5661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a good investment you can do with BTC? on: August 21, 2017, 04:34:48 PM
Hello everyone!

So lets someone has some bitcoins maybe worth about 100 to 500$. What could be the investment do where the bitcoin holder is quite new to the crypto currency world and want to get guaranteed profit from the investment.

I know that holding bitcoins are good, but what are other good investments you can make with bitcoins?

Would like to know what you guys about this.

Thanks!

Well by just holding bitcoin and not spending or converting it to fiat, you are actually investing your bitcoins by means of waiting for the opportunity. Always remember that due to the nature of bitcoin being very volatile in terms of its price, the value of it by tomorrow might be higher compared today. I remember that last July 2017 before the fork, bitcoin prices dropped up to $1900. After the fork, the price skyrocketed up to $4000 today. We may different uses for bitcoin but if you really want to yield profit, then by just holding it you can actually earn money faster and higher than bank deposits.
5662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people invest in bitcoin? on: August 19, 2017, 01:30:53 PM
The question is simple; Why should people invest on bitcoin?

State your reasons, and advantages of investing on bitcoins today.

I know there are a lot of newcomers that are coming into the bitcoin community everyday.

I want us discuss it here, so that we may help them understand what is bitcoin and how important its to invest on bitcoin.

Share your ideas, and thoughts below.
They should invest in bitcoin because it will help them to gain and make more income. In addition to that, investing in bitcoin is a good option and investing in bitcoin is better than investing in any companies or shares. Lastly, just invest in bitcoin and you could become millionaire in the future.

Well just to add on your reasons, the reason on why people should invest into bitcoin rather than into banks is due to taking advantage of its nature, being decentralized and volatile. Just to give you an example, last July 2017 before the fork the prices of bitcoin were around $3000-3200 tops. After the fork, it skyrocketed up to $4000 today. In just a matter of weeks/months, the profit that you gain from buying bitcoins is far superior than the profit that you get from bank investments. Lastly, there are several methods on one owning bitcoin and this opens windows of opportunities for the unemployed, underemployed, employed and students.
5663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gift For Kid on: August 18, 2017, 02:59:32 PM
I really don't see a problem here. Kids gamble all the time with their games, and even make bets with each other all the time, so it's exactly the same. Also, kids can play monopoly and strip other users from all their houses and money and the goal is to put others to bankruptcy, so how can that be better than that game?
I don't see a problem here neither , as you said kids can be gambling without their parents knowledge over many things , even who will beat who at the cafeteria fight or which basketball player will score more in NBA .. Other games are more devilish that will make them hate each other !
Monopoly itself ruined so many friendships  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
If i know my kid will gamble sooner or later in life , why not teach him and make sure he won't get ruined and go bankrupt in the future ? why not make him good at that game so he can get some money later in life from it ? Why not store morals in him from his young age about this "taboo" subject and make sure he won't go "YOLO" with this thing ?
I think betting on those street fights and putting some amount on sports games is not equal to this roulette game. That kind of gambling is common in that age even we also did that kind of gambling when we are kids. But that time I don't know what this roulette game and other slot games in gambling. That will not make them to addict to gambling. But the slots games are very dangerous the kids very quickly addicted to these games.

hahaha, the one thing we have to do is give kids a lesson on the best for them. And if we can't get out of the gambling Centre, at least never do gambling in front of them or talk about it, because it will inevitably give rise to something that might not be profitable for them in the future. now that we all have to understand that gambling is very bad. So we should try not to poison future generations with something harmful things

I understand your concerns and everybody agrees that gambling is bad and we shouldn't allow our children to engage such misconducts , yet when they grow up gambling will be an inevitable stage in their lives , and we may not be present to correct their path , even if we are , they may not be willing to hear our pieces of advice thinking that they got everything under control and understanding everything about life !
Maybe introducing them to the "thing" ourselves from childhood and implant the correct thinking in them is the better choice .

