221  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to use the Bear Flag pattern and what to look for? on: June 28, 2023, 11:45:58 AM
Good post but, we aint getting the timeframe we should currently be looking for this BEAR FLAG pattern. as much as i know this pattern dont usually comes up in the lower TF on like the higher TF. like the 1hr, 2hr, 3hr, 4hr down to the daily. And one thing i noticed this current year people talk more of SMC, ICT than patterns, as at 2018 i started with patterns.

who noticed this too... Undecided Undecided
222  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical Analysis (TA) & Macro Fundamental Analysis on: June 27, 2023, 09:31:36 PM
I've been working with technical analysis for close to two decades. While many think we are close to a bull run, I think there might be another leg down first.
In my opinion, at least $40-48k needs to be broken for signs of a bull run picking up pace. Currently, it looks like we might start the final downturn before it's going up again.
Those that know Elliott Wave would refer to it as the 5th leg down, before an upturn is coming. My expectation is that BTC will touch somewhere between $8-12k before the next bull-run starts. A clear downturn might start when/if Bitcoin breaks 20k and stays below that level for a couple of days.

What are your thoughts about the technical analysis for Bitcoin in the near future?

Ps. I tried to attach an image, but it didn't work. Also, please do your own analysis.

Have you tried using this link here: https://imgbb.com/upload, I was probably using Imgur back then, it's of recent I can across this link someone made a post about how to add images on bitcointalk this is the link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5297889.0 to how you can use the above link to add image.

You are welcome ☺️...
223  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why Binance Dey Successful Pass Oda Exchanges for Naija? on: June 27, 2023, 09:15:42 PM
Abeg my pipo una well done. E get one question wey I wan ask and I go like if sabi pipo give me answer.
How did binance achieve so much success in Nigeria? I sabi say oda crypto exchanges dey wey dey try penetrate the Niaja market just like binance but e dey too difficult for them to find any success? Do you feel that one of the reasons is because binance was very patient, had a good strategy and team in place or because say binance na one of the first crypto exchanges to take enter Naija ? Abi na becasue say them get plenty money?
What do you guys really think becasue I hear say one crypto exchange like that Bitget don close their Nigerian and their African team office. Dem tell dem say make everybodi vamoose becasue dem nor see any success for the Naija market.

I no sabi how true the news be sha but things like this dey happen - https://twitter.com/CryptoDefiLord/status/1672143316492713985

I think this thing na something, wey been happened since 2018 when binance over power bittrex wey been be the top exchange that time, like this eh I still dey wonder the magic them use take enter Africa... The opportunity so fast and since other exchange no get that ability so binance come become the Oga of it all because them dey very easy to use even small pickin fit use the exchange. Even with the ban self people still no panic we still dey make use of am.
224  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: One or more trading strategies, which one do you prefer? on: June 26, 2023, 06:06:41 PM
I have been in the world of trading for a while, and over the years there have always been controversies over the best, whether to use a single strategy for trading or a combination of strategies.

Personally, I don't have issues with that, many of my trading strategies can stand alone. But experience chose for me over time. I now combine trading strategies and it has helped me to better filter my trading signals for greater performance. And if any of that strategies did not confirm the same signal, I do not go for it.

What about you, what is your preference, and why?

In my own opinion one strategy is better than have many of it, not that all strategy dont work they do BUT if you get to master ONE and stay consistent with it you will do better than having too many and end up not knowing which one will actually suite your trading style. just recent i was discussing with a friend he was like his is learning forex and he is watching tons of videos on YT, on different trading strategy to trade the market and what i told him is the honest truth saying TRY LEARNING ONE STRATEGY AND MASTER IT, because too much of everything is nothing.
225  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Moderator (MiningBuddy) on: June 26, 2023, 03:53:35 AM
I don't think he moderator anymore cause I don't see the Staff Badge in his profile. Here is the look of an active moderator's profile.

Probably Theymos removed him from moderation but forgot to remove the name.(correct me if I am wrong.

now thats a clear information, well something should be done to address it because its probably a long time and i think am not the only one who is optimistic about him not present anymore.

