81  Economy / Lending / I need a loan for a new crypto business (30 BTC - 3 month term - 7% per month) on: August 30, 2013, 06:12:50 PM
Hi,

My name is CoinHoarder. I am starting a new business project and need a little extra funding to get everything going. I am a trusted member of the forums and have done over $20,000 in transactions through the forums (buying & selling mining equipment). I have also ran a couple large group buys for Bitcoin ASICs, handling over 1500 BTC without any problems. One of which is currently hashing and paying dividends. I have an absolutely flawless reputation on the forums, read my trust reviews here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=67959

Group buy references:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=268280.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=157930.0

The loan repayment is not contingent on the success of my business. I make about 50k a year as a Landman in the Oil & Gas business. I can provide proof. If worst comes to worst and my business fails, I will repay the loan from my day job.

Loan terms:
- 30 BTC
- 7% monthly
- 3 month term
- I reserve the right to repay the total amount of BTC owed at anytime and end this arrangement.

I can provide:
- Ebay feedback
- Personal Email
- ID card scan
- Utility bill scan
- Forum member identity confirmation (a few forum members have met me IRL)
- References
- My last few years of 1099s (tax forms confirming income)
- My linkedin account
- Anything else you suggest within reason

I expect this loan to be payed back in less than 2 months, but just to be careful I put a 3 month term to allow a little leeway. If you are interested or want to hear more details, please send me a PM. Due to the cutthroat world we live in, I will not post my business' details in this thread. Again, PM me if you want more details.

I will post a thread in the Auction forum with the agreed terms. Posts are uneditable there, and that is where we will do the contract. You will reply confirming the loan and terms.

Thank you for your time,

Ch
82  Bitcoin / Hardware / Is Avalon giving refunds on past due chip orders? on: August 30, 2013, 02:44:33 AM
I received a couple PMs stating that BitSyncom was giving refunds to past due chip orders. However, I'm going through his last posts and it seems he's only talking about Batch 3 refunds. Is he giving refunds for chip orders too? Where is everyone getting this info from?

Obviously I want a refund... the chips would not break even if delivered today when you add assembly costs. Also, I can no longer trust Avalon will deliver soon anyways.. it will likely be a month+ before all chips are shipped and in the possession of miners. It's anyone's guess how long that will take.
83  Bitcoin / Legal / Will pay BTC for legal advice (USA) on: August 29, 2013, 02:44:04 AM
Please PM me with a short description of your qualifications, and suggest a rate BTC/hr or BTC/min or BTC/question.. however you'd like to do it. I will get back to you.

I would post my questions here, but last time I revealed my next business plan on these forums for feedback, someone else took my idea and beat me to it.  Cheesy

Thanks,

Ch
84  Other / Meta / Proposed new subforum for Custom Hardware on: August 27, 2013, 06:21:18 AM
RE: ASIC vendor (Avalon, BFL, etc..) hate/smear/scam/delay/lawsuit/"BFL cut their toenails" threads.

I think ckolivas' said it best:
It is completely out of control and is unacceptable.

It's time to split off the threads and make the subforums suitable.

I suggest renaming "Custom hardware" to "Custom hardware development" and adding another hardware subforum "Vendor customer discussion"

Thread this topic stemmed from (currently stickied in Custom Hardware): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=281307.0

Except, I suggest leaving Custom Hardware for general custom hardware discussion that's not vendor specific and not having to do with development.

So.. it'd be like:
Custom Hardware
Custom Hardware Development
Vendor Customer Discussion
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PREDICTION: A SHA256 ALT coin will become as big a success as Litecoin (1-2Yrs) on: August 20, 2013, 01:48:38 AM
I would like to preface this with the fact that I was one of the few people that saw the potential in Litecoin back in 2012. When everyone was busy selling their old GPUs and mining hardware due to the upcoming Bitcoin reward halving, I was instead busy buying the cheap hardware to mine Litecoins. Unfortunately, I went through some hard times late 2012 and early 2013, where I was unemployed and had to live off of my stash of crypto coins. Otherwise, I would be a millionaire right now (I was mining 500-1000+ LTC/day back then.) I kind of look at the Litecoin boat as having already passed. I still think it is a good investment, but it will not provide you the crazy returns that investing into Litecoin at $0.10 would have brought considering the current value is $2.34.

