21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your biggest gamble/risk of 2024 so far? on: September 20, 2024, 09:24:48 AM
~

I think the $150 bet I had once? Like I was so tired and shit but I wanted to gamble so bad but at the same time I wanted to finish up quickly to rest so what I did was just pool in all of my supposed deposits that day to one bet plus the rest that was leftovers from my last session. Totaled about $150 ish, maybe a bit more but pretty sure it was around that range. Did I win? Nope. Was it worth it? I...'d like to say yes but in hindsight, it probably was a dumb decision and I probably should've just slept. Granted even if i did win adrenaline would've probably kept me up and I would've still spent the entire thing, but still, it is what it is.

22  Economy / Economics / Re: Cutting cost: Do we really need the latest smartphone? on: September 20, 2024, 01:59:09 AM
~
I believe it's much more prevalent with iPhone users? It's like some sort of cult at this point that whenever Apple releases a new product, they just automatically buy it lol. Now I won't judge for others for the most part since idrk how much the specs improve to the point they'd find it justifiable for say, their job, but in general afaik most people use their phones for, well, tasks and I don't think that warrants an upgrade lol. It's not like there's any specialized job out there that specifically requires the latest types of phones. As for the AI tech, pretty sure it's backwards compatible to previous models (otherwise it's a pretty dogshit upgrade ngl), so I don't think that's a reason to upgrade.

Definitely a bad idea imo. For me personally at this point any mid-end phone is actually fine and I'd probably be able to use it for at least 5 years since I mostly just do reading on my phone.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot Strategies- Sticking with One Game or Switching it Up? on: September 19, 2024, 10:39:06 AM
~
I usually keep playing even if I win. I probably try to win at least, 4, 5 times before stopping? And I also don't cash out. The money usually stays in the account and if there's quite a bit when I stop, I usually just take a break maybe an hour or two, then play again. Usually repeats twice to three times a day, but doesn't really happen that much since I usually end up losing everything instead of having an abundant amount lol.

As for the games themselves, slots are a part of the pattern and yes, they usually change, like a lot.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using casino bonus frequently is an abused? on: September 19, 2024, 05:12:27 AM
~
Their casino their rules? You also noted that you were "limited" on using the bonus already (and I'm rather confused why they just didn't auto set for you to be unable to use it after a certain point) so I reckon it's because of overuse rather than winning. They probably got a hold of your multiaccounts which I reckon uses all the bonuses talked about here, and they just took action. Sadly I think most of this is just our (or my) assumption really and we can't exactly know how you abused the bonus so I don't think we'd get to the bottom of why they restricted your account.

And to add, winz (and pretty much any casino out there) always holds a clause that they have the right to exclude customers when they detect "abuse", so they're pretty much the only ones who can answer how you abused the system exactly.
25  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Addiction Debate: Virtual vs Real-Life Gaming on: September 19, 2024, 12:46:48 AM
~
Wdym traditional real life games? Like sports? or just gambling but in reality? If it was the latter then they're not really that much different from playing online, they still get that instant reward gratification, heck even more so since chips look pretty great imo compared to just seeing numbers.

If it was the former, then yeah there's definitely a massive difference. But see I don't think there's any purpose in comparing the two since the entire game of sports is a "process", similar to how someone clicking on Bet on a casino is also a process. Granted it's longer yes, but nonetheless process so I don't think it has that much difference.

Now as for what you really want to say OP about instant gratification, it's not necessarily limited to gamblers or gambling. Any game is like this, and it's for the reason that it's for entertainment. It wouldn't be fun if it was delayed for no reason no? lol. But anw, they're definitely addictive which I agree with. It's a part of being addicted yes, but it still the mentality of a person that shoulders majority of the cause, not the game itself.
26  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Market Manipulation! Is it real? on: September 18, 2024, 02:31:11 PM
Pretty sure a majority of the memecoins that are out there are examples of manipulated markets? Ofc it's harder to see on bigger and well known markets like Bitcoin and other big alts, but it's pretty obvious at times in some shitcoins that we see. Even in the Bitcoin market, I reckon there's some manipulation happening there but probably a lot smaller in terms of scale, and probably reduced in both impact and duration.

