901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 19, 2023, 10:51:21 PM
~
The moment I read this I already had a judgement on just how dumb the idea is. I reckon the idea came because people can't know the future, so until you try you'd never know what may actually happen. The thing is, this directly invalidates a person's capability of making their own judgment, especially in this case where you've already tried, but you won't quit cause well, you never know, it "may" actually just work. Decide for yourself, use your own judgment. You're losing? That's fine, but again, decide for yourself. You're winning? The same thing, decide for yourself. Just don't let dumb sayings sway your decision-making (and greed), especially in gambling. It's for entertainment, treat it like one.
902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: July 19, 2023, 10:25:19 PM
~
Well if we were to talk about mistakes, there'd be a LOT of them not just from me but from any gambler out there. I'd consider any win a big win after all, it is a lot better compared to losing anyway. I don't really remember much my dumb decisions, but I guess the one that stuck was a few bets from TI8 of Dota 2? Was a great event with great matches so it got stuck in my mind even after so long. I'd reckon in general my greed has done a lot of decision-making in the past, but well, that's just how it is, especially in gambling, it's always a part. Just don't let it exceed past a certain point and you're fine imo.
903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is Gamble gain more fans than Bitcoin? on: July 18, 2023, 11:15:25 PM
In the world to day gambling is leading instead of BitcoinBTC (crypto currency) and more are still wanting to join gambling because the minimum age to gamble is 18+ and lot of upcomings are waiting and this is the total amount of gamblers, so let's talk about the crypto currency (Bitcoin) we all know that Bitcoin is a good investment and it has changed a lot in the crypto world but the interesting part is that the numbers of Bitcoin investors can't be compared to gamble and my question is Why? or  is the risk involved in Bitcoin higher than gambling risk?
Just chesk this source
Because gambling existed way before crypto. Simple as that. In the first place, it's wrong to assume that gamblers understand or acknowledge the risk in gambling, it's a damn game, it's for enjoyment. And even if they actually do, it'd be rare to see them compare it to trading or analytics, that's just dumb stuff right there. It's like thinking how the red stones in Minecraft can be used to make that 16? or was it 32-bit computer in Minecraft. It's doable, but your average gamer would definitely not do it, let alone think about it.

And that kind of mindset is wrong in the first place anyway, since you're acknowledging that Gambling is similar (if not the same) to investing. While they both have risks, the fundamental things you need to know differ from both of them, and if we were considering risks, I'd say there's a LOT of things that would be similar to them at the same time then.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I understand meme coin good or bad position? on: July 18, 2023, 10:27:31 PM
How can I understand a meme coin's position in the current market? Is there any way to tell if it will be good or bad? I have seen MEXC exchange add many meme tokens daily. How to identify a good token from here?
...you don't. They're called memecoins for a reason. The teams behind them give out vague promises and their development path goes towards... what exactly? That's the feeling you'd get most of the time. Some of them go boom sometimes because they were intentionally manipulated behind the scenes imo, and at the same time, traders would go for anything that profit so if they see any coin that goes up like that all of a sudden? They'd get in and try to get a bite. That just snowballs into a lot of bad traders losing money on meme coins towards those people who are either early investors or the ones who pumped up the price in the first place.
905  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in is no longer a KYC free casino! (New terms) on: July 17, 2023, 11:02:04 PM
I'm guessing they got hit by their website hosting provider or something? Since afaik Freebitco.in doesn't have Curacao so that can't be it, and they've been able to be KYCless for so long after all. That, or they're trying to expand their site so they're building a foundation around it. Guess there won't be a KYC-less site in the long run like this one did.