Gambling is a choice, whether or not a person is been introduced to gambling, it is still his/her choice to engage in gambling on a frequent basis. Well you are right that gambling is inevitable among everybody, but they should know first how to value their money. It may seem tempting at first especially if you are always winning but the problem rises on people who still gamble despite on losing streak. This creates an endless cycle of them going-in and out of the casino which may be harmful in the long run.
In line with the picture, I will never buy that to my kid but I will try my best to explain what gambling is. I am not promoting gambling but it is better for me to explain it to him than learning it from his friends.
5664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I cash out my BTC now? on: August 18, 2017, 12:35:51 PM
If you have bitcoins and you have no interest in buying anything. You should save your bitcoin and hold your bitcoin. You will get a lot of benefits from holding your bitcoin. Botcoin prices are fluctuating and often rise making bitcoin a good investment for your long term. I recommend if the price is high and your bitcoin benefit then you sell your bitcoin part of it. So you can still benefit

Exactly but you should also treat your bitcoins as your EMERGENCY money. The main purpose of earning bitcoins for me is to pay my obligations when the need arises. Let's say I ran out of fiat due to paying monthly bills and there came an unexpected bill that should have been paid months ago, my bitcoins will be my last resort when it comes to these situations. You lose a lot of value when you convert your btcs to fiat due to its volatility. The price of btcs tomorrow might be higher compared today and people must always remember that you should treat your bitcoins as future investments.
5665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a currency or asset? on: August 18, 2017, 11:03:52 AM
In my opinion, bitcoin is an asset. Why is that? Let's look at the bitcoin price when it first appears. Has not it gone up many times now? So making bitcoin as an asset is a very appropriate choice.

If you consider it an asset then you do not need to use bitcoin for everyday purposes, you tend to think about long-term prospects and the fact that bitcoin serves as a medium of exchange every day. It is more perfect if we think of it as a currency that has a double role as an investment asset.

Well it could be both but it really depends on the user on how he/she treats bitcoin. For example, if someone needs cash for paying obligations and he/she does not have fiat at the moment, he can always convert bitcoins and use it as a payment for EMERGENCY PURPOSES. On the asset side, one might see bitcoin as a future investment due to its high volatility. In a short matter of time, one can incur profit compared to bank investments that is too time consuming while at the same time low in profit. Bitcoin is very flexible when it comes to these matters and it really depends on the person on how he/she uses it.
5666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: regret by not believing in BITCOIN? on: August 17, 2017, 01:01:46 PM
not only you got regret, the first time I heard bitcoin was around 2014 and I was unbelieved bitcoin but we can't change the past, better we start again to make a profit in bitcoin.

The only thing that I regretted was withdrawing some of my bitcoins last month when the prices were around $2500 and after 2 weeks, it skyrocketed up to $3000-$3500. I doubted the price of bitcoin before the fork on August 1 and due to that, I withdrew some. Now, the prices of bitcoin are around $4400 and are continuously increasing per day. So the lesson that I learned from that mistake is to never doubt and panic-sell bitcoin since it is better to risk waiting than to safely withdrawing it in the same day.
5667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: August 17, 2017, 04:16:57 AM
Real money is only good for buying things and our daily needs such as foods and clothes but it can't use for investment. Bitcoin is good for investments because its price will increase hugely and some country are now using bitcoin for buying things.

Well in reality, bitcoin and fiat are almost the same since they both have value in the market and can be used as a payment into other obligations. The big factor on what separates bitcoin from fiat is the usage and legalization of it per country. Fiat has been in the world ever since time immemorial and it has been categorized as the main medium of exchange. Bitcoin on the other hand is a cryptocurrency, meaning that its nature is on the internet and that maybe its biggest disadvantages which hinders the poor from accessing it.
5668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does bitcoin has constantly increasing its price lately? on: August 16, 2017, 05:11:04 PM
I'm just curious how bitcoin is rapidly increasing its value. Just last month its value was only around 2000 USD then suddenly after the fork it has constantly increased its price and now reached 4000 USD. Are there any reason why bitcoin has constantly rising? Can we expect that this month it will reach 5000 USD?

Almost everyone feared the August 1 fork and fortunately, it turned out to be a bust in the market. Right now, more people are confidently investing bitcoins and the demand increased across the countries. Not to mention, some even legalized the usage of bitcoins and even accepted it as a form of payment. Another thing, its reputation is increasing everyday and more people are beginning to realize its existence which results to attracting new investors.
5669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you feel when win in gambling? on: August 16, 2017, 05:01:44 PM
I always feel satisfied when winning in gambling, by having that feeling I feel a bit of pride from myself. A little sad but I think almost all gamblers have the same feelings like me, then how about you? Do you want to share your story for us discussing in here.
Well i feel so relaxed and satisfied if i won a lot of money in gambling because winning in gambling is not very easy for us gamblers. But sometimes if i won a big prize money i couldn't control myself i just bet and bet until i lose all of my money that's why it is really important to control yourself.