And also, it wouldn't really be an effective manipulation if people can easily see it like that, especially in big markets lol. It also doesn't even need to be direct to the prices, just touching on FOMO and the like would be enough imo to say that someone is swaying the market already.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does a completely automated/ robot controlled casino centre sound? on: September 18, 2024, 11:49:12 AM
~
Sounds great for introverts who just want to gamble and have fun but still want to experience a physical casino. Granted that's not exactly what I'm thinking about, I'm thinking more of those anonymous-ish types of settings where people can leave the betting stuff to the robot and they just take a seat on some sort of fancy theater like place where they can watch the games (that they play still). It's kind of like online, but you're in a physical site, with a lot of fancy stuff.

I swear what I had in mind was a lot more advanced but in hindsight that just kinda sucks lol. But anyway, we'd probably see this amongst other entertainment places before casinos first. Sounds interesting yeah, and can definitely add something more to casinos than just players betting. Maybe even a mix of robots and players playing would be fun to see.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the changing value of BTC affect your decision to gamble in crypto casinos? on: September 17, 2024, 09:57:16 PM
~
Not really, no. At the very least I haven't given a single damn when trying to play about the value of my money. Usually, I'm concerned with the multiplier that the money I won with, e.g. I doubled, made half of my current balance stuff like that. Not to mention that whenever I deposit money, it's usually dependent on BTC's USD value. After that I'd start ignoring the general price of BTC whenever I play.

I will 100% swallow my words if it was, for instance, a case where I deposited in the 2013-2014 and the price jumped up to 50k. No matter what I'd give concern to the BTC in my gambling wallet lol. I'd stop gambling with it and instead sell it.
29  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to approach a trading competition?? on: September 17, 2024, 08:42:36 PM
~
I don't think there's anything different about it from regular trading other than the additional stakes as a competition so if you're already a pretty good trader, there's nothing much for you to do really.

Ofc it may vary based on the way the competiton is making you guys compete with but jus stick to what you know and you'd be fine. Even if you lose the competition itself you should only lose ny failing to maximize profits. Minimizing losses shluld always be the bare minimum.

The only new factor here I reckon is time abd money involved since you're definitely going to need to trade a lot more than usual.
30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet365 Fined £582K for Regulatory Breaches – What Does This Mean for Gamblers? on: September 17, 2024, 08:34:56 AM
~
For social responsibility it just looks (or sounds) like a bunch of gibber to me, social interaction isn't a yes/no question so I'd say trying to set a metric for it sounds meaningless, if I understood that correctly. I'm also pretty confused why they give a damn about why the casino would give interactions that aren't "meaningful". It's a casino, it's for people to have fun lol. If they don't have fun they can just leave.

As for AML, it sounds like they just went with having as light KYC as possible (and bad documentation it seems) and got hit for it. I don't really think there's any that's going to hit gamblers or change, pretty sure most casinos are already enforcing strict KYC anyway. At least I don't think anything going to change.

Just talked to their live support, and it seems like it can't be changed lol. I was frustrated the same way you were since I wanted to change it as well. Someone in the sig campaign thread said that supposedly, there was going to be a registration page when you click on the "Account" icon on the top right, but I think the site just directly made an account linked to my telegram lol.

33  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which would you prefer, teaser or parlay bet? on: September 17, 2024, 01:11:02 AM
~
From what I know aren't teasers a bit easier (or at least, less riskier) versions of parlays? I rarely play parlay but at the very least, compared to how teasers were described (and what I've read so far) I reckon parlays are way more exciting to play with compared to teasers. After all in most cases, the greater the risk the greater the excitement it can actually bring. It also includes the fact that you play around what was given to you, so the thinking/strategizing part also kind of pushes you to think carefully, adding more excitement to it.

