Trump Slashes Nat'l Debt by $12 Billion In First Month, Media Silent The Trump administration managed to decrease total US public debt by $12 billion in a month, while former President Obama increased it by $200 billion over that same period.

Despite the numerous controversies during his first month in office, President Trump successfully decreased the US total public debt by $12 billion within his first 30 days as president. Yet, as Trump pointed out in a series of tweets, few media outlets covered the significant debt decrease though they were more than happy to pounce on other recent stories casting the new president in a negative light.
The Trump administration managed to decrease total US public debt by $12 billion in a month, while former President Obama increased it by $200 billion over that same period.
Though some may take such statements from Trump as self-serving and not factually sound, the US Treasury Department has confirmed Trump's claims. According to data released by the Treasury, the overall national debt on the day of Trump's inauguration stood at $19.95 trillion and dropped to $19.93 trillion on February 21st. Then, between February 22nd and 23rd, the debt dropped even lower to $19.91 trillion.
Not only that, but Trump's assertion that former President Barack Obama increased the national debt by $200 billion within his first month in office was also proven to be accurate by official government statistics. In Obama's first month in office, the US national debt began at $10.62 trillion and jumped to $10.84. Over Obama's presidency, the national debt soared by 86%, hitting a record high at $19.6 trillion.
Yet, the mainstream media's ignorance of the national debt crisis is nothing new. The national debt has been and is so out of control that it threatens to bring down the entire national economy and completely obliterate the US dollar as a currency of value. Essentially, the Federal Reserve – through years of currency manipulation intended to enrich the wealthiest Americans at the expense of the rest – is forced to keep interest rates at near-zero, lest it unleash the true weight of the national debt upon the American public.

Environmental Protection Agency To Officially Terminate On Dec. 31, 2018 In the handful of weeks that Donald Trump has been President of the United States, a lot has happened. H.R. 861, which was introduced by House Republicans on Feb. 3, only contains one sentence: "The Environmental Protection Agency shall terminate on December 31, 2018." As Daily KOS reports, the bill which was introduced by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) and cosponsored by Reps. Steven Palazzo (R-Mississippi), Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky), and Barry Loudermilk (R-Georgia) is presently awaiting action in the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee.
No information has been shared detailing what will happen to the bounty of knowledge and researched produced by the EPA over the last decades. Additionally, nothing is said about what will happen to the Clean Air Act, or the Clean Water Act, or even the Endangered Species Act. Considering Donald Trump and many of his cabinet picks believe climate change is a "hoax" invented by the Chinese, environmentalists aren't optimistic about might occur. Finally, the single statement in the legislation fails to mention what will happen to the EPA's $8 million budget or the 15,000+ workers who are employed by the agency. Massive Child Sex Ring Busted in CA -- 474 Arrested, 28 Children Saved In a massive statewide operation targeting human traffickers, hundreds of people were arrested and dozens of sexually-exploited children were saved.
The bust was part of a statewide operation to combat human trafficking, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday.
According to KTLA, more than 30 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and task forces, as well as the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, participated in the third annual "Operation Reclaim and Rebuild" enforcement operation, according to a sheriff's news release.
The operation resulted in 474 arrests including 142 males on solicitation charges, and 36 males for pimping.
It is important to note that some of these arrests included people trying to simply pay another willing adult to have sex with them.
In the Land of the Free, it is against the law to get paid to have sex, unless that sex is filmed, distributed on DVD, and taxed. One of the least talked about systems of oppression in the US is that of persecuting prostitutes.
When referencing prostitution, it is critical to point out that we are talking about the mutually beneficial exchange of sexual favors for money by two or more consenting adults; not forced human trafficking.
That being said, however, during the operation, officers rescued 28 children who were being sexually exploited and offered services to 27 adults they said were victims of sex trafficking. These victims were not part of a voluntary process and instead were bought and sold as commodities to sick individuals without their consent.
As corporate media writes off talk of 'pizzagate' as if it's some tinfoil conspiracy theory that couldn't possibly happen, this scenario shatters their claims. In fact, Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell says the arrests represent a "very sad commentary on the condition we're dealing with."
"Pretending this issue doesn't exist only makes us more complicit in it," newly elected San Diego City Attorney Mara Elliott said.
While it is currently unknown if any of these charges involve high-level government officials or law enforcement, the fact that it existed should not be ignored. Throughout the first and second weeks of December, since the mainstream media first reported that Edgar Maddison Welch, of Salisbury, N.C., fired a shot inside the Comet Ping Pong Pizzeria in Washington, DC, the mainstream media has been declaring the so-called child-sex "Pizzagate" child-sex ring, a false conspiracy theory based on lies.
Welch was reportedly searching for child-sex slaves inside Comet Ping Pong based on stories he'd read online involving pedophilia and the Washington elite. Ironically, and without any real investigative, Chris Hanson style journalism being conducted, the mainstream media and its pundits have declared all the claims found in the conspiracy theory to be false, lies constructed by "fake news."