Before when I used to gamble, whenever I win, I used to feel this certain rush and greed from my head telling me to gamble again. It was scary but at the same time fun since I always want to feel the odds against them but whenever this happens, it only resulted to me losing. At the end, all of my earnings were exhausted even the money that I was not suppose to gamble. That is one of the reasons on why I quit gambling and risking and I am trying to avoid that perception of always winning even if all the odds are against me.
5670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Art of Earning BTC on: August 16, 2017, 02:24:27 PM
I am literally new to bitcoin, though I have already searched some discussions in here on how to earn, i am still totally lost and don't know how I shall start.

1. To earn btc, shall I deposit?

2. Joining bitcointalk.org, how will I be able to earn btc, by joining campaigns?

3. Is gambling a good choice to earn btc?

4. Are there jobs that pay btc?

I know those were asked lots of times, but still hoping someone will answer my doubts and questions.

Thanks :-)

Hello sweet summer child! It is never too late to start your journey here into earning bitcoins and I am going to explain you methods on how you can earn them. But first of all, you need to understand that earning bitcoin needs patience and determination. Like all things in the world, you cannot get them without working hard for it but trust me, it will be all worth-it in the end! Here are some methods of earning btc here in this forum:

1. Joining campaign signatures
2. Mining
3. Trading
4. Faucets

The method that is most convenient and reliable for me is joining campaign signatures but you need first to qualify. In order to join, most campaigns accept [Jr. Member] as the lowest qualified rank in order to participate and you need to follow their rules. You need to construct quality comments/posts across the forum.I joined here last June 2017 and I have earned decent amount of money through campaign signatures and the best thing about this is you do not need to deposit any money.
Gambling may not be the suitable choice into earning bitcoins due to the lack of capital that you have. Plus, you are playing with fire whenever you gamble and there is always the chance of you losing.
5671  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: August 16, 2017, 10:43:42 AM
That's an interesting question!!! Maybe my notions are somewhat outdated, but a wedding gift has to be more personal and well...tangible. If I consider it, the couple should have at least some idea about the value of Bitcoin. But then again, it's really impersonal. But that's just my opinion
If you create a polling you can understand majority of the users doesn't know anything about bitcoin at the beginning. Slowly little by little they started to learn more about it and now found successful. So, personally I will be gifting to wedding couple even if they were not aware of it. A small description is more than enough to make them understand.

Sending them bitcoins as a gift is like giving them an invitation to join and invest in bitcoin. So basically, it is a win-win situation both of our parts due to being beneficial, yet meaningful. Even if the couple has zero knowledge about it, sending them bitcoins as a gift will give them the awareness about the existence of bitcoin and this may provide them the opportunity to invest once they fully understand cryptocurrencies.
The determining factor that may hinder me from sending bitcoin as a gift is their nature as a couple. If both are known as investors, then bitcoin may be the perfect gift! But if they are the kind of people who are very sentimental, then giving them that is tangible is the obvious choice.
5672  Economy / Economics / Re: Selling Bitcoin = Opportunity loss?! on: August 16, 2017, 04:48:37 AM
Yes i think that selling bitcoin is just like "burning money". You are just withdrawing or spending your bitcoin instead that you could have much more in a near future, i dont know why people still spend their bitcoins, i just prefer to hold them all until it reach a nice value.
By the way, i have a wallet with 0.10 so everytime i have an emergency or i just need to buy something inmediatly i use that wallet, but i dont like to spend it.

I agree with people saying that if you sold your bitcoins, you are losing the opportunity of its value to increase but this is on the assumption of the prices increasing everyday. By just looking at the charts, the price of bitcoins last week were around $3500 and right now it skyrocketed up to $4000. In just a matter of weeks, the opportunity of your bitcoins increasing were superbly affected and this results to a loss on your part if you withdrew it.

What you said is correct. The reason on why I earn bitcoins is for me to withdraw it when the need arises. For example, I ran out of fiat due to paying obligations and I need extra cash in order to pay something important, I will use my bitcoins and convert it for me to sustain myself and pay my existing debts. All of us here have their own reasons on why they earn bitcoins and I see no problem in converting it to fiat for something far important.
5673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is becoming currency for rich dudes, why so fast??? on: August 16, 2017, 01:49:59 AM
Wow, bitcoin price is increasing everyday at lightening speed!

