I'm trying to get DNS seeds setup properly for Syscoin. We've got the NS and A records all setup properly and a fork for sipa-seeder running but for some reason its only returning 1 ip when queried rather than a list like I see on the bitcoin/litecoin DNS seeds. I'm don't have a wealth of experience with the seeder software so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

If you nslookup seed1.syscoin.org or seed2.syscoin.org you can see it returns a single IP which is being served by the sipa-seeder software I just don't know why its not returning more than one:

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / ETH Mining Q- 9x 290/380 = ONLY 100mh/s?! Pls help, pics and details inside on: February 17, 2017, 12:18:31 AM
I'm hoping someone can help me, I bought a fully assembled ETH miner with 6x AMD 290/380 4GB gfx cards. The rig was happily mining at a steady 120mh/s for a year and then things started acting up. First thing that happened was one of the cards suddenly started reported ~2.x mh/s rather than the normal 20mh/s, knocking the power down to a total ~100mh/s. I wasn't too worried about this, so i just let it keep hashing away. It was when a second card failed, this time reporting 0 mh/s that I decided it was time to fix things.

So I picked up 3 matching gently used 290/380 4GB cards for a decent price and swapped out the 2 cards that were producing <20mh/s with new cards. This did nothing to solve the problem. I asked around on slack and some people suggested I swap out the cheap "ribbon risers" with "proper risers" so I did that, also did nothing to solve the problem.

So now I'm here seeing if some pros can help me out. The weird twist to this situation is that with all 6 cards in the rig, including the one that is under-hashing, I can get a total ~104mh/s. I don't know if these operate in pairs or something but if I disconnect the 1 card that is under-hashing, the entire rig drops down to 80mh/s with a DIFFERENT card now under-hashing- I'm completely baffled by this; put back the "slow" card and its back to an almost-full-power ~104mh/s.

So I now have 9 of these higher-end gfx cards but for the life of me can't figure out why I can't get that last 20mh/s of power back. Is it possible the PCI port labeled #1 in the pics is just like... dead or something? Is there anyway to test that? Any help or guidance at all would be appreciated, TIA!

I'd like to setup a faucet for Syscoin but don't want to have to deal with all the overhead related to mitigating abuse. I was wondering if there is a pay-to-host faucet service that would run the faucet w all the proper safeguards in place to prevent abuse for a monthly/yearly fee?

    I'm part of  a project that is launching a new altcoin that provides very innovative features on top of the core bitcoin blockchain technology. The featureset of this new coin is comparable to Maidsafe coin but rather than having a single innovation this coin has several (with even larger features in the roadmap). At launch we will have at least 3 features on top of the maidsafe-like offering (4 innovative features total at launch with more in roadmap).

    We are seeking a marketing partner to make this new coin a success. I know better than anyone (coming from Kittehcoin) that marketing is critical for a coin's success- it could have all the innovations in the world but without strong marketing it won't get anywhere. Innovation + Marketing are needed for real success.

    As mentioned in previous updates we have formed a leadership board rather than me being the sole "lead" when it comes to KittehCoin stuff. This will help us not only move things forward faster and with a greater variety of perspectives- but it will also allow us to provide answers to the community much more rapidly since 4 people are inevitably more available than one person.

    All members of the leadership board have been with KittehCoin since the new team took over the coin, so we are all equally committed to seeing KittehCoin Succeed.

    Here are the topics discussed during our first official meeting:

    In the spirit of transparency, I'll share a brief tidbit about what we discussed:
    Initial Leadership Sync - This is internal information that previously was only known by me, now is common knowledge amongst the leadership team. We went through some general Q&A and aligned on our current status.

    MergeMined Coin - We will be launching a new sister-coin to KittehCoin that is very rare and can only be mined by mining KittehCoin. This new coin will be properly marketed/pre-announced, etc and will be forever tied to MEOW but much more scarce. This is not only a unique feature for KittehCoin but will improve our core network power and also provide miners with greater incentive to mine- we are talking about making the merge mine coin very rare, like 900k max, or maybe 9mil (cats have 9lives Wink ), but it will be rare by comparison to MEOW. At this point our team has strong connections to miners and exchanges so the new sister coin would immediately be available on one or more exchanges, etc.

