481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Money laundering in crypto casino on: December 03, 2023, 10:05:23 PM
~
I mean, you already answered it. Casinos have AML policies so I highly doubt they'd be attacked by the government for no reason. If ever, it'd be for a different reason but the only thing I can see they can attack from is from the usage of crypto and if they do that, they basically have to ban or deem illegal the usage of crypto itself.

In the first place it's kind of dumb to assume that due to mixers being banned here, in the forum, money laundering groups would immediately jump to crypto casinos. No, it doesn't work that way. It's kind of bold to assume in the first place that said groups converse in here anyway. Mixers being banned from the forum does not mean they're banned from being talked about everywhere, not to mention its usage itself. They can talk via telegram and use some random mixer out there really.

482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should altcoins be blamed? on: December 03, 2023, 12:04:32 PM
~
I don't think there's a need to? I'm pretty sure anyone who does simply doesn't understand how investing works in the first place or is just that bitter about his investment loss a couple of years back. While I would also place blame on altcoins that were intentionally made to scam people, investors who still went ahead without prior research are also to blame themselves. Being scammed is rather different from being ignorant and while the investment trade isn't exactly a place where scams are allowed, we all know how it really goes.

I'd much rather pity someone who got scammed by an emergency call than a person who invested in a shitcoin and started blaming others really. The former doesn't know jack, while the latter may not know it all, they at least know what they entered.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Manifesto on airdrops trivialization on: December 03, 2023, 11:38:38 AM
~
I guess that's just the benefit of early adopters. It's not exactly odd that airdrops (or exchanges that do say airdrops) have to perform/add a lot more in terms of the amount airdropped and possibly whatever more they can add since they're catering to a LOT more of users compared to the past. Yes, this includes bots, but it's up to them really to determine how to filter said out still, the amount would be pretty sizeable.

Considering all that, It's also understandable why good airdrops are rather hard to find nowadays since, well, the projects themselves usually aren't any good. They usually die off after a couple of weeks of trying to stay afloat, and even if there were good ones, they're ruined by the countless number of botters there are, possibly other influences as well but Idrk about those that inevitably lead the project to a ruin. This causes legitimate users who want to support the project to simply fall off. I mean what can a lone man do when a sea of whatever you'd call botters approach him. Nothing.
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Keeping Numbers Or You Allow The Machine To Pick Your Numbers To Bet on: December 03, 2023, 07:15:45 AM
~
.... There's a machine that picks numbers for you? Afaik that's a PCSO lottery ticket but I've never heard of one before granted I haven't bought tickets for like, a long time now. My fam does though and my neighbors, never really said anything about it though. Kinda sounds interesting. Also looked it up and there seem to be quite some big wins already with it. I've done I guess a pseudo kind of this? I randomly grabbed some number generators and used the results. No success though. Might try this out maybe tomorrow or something.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 02, 2023, 07:46:31 AM
~
Nope! It's similar to how you can't exactly consider professional gaming as a "full-time" job. It's more situational e.g. tournament based + some adder sources of revenues/activities such as fan meets, adverts, etc. In gambling cases, you'd mostly be in a tournament-based setting where you'd get your money's worth where even if you lose, there's still some money there from the org that sponsored you plus advertisements and probably some tournament rewards.

In regular old gambling instances? You'd be hardpressed to stably earn a steady amount of upward idk, $100? per week at least and that's a minimum. I imagine you'd need more in countries like the US where cost of living is higher.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: December 02, 2023, 02:03:29 AM
Currently Altcoins are start growing and crypto market condition is pretty good as every where is green. And many of us expected that, bull will come soon and so people already start analysis for which altcoins should buy and could be best investment for bull run. But as we know, market goes a little down when it comes to BTC Halving, which will be happened probably on 24th april, 2024.
So are you going to pick your altcoins Now??  Or During/After BTC Halving while you can buy altcoins with low price?
Why not on both instances? It's rather hard anyway to find the "best" among the periods of when you should invest really, so just invest when you think it'd go up even for a bit. It might also depend on how you're planning to go about this, e.g. short term or totally hodl until that period of pump that the halving "may" bring. If it was the former then yea, decide when of the two, and maybe pick a period where it's down by a substantial amount (instead of being up, since that mostly leads to losses in the short term). If it was the latter then you can just DCA some of the coins you want on both periods, or the entire period till halving really.
487  Economy / Speculation / Re: My analogy towards breaking the silence of Binance and the rumours around crypto on: December 01, 2023, 11:32:17 AM
Jesus christ why are you assuming Binance kicking out CZ is the end of it all or it would have that much of a big of an effect on most investors? It's an exchange, people come and go, and if it disappears? Another one would simply replace it. It's a money-making business, I reckon any of the existing exchanges out there would simply replace it if it ever goes down really. And regardless of Binance baiting people to sell BTC or not, they'd simply get replaced by people who would actually buy it out. Unless Binance has something bigger to influence the market, highly doubt they'd be able to move it like how you said.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Its A Gambling Joke But Reflects Bad Things About Gambling on: November 30, 2023, 10:58:18 PM
~
That was pretty good lmao. Rather than throw trash to the gambler though it's more like playing with the idea that gamblers are, in the end, mostly on the losing side of things. Rare would be the chances where you'd be able to buy a new car due to gambling and rare is an underestimation in my opinion. Well if done in moderation I reckon said joke wouldn't happen to anyone though I guess I'd be glad if most gamblers even knew what moderation was exactly.