Indeed, it's been a long time.

But there are still Global Moderators who can moderate where MiningBuddy was supposed to.

(I think this topic would be better in Meta than here, you should move it in my opinion)

thanks for your opinion, totally forget i was to bring the topic down here, probably was caught up with different activities during the weekend. Smiley
226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Multiple timeframes is another means of getting better market clarity on: June 25, 2023, 05:33:27 AM
It's never a bad saying that "two are better than one," and most times in trading, 'multiple' could even be better, if not the best. This topic is a sequel to my initial topic on the better approach between one or more strategies in trading (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5454944.0). As expected, some went for one strategy while others went for combined strategies in which the latter being my preference as it helps me filter my trading signal better than when I use a single strategy.

Now, it's the turn of the timeframe. These two (strategy and timeframe) are so important in trading as they have rightly shaped my trading today. Although I don't condemn any trading approach, yet I discovered in my trading experience that one of the mistakes traders make is to stick to a single timeframe. They believe it will not confuse them forgetting that there are many other traders working on other timeframes that they ignored. They often blame their strategy and might not know that the same strategy is warning them on another timeframe(s) that they ignored.

Whether you are a long or short-term trader, no matter the timeframes you are using to analyze the market, others might be trading differently. This is more reason why I like to use at least 5 timeframes for trading, which will surely increase my chance of capturing the true psychology of the market at that time. And you know what? All of them must agree on a particular direction before I pull the trigger.

This is another style that may slow your trading down, but believe me, it's to your advantage. It's worth it as it filters noise out of the market and makes you trade less, lose less and win more.

Expect more on another topic...

The topic title alone, just said it all because yeah you can't get a proper direction of the market without looking at the bigger picture of where the market is actually going, and trust me with a MULTI-TIMEFRAME analysis lets say for my own pick, i go with the DAILY, 4H, & 15Ms, you will have a good mindset free, how i trade with this timeframes is like this:

  • DAILY TIMEFRAME
i use this timeframe to see the overall trend direction, now this is depending on what your setups or patterns you want to see in the DAILY to be like.

  • 4 HOUR TIMEFRAME
when am done with what i want to see on the DAILY TIMEFRAME i drop down to the 4HOUR TIMEFRAME to look for my AREA OF VALUE some call it P.O.I(point of interest), P.O.I or area of value can be OB{order block} OR FVG{ Fair value gap} what ever thing you name your poi or area of value, when have marked out my poi or area of value i then drop down to 15ms

  • 15ms TIMEFRAME
now this is the timeframe i take my entries and place my S.L {STOP LOSS} for good reward ratio, some can go down as deep as 1 Minute timeframe for entries.

228  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Food dragging at events on: June 24, 2023, 04:42:31 AM

As a Nigerian, I deh see people drag food for events weh them go. E no even matter whether na burial or child dedication self. Na wedding own worse pass. The part weh deh surprise me pass be say even young people in their 30s and 40s weh get jobs and deh work too don join for this thing.

Before na old people weh I deh see do am. The old people own na to pack party food go house. And thereby deh disgrace their children weh no go too like the thing. Now young people don follow dey do am too. People weh go talk say na hunger in the land, but why people weh also get jobs and they earn salaries come deh do am too? I shock yesterday for burial event weh I attend and na this type of thing happen there too.

Abeg make una put mouth for this matter as it is getting serious by the day.

This one na serious matter wey dey always happen, even up till date e still dey happen. so like this me no think say this thing go ever stop, e just be like generational curse, wey we carry grow. na even one reason i no dey like go occasions wey dem go share food, the food reach your side self you go dey see bombastic side eyes up and down, the food no come reach you na still the same looks you go get, you come get up now as a gentle guy or lady go to ask why your side dem no serve you that one all eyes on you, and you know the amount of bad mouth we dey get for occasions e dey plenty pass people wey come.
229  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The reason of why Bitcoin is good for trading (for me) on: June 24, 2023, 04:21:17 AM
First of all I'm not a real trader, but I like to trade to earn small amount profit.