    Marketing/PR Status - We realize KittehCoin marketing is lacking and some members of the team who signed up for "marketing" were more talk than action. We discussed immediate actions that could be taken to at least start to fix this situation and will be acting on those immediately in the form of contests and giveaways to design stickers and tshirts for MEOW rewards. Sebastien1234 will be posting about this officially in the next day our two.

    Beyond that we will be working on improving our marketing through putting together videos, audio and other media formats that will attract new kittehs. We'll centralize news announcement to our Tumblr and than cross-post to the various forums and social channels as needed. We want to reach out to celebrities and get a twitter MEOW tipbot working to get them interested.

    We're still looking for a solid marketer, there is so much marketing potential between the whole kittehs/memes/cats/girls/sex angles on "KittehCoin" I'm surprised some astute marketer hasn't purchased a ton of MEOW at 7 satoshi and then reached out to us to help increase the coin's value (hint hint, I know you're out there). Until we find that person, we have lots of ideas and will look to the community to help us in spreading them around. We also want to make sure that our news (be it website, this announcement, or otherwise) is available in multiple native-languages.

    Next steps for KittehCoin/Contribute System - We tested the KittehContribute system this weekend (contribute.kittehcoin.info) which will allow the community which is in such a fervor to help out with a variety of tasks, to actually help out. The system points the community's energy toward specific projects or tasks within those projects that KittehCoin as an organization needs help with- in many cases there will be a reward, but some items we will be looking for the community to help with solely to increase the value of a coin they themselves hold. KittehCoin is going to be a community effort, many merchants have already shown their support in that regard by manually implementing KittehCoin payment. They do MEOW payment processing manually while waiting for our payment processor Moolah.io to have an official solution ready for the public. We need our MEOW customers to be as proactive as our MEOW merchants, and the contribute system will enable that. We need to tweak some of the access restrictions in the system before we can open it up, so we'll do that, and then have an official release/announcement regarding that- as with all KittehCoin initiatives, we aren't going to release anything half baked.

    The Next steps for KittehCoin are:
    - Getting KittehCommand setup with access to internal communications channels like twitter/FB/g+
    - Getting the sticker and tshirt design contest started
    - Rolling out payment processor integration (if this is ready first)
    - Rolling out the "properly packaged and preannounced" merge-mined sister coin.
    - We also realize the input variables we are using for KGW are not as effective as they could be, so we will be tweaking those variables for the best results and if we find that KGW cannot be tweaked to our liking, we will create our own diff adjustment algo.


    I appreciate everyone's support of KittehCoin through the rough period all "known" alts are going through. KittehCoin is not a pump and dump coin, its not a premine coin. The team is here to develop a real ecosystem around a fun (and possibly profitable!) altcoin. The community should understand none of the team hold a large amount of MEOW and there was no premine/IPO. Honesty, most the MEOW our team holds we bought at what currently would be a loss. We're making other people money by increasing the value of MEOW, we aren't making the money here. We are still here pushing this coin forward. We know KittehCoin is in a solid place given the exchanges, the payment processors lined up, the community, and the marketing potential here to not keep pushing this forward.

    If you've got ideas? You want think we should make a youtube vid or post more on twitter/fb/forums or translate the website into language XYZ - DO IT! I encourage the community to act on their suggestions immediately- you don't need approval from us to go make a KittehCoin youtube video or to post a kittehcoin meme on your Facebook or on some new forums or subreddit that has never heard of KittehCoin- so do it! We will too, and KittehCoin will be better for it.

    We're really looking forward to the contests coming up over the next week, and pre-announcing the merge mined coin that will be launching in the coming weeks! As always, thanks for your continued support, ideas, and enthusiasm, it keeps us going late into the night!

    I just wanted to post a quick update to to the community to let them know what is going on- I know KittehCoin has been quiet lately but its just so that we can figure out how to make things work in the long term, we are working on improved marketing and a larger leadership group as announced in other posts.

    The system we are working on opening up is http://contribute.kittehcoin.info but we still need to test it to make sure it is easy for people to just come in and pick up a task.     Even though we have implemented KGW within KittehCoin we believe there are improvements that can be made on top of it and will see what we can do in that regard. We're also working on a sister-coin that can only be obtained by mining KittehCoin but we need to figure out the dynamics around this sister coin, a logo, and a name. We know it will be extremely scarce like 250k or 2.5mil total coins max. We also want to get stickers and tshirts made up but would like to have community contests for the designs, award people with MEOW etc.

