61  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] 60Ghash BFL or Avalon on: November 10, 2013, 02:18:14 AM
I'm looking to buy 1 or 2 60Ghash BFL singles at 2 BTC each. I may be interested in as many as 5, however I'd mostly curious about them, as I've never really done much mining, and want to give it a shot. I've seen quite a few sell for 2-3 BTC, and I figured if I can find someone willing to sell for 2 BTC its worth checking out the mining scene.

I'm located within the U.S, and I'm fine with escrow if you want it. PM me if you are interested,

Thanks.

*Edit* Actually, screw it, if you have any ASIC Mining hardware in hand for sale, please let me know. I think I'm looking for 50-60Ghash + Units, but feel free to pm me with offers on slightly smaller Miners.
62  Economy / Currency exchange / [CLOSED] WTS 7.5 BTC for $ in the Mail on: November 07, 2013, 08:23:45 PM
Hello, while I know its has its faults, I've found that shipping cash via USPS can be fairly safe if done correctly. It is legal to send cash in the mail, and you can even insure cash if sent registered mail or possibly overnight express. I buy and sell precious metals for both Bitcoin and Cash, and when I accumulate Bitcoins,  I need to convert them to USD to buy more metals to deal, and paypal/bank transfer doesn't cut it most of the time. If I want to go into a local shop and pick up some coins, I need cash.

So if you are interested in working something out, I'd be happy to use escrow, and leave me a response here or pm me.

I've got around 7.5 BTC currently to sell, in any increments you wish, I just ask that purchases be larger than $20, else its not really worth messing with.

= $100

63  Other / Politics & Society / Anti NSA Rally on: October 27, 2013, 02:39:20 AM
There was an Anti NSA rally in D.C today, did anyone else make it? Twas pretty neat, I actually saw a guy with a sign on him that said "I sell Bitcoins" but he was pretty far ahead of me in the march so I didn't get a chance to talk to him. I found it sort of odd, that the general demographic was older people, the median age being 40-50. There was actually an elderly woman, maybe in her 80s in a wheel chair with a Tor Project shirt on.

There were a few congress persons speaking out, and the neatest thing to take away, was that there was an ammendment to repeal the Patriot Act a few months ago, which only lost by 7 votes. A similar try is going back through, but it seems as though it has more supporters this time, including the man who wrote the Patriot Act and gathered support for it in the first place. So it seems there might be a chance of things getting better (I hope).
64  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Yamaha YEP201 Euphonium on: October 21, 2013, 10:03:28 PM
I'm just testing the waters to see if anyone is interested. I have a Yamaha YEP-201 Euphonium that I'm looking to sell. For those that don't know what a Euphonium is, it is the love child of a Tuba and a Trumpet, larger than the trumpet, but smaller than the tuba. I was planning on trading it into a music store for an Alto Sax, however I feel I can get a better price selling the Euphonium, and then putting the $ towards the Sax.

I'll upload pictures if there is any interest, but its in great condition, a few scratches, with the only really visable scratches on the keys (moving parts going up and down tend to scratch) no dents or dings or any other damage that would effect the sound quality. I'm the original owner, and it has never been repaired or relaquered. What you see (or will see if anyone is interested) is exactly what you get. Keys have been well oiled, so nothing sticks. No tarnish or rust on the instrument, well maintained in general. Comes with the original case and a sterilized mouth piece if you need it and all of the original paperwork.

I'll accept BTC, LTC, Paypal, Check, Silver/Gold etc, or however you want to do cash wise, as I plan on using the $ to get a Sax.

MSRP is around $2400 and they sell for around $1800 new, so I'm looking for around $1200 shipping included to the U.S. If you have any questions, don't hesistate to ask.

This is a stock photo, not mine, however I'll take photos of mine if anyone is interested.