I only use BTC/USDT pair because USDT make me easier to determine how much my coins worth after trade and most liquid stable coin, the reason why I choose BTC is I don't need to worry about it when my trading goes wrong. So if I bought Bitcoin at the peak and the price keep decreasing, I will not sell it, but I will wait for the next super cycle where Bitcoin usually break new ATH.

Keep in mind I never learn about chart, candlestick, trend etc, all of my decision come from my mood and instinct. No stop limit, no follow any signal, no watching my PC for 24/7 etc, just directly buy and sell.

Is there anyone like me here? Cheesy

This place i highlighted is a kind of advise to your own self right, but dont you think is better to keep that decision to yourself rather than say it out here, because you know we have newbies who are still trying to trade the financial market and little do they understand what you are doing at your own end, probably you have made some money already to backup your method incase the market went really deep against you. And many newbies traders wont know this and probably will want to follow your step, because of the way you said it HERE

230  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Luck is what you need in gambling but you have to get to work with trading on: June 23, 2023, 05:12:42 PM
I have read many discussions about trading and gambling, some people have rather joined the two as gambling. That is not totally true. For traders who agree that trading is same with gambling, they are just lazy to go into work and adopt the ethical way to trade and those are:

1. To cut your losses and increase your profit: You can conveniently do this by using stop loss or take profit adjustment or trailing stop but in gambling, is one straight end once you have gone on the bet, you either loss all you bet or win or you bet for.

2. A trader can adjust his risk appetite by reducing the lots size to suit his account and determine his appropriate leverage but in gambling, a bettor has to go with the odds provided for the gay. He can't reduce or increase it against the fixed odds.

3. Traders use analytical tools to determine what market price will be and wait for appropriate timing but gamblers play by the rules of casino.

Trading is not gambling. You require luck in gambling but you require work in trading.

What is your thought.

To what you said yeah people just mistake the both to be one thing when they try one and it didn't go their way as planned and so to the next one it didn't work too they will start to compare, trading has a lot to do and when you are a trader you get to know you have a lot of task to put to place for a positive result, i dont really know or understand much in GAMBLING, i guess this is something you do without having the knowledge if it will turned out good or not. i prefer to loss money in trading than gamble it... i believe Grambling has different areas if am correct just like BETTING right? or the aspect of putting all your EGGS in one basket to a certain kind of project someone some where introduced to you.
231  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: This increment of Fuel price in Nigeria on: June 23, 2023, 04:31:04 AM
I'm actually disappointed that a whole country like Nigeria doesn't have a price control, imagine our Baba presido just announced suspension of fuel subsidy and the next day all the fuel station done high there prices, I wonder how long is going to take for it to come back to it normal state. Imagine were you normally pay a certain amount and now because of the fuel price you have to pay x times two, to even make the matter worst, some fuel station are not selling for now based on the fact that they had information that fuel will increase more soon so they prefer to  reserve and sell high.

I don't really no what is wrong with this country almost all the sector are corrupt, no more human rights, police are doing the work of road safety, people are more afraid of police than any other thing on the road because they will always find a fault to extot from you, I don't really no why is like that.

The government does not even care how the less privilege are managing to survive, well one thing I love about most Nigerians is that regardless of how difficult it is to survive in this country people always device means to survive.

Please let's share knowledge because I believe one of us in any way has been harase by a police officer, and also what do u really think about the fuel issue? Would the price come down or increase the more?

On this one bro to be honest with you ehh POLICE OFFICER never harassed me for road before like na my 6 to 7 years i don apply road, i dont know if na grace tho but the the truth i dey talk, one thing ehh wey dey make police go this far to wan intimidate you one way to another na say the way you appear and the way you approach them when them dey check point. And as for the fuel side ehhh this one dey choke me, and NO idea when price go drop down, we all are still having our fingers cross.
232  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Africa needs peace in Ukraine and Russia. on: June 22, 2023, 05:01:07 AM
Most African nations depend on Ukraine and Russia for many things. Economically these two nations supply most of the raw materials and finished products that help the economies of the continent. Africa suffered at the beginning of the invasion because most raw materials like wheat led to the high cost of bread. Academically the continent relies so much on Russia and Ukraine. Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine about 26,500 Africans were studying in Ukraine and many of them became dropouts. Many students that would have studied in Russia are not going because of security and diplomatic concerns. This is denying Africans the opportunity to access quality education. Politically it is affecting the continent because it is dividing us among the Western and Eastern blocs. Some of them have criticized the war while others have been silent.