I rarely have gambling groups though, much less jokes about gambling so nothing to share though sadly. I did lookup a few online but nothing were that good except for a select few.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBTC I want to explore the possibilities of distributing $1 worth of a 21M token on: November 30, 2023, 09:55:38 PM
I am not planning to Airdrop here; you can claim the Airdrop currently on the website. https://www.solanabitcoin.com/

The purpose of this thread is to get some ideas on how to efficiently Airdrop the token, without using bots basically
Not sure, the closest thing I can think of would be captcha, considering how a lot of websites and services still employ said method to prevent bots. Even IP detection wouldn't work since that's easy to manipulate as well as other methods like email registration and whatnot. You can add additional requirements though, e.g. having a discord channel where you have a bot that verifies if they received something or not but again, this only elongates the process, not necessarily stopping bots from appearing.

There has been quite a few implementations of captcha from matching images, to typing the same letters/words to puzzles so maybe implement that and some additional requirements just to make it harder for bots to enter.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Request to learn gambling on: November 30, 2023, 10:51:31 AM
Well, this is another serious matter, and I had to discourage her.

It's about an old female friend who posted me just about two days ago; her request was for me to teach her how to gamble at any easy casino that she will understand so quickly and make money. Her motive for making this kind of request is because she wants a second source that she can use to earn extra income. I explained what gambling truly is, and I discouraged her from learning how to gamble.

Now, there's a simple question that I want to ask: do you guys think I should introduce her to gambling? If yes, what's the easiest game she can stake in and also enjoy while gambling?
Since when did "income" remove steady from its definition? Jesus christ how old is your friend that she failed to realize that gambling is in no way a source of extra income? Definitely wouldn't introduce her to gambling. Her mindset is already making me raise red flags after all so it'd honestly be better to not add more red flags.

If you really must, just don't. Kidding aside if she actually realizes it then check if she likes any sports. That should get the ball rolling rather easily. If not, then poker and blackjack are your staples, then next would be the simple ones like dice/crash. The other types are basically almost the same, only minor changes but same idea of luck being behind it all.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: November 29, 2023, 10:58:17 PM
~
I've seen it before but I rarely try it since I usually don't gamble monthly, lately anyway. It's more like I gamble whenever I feel like it and in most cases, it's around every 2 maybe 3 months. Ofc the amount never goes past a set amount but it's usually more than 1% (or in this case, 2-3%) of my income since it'd be way too low. I usually separate my funds into bills, emergencies, funding, and enjoyment. It usually depends but it's not that odd for me to spend said funds for enjoyment solely for gambling sometimes. I usually play only a couple of games anyway though it might be different during tournament seasons of some of th eSports I watch. Now those I actively bet in.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think that this is aperfect analogy of how gambling addiction starts? on: November 29, 2023, 10:02:25 PM
~
Louder! I swear the amount of bias people get from people sharing big wins, not to mention their own possible wins, is insane to the point that they'd argue that it's worth the money, time, and effort to continue doing so FOR money. I've always advocated that if you gamble, make sure it's for fun since it never is fun if you only lose money after all. As I've also shared before, people only share wins because they're rare but never losses because it's the usual occurrence for a gambler, so they never really notice said losses.

Well people can still gamble regardless of whatever their goal is. Just don't expect it to return anything to you. It's a game, the most you'd usually expect is thrill and enjoyment. The wins? Just take those in as bonuses.
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: November 29, 2023, 11:01:50 AM
Same thing I've said always, it's not impossible to hit chances like this, just that it's incredibly difficult to do so. It'd probably be at the top 1% of bets really or something before you can hit and try to set it as an active goal? That's just a road to endlessly spending money imo. Just the odds to hit said wins should be mind-numbingly low, imagine the number of tries he had to do before hitting plus the amount of research he has to do with the matches as well.

You don't exactly see how people lose their money, or how much it amounts to in total no? Because that's normal. That's the everyday life of a gambler. Now wins like this? Those are rare, hence why you see people sharing it.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: November 28, 2023, 11:03:59 PM
~
Well luck in itself is a rather abstract thing, so saying it's for the "lucky" kind of offsets literally the argument due to its nature, so in essence, yea, gambling is for the rich but only in general, not really a specific kind of thing. It's simply because the rich has more avenues open even if they gamble. They pretty much offset the costs via the riches built up by generations of wealth that they and their ancestors had.

