LeBron going for 89 points and the record tonight against the Pacers? Probably not… I do think he’ll try to get over 30 though to help him stay on track to break the record at home and on TNT. Oddly enough though, TNT won’t be showing him play tonight and instead is opting to show the Grizzlies vs Cavaliers and Clippers vs Bucks instead. A little strange to be televising 2 Bucks games this week instead of 2 Lakers games, but as long as the record is on TV…
I confess that I'm very curious and anxious for LeBron James to accomplish this feat, or rather, the whole world must wait for it lol
No one has been able to come close to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record for a long time, I believe that soon LeBron James will pass it.

If in fact LJ passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who could be the player to pass LeBron James? And how many years will it take for this future LJ record to be broken?

South America (CONMEBOL) is still regarded as the strongest confederation. But now only Argentina and Brazil are among the stronger teams. Look at Qatar 2022. Apart from these two teams, Ecuador and Uruguay also managed to qualify, but they were kicked out in the first round itself. I was surprised by the downslide from Uruguay, because this is a team that reached the semi-final stage of the tournament back in 2010. Other teams like Chile and Colombia couldn't even manage to qualify for the main event.

But I agree that there should be more teams from CONMEBOL. This time there was only 4 (after Peru lost the inter-continental playoff to Australia). For the 2026 edition, there will be 6 guaranteed slots, plus another possible slot from the playoffs. But it is a fact that quality of football in this region has gone down (outside Brazil and Argentina).

Historically, South Americans were the best in football. I want to highlight Brazil and Argentina. It's pretty curious but these two countries produce the world's best forwarders. But recently European teams are definitely dominating the football and we have a great forwarders too but definitely other countries have improved because the competition is constantly increasing, quality of life is increasing, countries and football training academies are getting able to buy better equipment, to train their trainers in Europe, etc, and that's very good.
Well, responding your posts.
Currently, as incredible as it may seem, European teams are better than those in South America (generally speaking), I believe that the only teams that stand out and are a reference the world level they are Brazil and Argentina. A long time ago, Uruguay was a strong team that was always standing out.

What I was able to perceive is, currently, several countries around the world are investing in football, this is a fact, and the response we had about this is, small teams winning against big teams in the 2022 World Cup and also in 2018 and that will be the trend, I believe that in 2026 we will have other surprises!

Another factor I would like to share with you guys, is that the technical level of several teams around the world has been decreasing, for example Germany, Brazil, Uruguay, Italy and others, are one of the examples.

Mainly Brazil, which in my point of view has reduced its technical level compared to previous cups.

I believe that the Brazil team in 2002 was a perfect team, we had Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Kaka and others. Several of those players I mentioned won several significant awards in their careers, I have no doubt that the 2002 Brazil team scared the whole world, that team was literally a dream team.

And currently, Brazil only has Neymar as a reference, and I have no doubt that he unbalances the team, that is a fact, because he is an excellent player, but unfortunately only Neymar cannot carry the Brazilian team on his back

This was the last world cup of Messi and Ronaldo and of Neymar.
It was confirmed even before the Qatar world cup.. The big name like Messi ended up giving another star to the Argentina after Maradona
How do you know this will be Neymar's last World Cup? Where did you get this information?

After the defeat by Croatia, Neymar commented that he does not know if he will go to the next world cup (I even dare to say that he commented on this because he was sad and frustrated by the elimination of Brazil.

Several people believe Neymar will play the next world cup, including myself.
Neymar will be 34 years old, an acceptable age, unlike Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be 39 years old and 41 years old respectively.

In 2026, I imagine Messi will have the conditions and ability/skills to participate in the world cup, unlike Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be 41 years old, for me, he will not be able to participate in the next world cup

Thanks for your contribution guys...

I didn't know that the first games of 2026 World Cup would be held in Mexico (group stage).
I believe like this way some teams will ""have an advantage"" in relation to temperature, travel/distance and others.

But I have no doubt that this will indeed be a challenge, because it will be the first time, the World Cup will be hosted in 3 different countries.