I believe that most of the forum members have an account on FreeBitco.
Just to add, according to the terms they have (idk if its new, I never read them before), any account that was inactive for 12 months would be deactivated. They can email them back though to reactivate it if they ever wish to do so.
906  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be patient and you will be there soon. on: July 17, 2023, 10:18:22 PM
Patient is one of the key every BTC holders must embrace when waiting for bull market to come, because is a type of season every long and short BTC holders want to see before the end of the year before they can visit the market to sell. I bought BTC early last year when the price was $20k, and the price has taken a good step early this year to hit $30k which is very close to my expectations before I will start selling my BTC to have another opportunity to buy and hold for another bull to come. If you can endure with the current price situation, and hold not to allow any challenges make you to sell in this condition, I guess you will make a huge amount of profits from your holding soon. If the price of BTC reach $40k next month will you sell? I know many people will not sell until the price reach $100k, which it will take a long years before such dream will come to pass. What is your opinion.
... Why bother selling? Just keep hodling imo. I don't think we'd see the market go below $25k anymore, at least for the next half a year anyway. And since halving is next year, we'd probably see a pretty steady movement of the market till the following year, where according to past halvings, the point in time where price suddenly booms up. I certainly wouldn't sell at $40k, I'd probably wait till next year at the very least before judging whether to sell or not. A glad development if it goes up though, probably means there's higher chances of going higher than the last ATH.
907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto betting on: July 17, 2023, 09:54:42 PM
Duelbits and sportsbet are my usual sports for sports gambling, they're well-trusted and have a pretty solid reputation here. And afaik, stake also has their own sportsbook so you can go and try that out as well since they're also one of the reputable ones. Those are the only ones on the top of my head that I'm recently familiar with, but you can try scouring the forum for some reviews and recommendations list. Here's one example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5319144.0

btcgosu is also a well known casino/sportsbook review site, so they may have some that can interest you (though it also includes casinos as well, not just sportsbooks).
908  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto. on: July 17, 2023, 04:09:22 AM
Ok, 9 is kinda bs (from how I took it) It's positive reinforcement but let's be real, trading is a zero sum game, THERE will be a loser, and it's something you have to acknowledge all the time, since it means that can be you. Always. There comes a point where you just have to acknowledge imo that this isn't for you, just to cut losses properly, or maybe hire someone who can think for you, which in itself, is actually a skill.

For wanting to be traders and are one, they're good ideas though, but eh they're the general stuff to think about when it comes to important decision making.

909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $20,000 to invest in any Altcoins of your choice? on: July 16, 2023, 10:29:13 PM
If you don't have a particular choice, spread your money across the top 10 or 20 altcoins you want (or can pick out). Around 5 would probably do, but that's your preference though, you can get more if you thin each one out more after all. I'd also recommend Bitcoin if you haven't already depending on your goal you can either put the majority of your portfolio on it or if you're looking to be risky, I'd make it as a part, but the rest would go to relatively new altcoins (since they give off much more rewards if they succeed, but at the same time the risks are just as much though).

910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your thoughts on the impending Litecoin Halving? on: July 16, 2023, 09:45:12 PM
Not expecting much. It honestly seems like the boom of the 2020-2021 ish of Litecoin was due to the pandemic, and people were stumbling into crypto and a lot of people with money started investing in it. The 2016 one was well, a coin with an ideology having its first investors so naturally price would bump. I might be wrong with my first assumption but then that would mean that it would take more than a year, maybe two even before we see any pumps that could bring in profit.

I'd suppose if you have the money you can start hodling now, if not, maybe wait a year after the halving and then decide.
911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling effects on LGBTQ+ People on: July 16, 2023, 01:47:25 PM
Recently research was held by Dr Reece Bush-Evans who told that online gambling could Hide the sexuality of the LGBTQ+ people and most of these people prefer online gambling as compared to physical gambling for obvious reasons.

The more important concern for the LGBTQ+ people is that they are being treated differently in a casino which may come under harassment. Also, the study says that people at the casino, the staff plus the public have shown discriminatory behavior towards these people.

New Research Explores Effect of Gambling on LGBTQ+ People
Shouldn't it be the effects of being an LGBT to the experience of being a gambler and not the other way around? Not that it's something weird, as you've said, it's pretty obvious, especially if you consider how most places still don't really have their mindset changed with regards to the LGBTQ+ issue and stuff.

