on: June 14, 2023, 01:07:32 AM
I really am no fan of Binance because I found their KYC annoying. What is not in doubt is that CZ is supposedly one of the most credible faces of crypto. How much harm do you think a Binance implosion would cause Bitcoin? Is the US a big threat to the coin market?

Isn't it the harm has been done already? prices are already stagnant with the news that SEC filed a case against Binance and we have been trading in this sideways pattern, $25k-$26k.

In case of Binance though exiting US, then maybe it will still have a impact, but I doubt that it will be huge. Maybe just a a few thousands of dollars. But then we've seen that bitcoin is so resilient with this kind of attacks and negative news that I don't see us recovering at the end of the year.

It's not that Binance will have a similar Mt. Gox effect, that time only Mt. Gox is the exchange, unlike today wherein we have a lot of options to choose.
962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 12, 2023, 02:33:25 AM
It looks like Teofimo Lopez step up his performance whenever he meet great boxer.  The way I see the fight, Lopez is so focused and be able to outwit and out tempo Taylor.  And Taylor just had a very bad performance and not utilizing his height and reach advantage. We all seen it that Teofimo Lopez is way smaller than Josh Taylor.  Taylor failed to establish his job that should had helped him to keep Lopez @ bay.

This is also what I noticed about Teo Lopez, he rises up on occasion whenever he is on a big stage just like last night. I thought that if Teo showed up last night and his performance would be just like that when he fought Martin, that could have been an easy fight for Taylor but Lopez was amazing on his counter punching which he was not known for, I mean he is a knockout artist and an aggressive fighter on the get-go but nevertheless, it was a good game plan by Team Lopez but I think his hold of these belts will be short-live.

Yes, I guess he really need to practice and overcome that mentality though, maybe it did good to him tonight, but what if he was upset in his last fight? then there wil be no chance for him to win this WBO belt?

Or maybe it was in the training as well, he has been is some personal issues in his fight against Taylor, divorced to be exact. But he overcome it and then beat Taylor and never allow Josh to make a comeback. I think in the power department, eventhough we can say that Lopez is the smaller guy here, but he has pop in his punch and hurt Taylor several times.
963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 12, 2023, 01:41:08 AM
Teofimo Lopez Defeated Josh Taylor

I was really shocked Teofimo Lopez has proven that his speed is really something for Josh Taylor to be afraid of, and not just his speed but his fighting IQ aswell, well I was really wrong, but can we surely know what will be the results when the 2 boxer clash, but surely I think Teofimo Lopez is now ready for a much higher ranking in this division, his fight IQ and speed have already improve so yeah even though I was wrong that Josh Taylor could have a slight chance, it was really a dominating fight for Teofimo Lopez,

I watched their fight and indeed Teofimo Lopez won by unanimous points over Josh Taylor.
I also saw that his punching speed and fighting IQ were very good, even Josh Taylor seemed very overwhelmed by Teofimo Lopez's punches.
But after all Teofimo Lopez is a very good boxer and now he has the title of WBO Junior Welterweight World Champion.
It is possible that Teofimo Lopez will soon be able to get a higher rank in this division.

He has proven to us that he is truly a champion. His loss to Kambosos was probably because he was already struggling to maintain the required weight. Now, he is in a division where he feels very confident, as evidenced by this significant win. Although Josh Taylor also landed some good shots on Lopez, it was Lopez's speed and power that made the difference. Let's expect that he will continue to have big fights, and I'm sure he will once again be a tough challenger if he moves up in weight class.

Teofimo Lopez really performs well and the strategy implemented by his camp is really effective.  Beside Lopez is hungry for the belt after losing from Kambosos, so probably Teofimo Lopez really trained hard for this fight in order to snatch the title.

I am really surprised at how Teofimo Lopez performed in this fight.  I thought it will be the same as the performance when he fights Sandor Martin but to my surprise, he really keeps Taylor in check and unable to take advantage of his height and reach.

this is the reason why we can't be so assured with our bets as we don't know exactly what will happen inside the ring. taylor was the favourite on this match and look at the results. definitely, lopez prepared good for this fight and surprised a lot of boxing fans about his moves.
lopez will surely have a good purse share come his next fight. for me, he is still young and he still has a lot to offer in the boxing ring. no name yet for their next opponent but for sure it will be bigger name.