65  Economy / Goods / Buy, Sell, or Trade Collectors Silver, Gold, and Bullion on: October 07, 2013, 09:19:18 PM
Hello people of BTCTalk. I have been an avid Silver stacker for years, and in the last few years got into the collectors coin market as well. I have a wide network of other collectors that I frequently buy/sell/trade with, and I figured I'd open up that market to you. Please note, spot price has very little to do with some of these coins. Some of them are semi collectable, and have lower premiums, some have low mintage numbers, pretty pictures, and are specially treated making them more valuable to collectors. I will also have lower premium generics and eagles and such from time to time. Before posting prices, I have price checked with other online retailers, and then undercut them to provide incentive to buy from myself, rather than them. This thread is self moderated, this is mainly to handle people complaining about spot prices, and to keep the thread on topic. If you are looking for something in particularly, pm me and I'll see if I can find it for you and give you a quote.

I accept BTC, LTC, or USD via Cash in the Mail, or Personal Check. Shipping within the U.S is the most convient, however I can ship out of the country. I'm also always looking to buy or trade, so if you have something interesting for sale, or you want to barter, let me know.

66  Economy / Goods / [WTB] 10 BTC Casascius Coin and 1 BTC Casascius Coin on: September 19, 2013, 11:36:44 PM
Hey, guys I'm looking to buy a 10 BTC Casacius Coin with the Gold BTC I'd like to pay cash for it, however I may purchase it with Bitcoins. Still funded would be prefered, but I may be interested in a spent one as well. Shoot me a PM if you have one for sale, and we can negotiate a price and payment method.

*edit* I also may be interested in a 1 Oz silver Casacius coin, again hopefully paid for in cash, but I may do Bitcoins as well.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Scrypt Bitcoin Threads NOT Allowed on: September 11, 2013, 08:08:36 PM
So there has been a lot of uproar about the new Scrypt "Bitcoin". I have discussed it with the other Staff members, and we feel it is in the forum user's best interest to not allow topics about the Scrypt Bitcoin on Bitcointalk.

Now before people get all upset about the censorship, let me explain our position,

First off, it is incredibly confusing to the Bitcointalk members, and even more so to new members. Those that stay out of the Altcoin scene in general are at a high risk of being caught in some level of fraud facilitated by the Scrypt Bitcoin, due to its name.

Second, users stand the risk of financial loss. Improper downloading of the Scrypt Bitcoin can cause damage to your real Bitcoin wallet. This is a similar stance that the forums holds to Malware. Even if the Scrypt Bitcoin did not intend to do damage, the possibility for damage is great, especially to those who don't understand the risks.

This is not a crackdown on all things Scrypt Bitcoin, we are not going to ban members for mentioning it in passing or anything insane like that, however we do request that you do not create new threads about it, or any download links or service discussion threads about it. I will be talking to the people who have existing threads regarding the Scrypt Bitcoin and figuring out what to do about those. New threads will be moved to the trashcan.

There are no hard feelings toward the coin, or Dev, however like mentioned before, its just too confusing and risky to actively allow a coin which could harm the forum users as a whole. Should the Developer of the Scrypt Bitcoin decide to change the name of it, it is welcomed back here.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask,

SaltySpitoon
68  Economy / Goods / [WTB] Silver Bullion on: September 10, 2013, 10:33:20 PM
Hailo, I run the LTC-Silver asset on LTC-Global (https://www.litecoinglobal.com/security/LTC-SILVER) , and I'm looking for some more stock for my IPO which will begin once I have the terms refinalized and recieve another shipment of silver that I am waiting on from Amagi. What I'm looking for, is .999 or greater 1 Troy Oz or larger bullion, Nothing larger than 10 Oz at the moment, but I am generally interested in 1 Oz, 2 Oz, 5 Oz, and 10 Oz Bars, Rounds, or Coins. I can pay in BTC or LTC, and escrow is fine.

I should mention though, I have multiple ways to test the silver, and will do so vigourously, so please don't waste my time sending me junk. If you feel the need to send me silver painted lead, you will have to pay the return shipping for it back.

