Without LeBron, this team can't win a game. I'm surprised that Westbrook was able to score so many points, he's been one of the weakest players in the team for a long time and he wasn't really contributing much to the team.
I am surprised that they can still get such bad results with such a good squad. They are having their worst season in years
Yes, that's a fact... the Lakers totally depend on LeBron James, that's clear, I believe that without LJ's leadership, if the Lakers go to the playoffs, they will hardly be able to advance without him!!
1262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: April 04, 2022, 08:44:35 PM
Grizzlies have good line up and it's when their starters are all on the floor, but Suns have a really great chemistry that runs deep into their roster, that's why they were able to keep their momentum even when their two best players weren't available for a few weeks.
The Grizzlies currently have a good team, and he has a chance to be a good opponent to be beaten in these playoffs, but I believe the Grizzlies need to be more mature and experienced, it's a young team with great potential, I believe the Suns it's in an excellent time, given that he is an excellent team these days.

1263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: April 04, 2022, 03:14:23 PM
Well, to be honest it's pretty tough in choosing a team that most likely to win the championship this playoffs.
The Suns will be the most favourite to win here, but the Warriors can beat them in a seven game series, even the Memphis could actually beat them.
While on the other hand, I heavily favour the Nets to win it all IF they remain fully healthy for the rest of the playoffs.
I'd really like to bet on thet Nets here, but I don't I feel like KD or Kyrie is most susceptible in injuries during the playoffs lol.
It may seem ironic what I'm going to say, but I think it's easier for the Nets or Lakers to reach the conference finals or even the NBA Finals than it is for them to qualify for the playoffs by getting some of the last spots. (of course if no player to get injured)

Playoff games are totally different from the regular season, Durant, Irving, Westbrook, LeBron, AD among others are experienced players and they know how to handle games during playoffs (especially LeBron James).
Even though the Lakers and Nets have totally underperformed expectations, they are powerful teams and we cannot underestimate them.

1st pick - Mavs - I already took the bet @34.00 weeks ago. My way of supporting them and being a fan of Luka.
But for some emotional reason, I want the Phoenix Suns to win this and see how Chris Paul will react while hugging that trophy. He had been aiming for that his whole career and he is mostly just one or two-step away to claim it. He will give everything this time and even try to force it.
If looking at favorites they are a wise choice but Bucks could definitely make this a back-to-back championship. With Giannis getting better at his freethow shooting he became a bigger threat. What I am scared of is Middleton being inconsistent.

I will also be honest and confess that I would like to see CP3 with the NBA champion trophy, if that happens, this will be his first ring and also the first title for the Suns.

He really deserves to get that champion ring... by the way, another player that I would also like to see with a champion ring is Carmelo Anthony, he proved that he is still an important player in the team and he is standing out and helping the Lakers in most games... in my opinion, he's another player who also deserves to be champion.

1264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 04, 2022, 02:24:41 PM
Maybe you are not updated on the roster status of those dream team you are mentioning. Lebron, Davis, Durant, Irving suffers injury and out for the game for a long time that result to there team poor performance on this season, They just got back again so obviously they will still need adjustment to get there performance calibrated again. Davis and Lebron just got back in the game last match of Lakers and they are facing a tight match just to get spot on play in match.
Yes, they were the star players of the team and there was no doubt about that, but I believed that the rest of the team would get some victories without the presence of these allstar players.
Injuries is an important variable that can be decisive in a game, such as what happened to the Suns last season or with Warriors in the 2018/2019 Finals against Raptors.

For the Lakers, they are done this season I mean literally done. They lost to the Nuggets and their remaining schedule will be very hard. I don't expect them to enter even the play-in tournament right now. 2 games below the Spurs and 3 games below the Pelicans. The Lakers need to win on their last 4 games to have a tiny bit of chance to tie with the Spurs.

With the Nets, they dropped to 10th spot and they are performing really bad since the return of Kyrie Irving to play in their homecourt. Kinda disappointing if you will ask me because many are betting that they are the ones that will at least go to NBA Finals but like you said, Nets and Lakers are performing way too low to our expectation or... maybe we just expected too much from them. Anyway, the Nets' final 4 games will be a little easier than Lakers as they will face HOU, NYK, CLE and IND. They are currently tied with the Hornets at 9th and 1 game below the Hawks so the final games for these 3 teams will be crucial.
Hmm... what you said is interesting, I believe the Lakers and Nets have a smallchance of qualifying for the playoffs, these last games they will have will be extremely decisive.
If these teams don't qualify for the playoffs this season, I look forward to them coming into the next season stronger and better structured compared to this limited season they've had.
1265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2022 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: April 04, 2022, 05:54:46 AM
But that won't solve the small club's problem - lack of money.
It is true that being in "Serie A" will bring more money, but it will also have more expenses, as in longer trips.
This in turn would lower the competitive levels of "series A", which could further solidify the big clubs.