I know that in Qatar it is extremely hot, but my question is how some players will react in relation to the temperatures, for example, a team will have to play a game in Canada (cold), and the next game of that same team will be in Dallas/Houston which for most of the year has a high temperature, could the big difference in temperatures harm or affect some players?

Despite of the controversial play, I do think Lebron James is still living in his prime as he remains as one of those steadiest players in the basketball game. Though we may see lapses on how he play, and some even hate him for that, but let’s us all think that we won’t live our career all in glory, sometimes even the best players in the century became unable to give their best shots. And as for his eldest son, we all know the Bronny James is set to follow his father’s footprints, that’s why Lebron James is also motivating him for that.
I guess I didn't think like that way.
But analyzing in detail I also believe LeBron James may be in his prime, not as a player, but with the records and accomplishments he is doing in the NBA, ASAP he will break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record and become the top scorer of the NBA, soon his son Bronny will join the NBA and for the first time in history, father and son will play together (this is not certain, but I believe LJ and the staff will do everything for Bronny to be drafted to the same team  to play with his dad), another interesting factor is his consistency and his physique, he is almost 40 years old and even so, he is one of the best players in NBA today, this and other examples that can show that LJ is in his prime .

I will be curious about his future in the NBA.

Memphis came back strong after five matches loss streak. Without Haliburton Indiana is just an ordinary team but they played first half good. Memphis took the control of the game in second half though. Jaren Jackson Jr. was the most effective player along with Morant. He looks like a serious candidate for DPOY award. Both players had a great game that Dillon Brooks' poor performance was overshadowed. Another triple-double night for Morant with an impressive 15 assists. Ja Morant will be a great player but his obvious travels that get no calls are disturbing me. I wish refs be more strict on a simple basketball rule. I don't expect them to call every travel like European basketball but some obvious travels that they don't call turns people off from watching the match.
I confess that it was a very interesting game! Sometimes I am surprised by the performance that Ja Morant is currently having, what surprises me is his age, he is only 23 years old and I have no doubt that he will evolve a lot in his career.

Regarding the Cavaliers vs Clippers game, did anyone watch it?
I took a quick look at the game's statistics and was surprised with some numbers.
I'm surprised to see the Clippers' accuracy in 3 point shoot (2/19) only 10.5% accuracy, on the other hand, the Cavs had a relevant advantage, (20/33) 60.6% accuracy in 3 point shoot.

It was the FA of the US, Mexico, and Canada that decided to jointly bid for the World Cup and they won the bid. Before now it was just Japan and Korea that have jointly hosted the world cup. But these three nations share common boundaries which means it might be easy to access all of them during the world cup. And it will also give football fans the opportunity of enjoying the culture and environment of their nations. All three countries indeed can host the world cup, but variety is what makes life interesting and not boring.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe this will be the first time in history that the world cup will be held in 3 different countries. In 2002 it was held in 2 countries, Japan and South Korea.

But i have a question... won't we have big differences in temperatures during some games?
Because the world cup is held in 3 different countries. For example, in Canada we know there is a cold country (generality), but on the other hand, in Dallas, Houston and even Mexico, temperatures tend to be warmer than in Canada, could this be a problem and could it harm some teams ?

I have no doubt, there are countries that have a great facility to play in the cold, others in the heat.
I know that playing with large differences in temperature is not as crucial as playing at altitude, like in some countries in South America, well, that's my question and I would like to know your answer.

All I know is that gambling there is allowed.

But yea, there could be some exception depending on where the place there or the municipal there is allowing gambling businesses to operate. I guess it's easy to know when you're there and find some gambling place to stay with an hour or two.
wow, is this serious!!?

I believed and was convinced that gambling/bets were banned in Japan. (of course not ALL 100%)
But I had in mind that few and some kind of casinos, gambling/bets were allowed in this country.

I will carry out further research on this subject that you commented on, by the way, thanks for your response.