It's stupid research though imo. It doesn't prove anything, since in the first place, the bias exists still, the research proves nothing at all since the bias exists all over the world. Plus, it's titled wrong as I said, when gambling generally has the same effects all across the board, regardless of gender (or whatever you identify as). It's the same reason why there was a thread here but with women and gambling instead.
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Young people should take more advantage of the crypto space. on: July 16, 2023, 12:39:27 AM
~
Even if young people do the stuff you've said, such as education and awareness, it doesn't necessarily mean that they can actually use that advantage to their benefit. It's just like any other industry out there imo, just that there are a lot more opportunities here since it's new, and there's a lot of information that's available since it was released in an age where the internet was prospering. Proof of that is there are a lot of young people who were able to take advantage of the boom of crypto, but at the same time there were also a LOT of untold people who got lost in their way and just crashed.

Plus, in this industry if you want to be a developer of it, you'd either have to study marketing or development. Some people who just didn't (or don't want to) study this would have to go to investing, which is another whole study, so it's not really for everyone, especially for young people who tend to not like studying, at all. It also doesn't help that this section isn't really taught to them in school.
913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This is not Practical on: July 15, 2023, 11:23:39 PM
I have heard the advice that you should only use money you can afford to lose for gambling. I say that this is more theoretical than practical. Literally no one has money that they can afford to lose. I feel that money for gambling is a matter of opportunity cost. You either use the money for gambling or use it to meet a need. If using money one can afford to lose were practical there will be no need for articles on having a gambling budget or bank roll management. Hey gamblers my question is to you now is, the money you currently plan to use for gambling is it money that you can afford to lose?
No, people definitely have money they can afford to lose. Otherwise, people wouldn't have been able to manage their lifestyles of working, paying bills, maintenance, other types of fees together with their hobbies, which by the way, costs money (It's this part that we call we can afford to lose). It simply seems "theoretical" because you consider paying money for your hobbies or enjoyment the same as money you'd spend towards bills and whatnot.

Not that I blame you, outside of here, a majority of gamblers (and bankrupted ones) don't even probably know how to financially manage themselves. This is why learn that, before even considering spending money regularly on something.
914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on the Next Crypto Opportunity on: July 15, 2023, 01:04:12 PM
Regardless of any digital currency, it does not have any value itself. Its value comes from whether there is a market and whether it can be used in circulation. If it does not have these two points, it will not have much value. If there is a digital currency that can be used in a specific way  If it becomes a currency in circulation, its value will be very high.  Do you guys have any recommendations for this type of currency?
Isn't that every type of currency out there? It's just that most die down because the teams behind developing the use case for each currency die down, either due to the nature of the coin itself is a scam, or just that they suck at it and the market pretty much just pushed it down to oblivion.

As for good cryptos to invest in, then Bitcoin would be the natural recommendation, it's stood at the top for so long after all. The following would be the best altcoins, probably the usual ones in the top 10. if you want something new that can give great profits, then DYOR, those aren't exactly the types people would recommend (most of the time).
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Appropriate percentage of income for gambling on: July 15, 2023, 04:56:15 AM
Less than 5%. I often spend less though since some winnings are more often left over during my weekly/monthly sessions, so I just total that to what I usually deposit. I don't withdraw usually unless it's a really big win (which has never happened), so it's a pretty positive effect for me since that means a reduction in the usual amount I deposit. In the past, I used to deviate quite widely though in terms of deposits. Maybe if gambling was my only past time, I would, but sadly it isn't and there's quite a bit of stuff that I do enjoy as past times I spend money on.
916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? on: July 15, 2023, 12:56:41 AM
I heard of a story about two gamblers that got into a serious fight on the grounds that a bet they merged an amount of money equally to place  using the online account of one person among their two. Luckily for them the bet won. But something happened, when it got to the sharing formula of the total amount won the owner of the account  insisted on taking a lion's share since it was his account that was used in placing the bet. The latter refusing to accept it that way they got into a serious fight. How pathetic!

