941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Virtual bug? on: July 05, 2023, 10:07:40 PM
I work for a casino house a couple of years ago - I could make a serial reference since it's been said in most of my post here.
Alright,?? Cashiers were assigned to manage the activities and book on desired games for all validated customers, but i normally noticed something very displeasing - sometimes, I felt bad for any gambler that lost in that same way and It looked to me like a kinda "money heist" program.
Here is it; A gambler could bet on correct scores - mind you, this all happens only in Virtual games - let's say, 3-0 and, since the games are being displayed on screens for them to confirm Thier winnings, it could even happen that the game stops at the 82nd minute, maybe with a 2-0 score, but once it rules out and updates the scores on the score sheets,.what we all see is 2-5...
Now the question is, how can 5 goals from the away teams be scored in barely a time to blink?? Could that have supposed to mean something different? Maybe a bug? Or is it some sort of misprogramming?

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
Isn't that most likely a bug? I mean if the screen suddenly stops and within less than a minute, the score suddenly jumps up to 2-5, unless this was a pre-recorded scene and somehow some of the footage was corrupted, then it's impossible for a team, no matter how "virtual" it is, to score 5 goals in that instant. That is unless there's again, another mechanism that virtual games use to speed up the time it takes, skipping most of the passing and whatnot and only showing the goals. Or, the screen itself was bugged. Have you tried confirming if other users experienced the same thing/other providers?

I haven't really tried virtual sports though so I'm not sure.
942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discussion - Being an Active Poster in the Gambling Board on: July 05, 2023, 09:35:39 PM
  • Has being an active participant in the gambling section helped you develop more effective strategies for winning bets?
Err kind of? I mean it has steadily made me develop the idea of how I should be managing my bankroll, identifying the mentality I have when I bet and well, just standard enjoyment of reading through discussions of tournaments as well. I was kind of a rough gambler way back after all, with no rhyme or reason.
  • Has it aided you in overcoming gambling addiction (if you were addicted) or developing healthier gambling habits?
Definitely. Just looking at some of the stories told here made me realize some ideas on how I should properly approach gambling after all. Plus a lot of people also tell about their styles and strategies of how to gamble, and with me realizing early on to only gamble for fun, made me develop habits rather helpful in the long run.

  • Have you noticed an overall improvement in your gambling experiences?
Well, I'm still losing, not really sure if that's an improvement. Overall though not that much. I do get bored, and hence why I switched to sports, but overall not much. Same old same old really.
943  Economy / Gambling / Re: What other gambling sites offers free bitcoins like freebitco on: July 05, 2023, 12:09:16 AM
I don't think there's any other casino out there that offers a Bitcoin faucet. Faucets do still exist though,  you can find a bunch from the links sent by others and probably look up some yourself, but a faucet inside a casino that gives Bitcoin? Kind of unique afaik to freebitco.

There might be some casinos that give out coins, just not Bitcoin though  and they're technically not faucets, more like bonuses instead really.
944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 04, 2023, 09:55:40 PM
Boys. It is time to quit gamble. I created a topic about taking gambling as a major income or not and fought a lot of kind people who held an opposite point. I own them a truly apology. I am sorry. No matter who you are, gambling is only for fun. Never take it as income at anytime. If you are still gambling, you should quit now. If you cannot quit by yourself, there are so many channels to help you. Even you can talk to me. I will do my best to help you.

Just some chemical reaction happened in my mind today, I get the point at that moment. Gambling for income is totally wrong and toxic for spirit and body. You will never be successful in that way. But I like gamble is still the fact and it will never change if doing nothing. So, why not open a stream and show it to all people who have interest on that. Let me prove how hard or easy to quit gamble. I will only gamble the affordable fund only. Maybe less. I am streaming 24/7. If some software problems disrupt, I will fix that except sleeping time.
Congrats! I don't really think you need to quit gambling completely, just take it as a hobby, one that you regularly spend an amount that's completely manageable for you. There are also some people who can't really bear to quit, this doesn't mean that they're addicted imo, simply because they've stuck to it for quite a long time now (there are a lot of people who can gamble responsibly after all). It's the idea that gambling to earn money is wrong anyway, if you do earn money then nice, take it as a side goal, not the main one.