Feel free to leave me offer in thread, or pm me.
69  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 3 Block Erupters .25 BTC each shipped *Updated 9/3* on: August 22, 2013, 09:04:17 PM
First off, as everyone knows, it is up to you to decide whether or not it is worth mining at this point. There are tons of ROI calculators out there and other things to factor in, so detirmine for yourself whether mining is a good risk for you.

Anyway, I'm looking to sell 31 4 Block Erupters that I have on hand. They are working fine, however I figured I should consolidate, and rather than having 10Ghash of Erupters, go with 10 Ghash of Blades.

I'm looking for .25 BTC each. I also have a few 5-7 Erupter Hub for .1 BTC and USB Fans for .05 BTC.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

70  Economy / Invites & Accounts / [SOLD] Dragon's Tale Account 3BTC on: August 21, 2013, 12:54:29 AM
Hello, I'm checking to see if anyone would be interested in purchasing my Dragon's Tale account. For those who are not farmiliar, Dragon's Tale is a popular BTC MMO Casino. You are an avatar, who is able to travel around many islands. Just about everything you can interact with imagineable is a gambling game, offering you different stakes, payouts, and various other rewards. Games range from skill games which give you a serious advantage if you play under certain conditions that you can watch for, and just basic luck games.

When you have an account, there is a referal system, and bonus system as well. The referal system called mentoring, allows players level 4 and higher, to take on students. Mentors are encouraged to teach their students the ropes, so they wont be completely dropped into a new game with a chance at losing money due to not knowing features. The reward for mentors is a % cut of your student's Dragon Treasures (DT). When any player plays a game, a % of their bet, winnings, and losings is recorded to their account as Dragon Treasures. When you reach 100% of your Dragon Treasures, you can recieve a bonus bundle of the Dragon Treasure amount.

Currently, 100% Dragon Treasure (DT) pays out a bonus lump sum of 2BTC, however, my account is very old. Back in the old days, the Dragon Treasure amounts were 8BTC. After logging on again recently, I learned that if your DT was >50% at the time of the shift from 8BTC to 2BTC, you were still able to recieve a 8BTC DT before it reverted back to 2BTC increments. This is why I'm looking to sell my account. I would very much like that BTC lumpsum, as it is a sizeable amount, however, I'm not a fan of gambling now adays. I'm a bit too impulsive when it comes to downward trend martingale strategies, so I have a tendency to throw far more BTC than I should at something like a 50/50 bet. I have learned with patience, it is completely possible to break even, if not gain money playing this game, however, of course as a gambling game, it plays at your impulses and emotions, so I'm not willing to risk losing my entire bankroll on a stupid decision, in hunt of an 8 BTC payout. However! I know that many people here do like to gamble, and know what they are doing, so I'd like to offer my account up for sale.

My account name is Lodsofemone and I currently have 80.55% of an 8BTC payout. My account is also level 4, meaning that you can take on students, however I do not have any at the moment. In raw DT, the account is worth 6.444 BTC (8BTC X 80.55%) I've got like .059 BTC on the account as well just leftover. Which leads the raw total value of the account to 6.5 BTC you can also factor in time spent to attain the levels if you want, but for simplicity sake, the account's hard net worth is 6.5 BTC.

If anyone likes the game, would like to start playing the game, or just wants that 8 BTC payout, please make me an offer in the thread or via pm. If you offer me via PM, I may post your offer in the thread as well, unless you specify that you would not like me to do so. You can also pm me or ask in thread for any other additional info that I may be able to provide. I believe I am looking for around 4 BTC for the account, given that some time, BTC, effort, and luck will need to go in to claim the 8 BTC prize, however at 2.5 BTC below the account's actual value, I believe that is incentive enough for someone to throw a BTC into the game, and give it a shot.

This is the offical site if you want to check out screenshots, or download the game and try it out: http://www.dragons.tl/

71  Economy / Computer hardware / [CLOSED] 10-20 Block Erupters on: August 15, 2013, 11:09:46 PM
First off, yes I am well aware of the ROI, chances of them not paying back etc.