We've had some competitive and interesting games recently.
I've been analyzing some games for me to bet on in the future, but guys, for you, what will be the interesting games that we will have in the future?
Anyone else looking forward to watching the Grizziles vs Pacers game? Cavs vs Clippers? Nets vs Lakers?
What will your bets be in relation to these games?
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 29, 2023, 10:47:12 PM
what you say is very true, the prestige is really needed by the fifa world cup so that it continues to be the biggest sporting event in the world always and it is very good if FIFA continues to maintain it for 4 years

I myself see that what FIFA has been doing for a long time has been very good, the selection they have made has also been very good so far so increasing the number of countries playing will only add to the burden and I think it will be bad for the future of the world cup
I believe that year after year the FIFA management/staff intends to make some changes in the future world cups, I confess that I am not a sports specialist, but I do not know if the insertion of more countries in the world cup will be something extremely beneficial , I have no doubt that this will help a small country that has never participated in a world cup, but I have no doubt that it could lower the level of future world cups.
For me, an icing on the cake of the world cup is the fact that it takes place every 4 years.

The Possibility is always there and by the thing, on how Lebron James is playing right now he is like at his prime I think this is because of his goal, he is really eager in getting that and right now he is 158 points away from Kareem Abdul Jabbar's All-time NBA points leader, and I think this is motivating Lebron James to do what he can in getting that record, and I think for Lakers in getting Bronny James I think this will keep Lebron James in getting motivated and giving his son a championship ring, I think what Lebron James needed right now is just motivation and the Lakers will give it to him,
Well, I don't know if LeBron James is in his prime, but I have no doubt that he is living a great moment in his life, because he is going through several important moments, for example, his possible retirement (I believe that maybe in 3 or 5 years he may retire, this is not real, just my assumption), LJ is winning several records, he is also having a not very good time in the Lakers (although he is scoring in several games), and also I have no doubt that he is analyzing and preparing (or at least helping) Bronny to enter the NBA, depending on the situation I have no doubt that LJ will also intend to do everything to get Bryce into the NBA in the future (which in my opinion has had a great evolution recently).

I think it's more likely that Durant is absent that's why he is taking the game over. But if Durant will come back again, maybe his role will diminished as we all know that Durant is the alpha of the team.

Nevertheless, he can request for the max contract extension, it's just a matter of whether the Nets is going to give in to his demand.

Because him and the Nets organization has some issues in the past and so with that I have a feeling that the Nets will not give him that huge contract extension.
Well, could that really happen?
I also admit that Durant is the alpha player on the team and I have no doubt that he makes a difference on the team.
I know Irving has had some issues personally and also with the Brooklyn Nets, but can the Nets offer maximum extension for Kyrie Irving? Or is this something impossible to happen?
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 28, 2023, 09:29:01 AM
Yes, I also believe that the number of participants can affect the quality of the world cup, not to the detriment of other teams, but unfortunately if a country has not participated in previous world cups, it means that it has neither the capacity nor the quality to be a eligible team to participate in the world cup.

I imagine that the main reason the world cup is such a rare and prestigious event is because it takes place every 4 years.

I don't agree. According to the most probable system, the teams that qualify for the knock out stages will play one additional match only, while they could face weaker teams in the group stages. Therefore, their performance won't change a lot in my opinion. On the other hand, increasing the number will give more opportunities for the theoretically weak teams and their fans to appear in the World Cup. However, the decision to increase the number of participants was taken for pure financial reasons.
Yes, i agree with you! I have no doubt that this change in the next World Cup has financial vision as one of the main objectives, because consequently the country that will host the World Cup will receive many tourists from all over the world, this will help the economy and in a way directly or even indirectly a greater investment in football.

Talking about the system of the next world cup, to be honest, it hasn't been released yet, so we don't have a concrete answer regarding that. I believe the system will be released later this year.
What was commented is that it could have 16 groups with 3 teams or 12 groups with 4 teams.
If we use that example, we would have 80 games.

If we follow the analogy I said just above, each team will not play an additional game but one less game in the group stage (compared to the old system of previous world cups), because this will compensate the additional stage.
And as incredible as it may seem, the world cup in this new format, if memory serves me correctly, could be held in 32 days.

ps: by the way, my superficial knowledge about this topic is, there will be a great chance that we will have 12 groups with 4 teams each in the next world cup.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 28, 2023, 08:50:50 AM
Kyrie Irving's consistency in the last few games is spectacular, he's been helping the Nets a lot, because he's been on fire lately.
And that's why he's been asking for a maximum extension contract. There has to be a reason why he's playing like that and showing of the Nets management on what they've got if they're with him.
Yes, absolutely.
Despite the problems that Kyrie Irving had in the past, he's still showing, he is an excellent player (for me, even an allstar).
If Durant returns as soon as possible and Kyrie Irving maintains the performance he's been having lately, that will make the Nets a dangerous team as well an excellent one!!

