1  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't live above your affordability on: June 13, 2024, 11:12:38 PM
~
I feel... nothing really. Sure, if someone says they're able to afford a lot of stuff I'd be jealous, but only at that moment. Give me a couple of minutes and I'd probably forget all about it altogether lol. I'd be thinking more on how or what job I should apply for next really (Planning to job hop). Also wouldn't really call my current situation low, maybe near the middle ish? At the very least I have zero active loans so I can live quite comfortably imo.

Anyhow, highly advise to stop buying subscription based stuff if possible if they aren't needed like Netflix, Yt premium and stuff. That's probably the #1 thing I've always followed after hearing/reading about it somewhere and realizing how much it affected my finances lol.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you receive bonus bets/free spins? on: June 13, 2024, 10:06:43 PM
Pretty regular. At least during the time I play, I'd at the very least receive a couple of free spins for that session. Not exactly fishing for it though, if its there then nice, more spins/games to play, if not then that's also fine, just means that I'd play with the amount I originally expected myself to play with. Trying to minmax stuff like this just honestly kills the fun of it, and even if you point out the chance of winning big using free spins, at the end of the day it's only a CHANCE. And a pretty abysmal one at that.

Grats to you for managing to hit though.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino/gambling center near an institution of learning? on: June 13, 2024, 09:29:34 PM
Do you think having a casino or any gambling center close to an institution of learning, will influence the students somehow or should I say be a positive or negative reinforcement on them, in anyway?

Thoughts?
I'd say a no for me. More specifically near kindergartens, elementary, and high school institutions. Universities can do whatever the hell they want imo, but for the former 3, big no. I'd much rather kids learn about gambling in the safety net of their parents than in a place outside.

And in general, I'd really say to avoid placing entertainment institutions that can be taken as bad habits near academies anyway. Might be biased since I grew up in a household that heavily emphasized education so putting a casino near an academy just doesn't feel right. Granted I am guilty of gambling at school Tongue but most of it was just for fun with light money involved.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Secure Web3 Email the Future of Online Communication? on: June 12, 2024, 11:20:29 PM
~
Emails can be anonymous if you know how to, absolutely no need for a web3 email to do so. Plus, you can just go to a VM, create a new google account there with a random mail and stuff (they don't ask for KYC afaik) and just use that specific VM to send emails as you wish. VM is needed since afaik google still tracks whatever you do in your browser or something? Not sure, but just to be safe and if you want that complete anonymity.

Plus, there's probably a SaaS solution out there, maybe even open source, so it won't even be a hard thing to do/implement.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guess Solana Memecoins Investors craving risk right now on: June 12, 2024, 09:44:19 PM
~
They've always been there buddy. I think they just got more apparent since a lot more meme coins have been releasing lately, so the market is a lot more active compared to the past. An example would be Pepe, after the initial hype it had it died down a couple of months afaik. It wasn't before a couple of months ago that it started making pumps again all of a sudden (which I luckily profited a bit from).

And it's becoming a good place for investors since the margin for profit can be an insane amount if you get lucky. Even a couple of bucks can become thousands a few hours later after all. Just that, most meme coins have no basis at all whatsoever hence why I call it luck. Not to mention that some of the teams themselves manipulate the market lol.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The real winning of gambling is withdrawals on: June 12, 2024, 09:25:42 PM
~
It's nothing weird, it's usually just the dopamine talking to you. It's really nothing bad imo, just don't fall into it too much to the point where you try to deposit more money to play more. Just set an amount you'd be fine losing for the day and play! That's usually how I do stuff. I wouldn't deny that withdrawing would be really great if you want to stop but as I've said, dopamine can get into your brain pretty deep in sometimes. Usually I just let it play within the initial limit I set so it's satisfied since abruptly stopping can be pretty hard.

If you really want to spend your winnings somewhere else than casinos, then learn to limit yourself. Nothing much more we can do about that. You can maybe set a timer intervals via an extension that blocks you from the casino after x minutes/hours, but that's not really limiting you from spending your winnings, it's limiting you spending time to gamble in general.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading or gambling? on: June 12, 2024, 08:49:27 AM
~

You'd have better chance of making money in trading in gambling because it was made that way. Gambling was made to entertain you WHILE the casino/bookie is getting money from you. It's really that simple imo. Heck, what OP told about the tools already speaks volume about how trading was made to assist you in making money. Tools in casino? Doesn't exist! Even the info databanks of sports you can use to judge what team would win wouldn't matter since it doesn't help you prevent a loss. It's either 100 or 0.