Definitely, in his next fight, it might be another good pay day for him as he is the champion and there are a lot of competitions in the 140 lbs division. It's open now, Josh Taylor is no longer the dominant champion so there could be another set of unifications fights again.

Plus we have heard that Haney might go up in weight at 140 lbs, so obviously this is going to be exciting as we all know that they are supposed to face at 135 lbs. But maybe in the future we will see them at different weight class but still the say, chasing and fighting for the belt. Both are villains though, so going to be fun to see the two trash talking, not just themselves by Lopez Sr and then Bill Haney.
964  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN BULL MAY BE IN TROUBLE on: June 11, 2023, 12:42:11 PM
May closed lower compared to April, of course this is an indication that the market has not recovered, when it was March and the price could skyrocket from $ 22k to more than $ 30k making us optimistic that the bull run will happen soon, unfortunately there is a decline and of course there are many reasons.

And if you look at it, there is one compelling reasons why the price in June has been hindered, it's because SEC decided to file a lawsuit against the top crypto exchanges which is Binance. Now the price goes down again to $25k and it really doesn't look good for the market.

Nevertheless, this is just a setback, just temporary for this year. Long term or at least in the next six months, I'm still seeing that the price might recovered for good, Might not be the bull run that we are expecting. But if we are going to compare it to the price that we have seen in the beginning of this year, then it's a significant jump.
965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Include The Sport Spogomi In Their Platform on: June 11, 2023, 12:06:16 PM
I'm not against it, but if it is not that famous or well known to the gamblers, then I doubt that casino will simply include it. Maybe in the next couple of years, when the sports becomes a major one or at least it got the hype surrounding it, maybe some top tier platform are going to list this sport.

So short term, No, doubt that it will be included. Long term and again if it gain audience throughout the world, then there might be a chance for this sports. And to be honest, this is the first time that I have heard about it, so I might do some research later so thanks to the OP for bringing this up to the community.
966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 11, 2023, 10:32:59 AM
I agree that it is not going to be a comeback, they tried their best but their best wasn't enough. Jokic is just way too good for this league and they are doing something that can't be matched. This was one of the reasons why I thought Doncic should have gone to Denver, yes they didn't had some high pick, they had 14th pick, but if they packaged it whatever they had at the time, maybe they could have gotten the pick, imagine a scenario where Doncic and Jokic plays together, that would be insane, their pick and roll would have been even better than Murray and Jokic.

In any case, right now Jokic is unstoppable and he is on the way to win the title, he deserved it and he should have been MVP again as well if you ask me but he doesn't look like the kind of guy who cares about it at all, so FMVP must feel better.

And I guess it's a blessing in disguise for Jokic losing the MVP to Joel Embiid this season. But what's important and what others players are also saying, that it's the championship that counts, not the individual award although it's good to have the trophy in your room. So I guess this will be the sweetest MVP that Jokic will get if ever they are going to win the next game at their homecourt and be the NBA champions. And if we will go back and see him reaching this heights, maybe we can say that it's just a matter of time and all the pieces working together. Him and then a healthy Jamay Murray and Porter Jr, and add Gordon who seems to evolved as he as obviously a high flyer and a dunker. But when we moves to the Nuggets team, his role has change.

Blessing in disguise to the fact that he inspired to perform more better than him. It also shows that Jokic deserve to get that trophy but guess this one happens. But still its fine since Jokic know is near to get his first ever Finals MVP and get his team their first ever championship ring. For sure this will be big for them since this is the first time happen to them. I bet this series will end up on game 5 since we can see that Miami cannot handle the Nuggets roster.

Or what if Jokic has the Jordan mentality? took it personal that's why he bring out the best in himself and now maybe showing those who didn't vote on him in getting the MVP. But as we all know, he was a clear winner for this year, so I guess he deserves it more for being the FMVP and his team bagging their 1st ever championship. So yes, you can call it blessing for him now.

Just one game more for the Nuggets, we also should give props to coach Malone, he is one of the most underrated coach. We took about coach Spo adjustment in how he bring the Heat to the finals. But Malone also did well in inspiring him team to perform every game, win or lose.
967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 11, 2023, 10:01:42 AM
Despite all his personal problems, Teofimo managed to prevail in this fight. It was a very strong performance. I was disappointed in Taylor because it did not seem like he gave his best effort.