My original line of thinking when speculating on Litecoin was that soon GPU mining was going to become unprofitable on Bitcoin and there would be many new people switching over to Litecoin. New miners means the network is more secure, it adds people into the Litecoin economy, and provides more people that would want to see/help Litecoin be further developed (due to their new ownership of some Litecoins.) Thus, increasing the value of Litecoin (or speculated value), because of these factors and probably many more that I can't think of off the top of my head... any benefit of adding new people to the community could bring.

I see this same situation forming in Bitcoinland again and I expect the result to play out similarly, although there are a couple differences this time. The Bitcoin network difficulty is going up so fast so quick, that soon ASICs made on larger process nodes (60-100+nm) will become unprofitable in 2014 due to the amount of power they consume versus ASICs built on smaller process nodes (<60nm). This will leave many Bitcoin ASIC owners owning a paper weight. ASICs can only do what they are made to do, spit out SHA256 hashes- there is no other use for these ASICs.

Just like the GPU miners making lemonade out of lemons by mining Scrypt coins once their GPUs were unprofitable on Bitcoin, large process node ASIC users will do the same with SHA256 ALT coins. This large influx of new miners and users of SHA256 ALT coins will have a similar affect to what the new GPU miners did for Litecoin.

Keep in mind most of this post is speculation. I'm not sure which SHA256 coin is going to win the lottery, if any of them out of the ones that currently exist. Perhaps there will be a new one that comes out inbetween now and then that actually has some innovation and advantages to Bitcoin. All I am saying is the next coin to be entering massive hyper adoption will be a SHA256 coin, mark my words.

Thoughts/opinions welcome. Tell me I'm wrong, tell me I'm right. I love to speculate and discuss potential life changing investment strategies. I'm not in this to make chump change.. I want to buy an island after I cash out all my coins, not just a fancy dinner. Smiley

87  Economy / Auctions / 282 Avalon Chips via Group Buy Orders [Steamboat/ragingazn628] [AT COST!!!] on: August 12, 2013, 06:02:49 PM
The chips are from the following group buys:
179 chips - ragingazn628 (Group Buy #1) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177994.0
103 chips - steamboat (Group Buy #4) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192916.0

I will arrange with the group buy operators to change the shipping address on my orders. If this is not possible, then I will ship the chips to you (or wherever you'd like) as soon as I receive them.

The starting bid is less than 10 cents more than what I payed for them (~ 0.083/chip)!!
(I only rounded up to make it easier to bid and follow the auction.)

Please bid in increments of 0.001 BTC

To reduce the amount of work for the group buy operators, there can only be one winner per group buy. The only possible chip combinations you can bid on are 103 chips, 179 chips, or all 282 chips.

Example starting bids:
103@0.083
179@0.083
282@0.083

Timer removed. End time: 2013-08-15+01:00:00UTC
This auction will go until the above timer runs out. Every bid will be counted up until I post that the auction has ended- even if the bid was made in between when the timer runs out and when I make the post that the auction has ended. If the timer runs out and I have not posted that the auction has ended, it is fair game to bid until I do so.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Ch
88  Bitcoin / Group buys / [CLOSED] Diversified Group Buy [KNC/BitFury/VMC/HashFast] on: August 05, 2013, 07:47:55 AM
The Plan:
Let’s face it, at this point we don’t know who out of the vaporware vendors will deliver on time, or if they will ever deliver at all. Investing in only one manufacturer’s hardware could leave you sitting on the sidelines and missing out on huge profits (see early BFL customers vs. early Avalon customers). I am spearheading a different type of group buy for the purpose of diversifying invested funds for the purpose of mining Bitcoins. By buying mining hardware from multiple manufacturers, I aim to reduce the variance and risks associated with buying vaporware.

Not only am I making the best effort to diversify they group’s investment funds, but I have chosen the cheapest products ($ per Gh) from three manufacturers that I think are not scams. All three companies have similar shipping projections (September/October/November.) Also, all products to be ordered are built on small process nodes, ensuring that we will have an energy efficient mining operation, leaving us profitable even after Avalon 1st gen chips become unprofitable (and others built on larger process nodes.)