Boys. You can't imagine how relax I am when decide to quit gamble. Here is the way. I will stream all my gambling behavior with recording. No stream No gamble. If you are going through the same situation, join me. You will obtain a new life.
Congratulations!(again) I'd avoid not gambling though, especially sports gambling. It's one of the few enjoyments I have in life, I grew up with the eSports scene after all.
945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling scenario that keeps repeating on you on: July 04, 2023, 09:40:11 PM
~
Whenever I gamble, I always lose. Is that a pattern I wonder Undecided ? Kidding aside, I don't really think I've noticed one. It might just be your mind playing you really? That you remember those points in general when instead, you actually lose a lot more in other scenarios than you'd think. Luck is generally random after all, and while a pattern isn't all that impossible to happen, it isn't exactly something you'd use as a reference since there are other instances where it could just skew itself to the other side all of a sudden.

Most of my sessions haven't really been stuck in a gutter, even if sometimes my goal was to reach x amount (not that I reach it most of the time tbf). I just take it as par for the course.
946  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com Disabled Account After $250K WIN on: July 04, 2023, 12:19:52 AM
That was one long ass back and forth,  sadly the article did not include anything of the evidence itself, only the conversations. Heck, we ain't even sure if the conversation given is what exactly happened since it wasn't a screenshot or anything but eh, I'd like the proof stated in the conversation more than the conversation itself.

Stakes investigation isn't anything weird, it is a sudden win after an onset of losses so they'd probably check that out, regardless of how gambling really works, just that as I said, there's lacking of proof actually involved in the case. Even the timestamps for the conversation isn't included. Op might want to share some more to prove this.
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: DISCUSSION-How hard is it to beat a sportsbook? on: July 03, 2023, 10:05:30 PM
~
Ehhh it's mostly because it's much more developed now compared to the past. There were some, if I were to describe it, loopholes that people were able to take advantage of before so they were able to profit substantially enough, to the point where "beating" the sportsbook can be a thing. That's just how things goes imo. Ofc this doesn't include scam casinos who can easily use Curacao licenses (I've seen them before) or just generally sites that don't provide anything good compared to existing reputable ones, they're just sites that exist thinking profit exists in hosting sports bets.

Same with the KYC issue. It's an issue of the past since it was untouched, but with how bookmakers operate nowadays and how laws were made around it, it's natural to feel that it's restraining a LOT of people, and that's their goal imo. So that they are in actual control of what's happening, or whatever it is that's happening, they know the limits of it. It's how they keep their business in the long term afloat imo. Tbf no one would like they're business to suddenly go under because of a no-limit bet their user made.
948  Economy / Speculation / Re: Less than 300 days left to halving - price predictions for The Day? on: July 03, 2023, 09:28:14 PM
$40k ish maybe if I'm optimistic, $35k at most if not. The price (based on the past) dramatically increases half a year to a year after the halving so those levels should be rather reasonable imo. We might still see higher prices later this year though, but a pullback to $40k at least should probably be expected if it actually does. If not, well, we'd have a pretty long stable market for at least half a year to a year. After that would be the dramatic increase I was talking about earlier, might be at least $60k.

949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 03, 2023, 05:18:16 AM
Yes, you read that accurately.

If I buy several lottery tickets and then leave my account dormant for a long time, say at least 6 months, and my ticket wins the jackpot during that time.
Will anything happen to my prize money? Will the casino refund my money because I never claimed any of the rewards?

It's just a thought I've had for a while and decided to ask here in the community.

I'd say it's rine but who's to say that a casino wouldn't be such an ass that they'd cancel your win because of an inactive account? Even if it was directly rendered to your accounts wallet, as long as it's sneakily hidden in their ToS that they can, they will do so. It's pretty much free money to them anyway since they technically "announced" it as a prize somebody won.

As for physical lotteries, they usually have a limit afaik? They're much more public about it though, since technically someone not claiming the prize just resumes the lottery again just lik when nobody was actually called a winner.
950  Economy / Gambling / Re: won cash x drop but no prize?? on: July 03, 2023, 12:02:55 AM
Errr you doing nothing actually depends? They might ask for some sort of KYC again (I know, it sucks, but hey, casinos like to loop users into submitting stuff over and over after all) or something. How long has it been anyway? Maybe give it a week or something?