What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? And would you agree at anytime to double cash with your fellow gambler to place a bet using his account, on the notion of increasing the potential win.
A lot of things, but probably not anything related to gambling. Maybe if he pushed how there's some logic to gambling and just kept pushing that idea without actually you know, arguing. It's kind of hard for me to keep my temper around those kinds of conversations. But other than that, I don't think there's anything at all to fight over when it comes to gambling. It's not like it's PVP, and most of the time that it is, it's more on bluffing (except sports gambling, any fight there can be boiled down to fanboy vs fanboy).

And no, I don't think I'd ever use another account or let another person use my account in the first place. The situation itself was pathetic already imo, it devolving into an argument just made it much more.
917  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: July 13, 2023, 11:16:23 PM
~
While I wouldn't deny that they have similar factors, they aren't exactly the same. Gambling 100% relies on luck, one that was indicated by the machine or program behind the game with no outside influence whatsoever. Simple as that. Trading is a bit more complex, since you create ideas that can support movements and patterns, and since the movement of the price came from humans themselves (or are influenced by it in different ways), patterns are able to appear, unlike patterns in gambling, which gamblers only enforce to explain something unexplainable, in this case, luck.

I guess if we compare how past results happened, Bitcoin charts would probably have an explanation, your gambling history won't (or maybe would, that you should stop since casinos just suck the life out of gamblers most of the time with house edge).
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling on: July 13, 2023, 10:26:45 PM
Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.

Here are some indicators that demonstrate a lack of gambling addiction:
~
These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?
Man, I must say this was rather confusing since it tackles what a gambling addict doesn't have, instead of what they have. And to be fair if we were to simply separate what an addict from a non addict has, it's simple. You don't overspend, you have a plan and you most certainly don't have loans due to gambling. Anything else? It's just a methods of trying to repress or change what you're feeling. Being depressed and turning into gambling isn't bad imo, it's just a way for you to change your mood, just like playing any other game. An excess of it is bad, and that's what makes an addict, well, an addict, simple as that.
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 13, 2023, 09:31:58 PM
This. What people fail to consider is the fact that not only does doping give players an unfair advantage against the competition. It also endangers the player's health in the process especially if it's all about performance enhancing drugs and not the ones that's just gonna bulk you up. In any case this definitely will not receive recognition from any legitimate body of sports just cause the notion was stupid enough. Imagine if people were allowed/encouraged to use cheats in a videogame, doesn't that just drain the fun out of actually watching these players tough it out and prove that they are the best out there?

The same principle could be applied to doping olympics, cause it's basically the same thing only that you do the cheating in real life.
Wouldn't there be a limit to the doping they'd be able to do? At least to the point where it would have no adverse effects. After all without that much of an effort to protect the players, I highly doubt this type of competition would last long. Not that I know of whether there's doping that safe though. If they were all risky at that point they might as well just research on how to build/grow a super human.

And well, on the topic of cheaters, this is a cheaters vs cheaters game which is kind of the highlight. Who's the better cheat kind of thing. Well I do get your point though. It's not just a match thing, results would naturally be compared to normal athletes and well, would just show a big discrepancy.
920  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Twitter Stock Experience the same Rise? on: July 12, 2023, 10:59:20 PM
~
Let's be real, anything new that big companies release that has a semblance of similarity to any famous social media app would become famous at launch. In the long run? I'd say it depends. I mean look at Twitter, Elon made it such a shitshow and yet there are still quite a lot of people that use it. Facebook might have a little bias from me, but it's close to useless imo, but people still use it quite a LOT. Plus, isn't thread less of an insta clone and more like a Twitter clone? I mean if I recall correctly Elon took it as such (I've never used it, and probably never will unless twitter permanently tanks for my commissions).

On Elon releasing a new twitter though, that depends. Meta has been pretty stable in their social media dev, if you temporarily remove their mess of a VR game. Elon on the other hand, sucked at it, at launch even. A lot of people have been hating on the man and there was even an API issue with Twitter a few days (or weeks) ago? I reckon anything new out of this man in the social media industry wouldn't make big money.