Are you not afraid someday bitcoin will become currency only for the rich dudes?

I know we all want to buy and save more bitcoins, but the way bitcoin price is going are we really going to keep up?

What do you think, guys?
Bitcoin is not the currency of rich people only. You can always own fraction of bitcoins. You don't need to own one whole bitcoin. Buy as much as you can afford. The amount of coin doesn't matter. What matter is the value you own.

The existence of bitcoin is the equalizer among the rich and the poor in terms of availability and opportunities. Anyone has the capacity to earn bitcoins regardless of their status, age, sex, religion, etc. for as long as you know to invest with the certain knowledge and techniques. In adherence to bitcoin being a currency for rich people and the price increase everyday, this is not really the case due to its availability being open to everyone in this forum. The price increase only gives rich people the advantage of investing due to their means of buying one but this does not totally eliminate the chances of average and poor people into earning bitcoins. There are several methods like joining into campaign signatures (most effective for me), trading, and mining.
5674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever regretted not gambling? on: August 15, 2017, 07:38:51 PM
No I don't regret not gambling anymore but I sometimes miss gambling. It taught me a lot and that's the reason why I'm not into it till this day.

Because in your soul is not reflected as a gambler. You are just a person with new things and trying new things, and you seem to be just trying to gamble and not understanding the art of gambling.

Nah, I tried gambling before and the times that I lost encompasses the moments that I won from it. Due to that experience, I never gambled ever my money and I just started investing it. I don't really care if I miss the entertainment portion or "art" of it. What matters is that, I don't lose my money to some risky gameplay. I never regretted it ever since and some people actually are convincing me to gamble. I have a lot of friends who got their lives destroyed due to excessive gambling. I tried talking to them but they seem to be close-minded about it.
5675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: August 15, 2017, 02:01:31 PM
This kind of topic is exactly the reason why there are so many preconceived notions about Bitcoin's ill fame. Onlookers think that this is the main aim of Bitcoin communities - drug buying and selling. We should try to bring to light more positive ways to use Bitcoins

There is no harm in debating about it. We are not supporting the online drugs trade or condoning the dark market activity. And moreover, even the mainstream media has balanced its coverage about Bitcoin. Earlier, the coverage used to be mostly negative, concentrating on the role of Bitcoins in drugs trade and ransom payments. But now the media coverage is more positive.

I agree, making a topic about one of the scope of bitcoin's purchasing power does not mean that we support it. Though we always recognize the positive side of bitcoins due to providing opportunities and investments, the negative side focuses more on the illegal trading aspect in which many abusers can actually take advantage of. Due to the transactions on the deep web being anonymous, abusers see this as an opportunity for trading or buying illegal drugs without having being caught. This is one of the factors that hinder bitcoin's popularity from wide-spreading across the world.
5676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: August 14, 2017, 03:44:53 PM
Why not ... thats is huge oppurtunity to prove bitcoin is not scam
Then we can earn on advertising bitcoin on tv

I guess that if we are going to advertise bitcoin on televisions, the problem lies on the explanation part due to its technicality and complexity. Most of the people would not get the idea behind bitcoin and this can potentially destroy its rising reputation. If we are going to advertise it, I suggest explaining about its nature being decentralized and how investments work. But then again, it must conform with the country's laws and regulations since some countries ban the usage of bitcoin. Hopefully in the near future, this would happen and catch the attention of the youth.
5677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Excuses on: August 14, 2017, 09:15:17 AM
I will never gamble using other persons money because it will only put more pressure in your part. That is too risky in my opinion. What if you loss?how can you replace the money? Think of the consequences first before doing anything. Its not going to solve your problem you are just making it worst
I definitely confirm your opinion about gambling with other person's money. It is quite a risk because gambling being totally a luck based game, offers you a win only now and then if you are betting a huge amount that has been taken from any other person, then your problems surely get doubled.
It is not a wise step to gamble with other person's money. Gambling actually offers you a loss most of the time so it’s quite a risk to bet a huge amount that has been taken as a loan from any other person.  This is because in case of a serious loss, your tensions get doubled as both loss and debt become a problem. Gambling becomes an addiction for the one who tries it every now and then to fulfill his financial needs hence it must be avoided to all the possible extents.