And the only real advantage gambling can provide over trading is that it's enjoyable. It's fun! At least personally for me that is.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Involve an attorney in your business dealings. on: June 12, 2024, 02:03:29 AM
~
Depends honestly? If it was something heavy and well, big on money, I'd definitely hire a lawyer to check on the proceedings of the contract signing. If not, then I don't think there's a need to. Lawyers can be a costly hire after all. And well, not exactly sure how long you're supposed to take to sign a contract but if it's not in a rush, I reckon the other party can give you time to read and contemplate the contract details before signing it. Pretty sure plenty enough time to scrutinize the contract details, especially if it's not as heavy as an instance like where you do need a lawyer.

Personally have no experience with it though. I've had contracts but just some freelancing stuff plus my job contract as well, nothing too complicated.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to resolve gambling related wallet issues on: June 12, 2024, 01:35:43 AM
Creating this thread for us to discuss what ways to resolve wallet blacklist on exchange because of gambling related issues.

What motivate me to start this thread is a recent event with a popular exchange which freezes a customer account because of funds received from gambling site as rewards, so in this kind of situation where a wallet
got blacklisted what are the ways to go about redressing and to redeem the situation legally.
You can't do anything afaik. It's an exchange, they always have it in their ToS to have the legal right to freeze an account if they deem the funds to be "illegal" or they just have it in their ToS that they don't allow money from casinos. I'd honestly just try to talk to customer support, and submit any details whatsoever if needed to unfreeze the account if possible if they indicate the funds were detected to be illegal. If it was from a casino and they indeed don't allow it, well that's on you I'd say.

What came to my mine most often is that, excahges are like banks, and when there is a huge inflow of fund's, their tend to question the source of the funds which is a normal procedure and is clearly mentioned in the condition of service (TOS) of most excahges and even gambling sites too, mostly centralised platforms have this rule in place, sometimes $5000 is the benchmark of most of them.

Their regularly overlook smaller amount and to a large extent we have seen that majority's of the excahges may be gambling friendly most we still have few cases of account restriction because of gambling related activities.
I'd say any institution that handles money would always have a sort of trigger for when a sudden influx of money comes in. Should be normal procedure for them imo since they do want to guard against their platform being used as a way to launder money after all.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Should there be a limit to investing in your children? on: June 11, 2024, 01:49:26 AM
~
It shouldn't even be a matter of investing lol. Children should be offered the best education that their parents can afford always. If they don't want to go to college and instead pursue their passion, parents should support them. Maybe offer the risks but that's about it, they shouldn't really be able to control them. Heck parents should be considered as a sort of investment really for their children instead of the other way around really.

And again, if they stopped thinking of them as investments, they wouldn't have pushed both their financial status (enough to go under debt) and the child as well to the point where they have nothing to provide since the kid had no passion for what the parents pushed for.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins do you own or have you collected until now? on: June 11, 2024, 12:58:43 AM
Probably never going to be enough I'd say? It is not double digits yet, pretty close, but not yet. I would've probably gotten to two digits by now if I didn't panic sell when the pandemic started. I bought it at around 12k ish, sold at idk, 5k I think? Pandemic and panic just meshed together which made me sold, together with me being inexperienced with crypto lol.

Would probably go down, planning to sell quite a bit when the market hits its next bull run so any goal (such as owning more than one) would probably take around 2-3 years ish before I get that double.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny - Pacquiao VS Chihiro Suzuki Exhibition Match on: June 11, 2024, 12:23:45 AM
Idk, I'm pretty sure Manny is still pretty good with his body. Pretty sure he's still constantly training his body and mind, and I mean look at the man, he doesn't look like 40 at all! Not to mention that it's an exhibition match so I don't think it's going to put much pressure to him at all. That doesn't mean that Suzuki would stand no chance though since his victories already speak for themselves. All in all looks like an interesting match imo which there's something in the players for both sides.

Just let him stay there really, tell him to get out of politics already Tongue.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Fan Tokens: be a New Trend in Crypto? on: June 09, 2024, 10:59:37 PM
~
New trend in scamming fans out of their money Wink. Pretty sure they're an old thing though. I think clubs just didn't go through and continue with it since they didn't see any possible profitability in it in the long run especially if you consider how majority of their fans would probably be non-crypto people themselves. Granted as well they can probably just do NFTs instead, or just real life merch which would cost more to make, but would probably generate more profit for them as well.

And let's be real, a coin in my wallet does not make me in no way feel more connected to the teams I support lol.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Navigating the crypto world for extra income on: June 09, 2024, 09:33:02 PM

Most of the time gimmicks. Some of them give out legit rewards, but more often than not the value you get is really low. It's probably due to how easy it is to make the coin itself and with a bit of know-how, you can create a "business" look-a-like model that you can show to people so that you can scam the money out of them. I'd honestly not recommend any beer money-like schemes in crypto itself, you'd probably just waste your time.