If it was BC though, which you've already posted about before, then I think again, you can only wait seeing as a lot of people have already said that BC team is most likely out or down. It doesn't look that promising with them being out of contact for weeks now though.
951  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not limits your investment... on: July 02, 2023, 09:47:32 PM
I saw something on a friend of mine iPhone I was amazed, this guy has 3 pieces of bitcoin but he didn't look it when you look at him with mere eyes, I ask him how he has come this far, he told long ego he was seriously investing on all kinds of coins with little amount of bitcoin but then most of those coins help him to realized enough amount to buy more bitcoin because that was his primary target. He normally buys those zero value coins when they appreciates it will be enough money, and that's how he convert and swag all to bitcoin and today, he has 3 piece. Is good to be diversified in your investment, somedays something good will come out of one you don't expect.
Annndd that my friends are something you'd call a gamble. Well if you have enough money it's bound to work really, but considering the profit/loss ratio, if you were rather unlucky you'd probably end up negative for a really long while, maybe even only break even at your peak. Well if he purposely bought zero-value coins that actually have a good purpose, whitepaper, team and stuff like that, then maybe he's just a good researcher.

And well the purpose of diversification is so that you don't get fucked in situations where your coin crashes. Going all in on Bitcoin at it's peak and then it suddenly crashes down, your entire portfolio also comes crashing down right? Unlike in cases where you buy Bitcoin, and other good and reputable coins, then you'd only crash one part (majority of it, but still one part). Well this depends on case-by-case, especially if you consider it from the future instead, e.g. right now where the ATH was in the past, investing all of Bitcoin when it was ATH seems kind of a dumb move, but investing it all before it reached ATH would seem like a great move no?
952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 02, 2023, 04:45:04 AM
I don't think I have a pattern, I just play whatever whenever I want really. I also removed my usual style of doing a monthly schedule, so I play whenever I want to play. I still set a certain amount I can use every month that I don't exceed so that I don't overspend, but other than that, I don't try to set anything. It just takes away the fun most of the time, was rather stressed as well when I  did it on schedule as well.

Sports bets depend on the tourney, sometimes I like to bet on some, and sometimes I don't. Bankroll management is, as I said, a set amount per month. I don't exceed that and whatever I win I also use. If there's still leftover, I subtract that from my usual amount and then deposit what's lacking. I don't manage how I spend it on the casino, I just spend it whenever I want to.
953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 02, 2023, 12:19:02 AM
Yes and yes. Sadly, afaik, it can easily be bypassed. Some people can still bypass that KYC problem by borrowing an identity, say they're parents (there are a lot of crazy parents out there, trust me) and they'd end up allowing it. Naturally, they can use the KYC documents for defense and in those cases, it's probably the parents who's gonna get the brunt of the issue. And if they somehow manage to actually play without their parent's help, they'd probably still be protected due to underage laws? Not sure but afaik that helps them get away with a lot of stuff.

Granted that you can actually learn how to gamble outside of casinos. And that's usually the start of something developing, which should be fixed if we really want to solve the problem of addiction. Though I guess this simply applies to anything really, like phone addiction by most kids.
954  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad impact when You carry out Online or Offline Loans on an ongoing basis on: July 01, 2023, 05:15:10 AM
maybe many people are taking loans online or offline for various urgent reasons, but keep in mind that the habit of making loans will only get you entangled with what is called eternal debt and the possibility of getting addicted to making loans online or offline
Loans in general are always something you should avoid if possible really. Anything that matters after that is simply because of your inability to pay it. Now I know it is pitiful in some scenarios, but that's just how it is. If there was a group that would support those in debt then great, if not then they can only try to accommodate for their debt by doing everything they can. In the first place, a debt is something you take if you know you can pay for it, if you can't then you 100% need to find an alternative, one where you can pay it off comfortably either by giving your service or something.