This was a great comeback for Teo after how bad he looked in his last fight. If he had lost many would question whether he should retire but now he has the possibility of massive paydays in his future.

For the record, Lopez has beaten two former undisputed and lineal champions and these are Lomachenko and Taylor, Lopez shows his true form it's the best Lopez I've seen after the Loma fight.

Now things are interesting now there are talks of a Ryan Garcia fight but the way Lopez boxes and if he could maintain this he will rule the light welterweight for many years

I don't think there should be a rematch but if there is a clause Taylor can activate that but it's not going to do him good, he needs two more fights the long layoff causes him this fight.

Very interesting version of Lopez that we have seen here, and it seems that he up his game whenever he will face a great champion, like Loma (although questionable that time because of Loma's shoulder), and Taylor tonight.

Taylor looks very amateurish in this fight though, it could be weight issues as there are members here who thought that he has problems with 140 lbs based on his last fight against Jack Catterall and for sure Jack might what to have a crack on Teo Lopez too in the future. 140 lbs seems to be huge with this big upset win by Teo and everyone will be jockeying for position to fight Lopez next.
968  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance US Halts USD Deposits issues a fiat withdrawal warning? SEC vs Exchanges on: June 11, 2023, 09:27:05 AM
I read somewhere yesterday that China is welcoming all crypto exchanges to its country for a peace operation, US don't know what they are throwing out of the window right now, crypto isn't the reason why the USD is losing face, they are trying to make it look like that, but I suspect that many US citizens are moving their money off bank accounts into crypto investment and the government doesn't like this.

It's better if Binance leave the US for good, but I think it was not easy for CZ to run the Binance US in the first place, and he believes that the US citizens are playing a major part in the adoption of crypto, that's why he didn't want the US out of the book, this is my own thoughts, nothing confidential.

Care to share the links though?

As far as I know they too have their crack down way back in 2018, that's why Binance has move out somewhere else. So I will take this with a pitch of salt though, I doubt that China will suddenly make a U-turn and welcome crypto exchanges, specially Chinese based like Binance.

In any case this is expected from SEC though, this might be a on-going battle for Binance and most likely they already have Plan B for this ready to execute just in case SEC attack them.
969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 10, 2023, 12:44:37 PM
This is going to be a long debate though, it's casinos vs their customers, and I doubt that there will be a clear winner. As the OP said it could be one way for casinos to scam or somewhat not honor the agreement by not giving the winnings even if they have passed KYC already. And perhaps the customers is saying the truth and going to extra length to do video conference to proved that he is the one playing and that all of the documents is legit. But then again, online casino can say otherwise because their so called fraud department detected that something is not right. The only way to do this dispute is too really have a 3rd party to mediate between the two.
970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 10, 2023, 12:05:07 PM
It was another amazing night for Nuggets. Butler was once again not himself exactly and this helped Nuggets win even much easier. We have been saying over and over again that Butler should improve his performance in offense and play like he was doing before the final series. But it looks like his mind is still not fully concentrated on this series.

As long as Butler doesn't take extra responsibility this team don't have much potential to win a game anymore in the series. It has already become 3-1 and Jokic is getting close to carrying the team to the first championship in their history.

He did actually, but it was not enough, and in order for them to win, I guess Butler has to take the scoring load as his team mates are not there for him. Maybe another 40-50 point performance might do it for him and the team.

But it will take a lot from the Heat now as they are down 3-1. And we might as well conclude that it will be the Nuggets as the new champion for this season. And I think they deserved it, winning the tough West conference and then just stomping everyone in the playoffs.
971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 10, 2023, 10:23:38 AM
I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

Same here, and the worst thing is that we have to look for source of the money that we have to play, maybe we need to loan or pawn something in order to continue to play.

And it's really hard to control that emotions though, I mean we have regrets when we get out of a landbase casinos or exited from online gambling platform and think that it's over for us as we lost big amount of money. But the next morning, we have to find a way to have the money again to continue to gamble despite what happen to us the night before. And I guess this will continue until you admit to yourself that gambling is really that bad and that you have to stop the madness of losing money.
972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Transaction is not been processed on: June 10, 2023, 09:54:09 AM

Where did you send the fund to? Does 1AZepsGtdPNoE369k6c8hMgWzVnkxQNbjd belong to a non-custodial wallet or a custodial service?
If the address belongs to a custodial service like an exchange, the only thing you can do is wait.
It's an exchange wallet. I have no problem waiting as far as I can get my asset back

Good, because you can't do anything about it, as others have said, but to wait.

