41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can government shutdown Bitcoin on: March 10, 2021, 02:39:02 PM
The most they can do is ban bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general in your country just like what happened to India very recently, making it hard for you to acquire or hold it but there's no way for them to totally shut it down. There's no single governing body which controls Bitcoin to allow you to shut it down. Even miners don't have that power. Restrictions can be imposed and be blocked off the internet, just like how China has treated Google but then again there's a workaround for that with offline transactions.

44  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Ang Laki ng Tinaas ng Presyo ng Enjin Token (ENJ) ngayon on: March 09, 2021, 07:26:43 AM
Isipin mo na lang OP na gain is still gain.  Wink

Pag naayos na siguro nila yung gas fees nila, lalong lalago pa ito kaya maganda pa din siyang investment for the mid-long term. ICO - 2017, DeFi - 2020, tapos ngayong NFT - 2021
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Paypal make bitcoin mainstream? The website makes me think so... on: March 09, 2021, 05:14:55 AM
Just very recently, Paypal has acquired the crypto company Curv as they further expand for crypto. It is expected that they will be launching crypto merchant payments this quarter 1 and when they do, then its very likely that crypto goes mainstream since Paypal has a very wide reach. Their announcement last October has definitely made the market bullish as they stated that customers would be able to use cryptocurrencies to shop at any merchant in its network beginning in 2021. Once they do launch this, anyone with Paypal can just buy, hold or sell crypto so it will be accessible even for those who don't sign up for exchanges or own any wallets.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan presents to private clients that Bitcoin can reach $540,000 if compared on: March 06, 2021, 02:56:08 PM
These guys are contradicting what they say every day ....See this : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5316287.msg56479609#msg56479609  ... I honestly think they are manipulating the market and the statements are being published in the media to trigger specifics reactions in the market.  Angry

One moment they are bullish and the next day they are bashing Bitcoin and being negative. This is not normal behavior and very suspicious to say the least.  Roll Eyes

That’s true, their contradictions are even becoming laughable for me as they have been throwing statements here and there its come to a point that I don’t even bother on reading what they say. Even if they attempt in manipulating the market, I believe they fail to do so as their statements have no effects on the market anymore. They’ve been saying things about crypto for quite some time now so anything they say else won’t be any new to me. If ever they do invest then they should just do it instead of commenting on Bitcoin then taking it back every time the price goes down.
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: A 70% Drop May Occur after BTC Hitting Around $68,700 on: March 06, 2021, 08:43:29 AM
In the previous bull of 2017, did we see a aggressive downfall to 50% though? I have to go back and see if this pattern did occur during the last great bull run we have.

So we need to go down to $20k before reaching 6 digits figure down the line? Really hard to see this happening, but we will see. We already know how volatile this market is, one thing that made me not believed this though is that bitcoin's narrative has change a lot, companies are seeing it a good asset to hold on their balance sheet, so this storyline might not held bitcoin going down to 50% or even more.
I also can't recall, nevertheless this year, we didn't have significant drop to 50%, so I also doubt that it can happen this month. Will be waiting for the price around $70K and see if there will be a major retracement after that. This is the first time though, that I've heard a prediction with graph and some valid TA to go with.

Nevertheless if bitcoin's narrative has change because companies are looking at bitcoin to hedge their assets and hold their balance sheet into it, then will it be a disaster for them to see the price going down to more than 50%? The most logical steps is to continue to buy when the price goes down to 30% though and accumulate again?

I agree, just imagine what could happen to Tesla and Microstrategy if we see bitcoin falling down to about 50%? All these institutional buying has definitely made some effect so while we can look at the 2017 trend as reference, this year's bull run will be different. It's only just beginning and who knows who else will join this train? Other than investment from companies, there's also crypto merchant payments to be launched by Paypal which I believe will be a very big thing not only for Bitcoin but for ETH and LTC as well.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My ADA BEP20 is stuck in limbo on the safepal wallet on: March 06, 2021, 08:36:24 AM
I think you need some BNB for you to swap them as gas fees. Do you have any BNB stored in your wallet?

I'm not so familiar with using safepal, but that is my understanding from the error you are getting. It may be worth your while to try transferring some, even perhaps a small amount willl do since BSC network requires smaller fees. You can also check out trustwallet which supports most BEP20 tokens.
49  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after the pandemic on: March 05, 2021, 03:25:17 PM
I feel like the pandemic has made more people conscious of their investments. Not sure if its because of rising inflation, increased unemployment or out of sheer boredom due to being in lockdown but it seems like more people become interested into stocks and crypto. In my circle, a number of which joined in during this pandemic. The GME and r/wallstreetbets fiasco which happened a few months ago also sparked the interest for others, not only into US stocks but for crypto as well (as the members tried to deviate from control of institutions). This has made me think that the pandemic has brought about new users in the cryptospace.

But - I don't see the price of Bitcoin reacting to the end of the pandemic. Only new users flocking especially because of the institutional interests, which is not related to the pandemic.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best Crypto Discord Groups on: March 05, 2021, 12:51:12 PM
I find most discord groups to be are full of spam, referrals/invite links and bots so I lost interest in them. Scammers also try to find their way in big discord groups like this then message the members individually so I stray away from these kind of groups but if you find their signals useful then to each your own I guess. Also, some of the pump signal groups are scheduled pump and dumps for low-cap coins which I'm not so interested in. Discord is actually a really great app, one of my favorite especially since their audio is great (greater than other apps) but I wish they could do something with the spam and scammers.
51  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Lost Relics - Isang Blockchain Game on: March 05, 2021, 10:56:45 AM

Gods Unchained - trading card game na parang Heartstone at Magic, The Gathering.

