Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com

I'm a little lost: have KnC demonstrated working prototypes? Proof of design/chip production? Anything other than a case rendering and website for preorders? At the moment, seems as though they have less credibility than BFL - at least they've shipped something.
Maybe read the thread, or at least the KnC news on their site. BFL ? KnC will have to keep us waiting for a year from now to get close to them. There is a KnC post a few pages back, states that they have one main goal...to deliver ASAP and not get into anything that's not needed that may delay that. The day they have a working prototype will be the day they ship. They skipped that stage to make sure we get something worth having with the steep increase in difficulty. They could wait, add a month to the process and then we'd be dealing with the estimated December delivery of those 2TH Cointerra rigs and god knows what else ...and struggling to break even. Anyone who waited a year or more for a rig from BFL won't see it return their investment now...KnC are attempting to avoid that situation. People have spoken to them in person and on the phone, visited them, had replies to questions via email and phone. Oh..and people have asked for refunds and got them. You're not lost, you just need to read what's here and maybe email them if you have a question. So that's a no, then.

I've seen lots of wild accusations and aimless anger, without any hard proof that Avalon have done anything wrong. There are always risks with customs, manufacture etc.; the delivery date was always a target - not guaranteed. Everyone needs to calm down: no one was promised ROI.
This isn't true. The group buys were guaranteed the chips within 9-10 weeks of purchase. Could you link me this guarantee, please?

Basic math shows how overpriced the shares are: there are ~10million more bitcoins left to be mined over the next century or so. Even if ASICMiner were able to maintain 20% of the total network hashrate throughout that period (breathtakingly unlikely), they'd only mine 2million BTC. Split between the 400,000 shares that creates an upper limit of 5BTC/share.
sigh, and once again we hit this discussion. Just continues that once every 3 to 4 pages some ignorant fool pops up who can't/doesn't read and tries to state share price valuation like he has any idea how bitcoin works. Well once again here is the answer. The idea behind bitcoin is that transaction fees will increase by then to a point where they alone will be compensation enough for miners to continue mining. This effectively destroys your "upper limit" as the same coins can be mined multiple times as TX fees. Please do some homework before posting crap like its fact, its getting pretty sickening. I'm well aware of transaction fees; their potential simply does not justify ASICMiner's P/E of 100, especially as their first mover advantage is about to come under fire. The magnitude of the hype around this company is unreal.

Neither ASICMiner's share of the network hashrate, not its exorbitant markups on hardware sales, are sustainable in the face of pending competition. Share price will be lucky to be half today's value this time next year.

Also interested. Good luck
My first thought reading this is "Awesome ! More competition entering Bitcoin space". My second thought is "Come on, rest of the world ! Why is Shenzhen seemingly the only place that has it's act together (relatively speaking) ? It's starting to be embarrassing !" *mumbles something about wanting to buy American and how that's worked out for him so far* Cheap labor, massive workforce, and infrastructure that's already present. Fixed uhh ok... I guess the wages in foxconn was so good that out of excitement they decided to jump off roofs... Danny The suicide rate amongst Foxconn workers is lower than the national average. People queue up to try to get a job there.