While we can't exactly avoid loans sometimes, we can take measures to avoid burdening ourselves with it. It may be hard, but really, look at the bigger picture. You're mostly arguing with humans in the end, I reckon you can buy time to look at what you really need to look at most of the time.
955  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do when you have Financial Freedom? on: June 30, 2023, 10:52:53 PM
I'd probably study again. Not the school kind of study, I'd probably like to intern in some major game dev companies or illustration companies out there, either of the two works since I'm working on developing myself towards those two goals. It's also a kind of vacation I guess? An out-of-country experience would definitely be one of the things I'd want for a vacation after all, so two birds with one stone. I'm relatively content with a passive income that's enough to support me and my family so I don't think I'd have goals to increase that. An increase in savings would probably be due to left over money from my salary or sidegigs really.
956  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: June 30, 2023, 04:27:31 AM
You can avoid/reduce your taxes afaik legally, but if we assume that it's not for that purpose, but simply because we question where the taxes go in the first place, then we simply won't have an answer because the premise is simply unknown. I mean yea, we know how much we get taxed, but we don't know where exactly it goes, or the transparency rather isn't enough.

I wouldnt exactly say avoiding tax itself is wrong. It would just mean that you don't think the state doesnt do due diligence with what they do with it. At the same time though, a state could simply kick you out if you don't want to pay taxes, or avoid them legally. That's just how it is when it comes to power.
957  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loophole in stopping Money Laundering through Wagering on: June 30, 2023, 12:17:41 AM
As we know that most gambling sites will require you to gamble and wager your whole balance once, before you can cash out or withdraw from the gambling site and they take this measure so people do not do money laundering whereby deposit and withdraw without gambling.

Now the point here is that on the gambling site, there are many easy winning bets with odds like 1.01x etc. If the money lauder is sensible he can easily be wagering the whole amount by placing a few bets where the odds are very low and the winning chances are 99%.

So does this mean that there is a loophole here and the money launderers can easily by pass this wagering requirement?
I wouldn't say it's a loophole, just that from the way casinos try to guard against money laundering, what you said was the bare minimum to apply to it, which always exists in any type of restriction in general imo. Fact remains that the money was gambled after all. Plus, casinos keep a log of records of whoever does those kinds of stuff so who knows, they may just jave an internal monitoring that tracks those specific accounts that does those types of bets after depositing.

Plus, if they were to be somehow really unlucky and land on that 1%, free money for the casino.
958  Economy / Economics / Re: After Making Money In Bitcoin, How is Black Tax Affecting You Economically? on: June 29, 2023, 09:50:44 PM
I really wanna be better, I wanna learn how to deal with the issue of black tax, I wanna learn from your own experiences, stories, contributions or perhaps, your suggestions, so please feel free to contribute to this discussion.
I'm not the breadwinner of my family so I don't really shoulder everything (luckily enough), my older sis did though in the past and well, it was rather tough though, especially in the pandemic and all. Right now though the money I gain from sig campaigns is used for bills, plenty enough as well so I don't have much of a problem with it and I have enough as well from my salary that I can comfortably take for other expenses as well as adding on to my DCA schedule.

Imo it's not really the issue with black tax, it's the issue of not trying to converse with your parents. While I don't know the general idea of your expenses, seeing as you're not really having a good time saving I reckon it's taking a really big chunk of your gains monthly, talk it out. That, or if you don't really want to talk, then increase your monthly income whether it be finding a better job, or investing more heavily (which is quite risky as well).
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's find out which gambling game is the most played among our community... on: June 29, 2023, 04:44:55 AM
Man kinda unfortunate I could only pick two. I also really like playing poker and roulette, but sports betting and blackjack has always been my top two so I went with those. Crash was also a top fave of mine but blackjack was my og so just went with it.

Not surprised with sports betting being the top pick tbf, we have a lot of megathreads for various sports events after all. Might be nice to also make a new one for specific sports(if it doesnt exist, it probably does but either I've never seen it or I forgot about it already).
960  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin pumping when the economy is heading into a recession? on: June 29, 2023, 04:21:30 AM
Soo are we just going to forget the dump that Bitcoin had to 18k-ish a few months back? I hardly doubt there was a big influence here imo other than simple supply and demand. We wouldn't exactly see Bitcoin plummeting to the ground due to investors losing confidence in it, a lot of people still trust it (the dip to 18k was simply due to the ath bubble popping imo).

And even if we do consider recession, Bitcoin has been likened to assets like Gold that can avoid depreciation of fiat. It's been pretty stable as of lately as well with no big dumps (or pumps, sadly)