Wow. Another lost. Not a funny loss but I am laughing, I might be crazy.  Cheesy

Had the right prediction on who will win but the spread was not covered. Lacking 1 more point for both the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks.
The sad part about the Miami bet is I think that the lowest spread @1.57 only and the next is ML which is not that rewarding for a win.
My Bucks bet though, it's my fault for being greedy. That -10.5 if I remember it right is the max on spreads option.

Chasing my losses for the Golden State Warriors -3.5. Let's go Warriors!
Look, I confess, this type of loss no one would like to own lol
Well, at least the Warriors got a win against the Raptors.

I also did badly in the OKC v Cavs game. Even playing away from home, the Cavaliers have proven to be an interesting team to bet on, but unfortunately, in this case, they lost to OKC.

I hope I can recover my losses as soon as possible

Quote
Gambling in Japan is not black and white. In fact, gambling is considered a criminal offence and is generally banned across the country.

Those that are found gambling can face large fines and even serve jail time.

However, there are exceptions to this rule. Betting on horse racing and the lottery are two forms of gambling that are accepted in Japan.

To me, this seems hypocritical. You claim that gambling is illegal, but you may bet on horse racing, Pachinko, bicycle racing, boat racing, and Mahjong, which baffles me. I do not seem to understand. Why is that so? You claim it is unlawful, yet wagering on games that are overseen by the government is not unlawful. Is this not hypocritical? What does the government fear?

https://gamblingnewsmagazine.com/gambling-in-japan/
I believe this may be inconsistent for some people.

I think that this type of gambling/betting in Japan is allowed, or even, there may be some kind of classification and that horse racing, bicycle racing and others are allowed.
What I said is just my thought, don't consider what I said a something conclusive.

Match between Al Wehda and Al Fateh SC is going to be a survival of the fittest match,
the al wehda vs al fateh match is in progress, there is no significant pressure yet. Al Fateh must win in this match if they want to further distance themselves from Al Wedah because the difference in points between the two is only 3 points.
That's true, several teams have a close score, so, that means that Al-Nassr will need to win today's game to get away from their opponents.
I confess, this game will be very competitive and interesting to watch.

That Pistons win really destroyed my parlay for the night. I didn’t think they’d be able to take the Nets even without Durant. I was wrong.

Looks like the Mavericks are about to beat the Suns. Luka only played a couple of minutes before leaving the game. I hope his ankle isn’t bothering him too bad. The all star break is coming soon though and I think all NBA players could use the break. Their schedule is brutal.
The same for me. I believe that several people also bet in favor of the Nets.
I was convinced that the Nets would beat the Pistons.

By the way, I was impressed with Irving's performance in the last few games, I even dare say that he is fulfilling Durant's need for the team. I believe that Durant's return to the Nets will make the team very strong, and I have no doubt that the Nets will be a great team to bet in the future.

But on the other hand, if there is a greater insertion of teams, I believe that this will reduce the quality of the world cup, I am not discrediting the teams, but I do not know, this could reduce the level and quality of the world cup.

The world cup only happens every 4 years, and I have no doubt, this is one of the most anticipated events for many people.

When more teams are added to the World Cup, the quality of the World Cup may be affected. Football's biggest event, held every four years, has different views from around the world. Therefore, FIFA will not take any decision that brings FIFA into disrepute. They have already decided to include 48 countries from next season. I think it's a good decision because a lot of teams, especially multiple champions ‍some times can't play there, so it's definitely a good decision. But more than 48 will do more harm than good.
Yes, I also believe that the number of participants can affect the quality of the world cup, not to the detriment of other teams, but unfortunately if a country has not participated in previous world cups, it means that it has neither the capacity nor the quality to be a eligible team to participate in the world cup.