Look outside of crypto instead and use the money you earn to invest. It can be doing survey questionnaires, a 2nd job, or a part-time. Look for something that can suit your time. Best choice here related to crypto would be signature campaigns but that requires more time than what I initially recommended (due to merit requirements).
15  Economy / Economics / Re: The government cares for no one but waits for you to get rich for taxes paying. on: June 09, 2024, 09:07:14 PM
My question.... If the government could find utilizations on the citizens for taxations on generating funds for infrastructures and other government services , why don't they invest on the citizens or support those with the potentials to productiveness knowing quite well that once they makes success, they would be demanded to also contributed to the growing structures of the economy?
Politics. They don't want to initiate projects that don't have any solid way for people to immediately see what they did, so they don't do those kinds of projects where it's designed to benefit the city in the long run. I've worked with the government before and you can see this from the way they structure their projects lol. Might be a bit biased on the one I worked on, but I think in general that's how it goes. Sadly enough even these projects that are being shown and immediately made/built still suck lol.

Though in general as others have said, taxes are still being paid by everyone. Just that at a certain point, it becomes really easy to use the laws to bypass taxes and I'd say that's the point where you can call yourself rich lol.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Team strength as the main predictor. on: June 09, 2024, 11:11:20 AM

It's the main factor. But it doesn't mean that it equates to 100% of the factors involved, nor does it mean that it's a 100% guarantee that the stronger team would win. There's always going to be that humane factor where the players themselves just become gods for some specific instances, which is incalculable in terms of statistics, compared to players, coaches and the like which are. Even referees! The term Black Horses came about for a reason after all. Not to mention that it's only public data. Maybe a new player comes in, meshes well with the team and becomes the glue that lets them perform 150% more than they usually would.

I don't consider surface stuff like the venue though, that's just stretching it imo.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is web3 casino the new trend for casinos? on: June 09, 2024, 04:35:41 AM
~
You'd probably see web3 casinos as not so legal way of gambling imo. They don't have a license nor can they get one unless they go away from the no KYC model after all, and I highly doubt it'd continue on for long since as you've said, casinos deal with money and the government would do absolutely anything so that they can make them adapt KYC for the sake of AML. If they don't, well, the casinos would simply be illegal. Geoblocking would probably be the most basic action you'd see them do, which honestly has a pretty big impact already on their business.

Not to mention that most of the so-called "web3" are still, well, centralized. The only thing they offer that's web3-like is integrations to their wallets and at that point, it lost all it's advantages since in the first place, anonymity was the #1 thing web3 was supposed to provide.

18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Odds discussion) Would you still stick in your favorite casino if....? on: June 09, 2024, 12:19:31 AM
Well if you prefer to maximize your odds then the higher the odds the better. Well, I'd only ever start doing this maybe upwards $1k? I don't think it's worth the effort and time to check all the odds and swap to them when the amount you bet is below that. Other than that yea, definitely. Sports betting is for betting money anyway, kind of different on how I view it against casinos

This is ignoring the reputation of the casino, features, issues, stuff like that btw, cause if we include that then no matter how high the odds are if they were pretty bad at doing their jobs, I'd much rather go to my comfort bookie.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you lost the money that you where supposed to withdraw from online casino? on: June 08, 2024, 12:08:59 PM
~
Maybe they have a limit to the number of withdrawals allowed? Kind of weird, but hey it happens and it's their casino lol.

Also kind of misleading, you didn't lose the money due to the withdrawal, you lost the money due to your greed. Stop misplacing the blame to the casino here, pretty sure 100% of it is in your hands. Personally, i've never had this instance before, granted I rarely withdraw money in the first place. I just use them as a bonus for more plays, or just subtract my usual deposit amount by what is leftover to maximize it. Highly doubt it'd happen anyway even if I did leave it for withdrawal the next day.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokenomics: how much founder-benefitting premine would you accept? on: June 08, 2024, 03:22:31 AM
~
Up to 5% max. As you've already said, premine coins from founders/team simply end up crashing into the market after a reasonable price is achieved, so it just ends up ruining the economy of it. Not to mention that it just ruins the idea that the coin was supposed to be swayed by the market, and not by the team behind it. With 5% max, they can sell it but it wouldn't be significant enough to sway the market to go the way they want to.

If it's possible really I'd want a validation model like Bitcoin but hey, not every team out there can be Satoshi Tongue.