With that said, I am suggesting we invest in the following products from the following manufacturers:
- Bitfury 400 Gh Kit (October Delivery) - $8000 usd +shipping
- KNC Miner Jupiter 400Gh (September Delivery) - $7000 usd +shipping
- VMC Fast Hash One (Two 256 Gh One Modules) (October/November Delivery) - $7998 usd +shipping

UPDATE: Added by investor vote:
- HashFast Baby Jet 400 Gh (Late October Delivery) - $5,600 +shipping

Terms:
1 BTC invested = 1/X portion of profits from all mining machines combined
(X being the total amount invested on all equipment)

Products will be bought in the order they are listed. (As soon as $8000 is raised, a Bitfury 400 Gh will be bought. After that, as soon as $7000 is raised, a KNC Miner Jupiter 400 Gh will be ordered. After that, as soon as $7998 is raised, a VMC Fast Hash One will be ordered... Etc.. ) Machines will be ordered using this process until there is no more interest from investors. I will order as much equipment the group can afford, or order until I do not have anymore hosting space available, whichever comes first.

I reserve the right to change which products and/or manufacturers we order from in this group buy. I will use my best judgment to pursue the products that are in each investor’s best interest. The mining hardware world is ever changing, perhaps there may be a better deal tomorrow or next week that would suit each investor’s pocketbook better. The group will be notified if I'm contemplating changing/adding a product ordered to gather feedback.

If at anytime it is more profitable to mine ALT coins than Bitcoins, I reserve the right to direct our farm towards and ALT coin of my choosing. If at anytime a decent profit can be made by simply selling the hardware via eBay or auctioning on this forum etc, then I reserve the right to do so. Again, I will not do either of these without first consulting the group.

Electricity costs will be subtracted from each month’s dividend payments using the latest Mt. Gox average for cost calculation. The equipment will be hosted in my home where I have hosted a large Bitcoin/Litecoin farm for about a year now. After electricity costs are taken out, I will take out a 3% hosting fee, and then proceed to pay dividends to investors.

The equipment will be hosted on Eligius, allowing for complete transparency (many real time graphs and data for everyone to see), and also added benefit of a 0% pool fee from Eligius.

I am not responsible for hardware manufacturer non delivery under any circumstances. In the event that one manufacturer does not deliver, I will do my best to make sure that each investor’s funds are returned. Obviously this requires some cooperation from the manufacturer, but know that I will go to all lengths necessary to get our money back in the event of non-delivery, (including but not limited) to filing a lawsuit. Although I will make every effort to provide a safe and appropriate hosting environment, I cannot be held liable for hardware failure and theft of property (including computer security intrusions). Again, I will make every effort possible in these regards.

Share transfers will be allowed at any time, you may sell your shares to anyone you'd like via the forums or any way you'd like. As we've done with our previous group buy, selling shares in the auction sub forum has been probably the best way to do that. I monitor the Auction sub forums occasionally and will pop in and confirm you have the shares to sell. Share transfers will have a cut off date on the 27th day of each month. Whoever owns the stock on that day will receive the whole dividend for that month. Dividends will be payed at the end of each month.

I will keep extensive records of all transactions, share ownership, and share transfers in Excel format. These will be available at all times to all group buy participants after the funds have been collected and equipment ordered. I have worked hard to keep extensive records and maintain proper transparency with my first group buy and I will do the same with this one!

The group buy will have its own forums like my first, where I will provide news and updates and we can discuss all details as a group. I run my group buy like a democracy, I ask the group their opinion on almost every decision I make about the the group buy and our hardware. I tend to settle with the majority, but will in the rare case veto something if deemed extremely necessary.

This is a risky investment, I make no promise or guarantee of any profits. I only promise to offer an honest hosting service, anything that is out of my control cannot be blamed on me. (IE. manufacturer delays, etc.)

About Me:
I conducted one of the first (if not THE first) group buys for ASIC hardware on these forums when we ordered seven Batch 3 Avalons. I just received tracking information for my previous group buy, and I would say everyone is generally happy with my service and can attest to my trustworthiness. I have received the 7 Avalons ordered from this group buy and they are currently hashing here: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1QHZohmAdip28TM7U6KsyRXUrbvRvadtZB

Here are some pictures of farms I currently run/have ran in the past:

Apart from my previous group buy, I have also done over $20,000 worth of transactions on these forums without any problems at all. I have both bought and sold products and services numerous times on these forums and am as trustworthy as they come.

