41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cryptsy is unsafe on: November 20, 2013, 07:43:54 AM
As i post this, i have been logged onto two seperate accounts each with significant balances and i've posted in the chatbox as proof. i even have a screenshot of a guys' account, i suggest you withdraw your funds quickly, not everyone is as honest as me. @ Cryptsy, i expect a big deposit in my account for not tampering with these accounts and funds and ruining your reputation in the process.

Hi all

I've enjoyed my experience with armory and want to know how to fork it for the alts i am interested in, if you have an idea of how to do it or a small guide, your assistance would be appreciated.

Anyone gotten around to testing it on scrypt mining?
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [Pre-ANN] Trinkets A.K.A NAC (NOT Another Coin) on: October 28, 2013, 05:24:12 PM
Introducing Trinkets (NAC)

Scrypt-jane Pow/PoS
Aimed at the crypto community's small to medium players
Explores energy efficiency by encouraging users to rely on PoS rather than the energy and resource hungry PoW
Attempts to satisfy functionality while experimenting with different reward calculations
Inspired by CENT, it will have non-divisible units, smallest being 1 NAC

Design specs

Block reward of  5 during GPU mineable period, increases to 50  once it is CPU only
Pit-stop rewards for solvers of NAC specials (to encourage mining even when it seems pointless)
Trinket blocks will have 666 coins each (they'll be primes)
Monthly stake of 300% compounded daily @  1 % during GPU mining period, raised to 600% compounded @ 2% for CPU period

Remarks

I hope to improve the currency by time of release, as this is a pro-ann, note that some kinks are being hammered out.
There is no rush to release, there will be a 2 day ANN and a 100 block no reward period to allows miners to prepare. I give myself a week to do it and also to hear the communities opinions and ideas.
Premine is debatable at the moment, i first want to get a functional coin then see what costs i would have incurred to get it to perfection.
Anyone is welcome to join in getting it off the ground.

May be backed by Zimbabwean dollars, i now have 10 trillion of them.

45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Random Satoshi thought on: October 28, 2013, 12:14:53 AM
What if satoshi nakamoto was just a guy working at AMD entrusted with a profit making plan? slowly introduce something that amd was better at than nvidia then let the evil flow? of course things got out of control with FPGA and ASIC but....just how big a boom did amd see in business?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [WANTED] Guide for making your own Mobile wallet on: October 26, 2013, 05:39:09 PM
I've been dabbling with the idea a lot and since i havent had any success i wanted to ask the community for a guide on how to make one. any help is appreciated.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is profitable to CPU mine? on: October 21, 2013, 02:44:18 PM
any ideas?
48  Bitcoin / Hardware / Knc vs Butterfly on: October 13, 2013, 09:01:46 AM
Is it better to blow 5 grand on the supposed november shipping for KNC or to order the PCI-e Butterfly labs item? Considering how long it took butterfly labs, then i haven't seen or heard of a working KNC miner, it leaves me uneasy to invest. Last time i used the wait and see approach, it worked, didn't order and i used that money to make more from scrypt clones.

what do ya'llz think?
49  Other / Off-topic / Faces and fingerprints on: September 26, 2013, 07:00:03 AM
I managed to hook up a few thousand faces and fingerprints. 10 BTC each, though.... no asking for ss# and id# , i'm not american ya heard!!! btw, i know a simple hack for iphone 5s so holla!!
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / POS Coins on: September 24, 2013, 07:46:20 PM
I think POS coins that generate relative interest are the future. CENT had a bug, but it got me thinking, GPU mining is becoming less profitable and people are becoming energy conscious. Promoting CPU mined POS coins may very well be the next step.

1) Everyone has a CPU
2) CPU mined coins allow far much more playing with code
3) Energy efficient
3) The POS enables those without large bots to join in by buying and sitting on them

Unlike in the case of CENT , i'd suggest playing with different methods of calculating Stake.
To that end i am thinking of making a clone that encompasses these values. We've tested POW and played with it, i think POS is next in line.

Specs will most likely be

2 minute blocks
scrypt-jane starting with high nfactor, maybe a week max will be GPU mineable.
10% stake, per week.
Max POW coins = 1 mill
POS max = 25 mill
1 coin per block

Before you start ranting about botnets, please consider that i can build a decent machine with an i5 processor @ the price of each of a 7950
or bulk buy used Quad-core Pcs @ 83 bucks a pop
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Understanding POS on: September 24, 2013, 06:51:52 PM
i'd like to know

1) how to change what percentage POS uses from my balance.
2) does it generate based on chain start time or based on the length of time i've held the coins.
3) Is POS CPU only or does GPU push the process along
4)why does stake percentage vary? i had two wallets with similar amounts but they gained different stake
5) say stake generates @ 2 months, do i need to keep my client running, or only start it when i'm close to two months?
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Compilation error Windows on: September 04, 2013, 02:25:53 PM
i keep getting

'g++' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Makefile.Release:720: recipe for target 'build/bitcoin.o' failed
mingw32-make: *** [build/bitcoin.o] Error 1

anyone know how to deal with this?
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Proof of stake on: September 02, 2013, 08:41:00 PM
i have a question,  is it normal for proof of stake coins to outnumber pow coins by a factor of 5 before a coin has even reached 0.001 percent of it's total cap?
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cryptsy Mobile on: September 02, 2013, 08:57:17 AM
I am thinking of making a Android app to monitor cryptsy prices and trades. for security reasons it will not be able to make trades. However at users discretion i could add the option as add on. Anyone else feel it's time they could monitor via mobile app?

EDIT:

So here's what i have come up with

Cryptsy Mobile App

  • View Markets
  • View balances, withdraw
  • Graphs (maybe)

Optional

  • Post trades
  • Chat

Adjustable settings are which markets to display under BTC and LTC, maybe view traded volumes.

Each copy will only activate after authentication and if i get vern to agree, when it makes a call, it will cross check the validity of the copy. Sorry guys but i'll probably have to pay someone along the way for help in getting this to actually work.

So the hurdles are

Battery saving
Bandwidth use
User friendly layout
Security (we all know android)
iOS
integrating the trade bot
Figuring a way to deal with the Graphs, perhaps use a different one that is more mobile screen friendly.

I am hoping to get this on Google Play. I'll keep updating on progress but don't expect immediate results, i am new to this platform.

So my friend has rights to a lot of videos and we recently befriended a strip club owner... he is mulling the idea of a "token" that can be used to view his employees online. We suggested an altcoin. Good idea?