I'm interested in experimenting with a few Erupters for a secret project, and decided I'd check to see if anyone had given up mining with them here first before going to Ebay. I'm looking to buy with $ via Paypal, as Paypal actually works fine for physical things. I'm not completely sure on the price per unit since they change from week to week, so I'd appreciate it if interested sellers could pm me or post what they are looking for them, and the quantity they are selling. Not in hand is fine, as long as the preorder date is soonish. I may be interested in more than 10-20 if the price is right, however I plan to start there. Also, if you have a full setup, USB Hub, fan, etc I'd be interested in that as well.

If you have run yours off of a Raspberry Pi, would you mind also letting me know how many you were successfully able to run at a time?

Thanks for your time, and info,

SaltySpitoon

Edit* thanks for the replies, I have purchased the BEs.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / MOVED: [SCAM WARNING] [ANN] Physical LiteCoins Available Now - Physical Crypto! ------- on: June 27, 2013, 03:06:59 AM

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] Coinversation.org a new alt currency forum on: May 25, 2013, 05:06:08 PM
I'd like to announce a new forum designed for the Alt coin community, www.coinversation.org. It is intended to be a slightly more structured, but a more fluid forum for all of the emerging currencies.

First off I'd like to note, that I have properly informed, and discussed the site with Theymos, making sure there is no conflict of interest in serving as a moderator here, and creating a forum to work next to Bitcointalk. Second, this will be treated as a regular thread, no special privileges will be had because I serve as a moderator to this board.

Coinversation.org is a traditional forum that uses SMF, but with a few features that set it apart. It is open to adding more boards to accommodate the expanding coin scene (please check our coin listing standards on the Info board). We will also be more strict on the intercoin fighting. We realize that people like the drama sometimes, and some are just confrontational people, so we have a separate area for people to complain about whatever they want to their heart's content, without bothering forum members who are not interested in partaking. We are also creating an initiative to cut out scammers. We are aware that we can't get rid of the threat all together, but we are doing our best by fast forwarding the process to applying scammer tags to members with appropriate evidence against them, and working on an integrated feedback system. This will not completely erase the threat, so please, as always use the discretion that you have learned, but we hope that it will help. We have eliminated newbie jail, instead requiring email verification, and users to enter a captcha for their first five posts, until they become a Pico Member. This is subject to change, as we won't know completely how effective it in reducing advertisers and bots until the site is operational, but we believe that this is the best method until proven wrong.

As for staff, I know all of our admins and moderators personally. That means, greater accountability. If they do something wrong, I can physically smack them around, so there is less possibility for user abuse.

And lastly, the site is still very primitive. As it is now, the awe inspiring features are at a minimum, but we are working on them. In the state it is at now, it should be fully functional, besides a few bugs that I'm sure will pop up (but be fixed promptly) so if you want to give the forums a shot, check it out, suggest features, and help us give the community a great place to be.

Important:

be sure to read the threads inside of the "info and forum policies" board, found here http://coinversation.org/ctpwm/index.php?board=5.0 . It highlights a few policies to clarify what I said in this thread.

and I can't stress it enough, please use a different password on coinversation than you use here. I would not like anyone's security to be compromised for any reason. By having a different password, it just helps in general.

Be aware, this is the first public test, features may be buggy while we get things straightened out. We have had functionality to a acceptable level with a handful of members, but this is our first public release.

Feel free to post any comments, questions, or concerns here, and I will try to address them, or if I don't have an answer, accommodate them.

I just wonder what movie it is.

76  Economy / Goods / More Silver for Sale (10 Oz) *SOLD* on: January 15, 2013, 01:29:23 AM
SPECIAL OFFER The Somali Elephant or Canadian Antelope (your pick as long as available) will come free with the purchase of the 8 Oz Silver Eagle, already marked down! Thats only 2.5 BTC per Oz!