    I'm trying to talk with the leadership board tomorrow so we can all get aligned on what's cooking for KittehCoin and then there will be more formal announcements once we've had a chance to discuss what's in the pipeline.     I have been sick the past week (but so has BTC!) and it has clearly had an impact on MEOW value. The reality of the situation is that KittehCoin is now a global currency, people around the world are buying and selling the coin and thus questions and concerns about it materialize 24/7. I have a job, as do others, a fiance (soon to be wife later this year) and I know others are in similar situations.

    I don't want my getting sick for a week to impact the value of MEOW so dramatically. Additionally, I want more people to be involved at a leadership level to know what I know, and be able to provide additional perspective as to the direction of KittehCoin and how best to pivot or react to the market and the community. KittehCoin is in a huge position to grow, we are on a lot of exchanges and we have the support of the community, we need to keep this momentum going and its hard to do with our current leadership structure.

    Benefits of a decentralized leadership:
    • Leadership is available to the community much more readily, because there are more people involved
    • Leadership being spread across time zones allows for 24/7 response
    • Having more people in the know about plans can change plans, alter roadmap- more ideas are always better than one single point of vision
    • Availability, if one of us has to take off for a bit, there is still a core leadership group to keep things rollin in kittehcoin land
    • Democratic decisions at the highest level


    In addition to forming a leadership board, I want to split the dev team into those who spend a real large amount of time on kittehcoin/IRC into the real "dev team" and the others can become "contributors". Having this "contributor" title allows us to onboard additional help for MEOW without actually increasing the core team size to the point where it becomes unmanageable.

    I'm also setting up a task management system. It has internal chat, and tons of other features that will help keep us on track and keep everyone informed. I think this will be very good for KittehCoin in the long run.

    Sorry I've been away, but I'm back! and I'm making changes to avoid the negative impacts my absence had from occurring again. There are so many things we have in the works that it is unfair for my absence to halt everything so dramatically.

    We are determining who will be on the leadership board right now and I will have an announcement coming out this week listing the members of the board after we have our first meeting. I will also share some news on what we are working on at that time after I have had a chance to sync the rest of the board on these items. I am striving for international representation on the board, or at the very least representation from both sides of the pond so the Kitteh questions and development can keep rolling around the clock.

    There is also other news in the KittehCoin ecosystem! We have been added with several other currency pairings to CryptoRush.in - sticking with the sentiment expressed in our previous community update we did not pay to be added, they added MEOW because they believe in what we're doing and because they appreciate the growing KittehCoin community.     We have also been working very hard on making MEOW something you can actually use to buy goods and services. We have been added to the marketplace at AllSoS.com where you can now list your goods for sale as well as buy goods using MEOW. We are also working with a more universal payment processor MOOLAH to enable payments on any merchant site and we will be creating an example site for merchants to easily get up and running.

    What's Next?
    • Now that we have addressed the KGW situation we will have a future release coming up within the next month that introduces the "new feature" we have been talking about for a while in KittehCoin. We have at least 2 additional innovative roadmap features in the pipeline as well. The first (of 3) will be done in the next month or so (already on testnets). The release was delayed by KGW's rollout.
    • International expansion - we are working hard to get all of our announcements and news translated and mirrored onto international sites in native languages, this is part of our effort to increase awareness around MEOW and further improve our marketing
    • We have reached out to BTC38 and are doing everything we can to get added on that exchange to allow the asian markets easier access to KittehCoin trading
    • We are still waiting on Apple to approve our iOS wallet app for KittehCoin!
    • We are working on an online wallet service which will allow you to easily create KittehCoin wallets online, this will also have a mobile-friendly website for the Android crowd but ultimately we want to have an Android native wallet app.

    Due to overwhelming community response and our ongoing determination to make KittehCoin the best coin, we have integrated the Kimoto Gravity Well algorithm into KittehCoin's difficulty adjustment code. We have also advanced the hard-fork point from 131,913 to 126,250. This is when the new coin spec announced weeks ago will kick in, the fork height was advanced after much deliberation. This was done by request of the community and out of pure common-sense, it is what is best for the coin. The fork needs to happen for the new spec and KGW to kick in thus we want it to happen ASAP.