Let this be just a lesson not just for you but for everyone else to check the state of the mempool to see how much fee you need to in order for your transaction to at least in the next block. We all know that it's getting expensive, but if you are in hurry then there's you have to bump your fee.
973  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitcoin market is back on track on: June 10, 2023, 09:32:41 AM
Even though the current price is declining, I'm sure the price will return to the track immediately, of course if the price has reached $ 30k, it can be said to return to the right path, and I'm sure the price of $ 30k will occur in June, now what we think about is continuing to buy And don't panic.

Immediately? meaning short term? I doubt that we will remain to or reach $30k though, even at the end of the month. There's too much going on the market right now, for sure you have heard the SEC vs Coinbase/Binance case, if not then I urge you to read about it.  As much as we say that it doesn't have an effect, but as we can see the price goes to $25k again, so it's not a good sign.

However, if we are going to look at long term, then no doubt I can see the price recovering maybe in what we called the -ber months, the last quarter of the year. There could be a good bounce and we might see the price going to $30k-$40k before the end of the year.
974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 09, 2023, 03:55:00 PM

And again, our argument that Donaire is not getting old, might go against him if the fight is going to happen next year.

It's truly unfair for him. Other boxers have already been given the opportunity to fight, while he has to wait for another chance just to get back into action. It appears that they don't want to see Donaire become a champion again, as his presence could potentially jeopardize the opportunities for younger contenders if they opt for a unification fight.

It's not that mate, people surely wanted to see Donaire fighting again inside the ring because only few boxers are still that active now considering his situation. It's just that the situation is not on his favor because Richard Schaefer of the Probellum (Donaire's promoter) does have a current problem that hasn't been resolved which is why Donaire is stagnant and inactive for over a year now.

Probellum no longer exist, it was disbanded and all their boxers have been absorbed by the new promoter/manager. But Donaire though and one or two boxers remains loyal to Richard Schaefer. So he still carries Donaire minus the Probellum name.

That's why it doesn't make sense for Donaire or Richard to get this deal happen in the US and not in Mexico. They should be cleared as they bolted out from that management already. There could be serious allegations though, but I think Richard is clean or not tied up to the former owner of Probellum.
975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year on: June 09, 2023, 03:30:48 PM
Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year One Online and Offline

This is the most depressing thing to do, you'll be surprised at the amount,  I did this 4 years ago on offline number betting and Lottery I kept all the tickets I sometimes win 3rd and 4th prizes but every time I won consolation I increase my tickets I consider this a sign that I will hit the jackpot soon but unfortunately it never happens.

When I count all my losses on numbers and the lottery it's enough to buy a small parcel of a lot and build a bungalow type and we're just renting a room back then.

Again I did it 3 years ago when I become active in online casinos and the amount is also depressing I could have bought a tricycle that I can use for a living.

So I stopped counting my losses and just minimize my betting I just tried to be happy on the thought that I have good times betting and I enjoy the thrill.

I voted for NO, in the beginning, I might have at some point trying to at least write down my loses. But in the end, I say "f**k" it, I will just play whatever I want without looking at how much I lost vs my winnings.

Because just like in your case, it might be depressing on how big the money that I have totally lost on gambling already and for sure I will feel shit about it. I just the key and what we have heard so many times, just play the money that you can afford to lose. And with that, you don't need to look back at your gambling activity and those 'what if' scenario.
976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 09, 2023, 03:16:30 PM
So many trade scenarios being tossed around all the sudden. Usually this would wait until after the Finals. I guess without a major superstar in this year’s Finals people are going a little crazy. I’m reading that DeAndre Ayton is as good as gone out of Phoenix and they’re trying to get Damian Lillard or Draymond Green and Jordan Poole in return. Phoenix sounds like they’ll be the first team making big moves.

Yeah, I think Ayton's name has been floating a while now, and I'm not surprised though with Jordan Poole's name as well as good trading bait for the Warriors with the way he performed this playoff, and the drama.

