Its difficult to trust anything unless you can prove it with facts entirely....

food for thought...not that this proves the earth is flat...
what a perfect coincidence that the moon and the earth rotate at an exact rate each (different rates as they are different sizes) for us to always see the same side of the moon...

That's not why you see the same side of the moon. It is because the rotation of the moon is the same rate as the time it takes for it to orbit the earth once, that phenomenon is called 'tidal lock' and has been observed in other parts of our solar system. The moon is tidally locked to earth but the earth is not tidally locked to the moon, if it was then the moon would never move from our point of view.

We need more FUD here, I want more coins cheaper.

Is there any simulation or way of calculating dividends from the DEX at various levels of volume etc?  TIA

On this excel sheet, you can input the volume you estimate NVO may do on a daily basis and how much NVST you hold to find out the possible revenues you could have theoretically.
On the right of the table, there is an history of the top 20 volume since June.

I'd think the futures market is a big component since they can now short to oblivion.

Is any update planned to increase [interest rate] to bring attention to hodling again?

I hope not. Increase in interest rate means increase in supply which means dilution of value.

I'll hodl for another few years and we'll see what nvsx does (as in dividend), and with it will come a rational nvst-price.

Bingo.

The spread between bid and ask is the tightest I've seen in a long time, interest is currently very strong here, people trying to get in.

Holy cow, took out some of my sells on the way up. Look at that volume in the last 24 hours, almost 100x more than normal.

You can buy them on counterparty right now.

When the project is fully developed you will have to deposit your NVST on your NVO Wallet so you can receive the NVSX (dividends-like).

On this excel sheet, you can input the volume you estimate NVO may do on a daily basis and how much NVST you hold to find out the possible revenues you could have theoretically.
On the right of the table, there is an history of the top 20 volume since June.

NVSX distributed on a weekly basis fyi.

Very cool, thanks for sharing.

Cool interface, unfortunately doesn't work for me as I have both AMD and Nvidia in the same rig and it only picks up one of the Nvidia and none of the AMD.

What miner use for Nvidia and Amd?

CPU mining only. There was a guy working on a GPU miner mentioned in the thread somewhere but I'm not sure of that status.

Is there a future for the coin?

Many of us think so.

Where can I get a normal coin purse?

Here's a good normal one.

Cool pic from back in October, shows a good sense of scale and how incredibly small we are:

1035  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evolution is a hoax on: January 04, 2018, 05:39:44 PM
Consider. When a car engine is made, they don't make something like a piston and a cylinder that gradually turns into a piston or a cylinder, and then gradually forms into a V-8 engine. Rather, they design the engine and build the engine complete. Then they place it into a car, and run the engine. If there is testing of several designs, they do it before they manufacture the car.

You need to finish the analogy. The car gets released to the public. The public (environment) uses/abuses it. Then the next iteration of the car is made with feedback from this environment about what works and doesn't work, with a view to selling (reproducing) as many of that car as possible. Like evolution. If your analogy was true we'd all still be driving wood-wheeled horseless carriages. And just like evolution there are different branches of that tree that were more or less successful in adapting to the environment, like the monocycle or hovercraft. The modern car shares ancestry with those vehicles but does not come directly from them.
... none of these engines evolves in the sense that a hunk of metal forms itself into a a partial cylinder with a partial piston. There is no reason for that. Everybody knows that such a thing doesn't work... or happen.

They don't reproduce into a viable product line (or species), doesn't mean they don't exist as factory rejects. In evolution the time scales are vast. There can be a hundred million rejects for every viable mutation and history will have no record of them because they did not reproduce.

1037  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: January 04, 2018, 04:46:53 PM
I think personally, if the bitcoin prices are stable, bitcoin will remain popular

Bitcoin will be popular, but will not be as popular as it is now. The popularity of bitcoin increased because of the high quantities of investors and the speculation of the price of bitcoin. These where the major reasons for the growth and popularity of bitcoin.
If bitcoin becomes stable at these prices like after this correction is over and bitcoin enters 2018 with a value of 20,000 dollars, it would still remain popular but the way people are frequently investing into it will significantly decrease. People are treating bitcoin as an investment because of its volatile nature and unstable prices provide them opportunity of trading. Bitcoin will lose its charm if the prices become stable.
If it stabilizes, it will no longer be called bitcoin, no longer a potential investment destination for investors, and when it's nothing special, people will not invest more money in it, they will even recover capital and profits to move to another place of investment, this can significantly reduce the price of Bitcoin and make it sink into oblivion. So stability is never a good thing for the development of Bitcoin, people like Bitcoin as now, they will not accept a stable price, they will find ways to cause fluctuations in bitcoin, that makes them more profitable and earns more money than ever

LOL, what? Most investors love stability. Stable growth that is. Traders like volatility and most of the non-professional traders don't have a clue what they are doing and get destroyed. If bitcoin was more stable you'd see a massive influx of institutional investment that would make a Buffett share look like a penny stock. Mark it. Stability is a good thing, as long as that's not because value has dropped so much no one is interested.

Hey guys,
It looks like Suprnova will not close their hodl pool. (they removed the message that says it will get deleted today)
This is some great news for the start of 2018 =)
Keep mining, investing and hodling!

Happy new year,
Amit

OK good to know, I missed this post on the first read through and thought they were still closing.

Anyone know if you can store HODL on a Ledger Nano S? It's basically a bitcoin derivative so should be able to right? It's a shame the suprnova HODL pool went away. Here's to hoping 2018 is a good year for HODLcoin!

from facebook:

"We did not expect such a sudden increase of users/connections so we'll be getting a new website out sooner than expected. The site will have up to date tutorials and downloads for new and existing hodlers. We'll be going for progress, not perfection as we try to make somewhat regular progress. A more thorough update will given later today or tomorrow when we have a more accurate picture of what's going on. In the mean time, everyone can help out by helping us grow and revive the community.
Thanks"

Now that's some true Christmas miracle action right there.