Recently six African countries have scheduled to visit Russia and Ukraine in an attempt to seek peace. They are aware that this war is affecting the continent negatively and that the war should end. We know many more powerful nations have tried to end this war but failed, I am just praying that South Africa, Zambia, Senegal, the Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Egypt might find a way to end this war.

Like eh this war self go come be another historical talk for the upcoming generations, aside that this whole thing don tire man pickin like this, war dey one side dey do him own our leaders for here dey one side they do their own. i just pray to weytin you talk make e just come to pass make we fit rest sleep with both eyes close if them go gree close sha.

234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria continuous banning of crypto on: June 22, 2023, 04:47:24 AM
It is becoming more strict to transact crypto in Nigeria as the CBN now plant agents on Binance P2P to trade with you and intentionally add crypto keywords to the payment transaction so it can alert the bank to block the receiver's account.

This however is becoming outrageous for the Nigerian government and with no single doubt, the non-compliance of the young Nigerians not believing and making use of their newly launched E-naira must have triggered this action.

These wise traders are just exhausted of having their money controlled by the government.

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/nigerian-banks-tracking-customer-accounts-for-crypto-trading

I was thinking this topic should be in the local board (NAIJA) , well with that been said, what we pass through here is our leaders, it is very obvious that the citizen of NIGERIA who understood the future of crypto are not given the opportunity to adopt, recently BINANCE was tag to be NOT LEGAL but the question here i have, is it now they did know binance was registered and so on, hwat about those times binance has been sponsoring some events in Nigeria and so many other activities they have engaged with. The leadership system in Nigeria is dam... screwed.

Greetings my fellow Naija people.

I don't know why some people are still falling into the traps of those people that will call you for phone or meet you one on one and introduce fake decentralized investment, that if you invest #100,000 you will get #200,000 within a week. Someone came to share with me that there is a BTC investment one of his neighbor introduced to him, that when he invest on it through him , my friend will get double profit from it but the minimum anyone can start with is #500,000 above, that the numbers of people they want in that BTC investment is almost complete, that he came to seek advice from me if such decentralized investment is real. But I told my friend to run alway from them, that those guys are scammers and they don't have any knowledge about BTC investment. Did I give him a good advice ? What is your advice to such person.

This method of scam i just wonda weytin them dey use trick people because i no see any reasonable person go just listen to this bring one person the person bring another person like this thing tire me... make them let the POOR BREATHE  abeg. Grin Grin like this even the advise go be like na watse to am the thing be say eh... when them don talk nonsense full their head them go just mumu.
237  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin moving with fundamental news on: June 21, 2023, 04:08:16 PM
Bitcoin moving with fundamental news events and the breakout turns to be a fakeout now. Price fully reversed back to the resistance area and rejected again. #BTC back in range, so lets see where the breakout would be.

the market now is controlled, mostly by the news T.A, is just for confirmation, and so on, but i came to a spot where am to ask questions like whats really happhappening in the trading space is it that we dont HAVE TRENDING MARKETS anymore or what because at times i seat to QUESTION? my own analysis.
238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Better to have a trading knowledge than depending on signals. on: June 21, 2023, 03:58:18 PM
There was a time i came across a POST where the OP. was just so depending on a signal group where he/she wont have to do anything but just seat out for the signal, meanwhile forgetting that this whole SIGNAL stuff is not how it is, on the other hand. I almost caught up with this belief sometime back when i was trading, but i said to my self is better to learn this stuff rather than wait for signals WHAT IF THIS SIGNAL STUFF CRASHED SOMEDAY this was just my thoughts 💭