I just thought that Damian Lillard will remain a Blazer as he is loyal to the organization. But if he keeps on getting injured, sooner or later the management will have to revamp the team itself and look for fresh legs and faces to their franchise. It's just pity that Dame's prime years with Portland didn't yield any good results as they are getting knockout.
977  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: June 08, 2023, 05:54:43 PM
Bitcoin will go to $ 40 if $ 30k is reached and stays above it,
if it is still below $ 30k then I myself still hesitate to say $ 40k is ready for Bitcoin,
especially in a bear market all bad news is very sensitive, it can be seen that Bitcoin has fallen from $ 30k to $ 25k ,
yes -$5k in just a short time.

Isn't it obvious though that it will be the first line of resistance that we need to break? Although we have broken $30k already, but that run was not sustainable for us as the price goes down hard, many selling to make a profit specially those who bought at the bottom at $15k and probably waiting again to re-invest when the price goes to at least $20k (but we don't know if the price can go that low again, unless if there is a black swan event.)

Regarding $40k, market sentiments is not that good specially with the whole negative news that Binance and Coinbase is getting. SEC filing cases against this two crypto exchange might have a big effect on the price, so short term, I doubt that $40k can be breach then.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you Considered a Career in Betting Consultancy? on: June 08, 2023, 05:35:22 PM
I mean 69k$? salary per year, okay, probably more of a sports nerd is needed in this career, know everything stats, etc. But that doesnt look right even though you know everything theirs no way they can predict every time right? Also, you cant rely your money on your consultant that doesnt make sense.

For sure this wasn't accurate but more like of an adviser but the decision was still yours in the end, But maybe this is a place for these people since rich people who love to gamble surely could easily pay a Sports expert or a consultant asking for advice, etc. that could help him decide, still, we have since a lot of professional bets and make a prediction on a team but still lose. Possibly can become a great analyst and can be a good asset to something like a TV show that reports on sports.

As you have said, it's more on the numbers and data analytics, in the last couple of years it has evolved already. But I guess it has existed way before, it's that now it has it's own category and we have seen teams using this analytics before and during the game to analyse and give them a better chance to win.

Maybe this is where this so called betting consultancy came into the picture. Perhaps individuals who are good in number and analytics will be hired to do it. Definitely, it's not going to be accurate, but at least if might give you some advantage at least odds might be slight on your favor if you know how to read those data and crunch it.
979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 08, 2023, 05:18:34 PM
Let's see about that because it seems to me that the Lakers got their own plan to improve their roster next season. Even the rumored Dallas trade will not be happen because the Lakers front office already said that they are not interested about the offer, unless the Mavericks are willing to let go Luka in exchange for Lebron.
This season the Lakers have played well even though they didn't get maximum results but at least they have been better than the previous season.
It seems you are right that the Lakers will not be interested in the Dallas trade offer and I did read an update on this one rumor.
Luka is such a great player that it would be impossible for the Mavericks to just let him go.
If this exchange happened then he would lose quite a bit of power to his team.

Or the Lakers is willing to let go of Lebron, I guess the contention is that we have seen Lebron and Kyrie do their handshake when they were still teammates and maybe that's where the rumour started. So it's interesting to see Kyrie being traded by the Dallas team in exchange of several players from the Lakers. However, it's more complicated now that we have heard that the Phoenix Suns is willing to let go of CP3 and so Lakers might be the first time that CP3 wanted to go because of Lebron. But we will see, for sure there will be other teams too willing to sacrifice and get the services of CP3 even though he is old.
980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Self custody will always win on: June 08, 2023, 04:47:14 PM
Self custody is always the way, it always has been. People like to trade with a small % of their stash though. Also if you have limit sell orders you have to leave your coins on an exchange. There is no other option there unfortunately. Obviously you mitigate risk but all of us at some point have some exposure to the potential of getting scammed by leaving money on exchanges.

Yeah, that's always been the case for us, specially those who have been in the market for so long, who has the experienced already on why self-custody is the best because putting thousands of dollars in exchanges are not the best options. We have seen and hear bad stories, the most notable is the Mt. Gox hacks.

Although maybe some of us have coins is some exchange because after all we are active traders. But I do believed that wise traders and speculators are not putting huge money in their account. Just a small % to continue with their daily trade and at least make some money out of it. And if they have profits already, then withdraw it right away.