How To Invest:
*Only send in funds with an address that you can control. You must be able to sign transactions with this address so that you can prove you are the true sender of these Bitcoins in case there are any issues*

MINIMUM INVESTMENT IS 5 BTC- any amount received lower than 5 BTC will be sent back to the sender.
NOTE: Shareholders of my first group buy can buy in for a minimum of 1 BTC.

Please send your investment to: -redacted-
No longer accepting investments.

Please reply to this thread with how much BTC you sent AND the transaction ID!

Thank you for your time,

90  Bitcoin / Group buys / [Bitfury/Knc/Vmc] Multi-Manufacturer Group Buy- Diversify Your Mining Investment on: July 29, 2013, 12:04:10 PM

Expenses will be subtracted from each month’s dividend payments using the latest Mt. Gox average for cost calculation. The equipment will be hosted in a shared environment with my previous Avalon Batch 3 group buy. This allows both operations to split the bills to operate as efficiently as possible (monetarily speaking).

The following expenses will be deducted from the BTC mined:
- Electricity costs (both for the mining rigs and air conditioner- calculated by the power used by this group buy versus total power used by both operations.)
- Half rent ($225 usd)
- Half security system with live monitoring ($??) (I’m not sure about the cost on this yet, I am getting the security system installed this week so I will know soon.)
- Half Internet Bill ($40)

After expenses are taken out, I will take out a flat 5% 3.5% hosting fee and then proceed to pay dividends to investors.

The equipment will be hosted on Eligius, allowing for complete transparency (many real time graphs and data for everyone to see), and also added benefit of a 0% pool fee from Eligius.

91  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Batch 3 is finally shipping - AT LEAST 48 Th coming online soon on: July 26, 2013, 01:06:36 PM
600 units @ at least 80Gh each = at least 48 Th of Avalons

This is assuming every unit is a 3 module version. As we all know, there were many 4 module versions purchased aswell.

I have received tracking info for the following order numbers from Avalon Batch 3:
#4753 ; #7365; #7577; #9038; #9150; #9345

Current network speed: 231.03 Th

I'm estimating at least a %40 network speed increase in the next 14-30 days.

(25% from Avalon batch 3; 5% from BFL; 10% ASICMINER)

92  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS Anker USB hubs (runs 10 ASICMINER USBs) on: July 05, 2013, 03:12:52 AM
I have probably 7 (not sure yet, maybe more) Anker USB hubs bought last week for about $58 a piece here:
http://www.amazon.com/Anker%C2%AE-Uspeed-10-Port-Adapter-Aluminum/dp/B007ZWFKX8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372993275&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+usb+hub+10

See the above link for the specs. These types of USB hubs are a rare breed, they provide enough power to run 10 ASICMINER USBs. Most hubs don't come with enough power to do that.

I'll sell them for .6 BTC  each with shipping included in the US. Add .1 BTC for international shipping.

If you order more than one I will offer a discount, as shipping costs on my end would be negated.

These would work well with ASICMINER USBs, other ASICs, or FPGAs as well.

I am open to offers, just hit me up. I really don't have much use for these because I sold most of my ASICMINER USBs.

Cheers,

Ch

94  Economy / Currency exchange / WTB 1 BTC (125% over spot) on: June 28, 2013, 10:15:41 PM
Hi,

I need to come up with 1 BTC tonight or tomorrow, I am a bit short for a business transaction.

I have done $100,000+ of transactions/group buys on here and am as trustworthy as they come.

I will pay 125% over Mtgox average to give you some incentive to sell a Bitcoin to me.  Smiley

Ideally you will have a wells fargo bank account, where I can instantly transfer you the USD online. If not, I will directly deposit cash into your bank account tomorrow morning (as long as your bank has a location here.)

Thanks,

Ch

EDIT: If there are no takers tonight, the offer is off the table.. I will just use Bitinstant. Thanks!
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / BFL ASIC Chip PCB Design/Manufacturing & Assembly on: June 18, 2013, 12:29:53 AM
Who's gonna do it?

There are so so so many options to get Avalon chips assembled... almost too many.