Scientists Researching 'Psychological Vaccine' To Protect Against 'Fake News' In a well-timed paper from three universities in England and the U.S., researchers lay out a strategy for "inoculating" the public against the fake news and alternative facts that have been rampant in recent history. They dub the method "psychological vaccination," since it's conceptually similar to medical vaccinations: You insert a little bit of the material you want to inoculate against (normally, a piece of virus; here, a word of warning about fake facts), and the person becomes more resilient when confronted with it in the future. The idea is that those who are in the business of relaying actual facts may want to implement the strategy to prevent against the spread of "alternative facts."
To test the theory, the researchers first presented participants with accurate or inaccurate facts about a subject known to be susceptible to misinformation: Climate change. Some participants were presented with a pie chart illustrating a scientifically sound fact: "97% of scientists agree on man-made climate change." Another group was presented with a website, the Oregon Global Warming Petition Project, which displays a (fake) petition attesting that "human-caused global warming hypothesis is without scientific validity," and which more than 31,000 American scientists appear to have signed. US exit from United Nations could become reality with fresh bill A Republican-proposed House Resolution has quietly slipped past the public radar – proposing that the United States withdraw its membership from the United Nations, just as another bill was being concocted to cut US funding to the body.
The bill, proposed by Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL), entitled American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2017, seeks a complete US withdrawal from the UN, that the international body remove its headquarters from New York and that all participation be ceased with the World Health Organization as well.
Rogers and other prominent Republicans have repeatedly voiced the idea that US taxpayer money should not go to an organization that does not promote US interests – especially one that does not stick up for Israel together with the US. The new document is merely the latest manifestation of sentiment that has been brewing for some time.
The bill was quietly introduced on January 3 and was passed on to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. If approved, the bill would take two years to take effect. It would also repeal the United Nations Participation Act of 1945, signed in the aftermath of WWII.
"The President shall terminate all membership by the United States in the United Nations in any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations…The United States Mission to the United Nations is closed. Any remaining functions of such office shall not be carried out,"according to the text of HR 193.
The bill would also prohibit "the authorization of funds for the US assessed or voluntary contribution to the UN," which would also include any military or peacekeeping expenditures, the use of the US military by the UN, and the loss of "diplomatic immunity for UN officers or employees" on US soil.
Rogers had tried to pass the same bill in 2015, albeit unsuccessfully.
"Why should the American taxpayer bankroll an international organization that works against America's interests around the world?" Rogers asked at the time in defense of his idea.
"The time is now to restore and protect American sovereignty and get out of the United Nations."
Another supporter of HR 193, Rend Paul (R-KY) also put it like this in January 2015: "I dislike paying for something that two-bit Third World countries with no freedom attack us and complain about the United States… There's a lot of reasons why I don't like the UN, and I think I'd be happy to dissolve it," added the Kentucky senator.
Later, in June 2015, Rogers had introduced his document – then named HR 1205, but essentially the same USExit idea he's proposing now.
"The UN continues to prove it's an inefficient bureaucracy and a complete waste of American tax dollars." Rogers went on to name treaties and actions he believes "attack our rights as US citizens." These included gun provisions, the imposition of international regulations on American fossil fuels – but more importantly, the UN attack on Israel, by voting to grant Palestine the non-member state 'permanent observer' status.
"Anyone who is not a friend to our ally Israel is not a friend to the United States."
That same logic was used this January when House Republicans prepared a legislation that would decrease – even potentially eliminate – US funding to the UN. According to calculations by the conservative Heritage Foundation, the US provides over 22 percent of all UN funding.
The bill to cut the funding was introduced shortly after the UNSC voted 14-0 to condemn the continued construction of illegal Israeli settlements – the resolution Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu considered a backstab from the US, which declined to veto it, as per former President Barack Obama's suddenly critical attitude to Israel at the end of his presidency.