Your average joe on the other hand? They offset the costs by giving up on stuff, like buying their own house, having proper food, taking medical checkups etc. There's a middle ground where there's a balance though, but they still give up on something imo, just a bit lighter in terms of its impact on their life I suppose.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: November 28, 2023, 10:26:54 PM
~
Dumbest thing you could do. Spend all the money you have in your bank and you'd only really affect yourself, spend money you took from loans and now only do you affect yourself now, you also affect the you of the future. God knows how many times you'd possibly do this really since it happened once, it can happen twice, thrice, and many more times. People who are under debt can be rather weak to temptation since their mindset is "I'm already down, how much lower can I go" kind of thing.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not this guy on: November 28, 2023, 12:06:44 PM
~
I don't think it's anything weird, it more like it's probably the first time you've met someone as crazy as him really. I myself have only heard rumors of addicts, not so much as be a personal acquaintance of one though so I can't judge for how it feels but I definitely know how something feels sluggishly weird when you meet something... out of the norm. Especially in a case like yours where if you were to draw a line between becoming addicted to the end of whatever addiction is, they'd be close, if not at the end of said line.

Plus him knowing the pit he's in and yet continuing? That just gives massive weird vibes.
497  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who should own a demo account? on: November 27, 2023, 11:04:32 PM
Wouldn't expert traders have their own methods and whatnot that they can use to test whatever strategy they're planning to use? Demo accounts are in the end mostly suitable for new people in the scene, to familiarize them with what trading is in the first place as well as the site's usage of functionalities and what not (basically what button X does etc.). Not that I can confirm they have something they use, not a part of them but I reckon they should have a variety of tools they can use to simulate and whatnot.
498  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: November 27, 2023, 10:45:34 PM
There are people who have learnt how to trade, practiced on demo accounts for long but have not had the money to try trading on the market, and so they have abandoned trading to try search for money first. While there are others who have too little income, that they cannot profit from the market trading, they are always worried about loosing and because of that they make mistakes with their technical analysis and end up loosing the little money they have. Should trading be exclusive to financially comfortable and rich because of how risky it is?
Not technically only the rich, you just have to have capital for it. And well, the amount of capital is pretty subjective depending on what your goal is so it's pretty flexible, granted profits grow/reduce depending on said capital though. As for losing money well, it all comes down to the scale of how much you want to grow the capital. The more risks you take, the greater the growth, but the greater the risk and vice versa.

As for the worry of losing your capital, that always exists in any venture whether it be investments, businesses, and whatnot. It's always there and hence why it's called capital. It's supposed to be spent for "something" so always consider it money lost really and don't expect to use it for something else.
499  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: November 27, 2023, 11:09:50 AM
The current Bitcoin fees wouldn't have mattered to me because I am not selling, but the fees do matter because I DCA, and I don't want to leave my coins in the centralized exchange. This month, I have spent roughly $5 to $10 in transaction fees when I DCA every week. It may seem small, but in my country, it's enough to cover my feeding expenses for a month cumulatively.

I discussed this issue with my friend, and he suggested I use an exchange that utilizes the Lightning Network. According to him, this would help me get off with no fees any day. While I'm considering this alternative, another option is to wait for a month or two, then use the amount we kept for weekly DCA, hold it for a month or two, and lump sum. This way, i would incur just a one time fee. What are your thoughts on this? I feel like I may use the money kept for DCA for other expenses.
I'd say it depends on how much you DCA? I mean it might break the pattern but really, investing idk $40-$50 per week with $10 fees does not seem worth it since that's 1/4 of your total investment already. Maybe set a maximum in terms of fees so that you can guarantee it, and if it goes past that, just hold the money or something temporarily. If you can't hold it then actively look out for hours where the Mempool isn't as congested to get cheaper fees.

LN sounds good if you want to though. There are a lot of guides out there and there are also ones in the forum made by others as well. If you really don't want to break the pattern then I'd suggest go for that, but if you can handle breaking the pattern then it's up to your preference by then.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to contribute to dao with earning? on: November 27, 2023, 10:08:54 AM
~
I'd say that's the same for any type of project you're trying to enter as a newbie. Just keep learning and keep applying to projects. Maybe even ask for those who rejected you why you got rejected if possible and probably educate yourself to the ideas and skillsets that you're trying to contribute to the project since there can be various things you can apply for. The easiest would be as others have said, moderators since there's not much qualification needed really other than being able to spend time. If you want experience then try to look for big servers in Discord of your hobbies and apply as a moderator to get a hang of how things work as one.
