1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I hate all forms of Altcoin and possibly hate cryptocurrency on: January 22, 2019, 09:05:50 PM
Invests in risky investments. Complains when loses money. Seems like you don't have much of a leg to stand on at this point. If you know it's risky you've got to be paying attention to it.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Integrating tip bot in bitcointalk on: January 20, 2019, 08:08:48 PM
You should move this over to Meta, it will get a lot more attention there. Theymos is the guy making the decisions. It will come down to how difficult and expensive it would be to implement vs how much it will actually get used. In theory merit is meant to reward people (both financially and through prestige) for good content. The only advantage of a tipping system is that people without merit can still reward good content.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lisk (LSK) Price prediction? on: January 19, 2019, 02:38:46 PM
A meetup doesn't seem like a significant enough event to cause any sort of price movements. Most cryptos have multiple meets ups in a year and I've never seen any of them lead to anything significant.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT'S YOUR IDEA ABOUT TRON (TRX) PRICE PREDICTION TILL END IF 2019 ? on: January 15, 2019, 11:02:06 AM
Like all coins, TRX price is going to be determined by the whole market. I think we're going to see a long sideways market, extending at least in to the second half of 2019. I suspect that when there is a slight market recovery we'll see alt-coins outperform bitcoin for some time. I think TRX could hit 10c best case scenario but it's more likely to end up around 5c.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $589 Ripple’s XRP Price Prediction on: January 14, 2019, 09:51:37 AM
LOL. Yeah right. Even with mass adoption XRP price isn't going to be close to that level. Forgetting the fact that XRP token has no utility in most of ripple's framework, it still won't happen. Most anyone should realistically hope for is $10 and even that's highly unlikely with this year expected to show slow or no growth.

After typing all this I realized the article says end of 2018 which was even more humorous. Given you posted it and it's now 2019 I can only assume you meant to open a discussion as to if that price would be reached by the end of 2019.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero - Might Be Time To Run Your Anti-Virus on: January 12, 2019, 01:05:51 PM
A regular anti-virus probably isn't going to identify most of these programs. They're likely sophisticated enough to avoid detection or they wouldn't be having much success. I say that because most people do have anti-virus software running at all times yet they've still managed to acquire 4% of coins.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Now is the bear market, which coins are the whales accumulating? on: January 12, 2019, 01:03:41 PM
It's hard to really know, whales will be accumulating most promising coins but which ones are the whales who are going to be correct? There are many examples where the top 100 holders are growing their holdings.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: An Easy 25 Percent: ‘Bond King’ Jeffrey Gundlach Predicts Bitcoin Price Gains on: January 11, 2019, 12:24:51 PM
Other technical analysts also see a run to $5K - $6K  sometime soon. The real bull action will come once bitcoin goes above $6K and then $10K.

$6000 is probably going to be a very difficult level to breach given how strong of a support level it was. I do too believe that will be a real indicator that a strong bullish momentum is returning. Breaking $5k at this point isn't much more than some variance. We could see $5k next week and sub $3k the week after.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The dump has started for 2019 on: January 10, 2019, 05:45:32 PM
It's no dump. It's still within the same support and resistance bands that we've been in since hitting the low 3000s and bouncing back. Anything about 3500/3600 is nothing to worry about and anything below 4500 is nothing to get excited about.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH and XRP - For top 2 position on: January 10, 2019, 05:44:34 PM
There's always going to be fluctuation in crypto and with these major currencies they are some what large enough to sometimes go against the overall market trend and then we see big variation in their marketcap relative to one another. Long term I think ETH will reclaim no 2 spot in this year, it's crashed a lot harder and has the new fork upcoming which could help to increase the price.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Upfiring will be the best dapp of 2019 on: January 08, 2019, 07:07:12 PM
The only thing that can hold upfiring back is the flow of traffic through the project and the torrents. If they do not get enough seeds then people will simply go elsewhere, if they can convince large numbers of people that their platform is the one and they should earn for seeding then they'll be a big success.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will STO survive? on: January 08, 2019, 07:04:58 PM
STOs will survive, the more pertinent question is will they thrive? I have to think that it's quite likely that many projects and contributors won't transition away from the ICO model. STOs are only really a benefit if trying to comply with SEC regulation.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any bounty rewards after August 2018 ? on: January 08, 2019, 07:03:35 PM
Some yes, but a much higher amount have ended up failing or disappearing or whatever else and not paying out. Even those that have paid out have generally been far below what was expected. Now is not a great time for hunting bounties, treat them as an added bonus instead of relying on them.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High premines - what is your opinion about them? on: January 06, 2019, 01:23:51 PM
Looking at it from a centralization point of view a high premine is always going to be a negative and raise questions about the project. Is there any reason why you would want or need to have a 90% premine? It's hard to make a definitive judgement without knowing the reasoning behind your proposition.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you think things does not work out as you planned, remember this guy!!! on: January 05, 2019, 03:12:28 PM
Why do people place so much emphasis on the past? Bitcoin is a different thing and in a completely different place to where it was years ago. If you only assume that the past trend will always continue then you'll be mistaken.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: best ICO in JAN 2019 on: January 05, 2019, 03:11:18 PM
Don't invest in ICOs at this point. The market for them has nosedived. If you find a project that looks promising then 95% of the time or more it will be at a much lower price after the ICO. Hold your horses and save your precious pennies.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The ultimate infrastructure portfolio on: January 01, 2019, 04:36:55 PM
Betting on infrastructure coins seems like a smart move given how they're the backbone of near everything that happens in the cryptocurrency world. I can't think of any coins I'd likely add to the list, the only difference maybe would be moving some from the 100k to 1mil category.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Nexus Earth aims at sending their blockchain into orbit by 2019 on: December 30, 2018, 06:43:46 PM
It's just a pointless media stunt that might generate a little attention but won't lead to anything in the long run. The best blockchain will win out, there's no need for it to be in orbit or not.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019 Will See Entry of More Institutional Players in Crypto on: December 29, 2018, 02:21:16 PM
I think we're going to see a lot of new avenues for investment from institutional players but I don't expect there to be swathes of new investment. Market recovery is going to take time given it's not a wonderful time to buy right now with a lot of uncertainty still in the market and not lots of progress in terms of adoption.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2020 Ethereum Price [June-September Expectation] on: December 29, 2018, 02:18:12 PM
ETH to 25k by 2020 seems quite absurd at this point. Even BTC hasn't reached that price and it is far superior with a far lower supply. I will be selling a large portion of my ETH if it reaches $1500.