I had a colleague, who played for the amateur club, in the lower division. When we talked about what their goal was for the season, he replied that it was second. I asked why. The answer was that if they get first, they will go up in division and that will increase expenses that would cost the club more money, which would no longer be viable.

I also agree with what @alegotardo said, this is relative!!

When a team from series C or series B can move up in category/level, consequently they will get several sponsors and financial help for the team.
But to maintain this consistency in a series A, for example, the team needs to stand out, evolve and especially have a good board of director to help the team
1266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: April 04, 2022, 05:43:31 AM
Look, I confess that I also agree with most users here...

Currently, the Suns have become an extremely competitive team and they have a chance to be champions in this season!!

The team is more experienced and confident, but a variable that could decide are the injuries of some Suns players, mainly CP3 who has a history of frequent injuries in the playoffs.
1267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 04, 2022, 05:38:52 AM
I had to take some time off from NBA games, and I missed some important games.

Seeing the ranking and the results of the last games, I was impressed, Lakers with 6 consecutive losses and Nets are not having that great effort expected.

My question is... what do you think can happen with these ""dreams teams"" that are performing extremely below of expectations!!??

1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig burning smell! on: April 04, 2022, 05:17:52 AM
My rig is actualy mining again and i only reduced the power limit in HiveOs.
So the psu is working and i think i turned off the rig in time, when the situation was getting worse.
The 2000W psu is not overload now, but if i touch it in a specific side area, it is very hot, but only in that specific area of the right side, not entirely hot.
The psu fan is working too, because i feel the hot air coming out from the back of the psu.
This is the gpu list of my rig:

2X GeForce GTX 1080
1X Radeon RX 6600 XT
2X GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
3X GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
2X Radeon RX 6800 XT

Do you think if i buy 2 1200W psus, these will be adequate for a 12 gpus rig?
I will take another 2 gpus in few days.
wow, excellent rig!!

I'm not a mining expert, but as I have quite a bit of knowledge in this area, I'd like to share it with you  Smiley

I performed some calculations on the consumption of your rig
(2) GTX 1080 = 360w
(1) RX 6600 xt = 160w
(2) RTX 3060 ti = 400w
(3) RTX 3070 ti = 870
(2) RX 6800 xt = 600W
TOTAL = 2390w <<< (gpus only)
Source: https://www.whatpsu.com/gpu

I don't know what the next gpus you will buy will be, I can't give you the exact consumption of your rig

I think it's interesting and valid, you buy a PSU of extreme quality, because your rig will consume a lot of energy.

I believe 2x Corsair AX 1500i (80 plus Titanium) will be a good choice. I believe these psus are expensive, but it will be a great purchase and it is also an excellent quality product.

I believe that there are members who have a much deeper knowledge than me in relation to mining, I think it's interesting that you also receive feedback from others users.

ps: these calculations I made are an ESTIMATE, it's not the EXACT consumption you will need.

After all the advice on hardware wallets I went out to buy a Trezor hardware wallet only to find out that it only works with very few coins, if this doesn't suck to you I don't know what will.
Hmm, well... I don't know if you researched the Trezor's specs before buying it, these kinds of things need to be done so that no problems occur in the future.

I don't have the knowledge to properly explain, as I've never owned a Trezor.

With the Ledger Nano S, it also has this ""problem"" that you said, it only has 138kb (if I'm not mistaken in capacity) and therefore, I can only use between 3 to 4 coins simultaneously, in case I wanted to store some other cryptocurrency, I need to uninstall it and after that, the new crypto asset will be installed in the wallet.

1273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Could it be that if I send BTC from one type of wallet to another, transax fail? on: April 02, 2022, 07:17:39 AM
Hello
I know Bitcoin has multiple versions of wallets (SegWit, Taproot, Legacy-Segwit and Legacy) I have this list in Trezor Suite program.
If I sent it from SegWit, for example, but the end wallet would be a different type, such as Legacy, can happen that an error occurre and BTC transaction fail, or is it a completely unnecessary worry...?
Thank you for answer
Well, just to reiterate some things that have already been discussed here... But yes, you can send Bitcoin to any type of address. It is advisable to use native segwit, because the fees are cheaper.