I've got a few more silver coins that I'm looking to sell, among this list are,

1x 1995 8 Oz Proof DCameo Silver Eagle (24BTC)
9x 1 Oz 2012 Silver Eagles (2.6BTC each) SOLD
1x 1 Oz 2013 Silver Somali Elephant (2.85 BTC)
2x 1 Oz 2012 Silver Philharmonics ( 2.6 BTC each) SOLD
1x 1 Oz 2013 Canadian Antelopes (2.7 BTC)
2x 1 Oz Silver Eagles (2003 and 2012 not in airtite cases) (2.5 BTC each) SOLD

Photos here: http://imgur.com/BVvpv,kEPiy,H9TKv,R8RMm,ajMsE,OIRMh#0

Shipping will be included via USPS, if you would like insurance or your package to be shipped through another postal servis, I'd be happy to oblige, at the added cost.

All of these coins are in airtite cases, minus the two that I have listed above that are in plastic flips. The coins were taken from mint sealed rolls of 20, and placed into airtite capsules. There may be minor scratches/dust on the cases themselves, but I can guarantee the coins are in mint condition, brilliant uncirculated.

The 8 Oz coin is 8 Troy Ounces and comes with certificate of authenticity and the display case. It is actually an odd sort of coin, labeled "Giant Half-Pound Silver Eagle" from the Washington mint, while in reality, its not half pound in any sense. The standard pound consists of 16 ounces, at 28 grams per ounce. The Troy pound consists of 12 Troy ounces, at 31.1 grams per ounce. This coin, being 8 troy ounces, is actually 2/3 of a Troy Pound, and oddity when it comes to minted coins. This is a fairly rare coin, 1995 Silver eagles being the rarest, with some 1 oz proof 1995 silver eagles selling over $10,000.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, and I'll get back to you asap. Thanks for looking

FUN SILVER FACTS!

Did you know that silver is approximately 4x more rare as gold?

Silver is historically 1:16 with gold, meaning that 1 oz of gold has been equivalent to 16 oz of silver, but as of now, the ratio is 1:48

95% of all of the silver ever mined has been used up in Industry, and is NOT recoverable at any cost. In 1900 there were 12 Billion Ounces of Silver mined and useable, now 112 years later, there are only 300 Million Ounces left in the world.

At Current prices, $4 Billion USD could purchase EVERY single ounce of Silver above ground in the world.

Unlike gold, silver is much more commonly used in industry from Medical, to Electrical, to Consumer goods.

The demand for Silver is quickly overtaking supply.

Hey guys, I have 211 22K Gold Golden Legends Baseball cards from the Danbury mint for sale. They are all mint condition still in their original packaging from the mint. I'm not too much of a baseball fan, but these cards are quite neat.

I will be breaking up the sets, so if you want a set, pm me and lay your claim quickly before the parts start to sell. If you want multiple cards, I can sell cheaper than individually, pm me with inquiries.

All of the pictures are in the Imgur links below, and the google docs spreadsheet has all of the names and info of the players I have, so pick your favorites, and don't miss your shot to own some neat shiny baseball cards.

79  Other / Meta / Vote SaltySpitoon for Alt Currency Moderator! on: November 05, 2012, 05:52:25 PM
Hey guys, I have been in communication with Theymos about becoming the new Alt Currency section moderator. In order to do so, I must receive feedback from the community first to see how you like the idea, or whether we would prefer to keep it anarchy. So let me introduce myself, and then you can all vote no.

I am SaltySpitoon, and have been an avid BTC Talk user since August 17, 2011, and have been on the Alt Currency scene for a while. I am a BTC and LTC user, but I don't discriminate against any coins, feel free to search my post history for any negative bias towards any coins (perhaps I have been a bit less than neutral about Solidcoins, but I hope that you will forgive me there)

I believe I have been fairly neutral on subject matters that haven't warranted unreasonable behavior, and probably most important to this section, I have a sense of humor and am pretty laid back. I have been in no serious disputes, and have even contributed in the form of an idea for a new cryptocurrency (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=82726.0)

To be clear, this would only be moderation of the Alt Currency section, no where else. And I thank you for your COINsideration!