      Hello KittehCoin Mining Pool Owners,

      Thanks for supporting KittehCoin by operating a pool. We have released a NEW client for kittehcoin, we are distributing this to pool operators first. This client adds in the KGW difficulty algorithm as well as adjusting the hardfork block height.

    It is CRITICAL that we get all pools to upgrade to this latest client ASAP. Please reach out to any pool-operator friends you may have.

    The update process is just as simple as last time. All of the code for the wallet is posted to github (https://github.com/kittehcoin/kittehcoin) and there is a makefile.unix for unix systems.

    Please back up your wallets before the upgrade, and for safety make a COPY (do not move, copy) your .kittehcoin data directory as a backup as well.

    After this has been completed please build and run the compiled client and it will pick up right where the old client left off, all addresses, balances, etc will be maintained.

    You can verify that the client has been upgraded by running this command: kittehcoind getinfo

    You should see  "version" : 80602, in the output, this mean you have successfully upgraded.

    If you have any questions please let me know, I am here to help. This change must be completed by SATURDAY 2/15 of this week or the blocks from your pools will be orphaned and rejected from the network.

    It has been a wild week at KitthCoinHQ, location: internet. We "relaunched" 2/3 as promised (well, 30min late but hey) and the reception has been fantastic. At time of launch we were on a single exchange and had reached out to many exchanges but hadn't gotten any response. Now we're just getting added to exchanges organically! The community is growing by leaps and bounds everyday and the team has some awesome new work to share with the larger community.

    If you've followed KittehCoin you know there was no premine, and this team kind of "inherited" it from the creator. Please keep that in mind when you contact us asking for free coins, this isn't that kind of coin.

    If you are a pool operator and have not upgraded to the 0.6.4.1 client you MUST UPGRADE. If you do not the blocks from your pool will be orphaned, and your miners will be working in vain. We now have >51% network saturation. The hard fork block (131913) should be reached in 4-7days depending on the rate of block generation. We will be the first to admit we underestimated the time to reach the fork-block, and will be tightening up those calculations for the next hard-fork (foreshadowing!).

    First things first- where can you buy MEOW these days?

    We have also explored CryptoRush.in, but they are asking for 0.25BTC to be listed. We feel exchanges (who profit from listing coins in most cases) should list a coin because it has a critical mass, a strong community, or the exchange operators value the coin and see potential in it. The ability to buy your way onto an exchange has us avoiding this exchange for now. We have been listed on several directories including CoinWarz, and several others.

    There have also been a number of new games popping up which support MEOW such a meow.coinwheel.me and others, we will be listing these on our site later today.

    We have been working on an online wallet service for KittehCoin wallets. This type of thing requires extra security auditing to make sure everyone's MEOW is safe so the timeline for releasing that service is a bit further out. BUT- we already have an iOS wallet app ready that uses that service as its backbone. As you know Apple has been kinda of waffling on the approval of cryptocoin apps, so we're waiting for approval right now, but here are some teasers:

    Another item we have been working on is a way to help support our miners. We know the KittehCoin difficulty is a roller coaster the way we have been getting attacked by multipools combined with DDoS attacks on our pools. To help mitigate this we have taken immediate action and have implemented the Kimoto Gravity Well difficulty algorithm (KGW) into the next release of KittehCoin. We are using the adaptive N-Factor implementation that VertCoin uses (hattip to them!) but we're feeding our 60s blocktime into that algo rather then the VertCoin block time.

    Now fixing the difficulty issues are awesome but we are working on a lot more than that, we're working on three things in parallel in terms of the coin itself, all of which require waiting for the hard-fork block to be reached before we can release, and this will require another hard-fork (this 2nd hard fork will occur much more quickly than the first one, we learned!).
          
    • Upgrade KittehCoin codebase to 0.8.6.2 - completed, in final testing, waiting for hardfork
    • Implement KGW diff. algo in KittehCoin - completed, in final testing, waiting for hardfork
    • HUGE new features in 0.8.6.2 - final phases of testing

    You read that right, we're going after 3 major updates in parallel. Why? Well because 2 of the 3 would require hard-forks, and so we feel it best to incorporate all of them into one release, one fork, and then KittehCoin will be solid for the foreseeable future. As you can see by our quick response with the implementation of KGW- we listen to our community, and if the need for additional changes arise after the 0.8.6.2 release, we will respond accordingly. The alpha for this release is already on github.