52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: There is more that meet the eye on: March 05, 2021, 09:28:35 AM
I was only aware that some apps can actually look into your clipboard so I guess I should be more careful of the copy-paste function on my phone now. Its more convenient to just copy paste your whole seed phrase instead of typing it down one by one so thats why many can fall victim to schemes like that. Its always worth checking out the privacy policies before downloading any app especially if you have wallets installed on your mobile phone. Not to mention social media trackers and cross-site tracking cookies, and even offline tracking on some social media sites. They collect a lot of our data which is why I ad blockers and firewalls are very important.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could one day be a preferred currency for conducting international trade on: March 04, 2021, 03:47:39 PM
While most people are viewing Bitcoin as a store of a value, Citi has elaborated on how Bitcoin's technology still has great potential and how it has great influence. Bitcoin can very well inspire new business models emerging in the blockchain. More and more companies are utilizing the blockchain technology and digital assets. Blockchain development is becoming a more in-demand skill. The report made by Citi is entitled "Bitcoin: At the tipping point" which is very fitting as I view crypto to be on the brink of major breakthrough especially with all these continuous development and institutional adoption.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Managers Wearing Bitcoin Signature, Funny Irony on: March 04, 2021, 02:53:22 PM

Promoting a bounty project is different from wearing a signature.

Anyway, is always a choice for hunter but bounty managers should start looking at changing the dynamics on the reward.

I don't quite understand this because is it not the whole point of wearing the signature? To promote the project?

As a campaign manager, I don't find it ironic at all for them to wear the signature. After all, you are running a campaign which ensures that its participants will successfully promote the said project and by wearing the signature, you help in promoting.

Regarding the dynamics on the reward, the usually depends on the project and their developers. If you are developing a token, then its likely for you to give out payments as the tokens itself because you strongly believe in the potential of their project. It's sort of like giving out shares for the company. Whether or not the token gains value of course will depend on the success of the project and developers. Most btc campaigns are not token based, these are mixers and gambling sites etc. so they don't have their own tokens to give out thus the rewards are in btc.
55  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Data suggesting more than 95% traders are losing on: March 04, 2021, 02:19:53 PM
Many traders fail because they are brought about by their emotion. Can't really blame them because to be human is to feel emotions. One's emotions can really sometimes hinder your ability to make intelligent decisions. Most are affected by their fear too much. As Warren Buffet said "Be greedy while others are fearful".

One thing to note though is that a trader will not always be profiting every single day. It's normal to see their PNL track record to have some red. What's important is the profit should outweigh the losses. I've learned over quite some time from trading that you can always gain back your losses. The market is always there and will recover even after experiencing a crash. Just this time last year, markets have crashed due to the corona virus outbreak but right now the scenario is very different and the sentiment for the markets is very positive as everyone is hoping for the economy to recover.
56  Economy / Economics / Re: Cathie Wood - Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) & Wallets will disrupt the markets on: March 04, 2021, 01:42:10 PM
Since NBA cards are pretty popular, its easy to see NFT collectibles becoming a thing as well. The latest release sold out almost immediately. NFT games are also becoming a thing. It's exciting to see more and more games where you can gain cards or collectibles. I'm eyeing on some which has peaked my interest: God's Unchained which is a card game sort of similar to Heartstone and Magic, The Gathering. Enjin has been gaining more value due to games like these. I think the gaming industry has plenty of potential especially during the quarantine when gaming businesses surged. Due to being on a lockdown, streaming became more popular as almost anyone can stream these days.
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tim Draper: Netflix will be the next one to fall on: March 04, 2021, 05:29:47 AM
After saying that, many articles have come to publish what he has said. Who knows? they may come into a surprise or there's really an actual source that he had talked to directly from Netflix and has mentioned about it.

This article also says that Tim is speculating that Amazon might also be the next company to accept bitcoin payments directly. Since they've already added AWS ETH blockchain on their service, there's a possibility that they'll accept bitcoin soon, he said.

Based on the article, it looks to be mostly speculative with no statements yet from Reed Hastings himself so we shouldn't be too excited. However, this is very optimistic and the fact that Amazon has already added Etherium to their Managed Blockchain is exciting. Since paypal will soon be launching crypto merchant payments, it wont be crazy to see Amazon and Netflix to do the same.

I also have my eyes on Apple who may be trying to be lowkey for now. There has been rumors if implementations of crypto on Apple pay or maybe an investment on bitcoin like what Tesla did but for now they are focused on the Apple car. If they will go head-to-head against Tesla, they may offer BTC as a payment option as well as they compete against them.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was invited to speak about Bitcoin to financial management college students on: March 04, 2021, 03:16:09 AM
I hope you will be able to inspire many of the young minds out there who are interested in learning about cryptocurrencies. Its good to hear that a university has taken interest in giving a talk about crypto because I remember when I was back in college, there were professors from the finance department who disliked bitcoin. Now we can see more professionals becoming more open to the topic and even encouraging to the young audiences. I hope to see more relevant classes and courses not only on crypto, but also on blockchain technology. The resources on crypto are expanding more and more as I can see that more books and articles on it are being published.
59  Local / Pamilihan / Bagong Crypto Trading Platform sa Pinas - BloomXapp on: March 03, 2021, 12:47:25 PM
Quote
BloomSolutions has announced that it is launching “BloomX.app”, a new cryptocurrency trading platform for Filipinos. The app will allow Philippine residents to securely trade over 250 cryptocurrencies in exchange for PHP. Among the cryptocurrencies that can be traded are popular ones like Bitcoin and Ethereum, the DeFi token Aave, Swipe’s SXP, and Axie Infinity’s SLP. Those interested to try the app can join the waitlist here.

A virtual asset service provider licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, BloomSolutions said it has recognized the need for a “truly modern cryptocurrency app” for the Filipino customer.