Granted I've lost most of my parlays hence why I rarely play them now lol.
34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: AsidesTrading, What Are Less Risky Methods of making money in crypto(? on: September 15, 2024, 09:47:39 PM
~
Pretty sure anything in trading involves some level of risk and I can't exactly say any of them is low in level. I'd guess the lowest you can get is either investing in Bitcoin (or any coin you think is going to last long) which yields better rewards in the long run imo, as well as mining coins yourself. There are still some level of risks but they're a lot more manageable compared to investing god knows how much in altcoins who are going to die in the next few weeks after release, or at least most of them anyway. You can try shorting them but that's not exactly low risk.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier to rig, point spread or total? on: September 15, 2024, 11:19:54 AM
Hmm I think total would be easier to rig? It's a lot easier to manipulate and there's a lot of room for error, at least in comparison to point spread. Granted with proper planning on both sides they can pretty much just "enact" a play of sorts so either one would pretty much be easy for them to manipulate. I highly doubt things would go that easy for the most part though so pretty much I'd say total would be a lot easier. Not sure if the type of sport would even matter here since both teams are in it. If even the ref was in it then hell that'd make things way easier for them as well.

37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Regarding sports betting, how do you do your analysis if u don't have much time? on: September 15, 2024, 01:26:50 AM
Regarding sports betting, how do you do your analysis if you don't have much time?

Some people, work and personal issues take up a lot of their time. So, if this person likes football, but most of the time doesn't have time to watch most of the games or only follows their club's games, this person bets only when their team plays or makes bets without another source of analysis based on guesses.

If you fit this persona, if you have positive results, how do you achieve positive results in most of your bets while balancing time, work and other activities?

I'm talking about football, but it can be any other sport you prefer.
It depends on how heavy the analysis you want it to be? You can set up some scripts/bot scrapers and whatnot to tally data from news/media about a certain team for the past month if you're able to and you'd be able to grab a lot of info regardless of whether you have time or not since the script does it for you. If you do it personally then yeah, can be quite tedious and I honestly wouldn't bother if it affects other matters that you have that much. Remember that it's just gambling at the end of the day, not worth it to sacrifice other important things over. I'd only ever push someone to spend their time to analyze if that was their actual paying job, otherwise, my opinion stands.

38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: iShowspeed vs. Manny Pacquiao exhibition fight? on: September 14, 2024, 09:06:36 AM
Pretty sure this was just for fun lol, and it shows.  I mean look at where they fought in the first place, and look at iShowspeeds face, 100% just him having fun and doing it cause of Manny being famous and him, well, visiting him. I mean, if I was that buffed I would want to somehow have fun with Manny ya know? He's just that much of a legend in the boxing scene after all.

Now as for an exhibition match, highly doubt an official one would ever happen. iShowspeed just doesn't feel like he'd ever do so really, I reckon he'd much rather have fun visiting other countries and touring. And I don't think he has a background in boxing even? Like I reckon an exhibition match would only happen if the other party has at least some background with it.
39  Economy / Economics / Re: There are still really a lot of fools when it comes to crypto investment? on: September 14, 2024, 12:48:53 AM
~
Isn't that just par for the course? Scams wouldn't be a thing if people realized that they are scams, and even if people do realize it, scams would simply just evolve again so that people don't assume that it is one. Sometimes it's lack of awareness yes but some others just simply have that much skill when it comes to human engineering. It doesn't help that countering/preventing being manipulated isn't exactly taught to the general public for the most part and is just a to each their own kind of thing.

Aaaand also doesn't help that a lot of people want easy money lol.
40  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you ever had legal problem due to playing on Curacao licenses online casinos? on: September 13, 2024, 10:33:38 AM
~
Don't people usually do KYC for that? And if the casino discovers that the player is from a country they deem illegal (whether it's by them or by the country), pretty sure they just outright deny/ban the user themselves so I don't think such situations would normally happen.

Now if it actually does happen, I don't think they'd even try to declare their taxes lol. I don't think most people do so even! And even if they do, I don't think they'd let them know it was from a banned casino in the first place. If they didn't even know how to do that they would've probably been stopped already by geo blocking or something imo.