A small correction:
With using segwit addresses, you don't decrease transaction size.
The segwit fork changed the way the transaction fee is calculated and now you pay lower fee when using segwit addresses, because your transaction has a smaller weight, not because its size has been decreased.
I read some comments on this topic and would like to understand better...

The reason a SegWit address transaction is faster/cheaper is because of the "weight/size" of its output being smaller (31 bytes), while a Legacy address is 34 bytes.. .is this because the SegWit fork changed the way a transaction fee is calculated?!!

Is my line of reasoning correct? Or am I wrong?
1274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig burning smell! on: April 02, 2022, 06:41:36 AM
Hi everybody,
i have a 10 gpus mining rig by 3 months and it is running 24/7 without any issues.
It has a 2000W power supply and it should be adequate according to the numbers of total wattage consumption, but today, i noticed a strage burning smell, so I immediately turned off the rig and the power supply was incredibly hot.
So i think if i hadn't been near the rig, everything would have burned out!
What do you think could have happened?
Do you think that the gpus could be damaged or only the power supply?
@SamaritanMan, could you share with us the brand and model of your PSU? What vgas are you using for mining? (brand/model)

Have you tried reconnecting the power supply or your computer? It worked? Is it still smelling bad?
If practically NOTHING lit up, if the fans don't spin, you can be sure that your power supply is damaged... I believe that a capacitor or some component inside the power supply "exploded" and is not working.

The energy of your home is "pure"? Or does it fluctuate a lot? (in the sense of not flickering/oscillating)

If your home's energy fluctuates a lot, if you don't use a quality power strip and if your power supply is of low quality (no 80plus seal, no PFC), I have no doubt that this could compromise ALL your equipment.

I would like to share a advice, regarding the PSU, don't save, this is one of the main components of a computer, because depending on the situation, a poor quality PSU can compromise your entire computer.

From my experience, try to get a good quality PSU, with PFC and 80 PLUS seal, some brands I recommend are Corsair, EVGA, Cooler Master, Seasonic etc.
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: High Mem Temp on my RTX 3070ti on: April 02, 2022, 06:18:53 AM
I updated my miner today using hive OS and finally I can see the memory temp of my RTX3070ti in the dashboard but the bad news is my mem temp is as high as 106°C and the main temp is just 55°C what the heck is this? Something wrong with latest Trex miner or what?
Well, I confess, 106° is a high temperature and deserves attention, because depending on the situation, it may damage your equipment in the future.

Could you share with us your vga settings?

What @rdluffy said can help you a lot, which is decreasing the voltage of your video card.

Does your video card have a lot of dust? The fans working normally? Have you checked?

If your video card was purchased a while ago, I think it's worth changing your thermal paste, if the above advices don't work.
1276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2022 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: April 02, 2022, 06:03:57 AM
probably easier to organize a big championship with the whole country than many small ones within it
just because you need a min number of teams to be able to make it happen

like, how many? maybe 12? 8 if we really push it...
a small country may have 8 pro teams, 4 coming from the south and 4 coming from the north, let's say...
So @Lucasgabd I believe this is a point to be discussed.
I believe in this case a "Brasileirão" or "Copa do Brasil" would be better
Regarding restricted competitions at the state level, each state will have to organize its competitions and with that, we will possibly have some unbalanced games between a team from the southeast/south than one in the northeast.

One point that I think is an advantage of holding several games/competitions at the state level is that small clubs in the interior may have more chances of reaching the "Serie A", for example, because if it were a competition at the national level, hardly a small team and with limited resources, he will be able to reach the Serie A of a national championship.

1279  Bitcoin / Electrum / [TUTORIAL] - How to create a multi-signed wallet on Electrum on: April 01, 2022, 07:19:05 PM
A few days ago, I had a brief conversation with @o_e_l_e_o and the subject we discussed was how we can increase our security (private key/seeds)  Smiley

(...)

The irony of fate, I was looking some topics on the Portuguese board and i find an excellent tutorial, "how we can create a multi-signed wallet using Electrum."
I found this a very interesting topic, this can be useful for a user who wants to increase their security. I will translate and share it with you guys!

ps: I'm just translating (portuguese > english), I'm not the creator, all credits go to the user @Loganota - ORIGINAL TOPIC - "Como criar uma carteira multi-assinada na Electrum"
ps (2): I'm not a native english speaker, if I made some mistakes, please let me know so I can correct the translation, thanks  Smiley

"how we can create a multi-signed wallet using Electrum."