    So you're probably wondering what #3 is in the feature list... its something new, novel, beneficial to miners and users, and has never been done by any other altcoin. For this reason we a) need to make sure we test it thoroughly prior to release; b) make sure we market it right, since it really is a big deal for cypto/altcoins in general; c) we had to get a private github repo so people didn't steal our work before release. We will make this public when its ready for release.


    Things we could use the communities help with:
    • Putting together a proper marketing/PR team to dress and announce these new features and releases in the best way possible. We'll admit- we're coders. We aren't the best at marketing, but we have a killer community and are dedicated to making this coin better and better. If you have marketing experience please reach out to us if you haven't already, you can make a difference for this coin! Also, it takes a lot of time to write up these updates, time I could be using to code, while a marketer does a better job in general crafting these updates Wink
    • Locating a payment processor. We have requests in with a number of 3rd party processors but if you run a payment processor or can give us an inside track we and our community would be greatly appreciate that. This also ties into being able to leverage MEOW for donations and fundraisers in a more effective way as well as enabling the standard purchase of goods and services.

    The timeline on the 0.8.6.2 release is TBD- we first need to get past block 131913. After that its just a matter of making sure it is solid in testing before rolling it out to the full community.

    KittehCoin is here to stay! We listen to our community and try to help other altcoins too. We feel like "altcoins" in general are one big community and we are happy to help any altcoin that isn't a sleazecoin. We're actively working with the awesome devs from GOATcoin and AmK to help with some mac wallets for them. KittehCoin comes first- but as we have the ability to help and knowledge share, we're all about that.

    Want to thank everyone in the community for their massive support. Our team works very hard to make sure the users can connect to peers, miners don't have problems, wallets are working, etc etc. We know there is a minor issue with the zip file on our paperwallet, I will be fixing that today.     KittehCoin was originally launched on Christmas Eve Day, December 24, 2013.  It was a GREAT coin, but it needed some work.  The rewards system was broken.  It was listed on an exchange a little prematurely, before the community was really ready for it.  The coin's creator, Lonestar108, came into some issues that did not allow him to continue to work on the coin publicly.

    The community LOVED this coin, and we felt it needed help.  Danosphere and ELEVEN OTHERS stepped up to the plate in an unprecedented effort to take over and improve a coin.  We got straight to work. It has been a long month and a half, but we're finally ready!

    We apologize for the delay in this announcement but we wanted to be confident the hard-fork would be stable and existing coins would be safe. That being said test are complete and the relaunch is right on schedule. We will be releasing new items and announcements throughout the week since some of our new services are dependent on 3rd party approval (like Apple). Others simply need final touches.

    Here is the official week-long release timeline:
    • Phase 1 (date/time link) - Official posting on bitcointalk, twitter and other forums announcing a number of new games, services, core coin services and revised core properties. A number of new services will come online at this time.
    • Phase 2 (date/time link) - New games and faucets will be online. By this time we hope to have a number of exchanges listing us, we will be doing everything we can to get listed. Exchanges require the new client and time to integrate it into their system.

    20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PlS HELP - Issue Compiling Litecoin-QT 0.8.6.2 on OSX 10.9 (Macports, QT Creatr) on: January 27, 2014, 03:02:47 PM
    I am having a hell of a time compiling the latest Litecoin-QT client from the official git repo. I downloaded the latest 0.8.6.2 code and was able to compile litecoind using:

    It takes a second but I end up with a litecoind file that works. If I try building the GUI through QT-Creator I get this error, I have scoured the googles and the internets high and low and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix this, pleaseee help.

    - Have installed boost +universal and db48 +universal in an attempt to fix this, still no luck

    I tried removing all my boost and berkley DB libs and reinstalling because I thought maybe there were broken linkages, no dice. I uninstalled hombrew thinking maybe it messed something up, no luck. I have no issues at all compiling the 0.6.4 client and the 0.8.6.2 litecoind compiles but the GUI/QT Creator just isn't having it.

    Can someone please shed some light on this? I know its something with library linkages but I don't know the exact solution.

    Thanks for any help, been tearing my hair out over this and even studying makefile.osx as compared to the Makefile that qmake generates but because the contexts are so different (on being a GUI and all) its hard to tell which piece might be the source of this error.
