1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: June 28, 2017, 03:03:30 PM
Its true but it would be really nice from NVO when they think about it for the supporters of the project becaus that it got so low on the last day was really really unlucky and in the end we all wanted to support them,
We arent talking about a difference of 5% or something we are talking about a difference of 20-30% so it would be really nice from NVO to be nice to there supporters Smiley.

A lot of new "investors" are going to lose their shirts because they didn't educate themselves and jumped in too deep too fast. Before you spend a single dime on *any* investment you need to learn about it as much as you can and carefully weigh your personal risk vs. reward calculations. Most people on these boards near as I can tell from the comments are not really investors who are making considered decisions, they are gamblers throwing the dice randomly hoping for a massive payoff. Each person has to decide which one they want to be in their own time I guess, but that often comes with costly tuition paid to the market.

The whole space right now reminds me a lot of the penny stock market in the early 2000's pre-real-estate bust where even a monkey could double their money in a week by randomly throwing funds at various offerings. Until they couldn't. Then they realized they didn't have the knowledge they thought they had about investing. Don't be one of those people, it's not fun. Ask me how I know this, lol. You wanna invest? Then do the work, don't gamble.

If you like One Piece you might like Hunter x Hunter.
1145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: June 27, 2017, 03:09:44 PM

I'm getting about 25 MH/s on Eth from a single 1060 using that whereas before I was maxing out at about 22.5 MH/s.

Very nice, what is your OC settings?

I've got it, going by memory, at something like:
power: 80
fan: auto
mem clock: +1000
core clock: +200

The core clock seems to be the most sensitive setting for performance. I'm using a zotac 1060 mini for the card and the precompiled win64 binary for ethminer you can find from that reddit thread. When using these settings it seems to flop between one 19 MH/s for every two 28 MH/s readings so if I understand the display that means an average of around 25 MH/s.

what might be considered is a new logo. there had been some new designs posted here. maybe it should be more on the nut side than on ths squirrel side :-)

what definetely should be more defined is why people should have it. safety like inside a nutshell. keeping you away from trading losses and transaction fees are the key features in my opinion.
fast transaction speed and increased capacity should make it even more comfortable to use.

I like the current logo, nice Beatrix Potter vibe that says your money is safe with us and oh by the way why don't you have some chamomile tea while you wait for your coins to mature. Tongue Totally agree there needs to be more marketing of what this coin has to offer, the focus on stability and long term interest is a nice contrast to most of the market. Especially love the idea of retiring coins through transactions and the scaled fees. What would be nice is the ability to do custom length deposits so that if it takes me a month to get a nice nut stash and I'm depositing along the way I can have them all mature on the same date (does this already exist? can't remember and I'm not at my wallet).
1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins is going down for real. on: June 26, 2017, 09:46:25 PM
Nothing inspires selling like not being able to get access to your money.
You can access your money very easily.

Just move it to a wallet where you actually control the private keys.

If you were as tech savvy as you say you are, you'd know that.  Altcoins will get more sensitive and go down with ETH, but it's nothing to do with this.

Yes I understand that of course, my point was that the flood of people that came in will include many who don't understand this and see the crypto exchanges as the same level as stock exchanges. When issues like today and the last several days vis a vis access to buys/sells and funds is interrupted *a lot* then they will decide this space isn't ready for prime time and move their money elsewhere. Just reading the site here it is obvious many people, while they may have a wallet on their local computer, actually use the exchange's wallets to hold their funds.
1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Rex- A Peer To Peer | REAL Estate PLATFORM | on: June 26, 2017, 06:42:32 PM
Since this is a global platform is there any automation of matching each country's buying requirements to the prospective buyer? For example, if I remember correctly, you have to be Singaporean to buy most property in Singapore. Will there be a way to filter listings for "those I'm qualified to actually buy" as opposed to "just looking at European castles for fun"?
1150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What would you buy right now of these three: BTC, ETH, or LTC? on: June 26, 2017, 06:36:21 PM
I just bought one ETH. Livin' dangerously, whew the excitement is getting to me, have to go sit down.

I really hope the devs stagger their crypto sells at the conclusion of this ICO.

Also, I think if I ever manage to start up a coin and go ICO I will definitely figure out a way to either explain better or code around the whole "can't fund ICO from exchanges" thing, it is not that complicated once understood but half the thread is about this and I'm pretty sure they could have raised a lot more funding without the confusion. Anyway, a day out and nvo looks like it's going to be a funding success, here's to the devs following through on their plans for a future exchange!
1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are scam ICOs going to draw the attention of governments? on: June 26, 2017, 04:57:24 PM
It'll definitely happen. Sooner than later is my guess, about the time some US Congress person's kid gets taken for a lot of money from an ICO. Then we'll get 24/7 news blasted about how dangerous the crypto space is and they'll be a couple Congressional committees to study the issue with the foregone conclusion that gov't needs to insert themselves somehow as the middleman. Those middle men will be the usual suspects from big banks and hedge funds who while supposedly performing oversight will figure out a way to enrich themselves. They will tithe the proper amounts to their favorite politicians so they themselves never have to suffer "oversight". Or it could all be candy corn and rainbows and there are no lessons to learn from history because "cryptos are so like revolutionary man", lol.
1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum in 5 years on: June 26, 2017, 03:42:57 PM
Smart ICO's would manage their conversions so they don't tank the market. There are whole sub-careers of people who handle buying/selling for whales, maybe some of them should look into this space.
1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins is going down for real. on: June 26, 2017, 03:38:50 PM
As a new investor to this space I can see how the network issues would drive out retail money. Half the time I can't even see my balance at coinbase, and from reading other posts the level of service/trust available at the exchanges varies wildly from meh to god-awful which if you are coming from the world of stocks is a real eye opener. I'm holding long so I'm not particularly concerned, but I also don't have a lot invested and I'm more tech savvy (as I'm sure most are who've been in crypto longer than me) than the average retail investor. Nothing inspires selling like not being able to get access to your money. I think that fact that there are some serious growing pains technically on top of the typical lemmings that come in on a peak and wash out on the dips creates the situation we are in now. Personally I'd love to see a crash because I think the underlying concept is here to stay and I'd like to load up.
1155  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: June 26, 2017, 03:25:57 PM
It'd still be popular with investors, just not as much with traders is my opinion. Of course if that stable price was 0.0000001 USD like many bankrupt penny stocks then it wouldn't be popular with anyone except as a tax write off.
1156  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will be back in $1,000 ? on: June 26, 2017, 03:22:42 PM
I wish, I'd be in there buying with both hands. The somewhat predictability of crypto volatility (in that you know it'll happen if not when) is one of the absolute best features of this market.

I like it, seems to work fine. Thanks for putting it together. I couldn't get one of the other ones to work at all but yours fired right up.

Can you check https://github.com/Musicoin/desktop/releases

for v0.5?

There's peer adding function and some enodes for initialization.

https://github.com/Musicoin/desktop/blob/master/bootnodes.json

Thanks that seemed to help. Got peers now.

What's the trick to getting the win 64 wallet to sync? Left on overnight and it just said trying to connect to peers the whole time. Running Pi v0.4, all I want to do is create a local wallet so I can pool mine.