Hopefully at least one of you are planning on doing the same for BFL chips???

Before I plop down $7k on 100 chips, I'd like to know I will have somewhere to get them assembled.  Grin
96  Bitcoin / Hardware / What ASIC horse are you backing? on: June 09, 2013, 05:49:41 PM
So, there are many many options to buy ASICs now (hooray)!  Grin

Almost too many.. it has become hard to decide what to buy!  Embarrassed

I thought it would be interesting for everyone to post which company they are planning on/have ordered ASICs from and why.

I'll start it off by saying I've ordered some Avalon bulk chips and have no idea where I'm getting them assembled yet, but I am leaning towards Terrahash. I am also looking to buy an ASIC built on a smaller process node (BFL/kncminer/bitfury/etc), but I haven't decided which company to go with yet. I am leaning towards kncminer/bitfury because of their attractive prices.

What have you ordered or are planning on ordering and why?

I ran out of space in this post. Angry

The list has been moved off of the forums to: http://www.cryptoreview.net

I also "re-branded" it as more of a general cryptocurrency review site, rather than only reviewing innovative coins. Let me know what you think of the new website- any suggestions are welcome!

If you would like to you can still keep an eye on this thread, because I will post here every time I add a cryptocurrency or make a blog post to serve as notification of some sort. I think this will be a good way to receive feedback as well.

If you would rather contact me through the website then there is a contact page where you can submit a cryptocurrency for review, let me know your opinion on a blog post or cryptocurrency analysis, or notify me of a factual error on this website. This goes straight to my email, so it is the quickest way to get a hold of me.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ZeroCoin Whitepaper Discussion (is it the first truly innovative ALT coin????) on: May 12, 2013, 03:33:09 AM
This is one of the most innovative merge mined / ALT coin ideas IMO, it's a shame there isn't a thread here on the ALT subforum about it.

It is an idea of a merge mined SHA-256 coin that truly adds anonymity to the Bitcoin network.

Quote:
"Abstract—Bitcoin is the first e-cash system to see widespread
adoption. While Bitcoin offers the potential for new types of
financial interaction, it has significant limitations regarding
privacy. Specifically, because the Bitcoin transaction log is
completely public, users’ privacy is protected only through the
use of pseudonyms. In this paper we propose Zerocoin,
a cryptographic extension to Bitcoin that augments the protocol
to allow for fully anonymous currency transactions. Our system uses
standard cryptographic assumptions and does not introduce
new trusted parties or otherwise change the security model of
Bitcoin. We detail Zerocoin’s cryptographic construction, its
integration into Bitcoin, and examine its performance both in
terms of computation and impact on the Bitcoin protocol."

I am going to go on record on saying that this is going to be the new best ALT currency, this is true innovation. They aren't just changing a couple parameters of existing coins. They are actually improving Bitcoin by making it more Anonymous, while creating a new coin at the same time. This has the possibility of blowing most other ALTs out of the water in terms of value. The silk road/bmr/etc. types are going to love this and also libertarians like myself.

I just found out about this today- I saw it on the schedule for the Bitcoin conference and I can't wait to hear more about it.

PS: I did not write the white paper and have no affiliation with this the guys that did- I just think it is really neat.

100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [WTB] Website Design & Development (Litecoin payment) on: April 26, 2013, 12:07:54 AM
Hi all!

I am looking for a trustworthy forum member to setup, design, and develop a simple web site to sell physical Litecoins at. I am very serious about this project and am moving into the manufacturing stage of the first batch of coins, therefore I need to get a website setup to sell them on! I need someone that can do both the design and the development. I am not too concerned about the website looking all pretty and fancy, I just want it to work.

Rough draft design of the physical Litecoins:

Web Site Requirements:
- Accept Litecoin for payment
- Automatically calculate shipping costs
- A way to keep track of orders placed in an easy to read and secure manner

Bonus Points:
- Automatically load the physical Litecoins when someone buys one. (I will provide a text file with the addresses with private keys redacted.)
- An easy way to create shipping labels

My budget is about $1500usd, with a little wiggle room to work with. This can be payed via either Bitcoins or Litecoins.

Please submit all questions and correspondence in this thread. Feel free to submit a bid if you can meet all the requirements.

Thanks,

Ch