Borrowing money for gambling leads to disaster in most cases, just addicted gamblers borrow money for gambling and that is a sickness in them that force them to scam, and lie close ones to take some loan from them.
I never gamble with other peoples money, that gives me unpleasant feeling that I will lose and I will not have to pay back, thats why I never dared to do that. If I don't have money I will not gamble, there is many other interesting things that we can do, I watch some movies, play some other games, or I find some other fun.
That could be the worst action a gambler would do, borrowing money will not solve the problem, instead it will only make it worst.
By borrowing, you are doubling the risk, of course as an addicted gambler you will not gonna think anymore of the possible results because you only think of winning that is why it's hard to solve the problem when you lose the money you borrowed.

Let's say that the gambler is bombarded with debts and he has no choice but to borrow money from someone in order to risk it AGAIN, I guess that would be a  reasonable choice to them. When push comes to shove, one has to exhaust all means in order to recover his status in the society but the way must be practical enough in order to achieve it. In the perspective of the gambler, it's either win or lose and it's a risk that he/she is willing to take. But that way of thinking puts them on a tight spot and may actually worsen their situation.
5678  Economy / Economics / Re: how can bitcoin help the community? on: August 14, 2017, 05:50:24 AM
This problem is not many people know about bitcoin. A bit of teaching about bitcoin to the community may be the beginning to do. If all is realized and many people know about bitcoin, I think bitcoin will be able to solve economic problems in society. But it will not be easy to explain about bitcoin. Because bitcoin is not like a physically visible fiat, bitcoin is a virtual currency that not everyone understands about the digital world. This will require a long process, until people really understand the digital.
Yeah, we need to work on this thing. It would not be easy to teach people about bitcoins and convince them to invest into this digital currency. Many people fear virtual things. They think that digital world is not safe for them and they can lose their capital here easily.

A proper designed campaign can help people understand bitcoins. Only then bitcoins can solve the problem of the community.

Well it is true that explaining bitcoin into the society might be complex to understand and some people might lose interest in the long run but there is no need to rush things. Providing solutions into helping the economy takes a lot of time to accomplish but teaching people one-by-one may contribute to the solution slowly. You can start by actually teaching them the process of joining into different campaign signatures and in that way, it may help the underemployed, unemployed, and employed people to actually earn money through internet. The more we rush the people to learn about bitcoin, the longer it will take them to fully grasp the knowledge and that is why it is very essential to take things slowly but surely.
5679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin on: August 13, 2017, 05:48:26 PM
Investment in bitcoin or crypto currency with your spare money to me is the best option as compared to keeping your money in the bank without any additional intrest on your money. This is because bitcoin or crypto currency is the future in terms of investment. You can equally invest in some other currency that are at the ICO level before the lunch.
Well, investing in bitcoin is one of the option if you want to much income and if you invest in cryptocurrency you can assure that your money will come back. In addition to that,  many people already invest in bitcoin or in cryptocurrency because they also see the great potential to become world currency.

Just to give you guys an example: I have a friend who bought bitcoins way back when the price of each was only around ~$1000. Right now, he holds 85-90 bitcoins and last week, he bought 3.5 bitcoins which were priced around $3300 per/btc. In less than a week, his profit accumulated up to an 80% increase IF converted into fiat. By just holding onto bitcoins will really yield profit if you have the patience, courage, and determination to invest. Bitcoin has become one of the leading cryptocurrencies in the world and some countries are even legalizing the usage of it.
5680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you using bitcoins for? on: August 13, 2017, 04:23:23 PM
I spent a bit of my bitcoins in buying about 4 video cards. I thought it would be nice to have a mining computer at your place that produced bitcoin daily although in very low quantity. Now I regret this decision as I see mining is not really profitable only a few bux daily. I am keeping every single bit of my bitcoins now that I see price today did surpass 4000 mark. I will keep collecting and waiting.

Well the reason on why most people convert their bitcoin to fiat is because of additional investments or when the need arises. In your case, I guess you should have researched first and asked questions about mining before upgrading your PC but I guess that your decision is inevitable. In my case, I withdrew my bitcoins last month when the prices were around $3300 and I regret it ever since.

Right now being a college student is essential for me to build my path towards my future career. I see bitcoin as something that may help me in constructing my dream house or condominium through investments and campaign signatures. I am able to earn decent amount of money while at the same time studying. I guess that is one of the biggest advantage of bitcoins to students who know how to handle its value and importance nowadays.
