We are in Azerbaijan this week and I'd like to share a really interesting statistics by Leclerc here.  Wink

5 poles in the last 5 races on this track... One of them is sprint shootout in 2023 by the way. Really impressive, right? But 0 wins for Leclerc in all these races.

However I think he's still likely to go for a pole again. I doubt his win again on the other hand.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2025/26 on: September 13, 2025, 10:33:55 PM

This match between athletico and Villarreal was really am interesting one, and am surprise that no one is really talking about this match between athletico and Villarreal right now, and if I can remember vividly this match was among the heat talk on this thread few days back before today, where a lot of people was projecting Villarreal to win the match due to their performance, but things went the other way round, athletico secure their first triumph of the 2025/2026 LA Liga season with a 2:0 win over Villarreal. Although Villarreal is still in a good position in the LA LIga table fourth place quite impressing, while athletico is in nineth place in the LA LIga table.

I'm surprised to see Atletico Madrid winning this match truthfully.  Tongue  You know how terrible they started the La Liga. It's like things are going even worse for them in time...

I know they were desperate for an immediate win. But Villarreal were like one of the hardest competitors to face. However Simeone found a way out this time. A good way to improve the general morale among the players maybe.

Will it be sustainable though? I've big doubts for now...

This might be another way Madrid wants to take this player away from Liverpool, they did almost same thing with Alexander Arnold and now Konaté. The CB has rejected another bid from Liverpool and they are still starting him in their squad, I wonder🤔...it seems like Liverpool are going to miss this player should incase Madrid get his signature.

He has already been rumoured with Real Madrid for a while. I thought this must be why he was underperforming.  Tongue

Does Real Madrid really need another centre-back? I think after the Huijsen transfer they are in good condition. Currently they have 5 centre-backs. However here is the thing...

Real Madrid will be able to sign him for free in January. So it sounds nice to bring him and get rid of Alaba.

I guess this is Verstappen's 5th pole position of the season. 5 poles in 16 race weeks with this car is still a good work of course. He doesn't have much pace during race but still can be competitive in qualifying from time to time.  Wink

Tomorrow I only expect a McLaren driver to win. Who's it going to be? Norris had better win as the gap is 34 points now. But I still see Piastri more reliable although Norris is starting the race ahead of him.

The match between Chelsea and Fulham has been already started. This is actually going to be an easy opportunity for Chelsea to add to their points, as they are slightly behind after drawing two of their three matches. I have compared recent head to head matches and overall head to head matches, and I have found that Chelsea is the best in this match. I hope they don't miss this easy opportunity.

10 minutes into the match, both teams are playing aggressively against each other, with the ball position almost equal for both teams.

Palmer is injured and not even among the substitutes today. But you should remember how they played against West Ham anyway. They didn't have problems on scoring 5 goals.

However the thing is that West Ham have huge defensive vulnerabilities... It's not the same for Fulham. This is the kind of a match Chelsea would make use of a talent like Palmer.

But he has also been quite inconsistent for a long while. You know he was like a ghost in the Crystal Palace match also.  Sad

Finally it's race week. For now weather forecasts shows rain on all 3 days. Probably again we will remember that if you'll ever feel useless, remember about full wet tyres in F1.

The weather in Zandvoort is shown like this on BBC.

The race day looks clear for now if their report is reliable.  Smiley  Some rain would make it more interesting in fact. Even under rain McLaren stays dominant of course.

But at least we would watch more action. The cars won't have any upgrades. I hope it doesn't become a boring race.

This time Benfica are favoured against Fenerbahçe quite a lot.

The odds:

• Benfica: 1.61
• Draw: 4.00
• Fenerbahçe: 5.20

Benfica played 6 official matches so far and there is an interesting stats. They scored 9 goals and conceded 0. This is also strengthening the probability of their qualifying for league phase.

In the first leg they just focused on not conceding. They didn't play much attacking. Now things will change about it without doubt.

These are just easy matches for Galatasaray you know... They have a huge gap with nearly all of the teams. They are racing Fenerbahçe in team value currently.

But as for league success, Okan Buruk's team is far ahead in the recent years. For this season also they are the biggest title contender.

My only criticism on them is related to the CL. I don't think their squad is still good enough for there.  Tongue

There's a new twist in Newcastle's Isak's potential transfer saga.
Previously Liverpool have made an offer (of £110m + add-ons) but it was not good enough and got rejected. Liverpool was rumoured to come back with a better one, but that didn't happen so far. Meanwhile, Newcastle are saying that they are not really interested in selling their top striker to their league rivals and say he will not be sold at all this summer.
Allegedly now Barcelona have entered the picture and express their interest in acquiring Isak during the next summer window, as a replacement for Lewandowski.
I don't think Isak is too happy with staying in Newcastle for another year.

More on the story:
https://www.teamtalk.com/news/alexander-isak-transfer-barcelona-timeline-key-advantage-liverpool-newcastle

Isak has already burned the bridges... He didn't start in the first match week and it looks like this will continue the same way on the upcoming weeks also. As far as I remember he was talking about promises being unkept on his social media.  Sad

Liverpool was so serious about signing him. Are they giving up already? I don't know if the picture will change in case Barcelona enters the race. Isak has already been wishing to sign for Liverpool for a long time. But if they don't make the same offer then things can change.

1   Marc Marquez Ducati Lenovo Team (GP25)   418.00
2   Alex Marquez BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP (GP24)   276.00
3   Francesco Bagnaia Ducati Lenovo Team (GP25)   221.00

Marquez brothers are dominating the season then.  Grin  Maybe they aren't in the same team but Alex Marquez is also doing a great work for BK8 Gresini Racing.

Quote
Fan fact we are missing a lot of races and do you wanna know the all time record?
It is 420, so he is only 2 points away

Trick fact, now it is easier to make points due the sprint races.

Wow then a quite solid improvement is on the way! Marc Marquez is such a special rider truthfully. Just give him a competitive bike and watch what he does...

I wonder how many more titles he'll add to his collection. He is 32 now. His most successful years were at Repsol Honda despite his horrible last 3 years there.

I also don't understand the greed by Manchester City... They've already signed James Trafford for 30m euros. They have a backup goalkeeper who is Ortega also.

Then why are they going for Donnarumma too?  Huh  I don't think Trafford would be happy about giving his starting eleven place to him.

I'd rather see Manchester United going for the Italian goalkeeper as they need the most now.