Well, @alegotardo asked a question here about what mult-signs are, or in Portuguese multi-signatures . As he suggested and as I don't remember a tutorial here in the Portuguese tab, let's record one here.

Brief explanation:

Normally, in order for us to spend funds from an address, we must have a private key to sign the transaction from that address. But, what if for security you want to have more than one private key to spend funds from an address? In this case, if a thief found only one of the private keys, it would not be possible for him to spend his funds.

Another reason to use multi-signed addresses is if you have a business with partners. You don't want just one person to spend an entire company's funds whenever they feel like it. The solution to this is to use this type of address.

Applications:

The Bitcoin Wiki gives some examples of use cases for multi-signed addresses:

1-of-2: Husband and Wife's Joint Account - Signing either of them is enough to spend the funds.

2-of-2: Husband and Wife Savings Account - Both signatures are required to spend the funds, preventing one spouse from spending the money without the other's approval.

2-of-3: Parents Savings Account for a Child - The child can spend the money with the approval of one of the parents, and the money cannot be taken from the child unless both parents agree.

2-of 2: Wallet with two-factor authentication - one private key is on your main computer and the other on your smartphone - funds cannot be spent without signing both devices. Thus, an attacker needs to gain access to both devices to steal your funds.

2-of-3: Buyer/Seller using an escrow - If the transaction goes smoothly, the buyer and seller sign the transaction to forward the money to the seller. If something goes wrong, they can sign a transaction to refund the buyer. If they do not agree, both appeal to the third party who will judge and provide a second signature to the person they deem worthy. The escrow cannot steal the money as they only have one key.

2-of-3: A board of three directors holding funds for your organization - these funds cannot be spent unless two of them agree. Larger transactions with multiple signatures are possible for larger organizations such as 3-of-5, 5-of-9, etc.

How to create a multi-signed wallet on electrum:

When creating a new wallet, select multi-signature wallet:

Select how many people will share the wallet and how many will be needed to spend the funds:

Add cosigners:

If you create a new seed, your master public key will be shown:

That way you won't need to inform your seed to the other co-signers, just this public key.

Adding the other co-signers:

From the public key:

You can do the same with the seed, but one person would need to know the other's seed, this is not very interesting in this case.

The same must be done with the other co-signers (if any).

Wallet created:

How to make a multi-signed transaction:

I'm going to use Bitcoin testnet to make this joke, I recommend seeing this topic here for those who want to know more about TestNet.

I have 2 of the 3 wallets open on my pc, as you can see, they have the same receiving address (I got some satoshis in a testnet faucet).

First, let's use Wallet A to start the transaction. In this step, just do the step by step of a common transaction:

When Submitting, Electrum will display this message:

That is, it is not possible to transmit the transaction because it is only partially signed (out of two keys, it was signed by only 1).

Then we go to Portfolio B to finalize this transaction. In the print above you can see that you can save this incomplete transaction in a file.

In wallet B, load this file in this option:

Then, the following screen will appear where you can sign (1) and later transmit (2) the transaction to the network:

End. Grin

It must be remembered that the process of passing the transaction to the other wallets can be done in different ways, such as a QR Code. And it's important to remember that the subscription can be done by a Hardware Wallet, for those who have it.

Here's a video explaining how multi-signed addresses work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeLqe_gg2u0

And a video by Andreas Antonopoulos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAP2u6w_1-k

For the technical part of how it works, I'll leave it to friends who know much more than I do to explain  Grin

1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Looking for a way to add extra security on: April 01, 2022, 05:38:18 AM
It depends on what aspect of your set up you are looking to increase the security for. For a seed phrase, then generate it on a permanently airgapped computer which is running a fresh install of a reputable open source Linux distro, or a reputable open source hardware wallet. Do not back it up digitally, but write it down on paper only. You should have a minimum of two back ups in two different geographical locations. If you want to make it so that if your seed phrase is compromised your coins are not immediately stolen, then use a multi-sig set up (backing up each seed phrase and xpub multiple times separately), or create multiple additional hidden wallets by using passphrases (again backing up your passphrases on paper and separately). Alternatively, encrypt your seed phrase and also back up the decryption key on paper, but again separately to your seed phrase back up.

This is all great for increasing the security of generating and storing seed phrase, but that is only one piece of the puzzle, so to speak. If you then import that seed phrase in to a hot wallet, for example, then you have negated everything I have listed above.
Hmm, I confess... this is a very valuable information, thank you so much to share with us  Smiley
Some of these methods you mentioned I already knew about and others I didn't. But I think it's valid to use these tools that you said to increase the security.
